U.S. CONSTITUTION: WHO LOVES IT? WHO HATES IT?

Our country has long been referred to as "America - an oasis of light and life in a world of darkness and death."

That is not a static condition. In fact, considering the rate at which our freedoms are being extinguished, the above statement may become: "America - once an oasis of light and liberty, now part of a world of darkness and death."

In over 30 prior blog essays I have written about the forces in conflict; which of them have long been attacking America's God-given freedoms; and who, beginning with the clergy, have abandoned their duty to be watchmen on the wall and sound the alarm (Ezekiel 33:6) to their millions of followers and church members.

The purpose of this blog essay is to offer a simple, basic summary statement defining the nature and objectives of the forces long in conflict.

The forces of darkness, evil, tyranny and death are founded upon atheism, secular humanism, evolutionism and Marxism. Their objective was summed up by Karl Marx:

"My objective in life is to dethrone god, and destroy capitalism."

That is to say, to them MAN is GOD, and in government Man, not God, must be supreme.

In the early 1920s Columbia University professor Dr. John Dewey, Father of "Progressive Education" summarized: "There is no god and there is no soul, hence there are no needs for the props of traditional religion. With dogma and creed excluded, then immutable truth is also dead and buried. There is no room for fixed, natural law or moral absolutes."

Those are the people who hate the U.S. Constitition - because it subordinates the rule of man to the rule of God. They believe in the supremacy of man. Thus their record of governing is drenched in centuries of blood, agony, slavery, and death under cruel dictatorships such as Nazism (Hitler) and communism (Mao Tse Tung, Stalin, Pol Pot), which murdered more of their own citizens - hundreds of millions - than military deaths in all of their wars combined.

Those who love the Constitution
Man under God

"Our Constitution is a government of laws, not of men". Whose laws? A: God's laws; NOT man's laws.

America was founded on the Old and New Testaments; on the Ten Commandments (a/k/a the "pillars- the laws of liberty") and on the teachings of Jesus Christ. Two sections of Christ's mission statement statement are"

[He] hath annointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; ...to preach deliverance to the captives, and the recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are oppressed (Luke 4:18);

The Son of God was manifested that he might destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8).

Christians the world-over recognize Christ as the Author of liberty. In fact, that very term has long been at the heart of America's sacred hymns such as "My Country, 'Tis of Thee...Sweet land of liberty...Our fathers' God, to Thee [Christ], Author of liberty... .

The New Testament sums it up: Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (II Cor. 3:17).

The Founding Fathers

America's Founding Fathers, beginning with the Declaration of Independence, were overwhelmingly devout Christians, scholars of the Bible, historians, and in general learned intellectuals including doctors, lawyers, and businessmen.

Samuel Adams, known as the Father of the American Revolution, declared, as the Declaration of Independence was being signed: "We have this day restored the Sovereign to Whom all men ought to be obedient. He reigns in heaven and from the rising to the setting of the sun, let His kingdom come."

John Quincy Adams, 6th President of the United States, declared on July 4th, 1821: "The highest glory of the American Revolution was this; it connected in one indissoluble bond the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity."

The Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution fit hand-in-glove together. In a word, the Declaration established the divine purpose for government in which individual citizen's personal freedoms were considered sacred; the Constitution established the legal framework to achieve that end.

Man's fallen nature

The Constitution is unique and without precedence in the history of governments in that whereas personal freedom is its centerpiece, the founders and signers recognized, as Christians, the fallen nature of man and his propensity to enslave his fellow man if given power ("power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely").

Our Constitution - protecting man from himself

Thus a system of checks and balances was adopted a/k/a Legislative, Executive, Judicial (Isaiah 33:22) which would make degeneration into tyranny impossible. That is, unless the voting public (by concept the REAL government, the political government being their servant) did itself degenerate, and fall away from awareness of, and obedience to, the duties and responsibilities mandated of them by the Author of Liberty Himself, Jesus Christ. This eternal vigilance begins at the door step of the clergy. Thus the expression, "As goes the church, so goes the nation."

Freedom is anchored in obedience to Christ

There's no getting around it: the life and death struggles today - the conflicts between freedom and tyranny, essentially boil down to the concepts of man-over-man vs the God of the Bible over man.

The Constitution is not a secular instrument.

All of its Articles and its Bill of Rights were subject to the biblical test before they were considered for incorporation in the Constitution.

In fact, the Constitution concludes with the phrase "the year of our Lord":

Done in Convention, by the unanimous consent of the States present, the seventeenth day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven."

HITLER, OBAMA and ROMANS 13: 1-4

Is Romans 13:1-4 "religion", or hard core politics about freedom and government tyranny?

Hitler and his German collaborating pre-Nazi clergy used their perversion of Romans 13 to justify Christian non involvement in government and their non-resisting subordination to tyranny...in the name of God.

Obama is attempting through the misnamed Fairness Doctrine and hate crimes to extinguish or outlaw Christians who contend that involvement in government is their incontestable sacred duty.

The Dedicated Minority

Obama knows well that it is the dedicated minority which determines the rise of nations to freedom, or their descent into slavery. He knows that in America, just in pre-Nazi Germany, the Christian clergy can be used to confuse, neutralize and paralyze Christians whose Romans 13 mandates from Christ Himself demand their involvement in government freedom affairs. These are Christians who understand that the so-called "separation of church and state" is a farse fabricated to preempt Christian duty to our government and to resist those who would confront forces destructive to it.

A Remnant

Today there is a remnant of such Christians in America who feel the noose of tyranny tightening, and they foresee the dire consequences to their children and loved ones that will crush their liberties, just as happened in Hitler's Germany. America's clergy, excepting a remnant, are aiding Obama by default by their parroting the "separation of church and state" myth, and the freedom-killing misinterpretation of Romans 13.

Romans 13: Curse or Blessing?

So, what IS Romans:13 which opened the Hitler's door to genocide of millions of both Jews and Christians, and paved the way for absolute evil to subjugate an entire nation of men, women and children?

Romans 13:1

Romans 13:1 reads: Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God.

The pre-Nazi clergy and Hitler contended that Romans 13:1 meant that government affairs are in the hands of God, and that while it was a Christian's duty to live a Godly personal life, but it was sin against God's will for Christians to be involved in political affairs of government. Christians who believed God mandated their total involvement in government soon found themselves and their families suffering horrible consequences or even transported to Hitler's death camps.

Romans 13:2

Further justification by Hitler and his clergy was based upon Romans 13:2, which reads: Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

The literal out-of-context interpretation of 13:2 would seem to justify horrible repressive measures against any remnant of freedom-based resistance which resisted the Nazi government's imposition of tyranny upon the citizens.

Where Hitler's clergy right? Are America's clergy today, right in their out-of-context interpretation of Romans 13:1,2?

Romans 13:3

PLEASE NOTE that IN context Romans 13:3 defines God's purpose for government:
For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

Romans 13:4

Christ further defines the role of government as the defender of freedom (not its suppressor):
For he [government-ed] is the minister of God to thee for good [righteousness - ed]. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is a minister of God , a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil ( Rom. 13:4).

Author of Liberty

God is the author of freedom. He is the arch foe of tyranny and slavery. In Romans 13:3 and 4 He specifies that the purpose of government is to promote and defend liberty. That is, government must be founded and structured upon His laws and ordinances of righteousness and freedom. Those who would attempt to extinguish those blessings will be subject to His wrath.
Recall the rubble to which Germany was reduced in a matter of a few years.

Our Christian Republic

America's Bible-based Constitutional Republic recognizes the sinful fallen nature of man as set forth in the Bible, and thus was established upon a system of checks and balances known as Legislative, Judicial and Executive. The citizen's rights are spelled out in the Bill of Rights.

Obama's greatest threat to America

America's government perpetuates the righteousness of God through its biblical essence: "of the people, by the people, for the people". That is, our government is structured to be the servant of her citizens. It is the sacred duty of her citizens under Romans 13:3,4 to be totally involved in all matters of freedom, both personal and national. If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? (Psalm 11:3) That is Obama's greatest threat to America.

