My girls have a keyboard, a couple of microphones for singing/karaoke, a guitar that needs restringing, and I'm counting on Santa for an electronic drum set under the tree. That's the real stuff, then there are all sorts of kiddie moraccas (sp?), tambourines (Laurie Partridge?), horns etc.

They had about five piano lessons a while back, but we couldn't fit it into their schedule, so if the Butter Bites get off the ground they'll be able to say they were self taught!

Dad, apparently Steinberger got a big shipment of them in and there were serious quality issues so that they did not meet the high standards. Ned Steinberger flew to China himself to oversee the production of the new batch which are supposed to hit stores the first week of the year. I have a feeling they're going to move quickly, so I'm hoping to get a pre-order in soon. I wish the wav would come in a natural finish like their higher end models, but the transparent red looks pretty sweet.

Michael, I am totally hot to play again. Before I moved to California, I had been playing in bands pretty regularly. Five years is a real long time not to play.

Roxy, that's awesome! What instruments do your girls have? Stella is a one girl band with her various percussion instruments and kitty cat keyboard.

Evan, welcome to my blog. I'm incredibly intimidated by real jazz musicians. I have to at least be able to do some minimal sight reading before I can even think of playing jazz.

I'm very relieved that the political ads on TV and the radio are gone.

A lot of people have relaxed too. There was a certain amount of tension building up to the election.

Awww, but we Roxiticus Desperate Housewives love stupid high jinks...even if you have to make it up or exaggerate a bit.

I forgot to mention earlier...London and Maddie have started their own band in our basement...it is called The Butter Bites. It's still early, but from the sounds that have been drifting upstairs I think they're taking a stab at creating their own sound rather than doing Hannah Montana and High School Musical covers...

What a magical night! A friend of mine who is physically challenged played a 5 string bass with a clear lucite body while it was perched on a special rack for him. The tone on the one you played must be awesome after looking at the construction. You'd think they would be in demand here in the USA with some of the best shops! Congratulations on the jam and especially the compliments. I'm hoping this will re-energize your desire to play again! :D

Roxy, the Buckley's are also a few weeks behind since we decided to dump our cable. The last one we saw was when Tom caught Porter with that milf real estate lady. I suspect my garage band will lead to far less stupid high jinks than Tom's.
