What A Great Year, so far

Hey everyone, I have not posted for over a year, was not sure how many people actually read it.
But, I figured I could still do it, even if only a couple of people read it.

We have been having such a blast doing weddings, receptions, and parties, and just wanted to let all our customers know that we appreciate all of you! In November, I think, we will be having a Customer Appreciate Party, in Maxwell. There will of course be food, drinks, and prize giveaways. Anything from koozies, to even a 3 hr DJ party!

If any previous customers come in, you can enter your name once for being at our party, and then you get extra chances for each time that you have booked the Doctor.

We are also going to have one of our famous Dude Looks Like A Lady contests. This is something I came up with earlier this year at a CF fundraiser, and all I can say is it's the best $20 I have ever spent a Goodwill! You have got to see this, and trust me, it's entertaining.

Jessica & Andrew's Wedding

What a WINDY day on Saturday. Jessica and Andrew had their wedding ceremony by a lake, and boy was it windy. At least there was no rain, and the ceremony was beautiful. This was our first time playing music outside for a wedding, but everything went fine. We were a little worried about the wind taking the DJ equipment for a ride, but it never did.
We had a lot of fun at the reception, and some more Kudos for the Brides family that prepared the dinner - EXCELLENT!
Now, this is a well known fact that I can't take Dr Fever anywhere without him running into someone he knows, and Saturday night, he kept saying he has seen the Groom somewhere, but could not remember. It turns out the Groom works on the truck route that Dr Fever runs. Small world.

Dr Fever needed in OHIO

Yes, that is correct. Dr Fever had a job to do in Middletown, Ohio over the weekend. We ALL traveled there, what a long trip, but we had fun. Mrs. Fever best friend had gotten married to a great guy February 16, and they had a reception later.
Jenny requested Dr Fever, and that is what she got too!! The reception was a lot of fun, the kids all had a great time too. Dr Fever in training thought he was pretty cool, because he got to help DJ for awhile. Of course the songs he wanted to play were not on the request list, so he was a little bummed out. He will just have to hear "Pop Goes The Weasel" or the Dukes of Hazard Theme song some other time.
Now, if anyone else out of state wants Dr Fever to play at their reception- he is requesting a round trip plane ticket be purchased for him to be there. Think all the family time in the truck was too much!! Oh, and for all the people gathered around the tiny 4" screen tv to see Ohio play in the NCAA tourney - GO OHIO STATE!

Mark & De's Wedding

What a great time at Mark & De's wedding reception. They had a great crowd, lots of nice people. The couple's children were the wedding party, and I made Marcus dance with a GIRL! He said he would hate me forever, but I am sure he will get over it. I found out later his dance partner PAID him to dance with him, but he was still mad at me. He made some money out of the deal. There was table not far from us who were playing name that tune with some of the songs we were playing - a lot of 80's hits. I think there was money exchanging hands, but I do believe the woman won, as it should be!
All of the young adults danced almost the entire night, they were really good. The most requested song of the night was something that rhymes with Pony Pony, and was not supposed to be played. Well, Mark & De's friends all "passed the hat" so to speak, and a grand total of $86 dollars was raised - and approval given by the lovely bride for us to play the song. Mark & De at least had some spending money for cocktails on their plane ride to a much warmer place than Iowa!!
They had koozies for everyone too, and thanks for giving us a couple. And, as I was told many times last night, it was De-Day! Congratulations to the wonderful couple and their children.

Mitch & Misty's Party

We had a great time at Mitch & Misty's! And wow, what a great big shed! It was huge! Mitch & Jason sang a few tunes for us and we got quite a few pictures. Everyone looked like they had a great time. Mitch & Misty were wonderful hosts!!

There will be a Shed Raising Party in the big town of Cambridge!! We look forward to playing in Mitch & Misty's new shed, and seeing if Dr Fever's speakers can shake the walls.

Ball Corporation Party

What a great time, with a bunch of pirates! Ball Corporation threw a great party in Ames, and the costumes of some of the people were awesome. We got to meet a bunch of new people and had a good time. Pictures will be posted on Monday.

Heart Of Iowa

We played for the Heart Of Iowa Communications Coop on Saturday in Marshalltown. A very nice crowd too. A lot of people turned out even though it was very nasty weather. A big thanks to Mindy and her fellow employees that planned the party. They did a nice job!!
And this was our first time playing in Marshalltown - Memories is a wonderful place, and I hope we have the chance to play there again.
Thanks for the hats too - Dr Fever is wearing one of them today.

Allison's Birthday

Allison is gonna have a PARTY!! Dr Fever will be at Pal's in the BIG town of Maxwell on December 15th for a birthday party. Pal's is the best bar in town!! Ok, it's the only bar in town, but it's still the best, and they have a nice newly remodeled party room too. Randy & Julie are the best, but beware of one old, gray haired bartender - he can be cranky!! Just kidding dad.

Iowa Heart Party

What a great bunch of people. All the Iowa Heart people were a lot of fun, and boy does Joann makes a mean chili too. The kids were so cute, and they had some cute costumes. We did a Limbo contest but one little girl thought it was a chin-up contest every time she went under the pole. They danced to YMCA with a little coaching from the parents in the audience. Mary - you are still a great cheerleader!! The moms and dads got out on the floor for a little Funky Music, and showed the kids how it was done.

We are looking forward to the After Halloween Party for the employees and family members of one of the Iowa Heart divisions this Saturday. Limbo contest, and maybe another dance off.

