Hey, it's easy. Check out the material and workmanship. Grab a color you like, and maybe a fitness computer program . You can even sign up for the online diet and walking program! Thanks to the Internet, you can even get workout clothing and shoes from the same website. A marketer's dream.

You can still buy those cheap pulse monitors that fast food restaurants promote with their healthy meals, but they probably won't last very long if you actually use them. So what does a little exercise pulse monitor got to do with making a killing in your own small business?

Everything.

Where have all the good products gone?

You see this happening across the spectrum of manufactured products. There is a need for all sorts of little obscure items that people really find indispensable. How about that green apple flavored cleaning fluid that some kids sell door to door. I tried it and loved the stuff. I don't like the kind that is sold in the supermarkets it's inferior. So how can I get this great cleaning fluid when I want it? What other great stuff does this company make? These little gems are out there folk.

Will People Pay For Quality?

My answer is a resounding, "Yes!" If I can find the original Green Apple cleaning fluid mentioned above, I will buy it without even thinking about the price. It's a product that makes my life that much easier. When it comes to cleaning house, I want the best, they usually last longer and make the job easier every time. I know that a lot of people feel the same way about quality and service.

Quality products of any kind can become the basis of a profitable niche market. You must start with a product that will allow you to expand your product - service mix. By that I mean any product that fits the profile of consumable, extremely useful, modular, expandable, utilitarian must be able to fit nicely into a group of products.

For example a product that cures warts permanently is not that good as a starting point. There are not nearly as many people willing to pay twice the going rate for that product because even as a niche, it cannot carry a wide enough market on its own. Cleaning products have a much wider market and variance in quality. Consumers will defend their favorites and be loyal enough to recommend those products to their friends. The main product can be bundled with that great scrubbing sponge that has the superior scrubbing material on one side and the spongy cleaning surface on the other. Add a how-to guide to cleaning everything under the sun and a standing order program; now you have a niche product mix to launch a business.

A Simple But Difficult Idea

Defining a niche is tough to do but not impossible. If you who intend to make it on the Internet now and into the future, you must find and conquer a niche. You must become the dominant name within that niche. You must provide great content that demonstrates expertise, over-deliver with quality products, and provide extremely high levels of support to everyone who trusts you enough to purchase your solutions to their problems.

But Where Do You Get Start?

You must start with the market's need. Never ever start with your own ideas. You can waste a lot of time trying to fit your solutions to a problem that few people have or want to admit to having. That means going to the Web and to the Public Library. There are a few great directories to research but I recommend the SRDS (Standard Rate and Data Service) directory to be precise. This website requires a subscription but comes in handy when you want to know details of media purchasing. It allows you to find the popularity of various products and services by consumers. If you want to know what people are actually buying this is the way to do it.

Once you choose a product that fits the profile of consumable, extremely useful, modular, expandable, and utilitarian, you're on your way. Your next step is to test the viability of your offer. You can do that by conducting a survey. Set up a simple squeeze page and reply page that offers the respondents a free download-able gift for filling out the survey.

They can also get coupons to purchase your products at a discount for their efforts. Track your results and see if you can get a fair assessment of the results after a specified period of time. If the results reveal a positive general trend, then you can craft your marketing and reach your audience more effectively. This makes selling much easier because you'll have a built in customer base and a good shot at giving them exactly what they want. They will love you if you satisfy their needs.

Dennis Morales Francis is a consultant and coach for business professionals and wellness practitioners. Marketing will be one of your major expenses in many cases if you're a service oriented business. If you produce a product, it will be a close second.

Many people don't understand the value of marketing and consider it an afterthought that's why they end up with sleepless nights worrying about slow periods, lack of sales and rising competition later on. They were not educated in the basic principles of marketing. What I'm about to show you is the basic formula for selling your product or service.

If you don't have enough customers to cover your expenses, you're not effectively marketing your business. If you're business is over five years old and you don't have a customer list that you communicate with each month, you're not marketing effectively.

So here is a simple five step formula for effective marketing:

1. Identify

Figure out the intended market for your product. Identify the ideal customer in as detailed a description as possible. What do they read? What products or services do they buy that are related to your own?

2. Qualify

Your advertising will not promote your product or service. Your ad will focus on the most pressing problem that your service or product solves. The objective of you qualification advertising is to bring in qualified leads. The point of marketing is to find the prospects who need what you have or are willing to be persuaded to listen to what you have to offer.

3. Verify

You now verify your leads by making an offer. You make your pitch to the problems and or benefits that your prospects will think are important. If a prospect sees, the rewards are greater than the risks associated with commitment they will buy. If they don't, you need to move them into the next step.

4. Edify

If the prospect has not purchased your products after the closing process, it's time to educate them on a consistent basis. Teach them about the issues surrounding their issues and problems (those associated with your product or service, of course.). You can offer free information and surveys to these prospects to keep them acquainted with your brand. Send them your newsletter.

5. Multiply

As you build a list of customers, you'll continue to build a growing list of prospects. As you continue to add more customers, you'll need to add more related products and services. The beauty of the process is that it will be much easier to sell new products to your customer list than to your prospect list. Just keep the processes going.

Dennis Morales Francis is a consultant and coach for business professionals and wellness practitioners. Web traffic and the ensuing exposure are nice, of course, but if those hits don't improve business and increase sales, what purpose do they really serve?

The Prime Components of Global Marketing With Article Marketing

Creating a Website

For article marketing to have even a chance at being effective, it's imperative for all businesses to have their own websites to link back to when submitting articles to search engines and article directories. Also, having your own domain name is always preferable over using a free site, as it lends an authentic feel that tells people they're dealing with a real company that's serious about their online business ventures.

Be sure to include your website address on all of your marketing materials, both online and off. Your business cards, banner ads, forum and blog posts, as well as every article you submit for publication should all have your site's URL, which should be something easy to spell and remember.

