I am simply disgusted at your statements. Why dont you look up bipolar disorder and see what it does to people. He took the cowardly way out? He lost a long ongoing battle with an often deadly disease. What have you gone through in your life that gives you the right to call someone else a coward? It is people like this that make me very concerned that the general understanding of the importance of life is lost in this world. You just called a dead man a coward... I am simply disgusted... I really think you should sit back and realize how severe that is and how emotionless you must be to do such a thing. It's always sad to hear that people off themselves. But it's also obvious that some people are predisposed to do that and they are just waiting for the tipping point to arrive. Sometimes they inch closer to that point on purpose. As for what it says about you--you're a sensitive human with feelings, even for the opposition.

I don't want you guys thinking I feel any way responsible. I'm just sort of taking this as a lesson to remember to think of people as whole people rather than just their words on the internets.

Roxy, I have a feeling even though you're on the wrong side of the political tracks, you're much closer to the tracks than the kind of people I really take issue with.

I wouldn't be too hard yourself there Jason. He was obviously disturbed. He took the cowardly way out rather than do things to improve himself. I know that my sound callous on my behalf - but - you were right when you said it in your post - people have done themselves in for much less.

I don't think you have to feel the worst about yourself over Kelly's death. As someone (on the wrong side of the political tracks) who's gotten to know your biting blogging style over the past year, I think we all know what to expect when we drop in for a visit. Further, I happened to click through a link from Snopes.com to his obituary and found "The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, remembrances be made to any charity of choice dealing with mental health issues, in particular research for bipolar disorder." What you've said about him, from the raging email through to his suicide fits the bipolar profile.

Don't be too hard on yourself...but if it makes you feel better in the future, don't be too hard on thine enemies...