Survival - and America's complicit, defiant clergy

America is engaged in a war for her survival as a free nation. Her Christian clergy who stand neutral and intimidated on the great issues of our times such as homosexuality, right-to-life, the national economy, Christian education, or disarming our missile defenses, are on a parallel track with the capitulating clergy of Nazi Germany. They are in blatant defiance of the ordinances of God and paradoxically they justify their silence on the fabricated myth of separation of church and state, and Romans 13:1,2. By default, they are leading our nation to its probable destruction.

Only one way

God has made clear the consequences to America of these abandonment clergy:

All nations that forget God shall be turned into hell (Psalm 9:17).

In Reflection

Is Romans 13 theology, or politics?

To readers who think the above has been simply a discourse in theology: may I remind you that life itself is a continual struggle between the spiritual, ideological, and political realms. They are all inseparably interrelated.

America's political freedom, for example, is a spiritual concept unknown throughout man's bloody history. Ideology also has its roots in theology. Materialism/secular humanism such as Marxism, is at war with Christianity, thus the essence of today's battles is spiritual.

Romans 13, above, is a dissertation about hard core politics. The stakes of the war, if the victor be Marxism - are death, destruction, misery, enslavement for Americans.

If the victor be Christianity, the outflowing will be personal freedom, subordination of government to again become the servant of America's citizens as ordained by God, not their master; and blessings beyond measure from the Author of liberty, Jesus Christ.

The signs of our times: the imperative for Christian action

So successful has been America's Romans 13/anti "church & state" abandonment clergy, who have abdicated God's mandate to be "watchmen on the wall" (Ezekiel 33:6), that the Obama democrat administration has dazzled millions of Christians with the obvious tyrannical suppression of their God-given freedoms.

Rather than taking biblical corrective action, these would-be remnant Christians are retreating into "end-times, last-days" interpretations of "prophesy" according to Revelation. Many, being leaderless from their clergy, not knowing what to do, devote their time to praying for the "rapture", that they may participate in the great escape before they have to suffer the "tribulation".

America's call to action

America's call to action is obvious. Our prayers must become for Christ to forgive us; for Him to reveal His will to us and empower us with His Holy Spirit to become obedient to His will; and to carry out our Christian duty to our full measure, while still we have the freedom to do so, in His name.

re "gimmie prayers" actually a deceptive, disarming Satan-serving affliction to America's freedoms?

Our God-given nation teeters on the brink of oblivion and a new dark age brought on by moral collapse and possible attack by ICBMs armed with nuclear, chemical, biological or EMP warheads. I witness American Christians, Bible in hand, unconcerned, declaring that prophesy is simply being fulfilled as set forth in the book of Revelation. They reason that "God is in control". Under the leadership of their abandoning clergy they stand idle and impotent as the tidal wave of evil crashes down upon them and their children. Not to worry, though. We "believers" will be raptured out (the great escape) to meet the Lord.

Is There a Limit To Praise, Praise - ONLY?

I hear clergymen on TV and on the radio and in church endlessly praising God for Who He is, for His sovereignty and might. They praise His ability to intercede and save our country and freedoms from their plunge into darkness, tyranny and oblivion - as if Christians are meant to be impotent observers. So stripped of vigilance and militancy has our faith become under the batons of America's abandonment clergy!

More Blessings, Please

Typically, the clergy ask God to forgive our sins and transgressions, thank Him for sending His Son to die on the cross that we "believers" might be saved, and ask Him to continue His blessings upon America..."to save us from ourselves". In short, "thanks for the blessings. Gimmie some more."

There's More?

Is that all God requires of us? For the clergy to honestly preach the reality of our (and our children's) current condition and probable future is not easy. It does not make a preacher popular. Being politically correct under federal threat of committing hate crimes by teaching the truth, becomes exceedingly intimidating and threatening to the clergy, resulting in their church treasury being severely impacted. The gospel of "peace" (when there is no peace) supplants the call to duty and action in the deadly spiritual, ideological and political wars, takes precedence. Every conceivable church social program instigated under the banner of "victorious personal living" dominates the church agenda. The preacher (shepherd) is popular, but in fact he is Pied Pipering his sheep to their destruction.

Hymns of Action

Classic call-to-duty hymns such as "Onward Christian soldiers...forward into battle"; and, "The Battle Hymn of the Republic", are replaced by songs of praise, which we are commanded to sing - but not to the neglect of songs calling forth Godly vigilance.

Even more unpopular and less politically correct is the preacher who risks spelling out the specific battle directives of our Lord which are an integral part of a Christian's obedience to Him.

Mandates For The Faithful To Engage

Teaching the imperative for obedience to God's action mandates in both Testaments - that the faithful engage in the battles for freedom on every front, including government, has been mostly abdicated by the contemporary clergy who, as in pre-Nazi Germany, fall back on a convenient but deadly interpretation of Romans 13.

Only America's Christians Can Save America

Today, only America's Christians, through their obedience to Christ, can save America and her scared freedoms from the inferno into which she is plunging. For readers who think of Christ as a sweet, loving, turn-the-other-cheek Savior, bear in mind the mission statement of Christ: The Son of God was manifested that he might destroy the works of the devil (1 John3:8). Christians are mandated to follow their leader, Christ.

American Christian duty in our crisis world is alien to most people because their clergy have abandoned their sacred duty to teach Christ's mandates for our time.

AMERICAN CHRISTIAN DUTY IN OUR CRISIS WORLD

Is Obama positioning America for a sudden kill by the enemies of freedom?

Today, the alliance between communist and Muslim nations who declare America to be their priority enemy is no secret. In the 1930s at the Lenin School of Political Warfare, famed Soviet political strategist Dimitri Manuilsky delivered the strategic military model for decades to come. Even through contemporary times there has been no retraction of that doctrine by any communist country such as China or Russia. Manuiliski declared:

War To The Hilt...

"War to the hilt between communism and capitalism in inevitable. Today, of course, we are not strong enough to attack. Our time will come... . To win, we shall need the element of surprise. The bourgeoisie will have to be put to sleep. So we shall begin by launching the most spectacular peace movement on record. There will be electrifying overtures and unheard of concessions. The capitalist countries, stupid and decadent, will rejoice to cooperate in their own destruction. They will leap at another chance to be friends. As soon as their guard is down, we will smash them with our clenched fist."

Clenched Fist Kill?

Is Obama positioning America for the sudden clenched-fist kill, as he brings untold wreckage to our way of life and engages in disarmament of our missile defenses? Such policy will render America defenseless against an all-out attack by ballistic missiles carrying chemical, biological, nuclear or EMP (electromagnetic pulse) warheads.

Whose Responsibility?

If so, how is he getting away with it, inasmuch as the President must answer to the American people, 85% being professing Christians?

The Bible (the ultimate source of authority) predicts: For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them... (I Thes. 5:3).

Vast numbers of Christians are taking refuge in their clergy-induced impotence by retreating to a hoped-for "rapture" out of the coming "tribulation". That is, to an anticipated escape from their duties as Christians, in defiance of Christ's mandates to Stand up against the workers of iniquity (Ps 94:16); to Stand fast in the liberty where Christ hath made you free (Gal.5:1); to Occupy till I come (Luke 19:13). .

Is "Love" Passive?

What's worse, they commit this travesty against the mandates of our Lord in the name of "love" (often a passive, mushy term of sentimental affection). Through John, Christ defines "love": This is love, that we walk after His commandments (II John 6). "Walk" is a full action mandate - a mandate for total engagement in the struggles against evil and tyranny. [Note: Freedom is everybody's business: your business; my business; the church's business!]

To erase any doubt or confusion Christ, through John, set forth in I John 2:4, He that saith, I know[love] him and keepeth NOT his commandments, is a liar, and the truth [Christ] is not in him.

IS OBAMA CRIPPLING U.S. MISSILE DEFENSE?

Newsmax.com published today, June 7: "A new report by the National Air and Space Intelligence Center reveals that the missile threat to the U.S. from potentially hostile nations is growing." Is Obama unilaterally disarming America? Who benefits by his focus on reducing America's defenses and taking a chance, when the consequences of just one enemy missile armed with chemical, biological or nuclear warheads, even an EMP (electromagnetic pulse bomb) "getting through" could be so devastating?