Global Promotion Using Articles

Successful global promotion must include a set plan that features a number of effective methods for spreading the word about your business or products. The distribution of press releases announcing important details and providing a newsworthy story about your business, as well as submitting your articles to article databases and posting them on blogs, will also help to get your name recognized quickly.

A well-written, full-length article on a particular niche or topic is a perfect addition to the innumerable snippets of information the many popular blogs feature. But wherever you decide post your articles, don't forget the all-important resource box for providing the pertinent details people will need to do business with you. This, of course, will include your website and email addresses, but may also include a brief biography about you or your company, along with other bits of contact data such as location and telephone or fax numbers.

Providing Accurate, Useful Information

By providing accurate information in your articles along with an irresistible or enticing offer when people arrive at your website, the chances of converting the casual visitor into a paying customer dramatically increase. It definitely pays off in the long run to take the time to explore and thoroughly research all avenues when it comes to expanding your business globally using article marketing and the various related techniques for increasing customer base and revenue.

Email Marketing

Email marketing can be an excellent way to globally promote your business, either through legitimate lists of email addresses that you can purchase, or through lists that you've collected yourself from visitors who've been to your site, or through some other means of internet marketing. Email marketing is similar to the direct mail type, but without the need to spend money on postage and mailing expenses, and is also the perfect extension to article marketing.

Global marketing utilizing the benefits of article marketing truly is the easiest and most cost-effective way of expanding business and your contacts, as well as reaching new and impressive sales records that may not have been possible before.

Are you a freelance writer who is tired of others profiting from your hard work and effort? Price
The latest "hot button" on my radio show is the importance of attracting buyers and not sellers in your marketing. It seems like a "no brainer," after all, no one purposefully seeks people who want to sell to them, they want to find people who want to make a purchase. Ironically, their marketing often has the exact opposite effect.

How does that happen? It is really quite simple. Every day, business people are eagerly developing slick radio, print, TV, and web ads with the intention of attracting new customers. The car dealer who is hoping to snag a few customers, the home builder developing a new subdivision, or the accountant wanting to help more businesses with their taxes. All with smart intentions, but they often suffer the wrong results.

When they write these ads they fill them with broad hyperbole that says little about the company, bore potential customers with songs they don't want to hear, or make claims that every other company can boast (you are open FIVE DAYS A WEEK? What a concept!).

Meanwhile there are untold numbers of account executives who are in desperate need of customers. There has been a major shift as to where people go for their news and information and most in media sales can't keep up with the changes. They are losing customers faster than they are gaining them.

So while the rest of us shun print advertisements, clever radio spots, TV ads, and other propaganda. These account executives often look for such content exclusively. They will spin their radios away from their favorite songs if they think there is a potential buyer -- that could be you -- out there waiting for them to call. Just think, spending thousands on an advertisement that solicits other advertisement sales people.

So what can buyers do differently? They can emphasize their differences with other companies by shying away from price competitive approaches and focusing on the things that separate them from the pack. They can position themselves as the expert and instead of placing their content where people don't watch, read, or listen, but where such gets attention. This form of sophisticated marketing makes a major difference in a company's performance.

So it is time to ask the question, is your marketing working for you or is it merely attracting more sales people?

Kevin Price is Host of the Houston Business Show (Monday through Friday at 1 PM on CNN 650), which is the longest running program on that station. Once you do that, you need to communicate these differences and the benefits of customers choosing you over the competition with your marketing materials.

These materials, such as brochures, newsletters and even full color business cards, will really help you to market your business. These materials can save you a lot of time and energy that you would have spent talking to clients and explaining your business to potential customers. Not to say that talking directly to your customers is not important; it is. However, you can reach a lot more people in a shorter amount of time by mailing out brochures rather than going door to door to sell your product.

There are six steps for creating most marketing material, according to the Microsoft Small Business Council:

1. Set a goal.

2. Select the medium (brochure, flyer, etc.).

3. Compose your message and decide on how to illustrate it.

4. Create a design.

5. Prepare, proof and print your work.

6. Duplicate the final project in large quantities.

Along the way, you should keep in mind the following tips:

Look Everywhere for Ideas (especially your competition)
Now, this is not to say steal your competition's ideas, but think about the message they are trying to convey, and if they are getting that message across to you. If so, what makes their materials work? Why are you receiving that message? Is it a catchy slogan? Great color scheme? What about their business card printing quality? Did they use thick or thin cardstock and what does each option convey to you? Question why they did what they did and put that same thought into your materials. You should have a good reason for each decision you make, from color scheme to your logo.

Show the Customer How Your Product Benefits Them

Your company may be made up of wonderful, top-notch employees, but will the customer care? Focus your message on the customer and how your product will help that person with whatever problem they have. Show them how much easier or happier life would be with your product.

Don't Be Afraid of Drafts

Rarely will your first idea be your final one. It is okay to have many rough ideas -no one has to know how many ideas you rejected before you found the perfect marketing strategy. Brainstorm with other employees, or pay a consultant to help you come up with ideas. Also, do not be afraid to leave your ideas for a while. Work on your materials, put them away for a day, and then come back to them with a fresh mind to determine which ideas will work and which will not.

Get Some Reactions

Show your ideas to people who know nothing about your business or product. Share your thoughts with professionals in other realms, like graphic designers or writers. Try to get people that match your target audience to look at your materials and give you their honest feedback.

Get Help

If you do not feel comfortable with your writing, designing or production skills, ask for (or pay for) help from professionals. A lot of print and design companies do business card printing so you can have a streamlined look across the board, from brochures to full color business cards. Professional-looking materials will show your customers that you are serious about winning their business.

Kaye Z. (One of the terms for these types of consumers is: ‘brand tarts’). They try to pinpoint the source of the problem with expensive consultants or simply throw advertising dollars at the issue, only to end up bewildered (and jaded) when they don’t work. What’s the solution? Believe it or not, the first step may just be to switch radio stations.

