I’ve gotta be honest with you though, I’m not a big fan of twilight, only because I don’t quite appreciate the way the 1st movie was staged. Some parts are too choppy, some are too monotonous, some are too .. poeitic? Not to mention, the whole movie looks like it’s filtered through a cyan colored-lens.

Though I’ve got friends gushing over it and bought the DVD from the Connaught pasar malam right after the movie, only to be disappointed by the lousy quality. Buttt, not everyone appreciates movies like Phantom of the Opera and Les Choristes like I do. So before any twilight fan bashes me up the next time you see me in any pasar malam, we’re even to this point, yea? =)

However, I’ve got friends telling me the twilight novels are absolute treasures. So good that it can be re-read. Over and over again. And the movie just don’t do justice to the twilight saga. Hey, I’ve got guy friends reading it too!

So it must be really really good right?

Looking at the cast line-up, plus the trailer, I must say I’m feeling the heat! Step aside you cold-blooded vampire, the hold-blooded wolves are here!

The trailer itself does promise us a more action-packed love-hungry intensified movie! And man, I just can’t wait to catch this movie and see what it has to offer. And maybe this movie might jump-start my interest in the twilight novels.

And I also can’t wait to catch the all grown up Dakota Fanning in the movie! Fuh~ I almost thought she’ll stay that little forever!

I don’t think I gotta tell you what’s this movie all about. But if you really do not have any idea of what it’s about I can summarise it for you. Sultry hot human Bella meets Sexy cold vampire Edward. Edward stays away from Bella to protect her. Bella meets Buff gorgeous wolf Jacob. Hot blooded drama boiling right there babey!

For the girls: Intense romance!
For the guys: It’s action-packed!

Watch the movie. You won’t regret it. I can tell it. 6th sense. Trust me.

It has been 3 weeks or so :P Pretty old news but I know I haven’t been in the blogging scene and events for 3 months now due to exams and such. I’ve contemplated on quitting though, but well I guess I’ll just keep my blog for ‘documentation’ purposes and to keep my old buddies in the loop.

My hair’s growing rather fast, I hope to get it to shoulder length in a few months. *fingers-crossed* Starting to miss my long hair and the days when I would rush to uni without even brushing my hair because it’s just damn easy to maintain long hair (except for the fact that it was getting pretty damaged from the straightening and coloring). Now I’m still pretty blah about waxing my hair and all, but oh well :P

Other than that, I’ve gained 12 kilos. That’s pretty depressing i know, especially for a girl. But I don’t know why I’m also pretty blah bout that too. Now I look so.. unfeminine. I can’t wear half my clothes now as well.

*dances* Lol. I definitely need to lose alot of weight. I just don’t really have the time.

District 9

District 9 is a pretty exciting upcoming movie directed by Peter Jackson. The man behind the amazing directorship of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I’m sure this is one of those movies that will keep you from blinking out of awe.

Here’s the trailer:

Thirty years ago, aliens made first contact with Earth. Humans waited for the hostile attack, or the giant advances in technology. Neither came. Instead, the aliens were refugees, the last survivors of their home world. The creatures were set up in a makeshift home in South Africa’s District 9 as the world’s nations argued over what to do with them.

Now, patience over the alien situation has run out. Control over the aliens has been contracted out to Multi-National United (MNU), a private company uninterested in the aliens’ welfare – they will receive tremendous profits if they can make the aliens’ awesome weaponry work. So far, they have failed; activation of the weaponry requires alien DNA.

The tension between the aliens and the humans comes to a head when an MNU field operative, Wikus van der Merwe (Sharlto Copley), contracts a mysterious virus that begins changing his DNA. Wikus quickly becomes the most hunted man in the world, as well as the most valuable – he is the key to unlocking the secrets of alien technology. Ostracized and friendless, there is only one place left for him to hide: District 9.

The movies this summer rocks my socks babey! This month alone I’ve watched Transformers twice, Ice Age twice, Harry Potter, 17 again, Night at the Museum and yesterday..

The special screening of Ghosts of Girlfriends Past for Nuffnangers at TGV 1Utama which is due to premiere only next week in Malaysia! :) Yeehaaa, we watched it 1 week earlier. *dances*

No wonder I’m so broke this month, that I even have to borrow some cash from my younger bro.

Hello everyone.

I am here to announce that I FAILED my examination.
Known as EOS.
Also known as the biggest medical examination in IMU.