Included in the NASIC report:

"...since 2006, North Korea has deployed nearly 50 new missiles with a range of more than 2,000 miles. It has also tested the Taepodong-2 missile, which has a range of 3,400 miles."

The NASIC report cites Iran's April launch of a missile that "can serve as a testbed for long-range ballistic missile technologies."

"China, has 'the most active and diverse ballistic missile development program in the world,' and the number of Chinese ICBM warheads capable of threatening the U.S. is expected to grow to 'well over 100 in the next 15 years.' "

"Russia has increased its arsenal of warheads on its SS-18 ICBMs by 250 in recent years. Russia is also developing new technology "to allow Russian strategic missiles to penetrate missile defense systems," according to the NASIC report... .

"The Pentagon, meanwhile, recently announced that its next budget includes a $1.5 billion cut in missile defense funding."

Mr. Obama, in his presidential campaign, pledged "I will cut investments in our missile defense system", which was exactly opposite of what he should have pledged. But the gullible, uncomprehending, neutralized, peace-loving, spiritually blinded Christians of America bought it under Obama's banner of "change". Change? Did they ask, in what direction?

C-CAMPS FOR POLITICALLY INCORRECT AMERICANS?

Are there signs that Obama policies could lead to concentration camps for American patriots on American soil?

For Americans? That is an increasingly hot issue. There appears to be an abundance of supportive evidence which has found its way to the internet. If it is true, the prospect for countless Americans who are not "politically correct" is truly horrifying.

Before you the readers close your eyes and minds to the possibility of such a pending fate for American patriots and your loved ones, bear in mind the fact that there is no virtue in blind rejection.

What if the evidence you are about to read about the concentration camp perils which may be confronting us is true? Is it possible that this horror actually could happen on American soil and may currently be in formation right under our noses? The question is not whether it could per se happen. History records that the world is drenched in the blood of millions of men, women and children of different nations who refused to heed and understand the signs of their times. Could America be next?

Before you draw any conclusions:

First, resolve to research the REX84 presentation about planned and existing concentration camps on American soil, and thus satisfy yourself as to whether or not the purported evidence has merit, and whether you have a duty to act to do your part to prevent it. To read it, go to GOOGLE Search and type in REX84.

Second, prepare yourself to recognize that man in his spiritually fallen nature is still fully capable of descending to depths of inhumanity necessary to subject his fellow man to a repeat of the horrors of the history of other nations.

For a good primer to REX84, I suggest you go to GOOGLE Search and type in AMERICA - OUR SACRED TRUST, which was our blog essay of March 4/09. It opens with the statement that "The history of the world is the history of a giant slaughter bench". It then defines what is meant by "slaughter bench", and includes examples of the human carnage inflicted upon men, women and children at the hands of their own governments (exclusive of military deaths) by Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot and others.

The central questions: (1) Could man do such things to his fellow men, is thereby answered. (2) Has man done it to his fellow men, is answered. (3) Has there been any exception throughout recorded history? Only in America! (4) Could it happen in America?

Have atrocities been limited to any race, religion, or ethnic group? No! In the 20th century alone millions of Jews and Christians perished in Hitler's death camps and from being hunted down throughout Europe by the SS; Millions of Christians were singled out and killed in China by Mao Tse Tung. Historians have speculated that Stalin took the lives of nearly 100 million of his countrymen. The horrors of his gulag concentration camps mercilessly claimed untold millions. In Poland Hitler murdered thousands of Catholic priests.

ALL of those people who perished had one thing in common: they closed their ears and eyes to the warnings from patriots . They compromised their religious convictions and refused to offer resistance to the loss of their freedoms. They refused to heed the trumpets of the watchmen on the wall (Ezek. 33:3,4), and thus they turned away when they had a chance to resist and defeat the encroaching strangling tyranny.

In America today the Christian faith has been watered down and trivialized, its central militancy abandoned, and its men so feminized that the Lord's mandates to Stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free (Gal.5:1); to Occupy till I come (Luke `19:13); to Stand up against the workers of iniquity (Ps 94:16) ...have long ago fallen from favor as in pre-Nazi Germany. The result has been confusion and uncertainty, loss of discernment and inability to recognize or act against the enslavement of evil. "victorious personal living" has pushed militant eternal vigilance aside.

CONCLUSION re concentration camps in America: In view of world history, the only rational conclusion is that there is nothing new about politically incorrect people being interred in death camps. "Could it happen"? YES! It is a matter of incontestable history. Could it happen in America, as it has in many nations of the world? The answer again is YES, if fallen human nature (man's propensity to enslave his fellow man) gets its way - which can only happen if the Christian church and clergy of America continue to abandon the action mandates of God - the Author of our liberty.

PRAVDA RATES MARXIST OBAMA

American radio commentators and politicians such as Michael Savage and Ambassador Alan Keyes have labeled Obama as a "Marxist/communist", but now Russia's PRAVDA has published a lengthy editorial recognizing what Obama has done for the Marxist cause. This Russian editorial, titled AMERICAN CAPITALISM GONE WITH A WHIMPER, is a MUST-READ in its entirety. To give you an idea of its span of subjects, I'll quote a few sentences from several paragraphs:

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather than the classics.....

DOES OBAMA APPRECIATE THE CHRISTIAN CLERGY?

Obama and the Church; Hitler and the Church

It occurred to me that you readers might find it interesting to speculate that President Obama may well appreciate the Christian church and clergy being as they are today, in the same sense that Hitler appreciated the Christian church as it was in his pre-Nazi Germany (In reality, he held the clergy in utter contempt for its weakness in the face of tyranny). If Obama is in fact a committed Koran-believing Marxist Muslim, he probably appreciates the fact that, thanks to America's clergy, the teeth of definition, enemy identification, duty, and vigilance in the cause of America's sacred God-given freedoms, have been pulled from the church by the clergy. The resulting vacuum has been filled by weak passive tolerance and irresolution in the great freedom issues by the American citizens.

Will Blind, Confused, Irresolute, Weak-willed Christians Be Raptured Out?

How have the clergy accomplished this weakness? By convincing the "sheep" that there's nothing to be concerned about - not to worry, "God is in control" and that in the "twinkling of an eye" the "believers" will be raptured out to an eternity of paradise with Christ. This prevalent "positive-only" non-confrontational disarming pseudo-faith patronizes, but in reality abandons and mocks Christ (and our founding fathers who gave their "lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor" in the Holy cause of freedom). It blinds, neutralizes and confuses the vigilance of Christians toward the oppression and the tyranny of evil. In Hitler's own words, straight out of Mein Kampf, He detailed the reasons why the nation was so vulnerable and ripe for his subjugation:
One of the worst symptoms of decay was the increasing cowardice towards responsibility as well as half-heartedness in all things resulting from it....All these symptoms of decay are ultimately only consequences of the lack of a certain, commonly acknowledged view of life and of the general uncertainty in the judgment and the definition of an attitude towards the various great questions of the time, resulting from it. Therefore, everything, beginning with education, is half-hearted and wavering, shuns responsibility and ends thus in cowardly tolerance of even recognized evils. Dreamy humaneness becomes the fashion, and by a weak surrender to the excrescences and in sparing the individuals, one sacrifices in turn the future of millions.

Hitler's Cross

Irwin W. Lutzer wrote a penetrating classic book titled "Hitler's Cross" in which he showed how Hitler capitalized on the passive clergy-induced weakness of the pre-Nazi church. Hitler was raised a Catholic and knew well the power of the faith. Accordingly he held the clergy and the citizens in contempt for not using the faith to confront evil. Rather, they capitulated, focused on salvation-only and personal virtuous living, thus by default opened the door to Hitler who proceded to gain a stranglehold and eradicate the people's personal freedoms. With utter contempt for the capitulating clergy, who had used a perversion of Romans 13:1-4 to justify non-involvement in government, Hitler sent many of them to his death camps.