One of my first instructors in my marketing course mentioned that we should tune into the WIIFM radio station as our assignment for the week. With no small amount of confusion, we all looked at each other and wondered if our instructor badly needed a holiday.

When our instructor wrote down this acronym, the lights began to go on:

WIIFM = ‘What’s in it for me?’

Every time you draft a direct sales letter, or write that award-winning copy for a glitzy brochure, you need to keep that little statement in mind.

Sure, you want to sell 100,000 of your nice, shiny products, but what does your consumer want?

Customers who buy boats don’t just want to get from point A to point B.

Home builders don’t sell a house; they sell a lifestyle.

Customers who need a web site don’t (necessarily) want the most technologically advanced site in the world. (Sorry, but this isn’t just an exercise for folio building!) They want a marketing tool that gets results.

As soon as you start picking up on the waves from WIIFM, and creating marketing materials that are attuned to your customer’s needs, the results will be music to your ears.

Renée Barber is the owner/operator of Rising Star Designs & Communication. She is based in Melbourne, Australia, but accepts clients from around the world (have PayPal, will travel). If you require a designer who writes, or a writer who designs, you've found the right person.

Most people would agree that a picture is worth a thousand words, but anyone who has ever read a profoundly moving book also knows that 'word pictures' are no less powerful or creative than a painting. Bringing that same ethos to business communication is what Rising Star Designs & Communication is all about.

If you want a company which creates communication, not just ads—or builds bridges with your customers, not just web sites—contact Renée today.

Rising Star Designs & Communication 'the perfect marriage of words and design' http://www.risingstardesigns.com.au
Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Renee_Barber

Electronic Marketing

Electronic Marketing

How To Use eBooks for Marketing Your Online Business

by Pablo Monti
There are innumerable ways to use ebooks to promote your business and drive quality traffic to your website. Once posted on your site, you can turn them into a daily course, which brings your customer back to read the next chapter. You can use them as a free gift for making a purchase or for filling out a survey. Put your ebook on a disc, and you will have an innovative brochure. Blow your competition away by inserting the disc into your sales packages.

The most effective marketing products are those that are unique. Copyright your ebook, and immediately, you have a powerful tool that you, and you alone, can offer to the public. People will have to visit your site to acquire your ebook, which increases the flow of quality traffic and the potential of sales and affiliate contacts.

Make sure that you keep your ebook current. Update it frequently as the market and trends change. Add new advice and techniques to show your prospects how your goods or services can enrich their lives. By constantly keeping abreast of new trends and techniques, you can continue to see profits from your ebook for years after your original creation.

Another huge advantage of ebooks is that you can test their marketing potential without putting out hardly any cash at all. You can even produce an ebook one copy at a time, each time you receive an order, eliminating the need for storage and inventory. By this method, you can gauge the saleablity of your ebook, and make adjustments as necessary until the orders start pouring in. Ebooks allow you to learn about your market and customer habits and motivation over a period of time, without risking your precious financial resources. They also provide you with an invaluable way to gather marketing information, which you can use in many different facets of your online business.

Use your ebook to discover what the specific goals and problems are in your specific industry. Then figure out how to solve these problems, and publish an ebook with this invaluable information. This will increase the value of your business, upgrade your reputation, and get you known as an expert in your field.

You can extend the value of single ebook by breaking the book down into chapters for an online or email course, into special reports available on your website, or into audio or visual tapes. Ebooks can be broken down into several different promotional materials by excepting some of the articles and using them to promote your product. You can include a catalog in your ebook to promote all the products or services you sell. You can include a thank-you note for reading your book and an invitation to download a trial version of your product. Or you can include a form for your audience to contact you for further information or with questions, thereby building your business relationships and your mailing list.

Using ebooks in this manner helps to cut the cost of individually producing separate promotional materials. You can use a single ebook to entice new prospects and to sell new products to your current customers.

No other medium has this kind of flexibility and ability for expansion. Think of your ebook like a spider spinning a beautiful and intricate web. Now go and create that web, and see how many customers and leads you can catch on your web!

Article Re-print Rights Information

You may re-print the article published in this email as long as you comply with following terms:
Article must be published "as is" (unedited). Here is a definition of marketing mix and a description of its main components.

The term marketing mix refers to the primary elements that must be attended to in order to properly market a product or service. Also known as The 4 Ps of Marketing, the marketing mix is a very useful, if a bit general, guideline for understanding the fundamentals of what makes a good marketing campaign. Here is a brief description of each component of the 4 Ps of the marketing mix.

Product: The marketing mix concept has its roots in the 1950s U.S. corporate marketing world, and the practice of marketing has obviously evolved tremendously since this term was invented. One of the changes is that there are a lot more services available nowadays, such as those available online. Also, the distinction between product and service has become more blurry (e.g., is a Web-based software application a product or a service?). Either way, product here refers to products or services. The product or service you offer needs to be able to meet a specific, existing market demand. Or, you need to be able to create a market niche through building a strong brand.

Price: The price you set for your product or service plays a large role in its marketability. Pricing for products or services that are more commonly available in the market is more elastic, meaning that unit sales will go up or down more responsively in response to price changes. By contrast, those products that have a generally more limited availability in the market (but with strong demand) are more inelastic, meaning that price changes will not affect unit sales very much. The price elasticity of your product or service can be determined through various market testing techniques.

Place: This term really refers to any way that the customer can obtain a product or receive a service. Provision of a product or service can occur via any number of distribution channels, such as in a retail store, through the mail, via downloadable files, on a cruise ship, in a hair salon, etc. The ease and options through which you can make your product or service available to your customers will have an effect on your sales volume.