I did very badly in 1 of the papers, so badly beyond comprehension that it pulled my overall average grade from B to C minus. The passing grade is an overall C. Which means I've failed the whole thing even if I was alright in the other papers. So will be resitting for the whole thing on the 22nd and 23rd of June, 3 papers, 1 month from now.

I was quite sure that I would fail. Because I did so badly for that paper alone, I knew I needed a miracle to just pass. It didn't really sink in until I tore open that envelope and saw the grade for myself and the 'We regret to inform you that you have failed your EOS'. I also did something so stupid, that I can strangle myself right now because I did hundreds of past year questions (like literally, not joking) and neglected my notes, which I thought I was superhuman to memorise every single line (it is essential to memorise every single line) in 1 day.

I'm not kidding you.

I didn't wanna tell that to anyone in the beginning, because even I myself thought it was incredibly stupid. And so that I would feel a little better by pretending that I did study hard for this exam. Or should I add a complete retard for even attempting that. I was feeling extremely depressed and sad to the point of being emotionless after the exam because most of all, I didn't want to disappoint my parents, my family and also my friends who have been rooting for me all along.

All along, I thought I was going to handle the exam just fine. Despite spending lotsa time doing unnecessary stuff and watching loads of series and movies, I actually sat there for hours at end.. not studying, but doing the freaking past year questions. I was even so glad that I finished the whole pile because I was informed that past years DO come out alot in EOS.

Right after the disasterous 1st paper (which I did very badly on), I knew I was doomed. Because nothing came out. And this paper constitutes a chunk of percentage for my overall. After the whole EOS, I was told that past years almost NEVER repeats.

Too late for that.

I also thought that I should finish the past years because I didn't score for one of my Chemistry papers in A levels because I was so convinced that if I studied my notes, I could definitely answer the questions. WRONG. So convinced that history would repeat, I was determined to finished up the past years, and at the very end, I was left with 2 days to memorise my notes. After franctically reading up and jotting down short notes to memorise, I was left with 1 day.

And so I mugged the whole entire night without getting a wink of sleep. This is probably the most stressful as I can get. My blood pressure shot up so high that my left arm was numb the entire night. But I told myself that I had no time to stop or breakdown. And so around 3am, I decided to memorise the past year answers as a desperate attempt up til the time I entered the exam hall.

Day 1 over. I got back home, slept for 3 hours and continued stuffing facts into my brain. This time I got rid of the past years and memorised as much as I could from my notes. I was feeling so tired I had to take an hour nap, and woke up in cold sweat and heart palpitations. It took me half an hour to recover.

For a moment, I really wondered if I could have been having a heart attack.

And went back to my books up til the time I went for my Day 2 paper, which I did considerably much better than Day 1.

But sadly, not good enough to save myself.

There you go. I'm announcing this not to justify myself, but to accept the fact that I failed. And the stupid things I did that led to this humbling circumstance. A slap across my face for not being well prepared. A kick for thinking that past years are shortcuts in being a doctor. And so that nobody will ever attempt anything like that in the future EOS.

Before I got my results, I thought that I will not be able to face anyone, or tell anyone that I failed. I thought that I will shy away from the world because one of my worst fears is actually failure. But today God gave me the strength and courage to not only face it, but to declare that even if you fall, you can stand upright again. And that's why I'm announcing this to the whole world, because what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.

To all those who failed, don't ever give up. I'm sure we are all better than this. Everybody is cheering for you! And I can say this, because I failed as well and understand how you feel. So hang in there :)

For the only way to triumph over failure is to stand up tall. Do not let it beat you down. We will brave through this storm.

Someone once told me 2 years ago,

'You don't know how to play the game. In order to win, you must lose 1st. Learn from it and never make the same mistakes again. To help another human being, you must be a knowledgable doctor. Only then you can save someone's life.'

I Can Relate to Ghosts of Girlfriends Past

I’ve been looking forward to this movie for quite some time now. Woohoo!

Just recently, I've watched 'He's Just Not That Into You' and this upcoming movie is kinda like a sequel to that movie IMO. Also, I've been watching alot of 'How I Met Your Mother' which highlights the quest of this guy searching for THE ONE while in New York City with his buddies.

I mean, let's not talk bout movies, and just look around us. Many of us have different ideas on the question of love, dating and relationship. Some relationship's been serious at the word 'go'. Some falters after some time. Some progresses. Some's just puppy love. Some's love at first sight, yes?

At the end of it all, it's always a happy ending and a happily ever after. Some would have found that happy ending already. Some might have suffered from heart breaks. Some just have to wait for the right one to come by :) I believe in happy endings.