Romans 13:1-4 vs "victorious personal living"

In America there have been a number of Paul Revere trumpet blowing clergy (and patriots in general) in recent decades. For the most part, the Christians, mesmerized by pabulum from the pulpits, have ridiculed them, labeled them "extremists", "opportunists" and publicity seekers. Rather than heeding their biblical "watchman on the wall" messages (Ezekiel 33: 4), America's Christians have opted to cop-out of their sacred duty to their country by invoking an inversion of the meaning of Romans 13:1-4 (exactly as did the clergy in pre-Nazi Germany) in favor of the
non-controversial lifestyle popularly termed "victorious personal living".

"Watchman" Dr. R.C. Sproul

One of America's great trumpet-sounding "watchmen", Dr. R. C. Sproul, authored a book, "Classical Apologetics" in which he described the church's condition today:

The church is safe from vicious persecution at the hands of the secularist...So long as the church knows her place and remains quietly at peace on her modern reservation. Let the babes pray and sing and read their Bibles, continuing steadfast in their intellectual retardation; the church's extinction will come not by sword of pillory, but by the quiet death of irrelevance. It will pass away with a whimper not a bang.

...but let the church step off the reservation, let her penetrate once more the culture of the day and the Janus-face of secularism will change from benign smile to savage snarl.

Are Christians "IN this world, not OF it"?

Another cop-out sign of the times running parallel to pre-Nazi Germany is the pious expression, "We're IN this world, not OF it", implying to heck with it because we're here only for an instant in terms of eternity. Dr. Sproul writes:

Other religions may choose a radical denial of this world, seeking asylum in a supratemporal sphere of mystical otherworldliness; but Christianity enjoys no such luxurious option. Attempts by Christians, past and present, to quit this world in ascetic retreat betray a tacit denial of the most elemental principles of the Christian view of creation and redemption.

Intolerable Tolerance

One of the glaring signs of the times is the willingness of Christians to compromise their faith by accepting "tolerance" of the previously intolerable. Dr. Michael Savage wrote: "Your tolerance of the intolerable is actually a reflection of your loss of clarity; your tolerance of virtually everything and your "anything goes" attitude is not a mark of liberalism, its a mark of degeneration of your ability to judge anything."

Does Obama Appreciate the Church?

In the above sense it could be speculated that President Obama does in fact greatly appreciate today's cowardly Christian church because, as with Hitler, it has created the vacuum of irresolution, indecision, uncertainty, passiveness, tolerance and inaction toward evil, which empowers Obama to tighten his socialist Marxist freedom-robbing noose around our necks... if in fact, as we speculated in prior essays, those are his intentions. The clergy have watered down the militancy of the Christian faith which gave us our priceless freedoms, and have paved the way for evil, a carbon copy of how they opened the flood gates to Hitler.

Hate Crimes And Political Correctness

The way is being cleared for the Obama-spearheaded "hate crimes" legislation in which the clergy and citizens, may be arrested for quoting God's exhortations in the Bible about the abomination of homosexuality; and his attack on the First Amendment (free speech) through the Fairness Doctrine, and his attack on the Second Amendment through proposed gun controls.

To be "Politically Correct"

These and other Constitution-destroying freedoms can only succeed if the clergy are neutralized and they take their members and followers down with them. It's known as being "politically correct".

OBAMA AND HITLER: PARALLEL TRACKS?

This is a continuation of my last blog essay, OBAMA AND AMERICA'S DESTINY, which is based on Ye shall know them by their fruits. (Mat.7:16)

Today, historians are increasingly drawing parallels between spiritual and political trends in pre-Nazi Germany, and similar ones in America in recent years. They warn that trends under the Obama Democrat Administration appear to be accelerating with potentially calamitous consequences to America's God-given freedoms. That is, Mr. Obama is not calling America back to her founding roots; rather, he is accelerating her downward plunge.

In my prior blog essays we examined the decay of the church and clergy in America. I called it "Abandonment Theology - the clergy and the decline of American Christianity". Let us now consider some of the political consequences of that abandonment and mocking of God, which were foreshadowed by parallel events in Adolf Hitler's pre-Nazi Germany.

Historian/syndicated radio broadcaster Brannon Howse authored in Worldview Times one of the most thought-provoking treatises I have read titled "26 Similarities Between America and Nazi Germany". Following are a number of excerpts:

(1) Hitler outlawed school prayer in Germany. In 1962, The U.S. Supreme Court did the same for us.

(2) Hitler believed in reincarnation. He even convinced SS officers that by murdering millions of Jews and other "undesirables" they were allowing them to get on with the reincarnation process and come back more quickly in an advanced status. Americans increasingly accept the idea of reincarnation as well as good and bad karma.

(3) Hitler prevented dissenters from using radio to challenge his worldview. Many powerful liberals in America have made clear their intent to reintroduce the "Fairness Doctrine" that would require conservative and religious radio stations to offer equal time to anti-Christian, anti-conservative worldviews.

(4) Pastors who spoke against Hitler's worldview and his murderous regime found themselves on trial and frequently imprisoned for "Abuse of Pulpit." In America, "hate crimes" legislation has the potential to criminalize Christians and pastors who speak out against the homosexual agenda.

This discourse about the accelerating trends on parallel tracks between today's America and Hitler's pre-Nazi Germany will be continued.

OBAMA AND AMERICA'S DESTINY

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. (Mat. 7:15,16)

Much has been said and written about President Obama's motives in bringing calamitous damage to America's foundational institutions including national defense, the sanctity of life, national borders. Many have tagged him a Marxist and socialist. AmbassadorAlan Keyes, PhD, stated in an interview available on YouTube:

"Obama is a radical communist! He's going to destroy this country. We're either going to stop him or the United States of America will cease to exist."

Disarm America

For example, Mr. Obama is shown on YouTube delivering a speech on national defense in which, before he was elected, he said: "I will cut investments in our missile defense system. I will not develop new nuclear weapons; I will take our ICBMs off their trigger alert and achieve deep cuts in our nuclear arsenals. I will slow our development of future combat systems. I will not weaponize space." (Note: missile interceptors can be launched from space, and attacking missiles can be targeted by satellite-based lasers. It's part of our vital SDI -Strategic Defense Initiative.)

Cripple EMP Defense: Invite Enemy Attack

It is worth noting that one of the most devastating weapons is known as "EMP" (electromagnetic pulse). It is a nuclear bomb which is detonated about 200 miles high. It can be delivered by a scud missile launched from a cargo ship off our shores. The electromagnetic pulse can destroy solid state control systems nationwide in everything from central bank computers to electric power grids, to transportation. Scientists claim that one successful detonation could "return America to the 19th century, and make us a sitting duck for foreign invasion." Space based lasers and rockets could intercept and destroy those scud missiles in their launch phase. But Mr. Obama claims determination to compromise America's missile defenses.

Note: To "take our ICBMs off their trigger alert", signals America's enemies that they can launch a first-strike against us and decimate a high percentage of our military personnel and our missile retaliatory capability. By thus signaling our enemies who could, for example, comprise an alliance between massively armed (with ICBMs) Communist China and Russia, we are intentionally handing to them the strategic military advantage. We are telegraphing to them that we have lost the will to win. This could encourage an attack from them and all-but assure their victory (inasmuch as our retaliatory capability would be devastated), with unspeakable consequences to America and the free world.

This, at a time when enemies of America are acquiring (and possess) long range nuclear capability. There can be no substitute for America being prepared for any eventuality and possessing the will to instantly respond, and prevail.

Let The Babies Die!

On Right-to-life, Ambassador Alan Keyes stated in a recent YouTube interview: "Obama is one who has actually advocated infanticide - that when babies are the target of abortion, if they happen to escape the abortionist's intention and are born alive, Obama actually supported the idea that those babies should be set aside to die. That is a man with such a seared conscience I can't even understand why anyone in his right mind would consider him worthy of political support. That's a violation of conscience that is inconceivable. Even some of the most hard-line abortion people in America rejected that abomination, and he doesn't."

Is Obama President?

IS - Mr. Obama President of the United States? Dr. Keyes stated: "According to the Constitution in order to be eligible for President you have to be a natural-born citizen. He has evaded the issue and has refused to provide proof that he is a natural-born citizen."