Promotion: Promotion is concerned with any vehicle you employ for getting people to know more about your product or service. Advertising, public relations, point-of-sale displays, and word-of-mouth promotion are all traditional ways for promoting a product. Promotion can be seen as a way of closing the information gap between would-be sellers and would-be buyers. Your choice of a promotional strategy will be dependent upon your budget, the type of product or service you are selling, and availability of said promotional vehicle.

Marketing has come a long way from the 4 Ps of yesteryear, and yet understanding this marketing mix is for your product or service remains very relevant today. The marketing mix serves as an excellent touchstone for continually checking that you are covering all of the bases in your marketing campaign.

Building a brand for your small business? Well, an online business is no different it works the
same way as any other business. Once you have built a website
and placed it online one one knows its there except you and your
host serevice. Without any advertising that is the way it will stay
and you will not grow your business, instead you will be closing
it down. You need proper marketing to grow your business.

It takes proper budgeting when it comes to running a business.
Many people fail because of improper budgeting. You must realize
that it takes money to advertise your business. Many people fail
because they don't have the budget to advertise until they make
a sale and you can't make a sale without advertising. So you are
stuck in the middle. So many will give up and not even get their
business a chance.

There are many ways to advertise your business for little
money. One way is to have some T-shirts or hats made up. You
should be able to find someone to make them up for as little as
$5 or $10 each. Give them to everybody you know and have them
wear them in public so your name will be out there for peolpe to
see. You can also volunteer as an "expert" in your area of
expertise. For instance, If your a tree trimmer and a heavy
storm has hit your area, contact your newspaper and offer
precautions for homeowners to take while awaiting for someone to
do the cleanup work. Quoted with your name in your local
newspaper is advertising that no amount of money can buy.

Most people just starting out with their home business will be
tight with their money and they should be. Spending lots of
money in a short period of time will gather many prospects
quickly, but once the money is gone the people will dwindle too.
Marketing your business on a limited or cheap budget can be alot
of hard work and time consuming because you will have to do more
of the work yourself.

Your local restaurants are a great place to advertise your business.
Try talking with a small restaurant owner about working a deal
with their placemats. Try gathering several small business owners
in your neighborhood to put together an advertising placemat
for your group. Depending on your budget you can make them
plain or fancy as you like. But each business will have a spot
on the placemat with their advertisment. Once you have them
printed up give them to your local restaurants to use. Not too
many restaurants will say no to free placemats.

If you can afford it, sponsor a local sport team and supply the
uniforms, with your name on them of course, and reap the benefits
of the advertising. This is a more expensive proposition, but
perhaps your can work with the uniform supplier on a bartered
deal to exchange some of the service costs for the uniforms.

There are many ways to advertise for very little money. Just
keep your eye open for different ideas and you will find plenty
of them.

About the Author: If your looking for some great home based
business ideas and opportunities so you can work at home visit:
http://943747.homebizoffers.com http://www.KristianePritzel.com
recommends you visit: http://www.JustArticlesSubmission.com
Source: http://www.isnare.com
Permanent Link: http://www.isnare.com/?aid=178183&ca=Marketing

Brand Marketing

Brand Marketing

Brand Marketing Online

By Emms Urbanozo
Tremendously significant in a world of increasing globalization, rivalry and internet marketing brand marketing online has become. In this essay, I will discuss the disadvantages of having computers in the classrooms due to the misuse and the abuse of this tool.

I found it hard to find research that had been done on this topic because not only is the research on the effectiveness of computers in the classroom scarce but the research that is there is often done by software companies and therefore may be biased. (Emmans 2001). Even though there is no clear-cut answer to the question of a computer being a friend or foe in the classroom, having an unsolvable question of good or bad brings many issues to light.

For example, the fact that much of the software designed for children is appealing to them. If nothing else, it at least holds the children’s attention. Though this may seem like a positive characteristic, consider this, just because a television show holds your attention, does it necessarily educate you? The answer to this is simple, maybe some do, but certainly not all do, mostly they are just simply entertaining. This causes me to raise an eyebrow at some, not all, software. As a teacher, one must not use time-fillers, cause a child can watch television or play on a computer at home, but as a teacher, we must educate, and if there is no educational value in the software, what good is it for a teacher?

On the defense for teachers, another reason for computers being a shortcoming is that sometimes the software is not obvious that it is non-educational. This can be a common mistake of any educator, being fooled that a product could be educational when it is merely entertainment software dressed up in an educational costume aimed at these gullible teachers.

According to Cindy C. Emmans (2001), a professor of Educational Technology at Central Washington University, on software in the classroom…

“ Often feedback is the key to learning, and computers are appealing because this feedback can be immediate, which is of course a very effective learning tool. Unfortunately, this feedback is not often as effective as it might be, perhaps because it is not easy to return to the original question to try again, or the student must begin at the beginning to review the original content rather then backing up a step or two. In some cases, the feedback for the wrong answers is more appealing than that for the right answer, causing students to try and get the wrong answer simply for the entertainment value”.

Gerald W. Bracey sums it up adequately in a journal article called Principal by basically saying that the bells and whistles are all there, but the education is not, because it was not produced by someone who understands how children learn. (1996, p.6).

More arguments in the research area continued in September of 2000, the Alliance for Childhood published a statement against the use of computers in schools. More than 85 experts in various fields including psychiatry, education, and philosophy signed the statement in which calls for a suspension on the promoting introduction of computers into the nation's elementary schools until there is a more careful assessment of their effect (Hafner, 2000). Another influence in opposition to computers in classrooms is that of Jane Healy, an educational psychologist and the author of "Failure to Connect," a book criticizing educational applications of computers. Thomas Crampton interviewed Mrs. Healy and she declared that computers "can hurt children's personal skills, work habits concentration, motivation, (and) the development of social skills" (IHT, October 2000, p. 19).