Jeff & Diane's Halloween Party

We had a GREAT time at Jeff & Diane's Halloween Party. There were so many creative costumes, and lots of them. We had a kids costume parade and a Limbo contest, Jake was our winner. Don't know how he did it, must be all his great wrestling moves his dad taught him.
There was lots of great food, the Mad Butcher had smoked pork loin, and some tasty ribs. Their decorations were awesome, everyone did a nice job!!
Tinkerbell a.k.a. Jared was our dance off winner, he won a Dr Fever hat. The band KISS was there also and even performed for us. One of them had a shoe malfunction, but kept on performing, what a professional entertainer.

It will be a scary, creepy, howling good time this weekend at Jeff & Diane's Halloween Party!! Dr Fever has an outfit all ready, and let me tell you, he scared the dogs when he put it on. We will be taking all kinds of pictures, and will have them posted on Monday the 30th.
Dr Fever will also be playing the 4th of November at a post Halloween Party for the employees of Iowa Heart. We will see if the docs of Iowa Heart can keep up with DR FEVER!

Gary's Birthday Pics

We had a great time at Gary's Party. We were out in a field, 1/2 mile from any type of electricity, and bathroom for that matter. But Dr Fever can play anyplace, anywhere, no matter what!! We had a generator, and it was not a problem. We even had enough power to plug in the crock-pots!! That way my cheesy potatoes didn't get cold. Not a lot of dancin goin on, but we all had a fun time. They had a campfire goin, and we even had Smores. Yummy!
Keith did a great job grilling, and Dawna makes the BEST little smokies wrapped in bacon. Or her artery cloggers and she calls them. Shawn even gave Dr Fever a big KISS, much to his surprise. The picture was really cute, check em out on the Photo Link.
Oh, and Venus now has the music page up and running. He has almost all of our 5234 songs listed, but we have some editing to do. That, and Dr Fever just got 6 more CD's, so we will be adding them soon. Venus, your smoked cheese from Golly's Locker is on its way!!

Gary's Birthday!!

The Doctor will be at Gary's Party in MINGO Saturday night. They are having a BBQ for the undefeated softball team of Maxwell. But it is also his birthday. We will see if we can get the old guy to do the LIMBO or at least dance a little.
Venus is still working on having our music database up and running soon! There will be lists of all our songs and artists. You can also search by genre too!!

Halloween Party

The Doctor will be giving out medication at a Big Spooky Costume Halloween Party in Cambridge October 28th. The Doctor is worried about what kind of costume to wear, he wants to look his best you know. I suggested he dress up like a nurse instead of a doctor. But he didn't really care for that suggestion.

Venus is also working on our Artist/Song database. You will be able to click on a letter and see if we have the artist or song that you want played at your event. Of course, new music is like a drug to Dr Fever, in that he tries something new all the time. So I might go crazy updating the lists.

Maggie's Party

We had a fun time at Maggie's 13th Birthday Party, in the big town of Nevada, Iowa. There were lots of kids there, and some danced almost the whole night to almost every song. My favorite was their rendition of the song "Mickey", their line dance was very good.
Big thanks to the host and hostess of the evening, Michelle and Kevin. They even got in a few dances. Not sure what Kevin was doing during Michael Jackson's song Thriller, but he seemed to enjoy himself.
Our Limbo Contest was lots of fun! Yes, this time we got pictures. We had a tie between 3 people and ended up having a dance off. Jo chose a Dr Fever hat. They are really nice, a creation of DeFino Custom Embroidery, Deb does GREAT STUFF. Sorry to the other 2 winners, I didn't get your names. Email me and I will add them.

Maggie's 13th Birthday Party

The Doctor is making a housecall for the 13th Birthday of Miss Maggie, in Nevada, Iowa this Saturday. Around 70 kids will be having a great time dancing to the tunes with the Doctor, Doctor Johnny Fever that is!
We might, stress might, have pictures up sometime this weekend from Nate's party, and Maggie's. Venus is really working hard to iron out all the bugs on the web site. We might have to send him some more homemade salsa.

Calendar Is Up And Running

Thanks to Venus, our web designer, the Calendar is now up and running. You can check for available appointments with the Doctor. Just select the month and year you are thinking of for an event, and it will tell you if Dr Fever is available. Please keep in mind, that if we are booked for an evening event, some afternoons will still be available.
The pictures are taking a little longer than expected to get posted, but Venus promises us they will be up soon.

Nate's Party

The going away party for Nate was great. Mike, Linda, Craig, and Tina... and I am sure many others were great hosts!
I think that Nate had a great send off, and quite a few of his graduating class of 2003 showed up. The Limbo contest was very interesting. It was tied between B.J. and Charlie, and I must say we were very impressed with their Limbo skills. B.J. never even spilled his beverage! He kind of looked like Keanu Reeves from the Matrix.
We took lots of pictures, and they will hopefully be posted sometime this week. There are lots of things that we are working on to post on the web site, so thanks for being patient.

Doctor Appointment

Dr Fever has an appointment this Saturday in the wonderful town of Maxwell, Iowa. We will be playing at a going away party for Nate. He is leaving for the Army!
Next week, hopefully, there will be pictures posted from this event, as well as others from some of our past events. Our web designer, Jon a.k.a. Venus, has been working hard to get all our other info up, so big thanks to him. The 2 jars of homemade salsa we had to pay him with was well worth it.

Maxwell Old Settlers Parade Winner

We had a float in the Maxwell Old Settlers Parade, August 5, 2006, and handed out coupons with a contest on the back of them. The trivia question was....
"On the first episode of WKRP, what was the last line Dr Johnny Fever says? Oh yeah, and one more thing ________ !!" You had to fill in the blank. The answer was "BOOGER!" and the winner of the T-shirt was Craig Book from Maxwell, Iowa. Thanks for playing Craig!