This story's about this character played by Matthew McConaughey who's a celebrity photographer. With looks, career and charm, he is one of the most available bachelors around with the ladies swarming from every corner. Which he greets with open hands.

Then he found himself falling in love. He fell deep for her. He freaked out, and did what he does best, leave in the morning back into his glamourous life. Until he met her again. He was brought back into the past, which brought him to realise how much he didn't want to lose her.

I'm a sucker for romance movies. So I'm sure I'm gonna find this movie a good watch :P

The Mysterious Ticking Noise

You may or may not know, but I used to spend hours on end throughout the night YouTubing. It was an addiction. Really.

It was neverending. The amount of videos I’ve watched, one after another. Absurd ones, Funny ones, Sick-in-the-head ones, Touching ones..

Constantly checking out the ‘Most popular Videos’ , ‘Most viewed Videos’ , ‘Featured Videos’ , ‘Related Videos’ . Constantly sending links to my friends and laughing our asses off. And another YouTube link-sharing spree would start from there.

‘YouTube is like an addiction’

I’d stopped this YouTube addiction when I moved back to Connaught when Uni started in August ‘08, due the freaggin’ slow connection. Which in return actually made me glued to the TeeVee instead. Oh, and also the many movies and series shared amongst my housemates.

Now that I’m back in Kajang. There are other things that actually got me a lil caught up. Like Plurking.

Plurk is somewhat like Twitter + MSN. The constant replying keeps you so caught up that without realising, you might be on it for hours. It’s really like keeping up with 10 MSN conversations at 1 go.

Now you know what I’ve been doing when I’m supposed to be studying.

Another thing that I’ve been gushing about is this Mixpod. Somewhat like Imeem. But the best part is, Mixpod actually imports audio clips from other sharing sites like YouTube. So you can find almost anything there and add it into your playlist.

Oo! Not only that, it loads extremely fast even with my lousy connection, with no glitches (except if you are loading other big sites as well). Now I don’t even need to download anymore, just click on play, and it plays the whole night through.

You see, it has gone a full circle. Now Mixpod has brought me to realise again the wonders of YouTube that I was once intrigued about.

There you go! My bro and I used to sing this aloud everyday at home. If it harbors the same effect on you, I guarantee you, the song will be playing in your head for days.

A One-Day Merdeka

My End of Semester Exam was yesterday. And guess what? We already know our results yesterday. Yes, that’s how it works over here in IMU :)

Taken during my hospital visit. During that time, I haven’t slept in more than 24 hours. It went on to about 30+ hours. That’s how life’s gonna be when I’m a doctor in 4 years. Woohoo! =)

I was pretty drained as I had not slept for more than 24 hours by the time the exam ended. So, while most of the bloggers were at the Hennessy Artistry event at The Loft KL, I was watching ‘Knowing’ at Midvalley. Thanks Suresh for the invite to the Hennessy Artistry event anyway :)

Absolutely recommended. All the worst fears of my life were flashing through my mind as I was watching the movie. If tomorrow might just be your very last day, are you ready to leave?

It’s a one-day Merdeka. Because in 2 weeks, I have another exam coming up, which is the End of Year exam. This is the Big One.

I went out with my petsis to celebrate the end of my end of semester exam by treating ourselves to ‘He’s just not that into you’ and Pan Mee Lat Tong! You guys must so try this one day. Thanks sis! My movie and makan buddy since 2003.

After that, my Kajang pals and I had our usual ‘yamcha’ session by indulging over Sup Kambing and a complimentary super-pedas Ikan Keli Bakar. Sup Kambing is another must-try over here in Kajang!Thanks for the laughs kawans!

Being in the church makes me feel so safe and peaceful all the time..

An assortment of people of different ages and background in the choir.

I was in the choir. The youngest member is 10 years old. The oldest is 91 years old.

The pianist is 91 years old. The violinist is 10 years old.

We’re not the best choir around. In fact sometimes we even laugh at ourselves for sounding so bad. But what’s best about being in this choir, is the fellowship we had, the many dinners we had together.. and where age is not an issue.

Short update

Hey everyone :)

I've been having a pretty busy week.

For one, I've not slept for about 48 hours from Wednesday til Friday. Well, I only had 1 or 2 hours naps b4 going to Uni for those 3 days. And I can't seem to be able to fall asleep sometimes.