Another reason that computers in the classroom would prove to be a disadvantage is the availability of computers in the classroom to each individual student. It is rare to find a school that, in each classroom, has a computer supplied for each student. This then brings up the problem of scheduling and rotating the students to the computers available. (Tiene 2001) This begins a whole new ball game in which you are now consuming a lot of time in which could be used for more productive measures rather then scheduling computer time for each student. If this is the case, and only a specific amount of students can be on the computer at one time, then you are dividing your classroom, and not integrating it, as it should be. This causes many difficulties in teaching a whole group instruction, which leads to problems in skill development, since the attention of some students is lacking. (Tiene 2001).

On the Colorado state education web site (2003), I was able to find questions that were asked to teachers regarding computers in their classrooms. The teachers were asked, “What do you find unattractive about teaching in a computer based classroom?” The one teacher commented that, “ Students have a tendency to come in a print out their papers at the beginning of class instead of coming into class with a hard copy…” Another teacher said, “ Technological difficulty, your whole lesson could be shot for the day if the computer would go down”. When the teachers were asked about the difficulties they faced themselves and with the students due to computers in the classroom, they answered, “ It is hard to get the students attention when they are on the computers.” Another teacher commented, “ There are times that I send them to work and instead they are interacting with each other.” Another teacher stated her fear of the computer classroom by saying that, “ Students are at their own screens, they’re in their own little world, and they are not talking to their classmates, sometimes I think that they don’t even know half the names of all the people in their class.” (Barnes 2003)

I feel that these teachers comments are very important when looking at the issue of computers in the classrooms, because these are the people that actually interact with the children in the classroom, they are not just some random research study by a software company, these people are the real thing, and they see how computers are effecting their classrooms.

Another issue of computers in the classrooms regards the child’s health. If a child were to be functioning on a computer for a long interlude of time or with incorrect positioning they will inadvertently obstruct their own health, some problems caused from this include muscular-skeletal injuries and vision problems. (MacArthur & Shneiderman, 1986).

Another issue concerning computer use in classrooms is that a lot of teachers have not been trained to use a computer, and many do not know how. An enormous amount of time would have to be consumed for the teachers to learn both the hardware and the software of the computer. They also would need time to collaborate with other teachers. Time is something that many teachers spend planning lessons and the weekly events of their classroom. The other problem that was just mentioned was the training of the teachers. Some educators do not have local training options available to them. Some do not have the time or money to spend on it. Another issue is that even if a teacher does go through training, there are always unsuspected things that can go wrong with a computer. If a teacher were to base their whole lesson on a computer, and it were to crash, and the teacher just being minimally skilled in using computers, would not be able to fix the system so that they could continue their lesson. (Tiene 2001).Therefore an on-site technology expert would be needed on site at all times in case any of these incidences would happen, and quite frankly I do not think that there are too many school districts looking for another expense.

Another reason for computers being a disadvantage in the classroom is that if the computer is Internet accessible, if this is the case, then the children can be exposed to Internet content that is not appropriate for their age level. They can also be exposed to child predators, which is a huge concern in today’s world.

Though this may seem far-fetched it truly is not in an article published on the gurdian angel websitein 2000 states,
“The facts are plain. Children are being targeted, solicited, and made victims by pedophiles. What do the ratios or statistics matter? Isn’t even one too many? These predators range from the simple minded closet pedophile who has surfaced because they believe they are safely anonymous behind their account alias, to the highly organized and skilled child pornography rings that operate predominantly off of US soil, behind quick discard web sites, and anonymous re-mailers, pushing their hideous wares for big profits. Have you ever heard of a child being molested or kidnapped in your hometown? Don’t you teach your kids to watch for certain things and, not to talk to, or go anywhere with, strangers for just that reason? This is our point. Just as there are real world lessons that you teach your children, there is a necessity to teach them cyber-world lessons. “ (Hook, 2000).

To put this quite simply, are you sure that your child is being watched very closely when accessing the Internet at school? It sure would be hard for one teacher to keep a close eye on each individual student in the classroom when they are all accessing the Internet at the same time. Therefore are you, as a parent or a teacher, really quite sure that a computer is necessary to learn in school? I mean, didn’t you, the parent or teacher, learn in school without the computer? I agree that learning the latest technology is a necessity, but I do not agree with using computers for classes like mathematics or reading.

To sum it all up, Computers in the classroom lacks research of it being an advantage in the classroom. Computers in the classroom may not provide the students with the proper education that they need if the software being used is not adequate. Computers may not be, depending on the school, made available to each student. The attention of the students is harder to get when they are on the computer. An inexperienced teacher in the technology area may cause many problems in the classroom, and consume valuable time that could be used to educate. Most schools do not provide an on site technician in case a difficulty may arise. The children’s health may be affected by long-term use of the computers, and probably the most frightening one is that these children can be exposed to child predators and unfiltered inappropriate content through the web while they are in school and in their classrooms presumed to be receiving their education. http://www.1-in-coupons.com

Katie Criss is a graduate with a dual degree in Early Childhood Elementary Education, who enjoys writing and wants it to be seen! These mediums are still very powerful and effective but more and more marketing people are entertaining the idea of using non traditional advertising. This is mainly because traditional media is becoming so saturated and also becoming very expensive.

In order for your brand or message to get across, a marketer should make sure that the medium used is unique from the rest. Small brands on the other hand have no budget as big as established brands so there is the challenge to find not only unique mediums but mediums that will not cost so much money. This challenge has opened many new entrepreneurs to think of all sorts of non traditional advertising.

One of the hit non traditional advertising options is hot air balloon advertising. Hot air balloons used to be just decorations in air much like fireworks. Ingenious people of the olden times came up with ideas on how to use it as a recreational tool by making it possible for people to ride on it.

Now hot air balloon fairs are famous all over the world. Young and old people flock to these fairs to ride in these balloons or simply to marvel at the beautiful colors as they are launched into the air.

