JSF, desperate times call for desperate measures, and there's nothing more desperate than a frustrated lame duck extremist who can't get his way. Bush needed to be cock blocked in a big way. As a proponent of a strong executive branch, you can thank Bush's out of control ways for decades to come of weakening executive powers. As much as you want to point your fingers and say "democrats this and democrats that," do you think they'd pull a stunt like that frivolously? Bush and his gang brought this one on themselves. Hell, if the moron in chief had just shut his stupid trap about planning to do some recess appointments, we'd probably have a few more appointed extremists on benches and in agencies across the country today.

The Democrats are opening a door to a precedence they would not wished on them. Trust me, when the positions reverse (Dem Pres, GOP Congress), and it will, I don't want to hear any Dem say "Waah!"

The Dems did it when they decided 60 votes are needed for any nomination -- even during Watergate, both branches worked together on certain issues. This was one of them. Also during the Clinton Impeachment too. The Dems are crossing a dangerous line; It will be too late when the GOP returns the favor.

Jason: This is what nasty politics is all about, and it has been this way for a long time. Maybe I'm naive, but I think it probably began in 1963 with President Johnson. I feel like Lou Dobbs. Sometimes both sides are like a blur of scenery flying past my car. For my part, I am paying attention toevery single candidate and interestingly watching to see who contributes to who's campaign. Interesting!