Right now, I haven't slept since Saturday 12 am. Like not even a single nap. It's been 24 hours. I went to the Zoo with the Photography Club. We celebrated Natasha's 20th birthday after that! And then I rushed back for choir practice for Easter. After choir, we had dinner together. Surprisingly despite feeling quite tired, I had a pretty good day and did many crazy things :D I'll be blogging bout that soon XD You'll be quite entertained.

Sorry ya.. I might be abit slow in responding to your messages at the moment. Because what I really need to do right now.. is to get some sleep. And swallow Vitamin C + Panadol before I actually fall sick. And exam is in 12 days. Can't afford to fall sick.

For this event, the theme is ‘ROCK ON!’ in conjunction with the Maxis USB Modem Campaign. It’s like a Music Celebrity Costume Party.

Ok lar. I’ve gotta admit that I didn’t exactly dress up for the event =P Anne Marie suggested that I go as Marion Raven, but unfortunately I don’t have her signature high boots she’s famous for. So the night before the bash, I listed down a couple of celebrities like Fergie, Jojo, The Veronicas etc.

I didn’t exactly make up my mind on who to go as. To add up to that, I got home pretty late and I had like 30 minutes to shower, dress up, make up, choose a bag and all those thingamajig before Suresh came over to fetch me.

When he reached, I was frantically searching for a shoe to wear. Alas, I just snatched something from the rack.

I was like ‘ Aiyer.. nvm lar.. I can just pretend I’m anybody ’. The both of us, made a few wrong turns before reaching Maison.

We hung around the entrance for a while. Finally get to meet Jeffro after hearing so much about him from both Anne and Suresh.

After much photo taking, we moved ourselves into the club, got ourselves settled and dump our stuffs to one table right infront of the stage. Met up with the DGMB group which I’ve read so much about from HweiMing.

Unfortunately my beloved CentreDigicam aka Sony Cybershot, which used to do me proud and took pretty good shots, kinda let me down that day. Dangg, lotsa shots turned out blur even with flash! Hmmphh.

My camera batteries kinda died in the middle of all the dancing. I was standing right at the front. So, I gotta squeeze myself back out to get the extra batteries from my bag and couldn’t get back to the front.

After the party, one group went for karaoke. While the other half went for mamak. Got there, and hung out for a while with most of the DGMB (Definitely Gang Maybe Bang).

There were alot of events that night. KL Design Week Closing Party, F1 McLaren Showcase to name a few. Before we called it a night at 1 am, we saw fireworks overlooking KL Tower.

It was a great ending, to a great night.

Not only that, we got kissed by a massive traffic jam soon after.

Earth Hour

It has been a week since Earth Hour. Gosh, it scares me that time flies by so quickly. Wait, that is an understatement. What's quicker than flying, hmm?

Not to mention exam is in 20 days. Or less. I've lost count. =P

Nyways, we were quite excited about Earth Hour. I missed out on a bloggers gathering at Pavillion during the day as I wanted to study lol. Yeah. Right.

Moving on to the evening. There were alot of events during Earth Hour. I wanted to be at Capsquare, but decided to spend it with my family instead =)

I was very touched from watching the Earth Hour video, that I got choked and teary. We don't get much of unity going these days.

So, we hopped into the car and went to Kajang Prima for dinner. But couldn't hesitate to go round the area to check on other people's houses as well. Haha.

I know, kepoh.

We settled on dining at Beach Cafe because it was the only outlet that actually observed Earth Hour. All the other restaurants were brightly-litted.

Quite the romantic ; )

The atmosphere was warm. Yeah, like literally as well. No fan, no wind. Mosquitoes.

But it didn't bother us that much. Because I ordered my all-time favourite.

We basically just 'chilled'. Watched the Earth Hour Showcase on National Geographic Channel. Ate. And drank.

It was kinda exciting. And fulfilling. And I'm glad that I took part in this.

I've been kinda tied-up lately. With my exam lurking round the corner, 23 days to go to be exact, I am not even close to being prepared. It's not just any exam, I am a Medical Student.

I need lots of luck people.

Besides that, I have also been rushing for an essay assignment because for some reason, I don't quite like spending lotsa time on assignments and reports. So I usually write, finish and submit them within a few hours. Half-baked piece of work, or not, I don't really care, as long as it's not a piece of crap.

I've also been busy promoting my Uni's Photography Club Outing to Zoo Negara. Sim and I are the PR Officers, so we've been busy designing posters, editing a promo video, setting up a blog for the club, opening a new e-mail account, making an online form and promoting it from class to class. Thankfully, the response's quite good :)

I used to find this photo really hilarious. Haha.