Entrepreneurs then noticed that hot air balloon has a potential to be a medium of advertising. A very keen observer will see the potential of hot air balloons when placed in any event. Hot air balloons can be designed. It has enough space for a logo and tagline. The most important thing is that it is visible to the naked eye even from afar.

It is especially nice to see a hot air balloon when it is the centerpiece of an event or is the centerpiece of any area for that matter. Hot air balloon advertising has to consider all these things to make sure that it will shine as a non traditional advertising medium.

Hot air balloon advertising maybe expensive but the mileage you get is exceptional. The traditional tri-media might even pick up your hot air balloon ad so even if you did not spend for any of those tri-media, there is a very big chance that you will see your ad in print or television or that you will hear your ad being talked about over the radio. In which case the budget you spent on the hot air balloon advertising will have a return of investment that is triple your original investment.

Low Jeremy maintains http://advertising-balloons.articlesforreprint.com This content is provided by Low Jeremy. Yes I know
that assumption or guess is hardly rocket science but when it
comes to writing your articles you have to remember that the
most important thing is the content.

The actual subject of your article isn't really that important
in a way as the chances are there are people out there who will
be interested in what you're writing about. However if you use
articles as just another way to promote your business instead of
focusing on your readers then I'm afraid your articles won't be
read, won't be published by many people and won't bring you
results.

So if killer content is the key how do you actually make sure
you do it?

Well here are 5 top tips on how to write an article that if
followed will turn your thoughts, observations and words on a
particular subject into article gold dust.

Top Tip Number 1 – A.I.D.A

For those of you already familiar with A.I.D.A you'll know just
how important having a structure to something is (be it a
letter, an advertisement, a press release or an article).

A.I.D.A being:

Attention
Interest
Desire
Action

For many articles you will only get a small opportunity to get
the readers attention and make them want to read more. Therefore
make sure your article begins with a catchy headline and ensure
the first paragraph explains what the article is about (in many
cases a problem) and how the article is going to solve the
problem.

So once you get your readers attention, make sure what you're
saying is interesting. How many times have you brought a book
based on the cover, the title or what's written on the back only
to start reading it and think BORING!

The same applies to your article writing. It is pointless
promising the world and delivering next to nothing. Not only
will it annoy the reader but it will also put them off your
writing long term.

Also on the subject of interest make sure what you're saying is
somehow different to the crowd (and believe me in the world of
article writing there's a pretty big crowd). Don't worry though
as they'll still be hundreds and thousands (and dare I say
millions for the right articles) of people wanting to read well
written articles.

Desire – what do you desire? The secret to great article
writing is turning curiosity into a desire to get something. If
you do that your article writing will transform your life and
the lives of others. By that I mean that you have to make people
really want to know what you have to say. Just imagine an
article with the headline of "The secret of life finally
revealed". I for one would want to know what it was (PS…I do
actually know what this is so if you'd like to know please visit
the Nettle Helpdesk at http://thenettle.com/helpdesk/index.php
and just ask me).

Clearly your articles may not reveal such things but for many
people across the World what you have to say will be important
to them and they will want to know more. Examples being:

"This Years Top 10 Christmas Presents" – people will want to
know what they are

"The secrets to playing better golf" – people will read it (I
know I would)

"Why 8 out of 10 women prefer Chocolate to Sex" – women will
probably want to know who the other 20% are and men will be
checking the Top 10 Christmas Presents above to see if they
should take the sexy underwear they've just brought their
partners back to the shop and instead buy them a big bar of
chocolate instead! (my tip on this is buy both – well, you never
know!)

My point is, make people want and desire you knowledge.

The final point of A.I.D.A is Action but we'll look at that
more in Top Tip number 5 next month.

Top Tip Number 2 – Share your secrets

I'm not a religious man myself but I'm sure there's a passage
in the Bible somewhere about in order to receive you must at
first giveth. The same is true with articles. The chances are
you will be writing about something that you have some expertise
in or you have a real passion for. With this in mind you
shouldn't hold back with your knowledge. Instead share your
knowledge and yes your trade secrets with your readers. And the
good news is even if they don't agree with you; they will
respect you sharing your thoughts with them.

Top Tip Number 3 – Benefits

If you're not an Information Technology expert and you have
ever gone to purchase a computer you'll know what I mean here.
You go into a computer shop and you're told all about the latest
computer and what features it has. RAM, Hard Drive, Multiple
USB's, Pentium Processors, Prompt Action Mean Drive. OK so I
made the last one up but going shopping for a computer might as
well be like attending a Rocket Science conference as far as
many people are concerned because the sales people focus on the
features and not the benefits. All I want to know can I set it
up quickly and use the internet, can I write some letters and
store accounts information and can I download and play the
latest tunes and films. Tell me that and you might have a sale.
Make me look stupid by using jargon and technical mumbo jumbo
(is mumbo jumbo jargon by the way?) and I'll smile and way away.

Top Tip Number 3 is to focus on the benefits that your article
gives.

If you're giving tips on how kittens can be taught to use a
litter tray then focus on the benefits that your house and
carpet won't smell of cat wee. If you're writing on how to get
the best insurance deal then focus on you the fact that you will
save time and money.

Features don't sell. Benefits do.

Use benefits in your article writing and watch your profits
increase and your business grow.

About the Author: Mark Burdett is the owner of The Marketing
Buzz. Churchill
You’ve built a company based on the products or services that
you sincerely believe have earning capabilities. Before you can
start counting dollars, however, you need to make the market sit
up and pay notice to what you’re selling first, and that, dear
Watson, is not exactly an elementary thing to do.

6 Tips for Your First Attempt at Business Marketing

DON’T DELEGATE – Trust no one but yourself and your partners to
build the marketing foundation of your company. Yes, you may
have more than qualified employees working for you, but they
still can’t know and love your business as much as you do. You
can ask for advice from experts, of course, and you can hire
them to create a business marketing plan, but make sure that you
work with them and not just simply wait for the outcome.