Borders and Amnesty

Regarding borders, Ambassador Keyes stated: "Rushing forward with ideas like destroying our borders - an amnesty bill that will actually have the American tax payers footing the bill for illegals to come to this country to live, to get housing and everything they want...this is insanity. It's as if we have put insane children and adolescents in charge of our government."

Predictable Obama

CONCLUSION: We have only touched upon national defense, right-to-life, and national borders. If Alan Keyes is right, that Obama is a radical communist, then Obama is as predictable as a Marxist communist would be. "We disdain to conceal our views." (Marx, Communist Manifesto)

America's Predictable Destiny

It appears that America's destiny of plunging into a dark abyss under the baton of Mr. Obama is also predictable.

ABANDONMENT THEOLOGY - WHAT IS IT?

Part II following THE NEUTRALIZED "IRRELEVANT" CHURCH: Abandonment Theology is a term devised by the author to describe a faith which deceptively pawns itself off as Christianity by operating in the name of Christ but which produces fruits destructive to America's God-given freedoms. It comprises what is left today of the militant, power-filled, full-dimensional Christian faith of America's Founders after decades of erosion, watering down and trivializing of God's action mandates by America's abandonment clergy. It is "feel good" theology that patronizes Jesus Christ and thereby gains legitimacy while at the same time producing disobedience to the commands of God and desetion of Christian duty. Abandonment Theology is so deadly that we are losing our liberties, and evil is triumphing in nearly every aspect of life. A terrible spiritual blindness has come over millions of unsuspecting, victimized Christians who in turn have even allowed God, the Author of our liberties, to be outlawed in our nation's public schools and institutions.

Through decades of erosion, the Abandonment clergy have succeeded in extracting from Christians the teeth of vigilance, of action, of obedience to God. If the clergy taught their flocks to Fear God and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man (Eccl. 12:13), America would not be plunging into the dark abyss as she is doing today. Instead of the clergy's focus being primarily on "victorious personal living", it should have led the people to vigilantly guard the sacred institutions of their American Constitutional Republic and not fall for the evil propaganda about separation of church and state, unable to distinguish it from the inseparability of righteous freedom-based government from God.

That is, as 6th President of the United States John Quincy Adams said on July 4, 1821: "The highest glory of the American Revolution was this: it connected in one indissoluble bond the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity".

The great theologian Dr. R.C. Sproul described America's defection from militancy, and the neutralization of her Christians by the clergy:

"The church is safe from vicious persecution at the hands of the secularist...So long as the church knows her place and remains quietly at peace on her modern reservation. Let the babes pray and sing and read their Bibles, continuing steadfast in their intellectual retardation; the church's extinction will come not by sword or pillory, but by the quiet death of irrelevance. It will pass away with a whimper not a bang".

In his famous book "The Gathering Storm", British Prime Minister Winston Churchill reflected upon why world war II which claimed 50 million lives, had been possible at all. The parallels between Churchill's England and today's undiscerning America are alarming:

The malice of the wicked, he said, was reinforced by the weakness of the virtuous.

ABANDONMENT THEOLOGY (once militant Christianity) may soon take a terrible toll as a consequence of the clergy's disarming the Christians of their understanding of the nature of our battle for the survival of our God-given freedoms against the destructive, enslaving evil of the devil.

ANNOUNCEMENT: I will write a sequence of blog essays on the subject of what is meant by, "As goes the church, so goes the nation". As the Christian church has descended into becoming primarily a politically neutral social institution dedicated to teaching its members the art of "victorious personal living", it has by default opened the flood gates to the onslaught of anti-Christian freedom-destroying political liberalism. So prevalent is the desertion by America's clergy of the militant full-dimensional faith of America's founding fathers which gave us our Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution, that it's as if it today's Christianity is a strange new theology. So, I'll call it ABANDONMENT THEOLOGY.

DID DR. JAMES DOBSON SURRENDER?

Focus On The Family's founder Dr. James Dobson resigned his powerful position by sounding his trumpet of surrender and defeat and demoralization to Christians. He announced, no doubt to the encouragement of America's enemies both internal and external, that we have "lost" the culture wars, and that the United States is "awash in evil".

No doubt Dr. Dobson was expounding his personal viewpoint based upon his extensive knowledge of the unbelievably sudden triumphs of the enemies of America's God-given freedoms.

Newt Gingrich summed up those victories in an April 29 editorial titled 100 Days of Devastatingly Swift Success, concerning President Obama's undermining of our Constitutional Republic, moving America toward a European model of government control, weakening America on the world stage through his verbal assaults on our country, and his stated objective of militarily disarming our missile defenses by 25%. Of course, that is only the opening assault from the Obama democrat administration. Worse still, 95% of the democrats in the congress are in lock step with Obama.

Dr. Dobson has dedicated his life to influencing Americans in the way and truth of Christ, and no doubt is exceedingly alarmed and discouraged by what he sees happening. It's easy to stand back and speculate about what he should have said in his retirement speech, but allowing myself that unmerited luxury, here's the theme I wish he had projected:

His call should have been to the faithful to come forth and stand and fight for our God-given freedoms as never before. His call should have been for them to Stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free (Gal. 5:1) ; to ...stand up against the workers of iniquity (Ps 94:16); to be the ...salt of the earth...the light of the world (Mat. 5:13,14,16) , reminding them of Christ's mandate to Occupy till I come (Luke 19:13) .

He should have reminded them that in times like these The righteous are bold as a lion (Prov. 28:1); that we are to Preach the word, be instant in season, and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine (II Tim.4:1-2). Dobson should have exhorted that the faithful are to Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things that thou knowest not (Jer 33:3).

James Dobson should have reminded Christians of the power they actually have, IF they will use it: I give you power...over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). Be strong in the Lord. and in the power of his might (Eph 6:10).

Dobson could have injected power into our cause of liberty by reminding us of Christ's mission statement: The Son of God was manifested that he might destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8).

WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO HIS BOLD, FEARLESS CHRISTIAN FAITH, that such a noted spokesman and leader would seemingly toss in the towel of surrender by default?

Or did he?

Knowing Dr. Dobson's work and character as I do, my speculation is that he will soon rise above his apparent discouragement and will come back into the national and world arenas with a John Paul Jones ("I have not yet begun to fight!") resolve to rally America's Christians (his millions of followers) to the action fronts where they belong and where Christ commands them to be.

WORLD CITIZEN vs AMERICAN FREEDOM

British Statesman George Canning said it: "A steady patriot of the world alone, a friend of every country but his own".

America's soverignty could be lost to the United Nations or, with the full implementation of The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) between Mexico, the United States and Canada. In effect, it dissolves our northern and southern borders.

Consequence: "Christian America" and her citizens' God-given personal freedoms will be history. That is, "change" will have taken its toll. When political candidates call for "change", the voting citizens need to ask, "in what direction...toward what form of government?"

Fidel Castro advocated CHANGE. Joseph Stalin brought about CHANGE. Mao Tse-tung was a proponent of CHANGE; Adolf Hitler enforced CHANGE.

CHANGE spilled more blood and produced more genocide in the 20th century than in world history.

What change does Obama advocate for America's borders and sovereignty? What ultimate form of government does he envision? Did the "change" voters ask?

What CHANGES do the American citizens want who voted for Obama to be their President?

SECULAR HUMANISM AND AMERICA'S EDUCATION DISASTER

This is a continuation of my recent blog essay, WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO OUR KIDS?

The anti-God cancer of relative moral standards has had a devastating impact on all of life in America as it planted its roots deeply into our schools and education system. In the early 1920s, Dr. John Dewey, professor at Columbia University and a founder of the American Humanist Association, introduced a concept termed "Progressive Education" which spread throughout our nation's public school system. He held that:

"There is no God and there is no soul. Hence, there are no needs for the props of traditional religion. With dogma and creed excluded, then immutable truth is also dead and buried. There is no room for fixed, natural law or moral absolutes."

