By acting together, by building this unprecedented instrument, the first component of an authentic global governance, we are working for dialogue and peace,” Chirac added.

Former EU Environment Minister Margot Wallstrom said, "Kyoto is about the economy, about leveling the playing field for big businesses worldwide." Canadian Prime Minster Stephen Harper once dismissed UN's Kyoto Protocol as a “socialist scheme.”

Essentially, socialism is the dumbing down of society, culture, and economics. But Americans don't seem to mind, and they certainly don't seem to object funding such schemes. After all, they've been sending their own flesh and blood to dumbed-down socially-engineered indoctrination camps, willingly dumping their property tax money into the school system.

And doesn't anyone find it the least bit creepy that Gore holds up his hands like iconoclastic Jesus and announces "I bring you good news" (of great joy) to all the people? It's a not-too-thinly-disguised effort by the fascists to legally grab more control of our economy and of the natural resources.

While I am somewhat disenchanted with the Big Oil culture our nation has built since the 1950s (that Planned Obsolescence and Materialistic Consumerism and all), you can't change an entire national culture and new economy with a swipe of the pen and a Gaiain emphasis on "green." Especially when the new economy rising isn't better than the old one. Bureaucrats, intoxicated with power, do such silly, idiotic things.

Australian town bans bottled water sales

SYDNEY (AP) -- Residents of a rural Australian town hoping to protect the earth and their wallets have voted to ban the sale of bottled water, the first community in the country - and possibly the world - to take such a drastic step in the growing backlash against the industry.

Residents of Bundanoon cheered after their near-unanimous approval of the measure at a town meeting Wednesday. It was the second blow to Australia's beverage industry in one day: Hours earlier, the New South Wales state premier banned all state departments and agencies from buying bottled water, calling it a waste of money and natural resources.

"I have never seen 350 Australians in the same room all agreeing to something," said Jon Dee, who helped spearhead the "Bundy on Tap" campaign in Bundanoon, a town of 2,500 about 100 miles (160 kilometers) south of Sydney. "It's time for people to realize they're being conned by the bottled water industry."

Australians, you're being conned even more by the bureaucrats. Banning bottled water for your little county does NOTHING for "saving" the earth. It does EVERYTHING in giving bureaucrats more power; in deluding more people; in giving government more and more control over natural resources.

Mundus vult decipi.

Paterson Shows Some Backbone

For a liberal, sometimes this guy is pretty cool. A regular Captain John Smith, he is. I refer to New York's governor, David Paterson. He's made it clear that foremost on his mind is New York's condition, and seems to be attacking the problems on par with a Morristown personal injury lawyer. So, I give him credit.

ALBANY (AP) — An angry New York Gov. David Paterson says he will try to withhold the pay and perks of senators until they do their job and if they fight him, he’ll take them to court.

Paterson is making the threat after the Senate held another worthless session in a three-week battle over who controls the chamber. A coalition of Republicans and two dissident Democrats mounted a June 8 power overthrow of the Democratic conference.

Now senators are talking about going home, saying Paterson’s order to stay in Albany during their summer vacation violates the constitution because Paterson didn’t also compel the Assembly to stay.

The Assembly completed its business at 2 a.m. Tuesday, an extension of Monday’s last day of the 2009 legislative session.

Even though some of his proposals may have been disagreeable (such as the Fat Tax), it's much easier to follow and respect a leader when he walks the walks and just doesn't talk the talk. Paterson seems REALLY interested in fixing New York State, even if he's going about it the wrong way.

In other very interesting news: Rudy Guilani, former presidential candidate and partner in the law firm representing NYRI, is calling for a state constitutional convention to fix what he calls "New York’s dysfunctional government."

Well, it's about time. But THIS convention had better FIX New York, not continue to divert all power and influence to New York City (which is what happened the last time we had a constitutional convention in the 1960s). I can't say I have much faith in Guilani, actually. And my faith in New York State is hanging by a very tenous thread.