THERE’S NO ROOM FOR TIMIDITY AND SHYNESS IN BUSINESS MARKETING
– If you’re an introvert, this is one of the few times that you
have no choice but to overcome your inhibitions and come out of
your shell. If you really want to market your business
effectively, you need to personally speak up for it. You need to
sound convincing and not shy as you expound on the many
wonderful features and benefits of what you’re offering. You
need to be assertive and not hesitant as you encourage people to
avail of what you’re offering.

MAKE YOUR TARGET MARKET YOUR FAMILY – In normal circumstances,
a family member is sure to be privy to ALL his family’s secrets
– good and bad. Business-wise, however, you need to think of
your target market as your family as well. You need to know
everything about what they like and dislike. You need to know
them so well that you can almost perfectly second guess how
they’d react in a given situation. By making your target market
your family, you’ll gradually learn which buttons to push to
make your customers continue patronizing your company’s products
or services.

USE ETHICAL MEANS IN BUSINESS MARKETING – Above all things,
avoid using illegal or deceptive methods when marketing for your
business. Don’t be tempted with the get-rich-quick-schemes
because these won’t work for you in the long run and can easily
cause your company to dissolve or go bankrupt. If you want your
company to be successful, you need to love and respect your
customers.

FOCUS ON BENEFITS AND NOT FEATURES – This is a rule of the
thumb when business marketing. If you’re creating an ad campaign
or formulating a marketing strategy now, make sure that you
remember to focus on the benefits and not the features of your
product or service. Customers will always remember how their
life – directly or indirectly – will be made easier by what
you’re offering than how your product or service works or what
hi-tech options it offers.

MONEY IS NOT ALL THAT MATTERS – Many business owners make the
mistake of thinking that a big and flashy marketing campaign is
the best way to catch its market’s attention. And yes, of
course, an expensive and ostentatious ad may capture your
market’s notice – but the real question is will it be able to
retain it long enough to convince them to buy what you’re
offering?

Always remember that cost, although certainly important, is not
the ultimate deciding factor when devising your marketing
strategy.

Lastly, don’t forget to evaluate the results of your marketing
strategy because there’s always something to learn from past
success and failures.

About the Author: Mario Churchill makes it quicker and easier
for you to create profitable business ideas, develop your
marketing strategy or brainstorm any topic. As the marketing
guru in the group, I gave them 3 simple reasons why and how to
overcome their marketing problem. I am George Ishee, Founder and
President of PlumTree Marketing and I had a group of frustrated
business owners sitting on the edge of their seat to hear the
answers, the pressure was on.

I began by telling them the first reason traditional marketing
doesn’t work is the small business owner doesn’t really know
much about marketing and relies on the salesman of the marketing
media’s to tell them what they need. The problem is they use the
“trust me” method which is give me your money, I’ll run your ad
and trust me; the leads will come rolling in. They strong arm
you to spend your whole budget with them and you guessed it, it
doesn’t work. I advise that instead of spending all your money
upfront, ask for 20 recent advertisers and contacts. Call them
and ask them how their ad did. Ask them what worked and what
didn’t. Understand the market that you are playing in. Then run
an ad with that media company but only for a short period and
test it. The rule is test, test and test.

The second thing I told the group of business owners was that
it takes five times as much money to get a new client as it is
to get another order from an existing customer. Who is more
likely to give you another order than your existing clients who
already know and love you? You can sell them another product you
have or cross sell up-sell or resell them again. I told them to
take 80% of their planned budget and use it to make a 3 contact
(letter or email) follow campaign and make the first contact
simply a thank you for being a customer. The second contact is
to offer another product or resale, and the last contact is to
ask for 3 referrals. I told them this should go out to every
customer who has purchased from you in the past 5 years.

Finally I said that they need to implement an automated system
that will nurture there suspects, prospects, and customers and
then they could watch their lead generation grow. Finally I said
they needed to get out of the lead generation mode and let a
system do it for them so they can do the things they like best
in their business like delivering their products and helping
customers. Now these same business owners can use these simple
ideas to bring in more leads, customers and referrals.

About the Author: George Ishee is the Founder and President of
PlumTree Marketing. Have you ever
wished you earn extra profits and not just depend on your
husband’s salary or even with your own income? If you do, then,
having a small business is one of the best endeavors you can
have.

However, your small business will never be successful unless
you know how to market your products effectively. Among the
various tools used in businesses, marketing is one of the most
important.

The continued existence of businesses is fully dependent on
marketing. Creating the channels of communication to fully
promote, advertise, or put on the market various products and
services is the main responsibility of marketing.

Giant companies have created marketing department to focus
directly on different marketing issues and strategies. However,
if you only have a small business, you have to focus more on how
to put your product in the market and make it known to the
public.

Here are some small business marketing ideas:

1. Go online

Websites are the perfect tool — they last longer and reach a
wider audience than traditional print ads. Plus, they are more
affordable.

With the proliferation of information technology these days,
many businesses are utilizing the potential of the Internet in
promoting their products and services.

Some companies specializing in website development offer
affordable packages. However, since you are into small business,
it is best that you opt for free websites. So if you are looking
for an even cheaper alternative, you can create your own company
blog for free.

2. Give free samples

Small businesses may not afford to hire advertising agencies to
handle their marketing strategies. Hence, getting alternative
solutions is best.

By giving free samples, consumers become aware of the kind of
quality your products or services have. As they say, what good
is an amazing product if no one knows it is amazing?

As a businessperson, it is not wise for your product to be
well-kept secret forever. Let people try your product or
service—create sample sizes if the expense gets too high—and let
the spread the word for you!