I am still going for my aerobics classes twice a week :) Maybe I've gotten used to it, but I just don't feel good if I skip the classes to stay home and study for my exam. I've not lost any weight, in fact I've gained some kaygees. Boohoo.

And I just spent 4 hours designing Sweatshirts and Caps for the IMU Clothing Design Contest. I got so obsessive that I designed and submitted 7 entries! =P I can't help it bcos the 1st prize money is RM1000!!

I know you might not be impressed with it, but here's one of it.

I just can't stop watching ' How I Met Your Mother ' on my laptop while attempting to study. It's just so funny =D

There're just so many events on Saturday. There's the..

I've been thinking of not going for any and lock myself up with my books. But it turns out that I'll be going for the Nuffnang Music Bash! Thanks to Suresh again ;) Hmm.. Should I go for the pillow fight too? Gosh it sounds like heaps of fun!

It's 5am and I'll be going to Seremban Hospital with my Uni at 7am. I better take a quick nap and sleep in the bus later. I hope my friends won't do things like snap photos of me sleeping.

I'm back to cover the 2nd part of the fashion show!

Where did we stop? Oh yes.

During the intermittence, Prem & Jules of the Fly FM Morning Crew came on stage to rave-up the partey! So they called up 6 guys to play a game. Simon Seow was one of the first to jump up on stage. Another guy was Maya's boyfriend whom the crowd fondly refers to as 'Sayang~'

They were required to CATWALK and POSE. Our Sayang~ won the catwalk and some beauty products =D

Of course, Prem wouldn't let the girls go without making them play a game as well. Not just a game. He wants them to pole dance..

I tell you, the girls jumped on stage so quickly that I thought my eyes were cheating me. Like WHOA! These girls are party animals I tell you!

After 3 girls pole dancing on Prem, Jules decided that Prem has had enough. With much dismay from Prem, they called up 3 guys to replace Prem instead!

1 guy was ready and quick enough. Another 2 needed much persuasion both from the deejays and the crowd. Zhao included haha.

There was another short intermittence for the girls to prepare for their next walk. As we waited, I saw a couple of people behind me snapping away with their cameras.

Ahh.. I remember those A-level days when I used to watch MDG faithfully, and discussing it with SheaLeen.

We have been standing bout a meter from them from the start, but there were too many people and didn't wanna leave that spot.. so I snapped a photograph of them of them being photographed instead.

After the girls catwalked gracefully to the backstage, all the bloggers and press photographers retreated from the zone as well and started mingling around and taking photographs with each other. There was supposedly free flow of drinks that night, but when we got there, the free flow has stopped. A little too early I must say.

Anyways, the girls started coming out from the backstage, and hung out with their fans, friend and family. Same goes with Elaine Daly. Unfortunately, only Fiqa from MDG 1 stayed back. Adeline and Jay were not in sight : /

That did not mark the end of the night. The aftermath next. Stay tuned!

Ahoy boys and girls!

Last Monday on the 16th, I went to Mist Club for the Malaysian Dreamgirl Top 12 Showcase.

We arrived at Mist Club, Bangsar around 6pm. Still very early. Dropped Sharlene and her sis off and made our way to McDonalds for a quick dinner.

When we got back, the place's jam-packed with cars. Couldn't get a a parking lot nearby and even the Valet parking is full. However, managed to get a decent parking not too far off from Mist Club.

Collected our VIP passes (woots!) and Hewlett-Packard goodie bags as soon as we got there. Made our way into the Club but didn't have much going except for people standing around tables and the DJ doing his thing, so we went around taking photos and adjusting our digital cameras settings. Trust me, we took some time trying to get it right by taking lotsa trial and error photos. How to handle DSLR lah like that? *wonders if I can borrow the Photography Club's DSLR next time*

I was a little unsure whether to continue standing there. Like wth right, all I have is a digicam redeemed from RealRewards. I felt so unfit to snatch that privilege of grabbing the best photographer's spot. Besides, a member of the press almost got into a quarrel with another official photographer for standing inside the designated perimeter. 'Get me the organisers! Next time don't invite us to cover!' And I was standing right between them..

I guess I owe you guys with at least a good picture-filled post.

Anyways, Suresh insisted that I should stay where I was until the event ends. Soon enough, Elaine Daly walked up the runway and started the show.

Then the girls came back on the runway, this time not modeling the clothes on them not themselves, but the Hp gadgets by the sponsors.