So far-reaching was Dewey-ite secular humanism that the noted contemporary theologian Dr. D. James Kennedy summarized the consequences:

"Little wonder that the Dewey-ite secular humanists who have led education in this country for the past 50 years have helped to produce a veritable slime pit of immorality, drug addiction, sexual perversion, permissiveness, and diseases of every sort...effects that, according to the eminent educator, Professor Jacques Barzun, have resulted in turning the once proud and efficient public school system of the United States 'into a wasteland where violence and vice share the times with ignorance and idleness."

Karl Marx, author of the Communist Manifesto, wrote: "My objective in life is to dethrone God...".

The youth of America are a sacred trust to us from God. They are America's future. What have the churches been doing during this protracted assault upon the minds and spirits of America's young people?

THEY THAT HATE YOU SHALL REIGN OVER YOU (Lev.26:14)

The liberal, the evolutionist tells us and teaches in the classroom, that "the only constant is change". But the Lord makes it clear that there are absolutes which must be obeyed by men and nations who wish to be free. In Leviticus 26:14,17 He warns, as He does throughout the scriptures: If ye will not harken unto me, and will not do all these commandments; I will set my face against you...: they that hate you shall reign over you;...

Christians and those who believe the biblical account of creation and the origin of life in all kingdoms, believe the Old and New Testaments: Heaven and earth shall pass away, but the word of the Lord [his truth] endureth to all generations. (Matthew 24:25; Psalm 100:5)

Events change. Circumstances change. But our Creator's laws of liberty do not change. Thus after thousands of years of brutal tyranny and bloody history and struggle between nations of the world, America's Christian founding fathers searched the holy scriptures for the divine laws of liberty as revealed by our Creator and by Christ Himself, and against seemingly impossible odds gave birth to a nation whose Constitution became the envy of the world.

Thomas Jefferson, who penned the Declaration of Independence, opened it with: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal. That they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, ....".

Note his term "truths". According to the Bible, Christ is truth (John 14:6). Next he acknowledged that there are divine, fixed, eternal, unchanging absolutes: "They are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights..." (Inalienable means unchanging, unchangable).

That is to say, our right to freedom is not granted by the state, which can change from tyranny to tyranny. Rather, it is an eternal God-given right which must be jealously fought for, and defended against the ever present evil in our world described in Romans 3:15-18: Their feet are swift to shed blood: destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace they have not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes.

Jefferson, reflecting the collective faith of the founding fathers as well as his own, proclaimed these words which can be found inscribed in the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C.: "God who gave us life gave us liberty ".

The bonding agent in the American Revolution and the U.S. Constituition was the belief of the people that the God of the Bible, manifested through Jesus Christ, was(is) the Author of liberty, and that political freedom and spiritual freedom are inseparable.

John Quincy Adams, 6th President of the United States, summed it up on July 4th, 1821:
"The highest glory of the American Revolution was this: it connected in one indissoluble bond the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity".

By contrast the French Revolution had a high sounding purpose of freedom, but ended in a bloodbath and in a succession of unstable freedom-destroying governments. French historian Alexis de Tocqueville wrote, "In France I had almost always seen the spirit of religion and the spirit of freedom marching in opposite directions."

America's founding fathers in no way advocated the establishment of a theocracy. They wrote a Constitution guaranteeing freedom of religion. They stressed the imperative for the influence of the God of the Bible, the Author of liberty, in every dimension of civil and personal life. Thus, lest future generations forget, they engraved Bible verses on all of the federal buildings including the Capitol, the Library of Congress, the Supreme Court, and upon completion the Washington Monument - all the way up the stairs and on the its cap. Lest we forget, they even imprinted "In God We Trust" on our coinage. In 1892 the U.S. Supreme Court declared: "This is a Christian nation".

Yes, ours is a nation structured on the absolute unchanging laws of liberty set forth in the Bible.
The "liberal" in proclaiming "the only constant is change", represents the antithesis of the greatness of America. The Christian proclaims "the only constant is the truth of Jesus Christ".

Today many Americans learned in world history are increasingly alarmed about the apparent calculated attacks by President Obama and his liberal democrat administration upon our fundamental institutions of freedom. They are slapping their heads in despair over the apparent weakness and confusion of the voting public. For decades the Christian foundations of our God-given country have been allowed to erode under the relentless attacks of Godless secular humanists. There is a parallel in recent history:

At the end of WWII British Prime Minister Winston Churchill reflected upon how that horrible war, which claimed 50 million lives, could have happened at all. He wrote in "The Gathering Storm",

"The malice of the wicked was reinforced by the weakness of the virtuous".

The key word is "reinforced", which means emboldened, encouraged. No wonder Obama is
increasingly in the attack mode, even declaring his destructive (to freedom) political objectives.

IS SURRENDER EVER AUTHORIZED BY GOD?

Nowhere in the Scriptures are we authorized to surrender, to give up, to retire from the battles against the death-dealing workers of iniquity which God describes: Their feet are swift to shed blood: destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace they have not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes (Rom. 3:15-18). God further describes Satan: ...your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:... (1 Pet. 5:8).

Are you frustrated, confused, feeling beaten down by the horrible events worldwide and nationally which are reported daily in the news? Many interpret them as signs of the "end times". IS THERE HOPE? Would God have us throw in the towel in despair?

(1) When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shalt be obedient unto His voice; (For the Lord thy God is a merciful God;..) he will not forsake you, neither destroy thee,... (Deut. 4:30-31).

(2) At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and destroy it; If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them (Jer. 18:7,8).

(3) If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land ((II Chron. 7:14).

The above three promises of God our Creator are as good and valid today as when they were written. Why? Because: Heaven and earth shall pass away, but the Word of the Lord endureth to all generations (Mat. 24:35; Ps 100:5).

Today, much of the Christian church is in shambles, leaderless and confused even over issues of church and state, and what influence God the Author of our political and personal freedoms should have in the affairs of government. (Do you realize that no article proposed for the U.S. Constitution would be considered by the founders unless it first passed the biblical test for origin? For example, the triune (executive, legislative, judicial) checks and balances structure of our new Constitutional republic was based upon Isaiah 33:22).

America was born in the pulpits, and there America will perish as a result of abandonment by a neutralized, disobedient clergy, of their mandate to teach Christ's commandments to duty and action in every dimension of life; unless we the church demand that our clergy substitute ear-tickling pabulum from the pulpit with Christ's energizing mandates to action.

PERILOUS TIMES-WHAT DOES GOD WANT FROM CHRISTIANS?

This could also be titled "The Prophesy Trap". Christians are feeling lost and confused and impotent as they witness the calamities into which a seemingly godless President Obama is plunging America and our children.

Should Christians sit back and resolve that prophesy is being fulfilled and that there is nothing we can do about it? Should they resolve, Oh well, God is in control...He knows what He is doing", and restrict their work and efforts primarily to social programs? Should they pray for the great escape through the coming "rapture" of the church, and pray that they are not "left behind" with the unbelievers?

Just how much power do Christians actually have, and what does God command (not just want) us to do with it?

How much power?: I give you power... over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19).
From Genesis through Revelation God, the Author of libery repeats Himself so that believers can have no doubt as to their power over Satan and the workers of iniquity.

WHAT GOD REQUIRES of believers is action, action, action. He makes it clear that prayers and songs of love and praise are shallow and meaningless unless we are obedient to His mandates to the faithful: This is love, that we walk after His commandments (2 John6). ("Walk" is a term designating unflinching commitment.) Then He (Christ) warns, He that saith I know Him, and keepeth not His commandments, is a liar, and the truth [Christ] is not in him (1 John 2:4). In other words, we are cautioned not to patronize Christ through our declarations of love, then be lukewarm or outright disobedient. I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth (Rev. 3:15,16).

Many offer up prayers of praise and seeming faith, which are void of a petition for empowerment that we may be obedient: . But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead (James 2:20)? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone (James 2:17).

Martin Luther

Dr. Luther thus summarized the biblical mandates from God Himself to parents:

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it (Prov. 22:6).

And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy might (Deut.6:5). And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart (Deut. 6 :6) And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up (Deut.6:7). It is imperative that "love" is not understood to be a term denoting soft sentimentalism. Rather, it is a full-action mandate from God to all believers known in contemporary terms as "tough love".