3. Create affiliate programs

Has your business reached a plateau? Are you getting the same
customers every single month? Well, teaming up with another
company is a great way to revamp your business without the usual
hassle. It helps you refresh your brand image and expand your
reach.

4. Print press releases

Although they are usually published in broadsheets, you may
also consider tweaking them for magazine and radio releases as
well. With the proper wording and timing, press releases are the
perfect way to maintain hype for your business.

5. Write e-zines or newsletters

Providing good reading material about your particular field
creates awareness and interest among the public. It also
establishes you as a knowledgeable industry leader. If your work
has been published, then you are probably someone people should
listen to.

Plus, with the combined number customers and subscribers, you
company will grow at an even faster rate.

6. Create a good product

Ads can only do so much. Instead of putting money on
advertising, concentrate on creating a great product. Nothing
sells a good product better than a good product, even if what
you have is only a small business.

It really pays to have a diversified, well planned, and well
thought of small business marketing plan. A good product will
get you nowhere unless other people knows about it.

About the Author: Mario Churchill is a freelance author and has
written over 200 articles on various subjects. Today,
most of the people in the world interact and shop online because
of its ease and quick turn-around. Internet marketing takes
advantage of this reality to make everyone’s lives better.

Business marketing and web marketing are the two main forms of
online business approaches. When it comes to business marketing,
advertisements and promotional emails are the two strategies
that individual businesses use attract online customers and
increase web traffic to their sites. The greater the traffic,
the better the business.

Web marketing, on the other hand, utilizes search engines to
draw in online customers who are searching for particular
services. These search engines provide customers with a constant
means of availability and support through specialty cataloging
where lists of multiple sites offering similar services are
created via key word assimilation. In this way, customers
seeking those particular services have at their disposal a
plethora of valuable resources, and, as is the case with
business marketing, an influx of website traffic is increased on
a daily basis.

Websites are virtual billboards posted along the cyber highway
of the Internet for all to see. These billboards lead customers
easily in the right direction so that traffic remains consistent
at all times. That’s why billboards are intended to focus on
attracting customers without much of an effort, so they really
don’t need to be found or are difficult for online shoppers to
see. Free membership is a common feature with many online
businesses so that customers find items easily and without the
aggravation of “red tape” or unnecessary fees. Again, the more
convenient and easy (not to mention less expensive) shopping is
for customers online, the better the business.

However, because of the ongoing competitiveness, virtually
thousands of sites exist offering similar products and services.
The key, then, is to have a site that will stand out among this
crowd and draw in the shoppers. Specific marketing is one way to
do this, as the particular is more attractive over the general
because the latter tends to have a mission that is not
well-focused. Many of those seeking services are looking for the
particular, so they see specific marketing as preferable to
their needs. Pay-per-click advertising allows website payment
based on the number of searchers who click on a site’s banner or
link.

Affiliate marketing is another common strategy, not to mention
one of the oldest methods used online. This concept is based on
the “buddy” system whereby business websites are associated with
others sites in the same or a similar field of service. Business
websites pay each affiliate a certain percentage or amount for
each click rerouted to them. For this reason, affiliate links
listed on any webpage should be tightly related to enhance
search engine applicability.

About the Author: Dustin Cannon, of Next Level Enterprises, LLC
is a successful Internet marketer working with top leaders in
the home business and Internet marketing industry.

What, you may ask...well I'll tell you...

I own my own business, although I work alongside another guy who owns his own business too.
Anyway recently there have been a couple of occasions when his emails were delayed in transit for some reason. So what do you do? We needed to make a decision on something urgently...

What we did was we went into my Video Conferencing room. I took host status and went into desktop sharing took him through into my copy of the information and we discussed things online. Do you have any idea just how convenient it was? I am sure in the past you would have had occasions when you have discussed, over the telephone, something that you are making a decision on and without the visual aspect it can be particularly difficult. The ability for desktop sharing and discussion while you are sharing in a secure environment is just fabulous. It certainly makes for a smoother business operation. All I can say is WOW this latest technology is fantastic and sooo affordable even for the small business owner. Yeah, Video Conferencing!!

Marketing Tips

Marketing Tips

An Effective Marketing Tip Means Business

By Charlie Cook
Is your business just coasting along? Has it been awhile since you’ve noticed a peak in sales? Are you looking for a way to increase business? An effective marketing tip could really make a positive difference in your business. There are many marketing ideas available to the entrepreneur. Finding one that works for you may require some research and perhaps even trial and error. No doubt with the right advice and venue, you can find a marketing tip that will result in business growth.

An effective marketing tip for one business may not work well for your business. The first step to take in determining what might work well for you is to figure out who your target audience is. For example, if you were promoting skin care, your target audience would likely be female. An effective marketing tip in this case would be to advertise in women’s magazines, on the women’s television network and any other venues that cater to the female population. Another great marketing tip in this scenario might be to set up a booth in a high traffic shopping area and provide complementary facials. Tradeshows are also great venues for promoting skin care. Either of these ideas used as a marketing tip could be quite beneficial and mean business.

Many individuals are taking advantage of the worldwide access provided by doing business online. Web site promotion is a marketing tip that has been increasing sales for many companies and businesses in recent years. Using web site promotion as a marketing tip requires some work and may mean the need to hire a professional web designer. However, if this marketing tip proves to be effective, the money spent would have been well worth it.

If looking for a marketing tip that might help your business, browsing the Internet for similar products or services may prove to be beneficial. Researching what other individuals are doing to attract business would provide you with prospective methods of marketing your product or service. If you see that a specific marketing strategy is having a positive impact on a similar business, it would certainly be worth implementing in your marketing plan. Nobody is ever happy when their business is taking a downward spiral. It would be so much nicer to see sales increase and business sky-rocket. An effective marketing tip could put you at the top of your game and make the competition sit up and take notice.

Mario Churchill is a freelance author and has written over 200 articles on various subjects.
