Horatio, every expert will tell you that torture does not give reliable information, and most civilized countries consider it inadmissible. The United States are supposed to be above the sorts of human rights violations performed by dictatorships.

I think you're being a little excessively rhetorical here. Sure waterboarding is unpleasant, but compared to cutting off fingers or limbs, raping, slicing skin, applying electrical shock or otherwise damaging the human body, waterboarding is tame. At worst it's psychological torture. This technique also isn't being applied to US citizens, it's being used on captured Iraqi Terrorists. I personally hate the fact that such things are necessary, but to say that Bush hates human rights because we have to use force to pressure information out of killers isn't being fair.