This is love, that we walk after His commandments (2 John 6). To make God's definition of love absolutely clear, the Lord exhorts: He that saith, I know [love] him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth [Christ] is not in him (1 John 2:4).

My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life (Prov. 4, 20-23).

Without the Word [truth] of God being instilled in the hearts of youth, they will be no match for the corruption and misery brought by the devil:

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8).

The famous theologian, D. James Kennedy, DD, summed up the consequences of the abandonment by parents of America's school system, which resulted in the disarming (of vigilance) of our youth:

"Little wonder that the Dewey-ite secular humanists who have led education in this country for the past 50 years have helped to produce a veritable slime pit of immorality, drug addiction, sexual perversion, permissiveness, and diseases of every sort...Effects that, according to the eminent educator, Professor Jacques Barzun, have resulted in turning the once proud and efficient public school system of the United States "into a wasteland where violence and vice share the times with ignorance and idleness".

The above described tragedy and travesty to America's youth and school system and to the national security of America itself, is what the Christian home-school associations are desperately attempting to counter.

What did Jesus Christ declare about Himself directly and through the prophets?

II Cor. 3:17 Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. Christ declared himself to be the Author of liberty.

Gal.5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Again, Christ declared Himself to be the Author of liberty. It is argued, correctly, that this verse refers to both Spiritual liberty from the bondage of sin and corruption, and political freedom. In the wake of Spiritual liberty comes the revelation and power of truth, which is the mortal enemy of political tyranny. Jesus Christ and America's political liberties, in particular our priceless personal freedoms, are inseparable. French historian and statesman Alexis deTocqueville, after visiting America and searching for the source of her great prosperity, invincible strength, and personal freedoms wrote: "Americans combine the notions of Christianity and of liberty so intimately in their minds, that it is impossible to make them conceive of one without the other".

COULD AMERICA HAVE BEEN FOUNDED BY ANOTHER RELIGION?

Today it is widely taught that "All religions are basically the same," that their prophets teach the same basic moral and legal codes. But, are they the same? Except for similar moral codes, can any "religion" be equated to Christianity?

If so, why haven't other religions produced a declaration of independence or constitution which exalt and protect the individual, declaring that he is created in the image of God and thus has a God-given right to be politically free; made the tyrant tremble and established invincible military forces to protect those freedoms as did America's Christian founding fathers?

What's the difference? Why and how does Christianity liberate men from the bondage of sin, corruption and political tyranny while by historical and contemporary contrast other religions tend to subordinate the individual to enslaving systems of freedom-denying tyranny, or worse?

The difference lies in the person of Jesus Christ. Biblical Christianity is absolutely unique in the nature of its central personage and founder, Jesus Christ. There is none other like Him in all of history or even in all literature. Some writers, of course, presume to place Christ as merely one in a list of great religious leaders, but this is absurd. He stands in contrast to all others, not in line with them, not even at the head of the line. His uniqueness is illustrated in the following partial list of His attributes:

Anticipation of His coming. His coming was prophesied in fine detail as to lineage, birthplace, time, career, purpose, nature of death, resurrection, etc., hundreds of years prior to His actual appearance. There has never been any other religious leader - indeed, no other man - in all of history for which this was true.

The virgin Birth. Christ's virgin birth stands entirely alone; nothing like it was ever imagined elsewhere, thence He was born in a fully natural human birth with no actual genetic connection to human parents.

His Divine Human Nature. For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him (Col 1:16). Not even power-crazed tyrants and fanatics who have claimed to be god imagined that they had created the heavens and the earth and dominions and principalities.

Sinless: Of no one else in history could the claim ever be made in seriousness that he lived a whole lifetime without one sin in thought or word or deed. But this very thing was claimed by Jesus' closest friends, by his worst enemies, by the greatest of the apostles and by Jesus Himself. Peter said, He did no sin (l Peter 2:22), and John said In Him is no sin (1 John 3:5). Judas said,
I have betrayed the innocent blood (Mat. 27:4), and Pilot said, I find in him no fault at all (John 18:38).
Unique Teachings. The Sermon On The Mount is without parallel. The beauty and power of the Upper Room discourse, the compelling majesty of the Sermon on the Mount of Olives, the power of His parables, and all His other teachings are separated by a great gulf from even the finest teachings of other men.
His Unique Death. He said, It is finished, and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost (John 19:30). Literally, He dismissed His Spirit. It is evidently quite a difficult task even to commit suicide, but certainly no one can simply decide to die and then, by his mere volition, proceed to die. But Jesus did! He said, No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself (John 10:18).
His Resurrection. Other religions of the world (including Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Confucianism, Animism, Shintoism, Taoism, etc.) were founded by men who were, unlike Christ, sinful men. These founders are all in their graves, defeated by man's last enemy. Christ alone rose from the grave and defeated death.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal. That they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights...". Note that Jefferson used the term created, he did not say evolved (which would imply evolutionary dog-eat-dog survival of the fittest, Darwinian style); thus our freedoms are not granted by government, but by God. The purpose of our Christian-based government is to protect those rights and freedoms.

The supreme test of any article proposed to be adopted into the new Constitution, was biblical scrutiny, that is, whether the proposed article was rooted in the truth of the Bible.

In fact, the very essence of our U.S. Constitution's system of checks and balances - legislative, executive, judicial- was derived from the Bible (Isaiah 33:22), of which the centerpiece, from Genesis through Revelation, is Jesus Christ.

The Real Founder of America

Who was the real founder of America? Was it an assemblage of the Fathers, the clergy and the colonists? Was it an "expositor" of the Scriptures such as John Calvin, whose revolutionary insights crystallized into many of the personal freedoms we know today? Was it Martin Luther, who broke the papal tyranny and began the Protestant Reformation? Perhaps it was the Reverend John Wycliffe who in 1382 helped bring the Dark Ages to a conclusion by translating the Bible from Latin into English for the common man and discovered in the Scriptures the principle of government "of the people, by the people, and for the people."

In spite of their vast contributions which culminated in America's freedoms, none of these men ever claimed any role other than that of "expositor" or "translator" of the Bible. We can therefore draw no other conclusion than that Jesus Christ, beginning with the triumph of His resurrection, was the real Author of America's freedoms - the true Founder of America.

Christ was the bedrock and centerpiece of the living, power-filled (Spirit-filled) invincible faith of the Fathers. It was the colonists and their Christian clergy who brought forth our Declaration of Independence and our American Constitutional Republic.

AMERICA - OUR SACRED TRUST

Introduction

A political science professor opened his class with these words: "The history of the world is the history of a gigantic slaughter bench".

A "Slaughter Bench"?

Q: What, in that context, is a slaughter bench? A: It is a description of the unspeakable atrocities and carnage which men throughout recorded history have committed against each other both on the battlefield, and off the battlefield as in genocide of men, women and children by their own governments.

Lethal Politics

Professor R.J. Rummel wrote in "Lethal Politics" (his book of 20th Century statistics about genocide and mass murder since 1900) that "... three times more men, women and children died at the hands of their own governments than in wars. Millions died by torture, beatings and starvation, genocide and executions in merciless ways. Independent of war and other kinds of conflict - governments have murdered 119,400,000 people - Marxist governments about 95,200,000 of them. By comparison, the battle killed in all foreign and domestic wars in this century total 35,700,000."

Millions died under Stalin during "The Great Terror Period". In Cambodia half the population was destroyed in Marxist Pol Pot's "Ethnic Cleansing." Marxist/communist China's Mao Tse Tung murdered over 20,000,000. Mao hunted down and murdered Christians and clergy. Hitler decreed to destroy every Jew in Europe. Millions perished. In Hitler's drive to conquer Russia ("Operation Barbarosa") 26,000,000 people were killed. In a word, more soldiers plus men, women, and children perished in the 20th century than since the beginning of recorded history. In describing military warfare alone, Major General John K. Singlaub referred to that warfare as "...the most horrible violence the minds of men can create...".

