Matt also ran well in the District meet but will have to wait until next year to qualify.

When the gun sounded to start the race, the rain came down in buckets potentially threatening the course surface. A dejected runner from Woodinville was seen walking back to the finish area wearing only one shoe . . . the other one was left somewhere on the course. (PRs in yellow and red.) There was no doubt after the meet that the league is much stronger this year with the additions of Skyline (Sammamish) and Issaquah. The Mob varsity missed qualifying for the District meet by a mere 9 points. Last year, the team experienced similar disappointment as they missed qualifying for State by just 6 points. Qualifying as individuals for the District meet, Andrew and Matt will move ahead and run at Lincoln Park on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 1, .

The team scores on Thursday were:

1, Skyline, 54; 2, Redmond, 60; 3, Issaquah, 115; 4, Bothell, 141; 5, Inglemoor, 145; 6, Ballard, 158; 7, Garfield, 174; 8, Eastlake, 176; 9, Roosevelt, 183; 10, Newport, 187; 11, Woodinville, 246.

Full varsity results can be found here.
Full team results can be found on the Athletic.net Mob Website.

As a comparision of how competetive the league was this year, Andrew's time of 16:15 would have placed him 4th at KingCo last year. This year it was good for 15th place.

Congratulations to the RHS seniors, too, as their high school careers come to a close.

Etri Ajbour
Eden Garcia
Jim Hiner
Jack Laurence
Nick Millman
Chris Nguyen
Andrew Sahl
Max Simon
Derek Yamamoto

The performances of Matt, Daniel, Ben, Izaac and Seth demonstrated that the Mob will return a strong core of runners next year. If the improvement shown this year is any indication, next year's team will mark its return to the District and, quite possibly, the State meets. Go Rider Mob!

Kurtnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34418434.post-35978354307961297682008-10-16T13:00:00.001-07:002008-10-16T13:24:00.868-07:00All City Meet RecapThanks to all of the volunteers who helped out at yesterday's All-City 4A meet. Schools attending the meet include Issaquah (Boys #9-4A), Eastlake (Girls #3-4A), Newport of Bellevue (Girls #10-3A) and Skyline. The course is fairly fan-friendly with a number of good viewing places.

There are two ways to get there--via 520 or I-90. Pick your poison. Both teams placed 6th in their division and saw fifteen personal bests as a result. Trimming 20 or more seconds off of their PRs were: Sam Gluck, Sam Hendren, Nick Murphy, Izzac Post, Ryan Pritchett, Derek Yamamoto and Jack Laurence, who saw his PR drop by over a minute. Congratulations to the team!

Photos
A number of parents have provided their meet pictures to the team and the pictures can be accessed in a number of ways. Laura Gill, Nick Murphy's Mother, supplied photos that can be accessed from the team Flickr site by clicking on Profile. Penny Swanson, Daniel's Mother, also snapped a number of photos and those can be accessed by clicking here.

No meets this week.