The professor was right in declaring that "the history of the world is the history of a gigantic slaughter bench". America, founded on the doctrine of Jesus Christ - the Author of liberty, is truly a sacred trust to her citizens.

Divine Blessings of Liberty

In retrospect, and even in today's world, no nation's citizens have ever been so blessed as have Americans with life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, individual freedoms and prosperity. Such previously unimagined rights were made possible at America's founding only because our government "of the people, by the people, and for the people" was structured upon a Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution that were founded upon the divine laws of the Bible.

200 Year Standoff - Freedom vs Tyranny

The miracle which has given our U.S. Constitution its endurance for over 200 years is the recognition by its Christian fathers of the fallen nature of man and his propensity toward tyranny over his fellow man. In 1877 English politician/historian, Lord Acton, wrote this now-famous statement: "Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely" which has come to be accepted as a truism.

Isaiah 33:22 Executive, Legislative, Judicial

The obvious paramount question before the founders was: how could they form a government that would maximize freedom for the individual citizens, be governed by the citizens, yet not degenerate into a dictatorship such as a monarchy, oligarchy, or some form of corruption-prone tyranny over the people? They searched the Bible and found the answer in Isaiah 33:22: a trinity of checks and balances upon which they structured the Constitution: executive, legislative, judicial. That concept of protecting man against himself so that when one branch of government becomes corrupted the other two can overrule and checkmate it, was unique and unprecedented in the history of governments.

Bonded by Christian Faith

Our government and freedoms would not have been possible had the founders not been bonded by their Christian faith. In fact, the historical record shows that no proposed Article in the Constitution would be considered unless it first passed the biblical test for its origin.

For decades, enemies of America's freedoms, in an effort to confuse the American citizens and weaken their resolve to be "eternally vigilant" in the defense of those sacred freedoms, have attempted to discredit the faith of well-known fathers such as Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, and George Washington.

Deists, Secularists, Atheists

The antagonists have included deists, seculars, atheists such as Marxists, agnostics, cultists and persons unlearned; that is, persons apparently committed to digging for scraps of evidence which may refute the historical record 0f the courageous Christian faith of the fathers and their willingness to die for the sacred cause of freedom. As the signers of the Declaration of Independence wrote, to that cause they committed their "lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor". Succeeding generations became the beneficiaries and the trustees of the God-give blessings of liberty.

Perhaps the Christian commitment and zeal of America's founders and her citizens could be best summarized in the July 4, 1821 Independence Day celebration words of John Quincy Adams, 6th President of the United States, son of founder John Adams:

Scriptures In Stone

The Bible and the righteousness of God were the centerpiece of early American life and education. In fact, the founders even carved verses from the Holy Scriptures into all of the national buildings and monuments in the capital of this nation, even into the walls of Library of Congress and the White House and later upon its completion the Washington Monument. Engraved in stone above the head of the Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court are the Ten Commandments with the Great American Eagle protecting them.

Upon examination of the documents by which our land was founded, and the addresses of all of the Presidents in their inaugurals, and written into the constitutions of all fifty of our states, you will find unimpeachable evidence of the official commitment of this land to a belief in the living God, and His Son Jesus Christ.

U.S. Supreme Court - America Is A Christian Nation

In fact, the 1892 landmark case of "Church of the Holy Trinity v. United States" attests specifically to the Christian founding and essence of America:

"Our laws and our institutions must necessarily be based upon and embody the teachings of the Redeemer of mankind. It is impossible that it should be otherwise; and in this sense and to this extent our civilization and our institutions are emphatically Christian...This is a religious people. This is historically true. From the discovery of this continent to the present hour, there is a single voice making this affirmation...we find everywhere a clear recognition of the same truth...These, and many other matters which might be noticed, add a volume of unofficial declarations to the mass of organic utterances that this is a Christian nation."

Thomas Jefferson, often charged with being a "deist", authored the Declaration of Independence in which he wrote these words: ...all men are created equal. Note that he did not say or imply "evolved". "Created" requires a Creator.

On May 24, 1774 Jefferson led the Virginia House of Burgesses to declare a Day of Fasting, which is only observed by people who believe in a personal God.

Attesting to his personal faith, Jefferson declared "...it (the Bible) is a document in proof that I am a Christian; that is to say, a disciple of the doctrines of Jesus."

George Washington, The "father" of America, kept a diary into which he wrote his prayers. Following are two excerpts:

Accept me for the merits of thy son Jesus Christ.

Direct my thoughts, words and work, wash away my sins in the immaculate Blood of the Lamb, and purge my heart by Thy Holy Spirit...Daily frame me more and more unto the likeness of Thy Son, Jesus Christ, that living in Thy fear, and dying in Thy favor, I may in Thy appointed time attain the resurrection of the just unto eternal life. Bless my family, friends and kindred, and unite us all in praising and glorifying Thee in all our works.

Christ - The Actual Founder of America

In conclusion - the framers of the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, acknowledged Jesus Christ to be the Author of liberty, to the extent that historians have claimed that the actual founder of America was Christ Himself through the founders.

It has been said that America today is a beacon of hope and light in an increasingly dark and despotic world.

Christian Duty In Crisis America

Speaking of America's increasingly perilous future, a famous Presbyterian theologian, Dr. D. James Kennedy (Coral Ridge Ministries, Fort Lauderdale, Florida) summarized our nation's condition and our Christian duties:

We have lived on the sacrifices of those who have gone before, but now it comes down to us...to you and to me.

Enemy Identification By Discerning Citizens

There are many expressions such as "As goes the church, so goes the nation" which are actually indictments of contemporary "positive-only, feel-good", politically passive, financial prosperity-based politically impotent clergy, and church members who ignore the action mandates of Christ such as Stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made you free (Gal. 5:1). By intent they turn a deaf ear to Christ's mission statement: The Son of God was manifested that He might destroy the works of the devil (1John3:8). Christ is the Christian's leader and example.

Imperative For Biblical Discernment

Unless free people maintain their awareness of the ongoing battle between the forces of righteousness and evil they will lose their ability for discernment. Confusion will reign, thus they will be unable to define their mortal enemies and will become easy victims for the masters of deceit. They will be unable to obey God's mandates to be "watchmen on the wall" and to act.

Imperative For Eternal Vigilance

Our freedoms were purchased at a horrific price of blood and sacrifice, and only if that banner of courage is carried forward will America prevail in the fast accelerating struggles for our sacred trust of freedom.

Why Biblical References About Current Political Issues

The question has been raised concerning my many biblical references in my blogs about hot, sizzling, current political issues. And, they are going to get a lot hotter. That is, how could any source as seemingly ancient and outdated as the Bible apply with certainty today to our nation's life and death struggles?

Atheists, humanists, political liberals such as Marxists claim that there are no absolutes; that "the only constant is change", that everything, including ethics (sometimes termed "situational ethics"), is determined by circumstances.

By direct contrast, the Bible makes it clear that issues change, events change, circumstances change, but God is absolute, and His laws of liberty (which include the Ten Commandments upon which western civilization has been built) never change. I am the Lord. I do not change (Malachi 3:6). Heaven and earth shall pass away, ...but the word [Law] of the Lord endureth to all generations (Mat. 24:35 and Psalm 100:5).

It is noteworthy that the Bible, from Genesis through Revelation, gives many accountings of the rise and fall of nations throughout history from the creation, inevitably in cycles that can be measured by their adherence to or rejection of the Word and Laws of God. All nations that forget God shall be turned into hell (Psalm 9:17).

That is what is happening to America today. The purpose of my blogs is to demonstrate that the Laws of liberty set forth in the scriptures are as relevant today as they were in times past.

Note that throughout the Old and New Testaments God references the same Laws and offers therein the same solutions and pathways to freedom. Only the settings and circumstances change. Be careful not to confuse spiritual freedom as being distinguished from political freedom. They are inseparable because inevitably a great surge and quest for political freedom follows in the wake of spiritual freedom. America's founding fathers recognized that fact, wrote volumes about it, and even engraved passages from the Bible into the cornerstones of the federal buildings. Songs of the nation such as "My country, tis of thee" (Christ), became standards for generations.