Then again, we've reached near bottom. I suppose we have nowhere to go but up, eh?

Utica: The Little Dictator

The small city of Utica, NY, is quabbling over a private property dispute. This story sums up the major, major problems with the city and those who run it. It's just over the top.

UTICA —The city has taken a downtown landlord to court in an attempt to get him to repair the historic Genesee Street building he owns.

Joseph Vitale, whose address is listed in court papers as on Clinton Street in the city, owns the former Jacoby Appliance Parts store at 96-98 Genesee St. The building was recently designated a recognized site of the Underground Railroad by the National Park Service.

A city court judge is now deciding on an order to show cause brought by the city against Vitale after several codes violations - including a large hole in the roof and general disrepair - were cited over the past several years.

The judge could decide to order Vitale to repair the property, let the city do the work and then bill Vitale or rule against the city, said city Assistant Corporation Counsel Joan Harris, who handles codes issues for the city. At a May 19 court date, neither Vitale nor a lawyer representing him was present, she said.
Vitale could not be reached for this story.

Action on the building can not come fast enough for neighbors.
Frank Elias, who owns the nearby Utica Roasting Co., said the building's condition affects the whole block.

“In order for a retail community to survive in this Gateway District, there has to be other investors and retail properties,” said Elias, also president of the Mohawk Valley Chamber of Commerce. “It's shameful that this is what people see of our downtown and it's unfortunate that it prohibits others from investing in this area.”

Tim Reed, executive director of the National Distance Running Hall of Fame, which also is on the block, said the building's condition is a particular shame because it's one of the first structures people see when they enter downtown.

“We want to be as welcoming as possible when it comes to entering our city and I don't think it sends a great message,” Reed said.

The building is the site of a famous escape by two black men in the 1830s. The men were targeted by Virginia slave catchers, according to a recent news release from the Oneida County Historical Society.

While it's wonderful and stupendous (so throw the fireworks) that the building has been deemed a historic site by New York's National Park Service, the parcel has been privately owned for years. I'd like to know upon what legal basis a state organization can swoop in, declare a piece of private property as an "historic" site, and take authority (but not the expense of) major repairs and renovations.

I will also mention that the historical event that occurred at the property seems pretty insignificant, too insignificant to be declared a historic site, and especially under the nose of the property owner. The entire things smells very fishy.

And I take great issue with the comments of neighbors Elias and Reed. They are concerned that this area of Geneseee Street is "shameful" and not "welcoming"?! Hello?! There are a few stripper joints right next door! How about those?! I find it unconscionable that there is this push for a private property owner to repair his roof at his own expense by mandate of the state; yet nothing is said about the disgraceful and disgusting businesses that create the seedy atmosphere there to begin with. Unless this is Utica's idea of being "welcoming."

Federal Reserve to Grab More Power

So what do you think of all those nutso "conspiracy theorists" now?

Federal Reserve to gain power under plan

The Federal Reserve, already arguably the most powerful agency in the U.S. government, will get sweeping new authority to regulate any company whose failure could endanger the U.S. economy and markets under the Obama administration's regulatory overhaul plan.

The final plan due to be released on Wednesday -- which originally aimed to streamline and consolidate banking and securities regulation in one or two agencies -- now is expected to sidestep most jurisdictional disputes and simply impose across the board standards to be applied by all financial regulators, according to administration and industry sources.

The most likely candidate for elimination is the Office of Thrift Supervision, whose failure to detect and forestall problems at Countrywide, IndyMac, Washington Mutual and other freewheeling mortgage lenders is thought to have contributed to the financial crisis.

I take issue with the first sentence of the article: "The Federal Reserve, already arguably the most powerful agency in the U.S. government, ..." Truly, the Federal Reserve IS the U.S. government. Our Constitution and Bill of Rights have little or no power, in all reality. It is the Federal Reserve Board that has called the shots in this country, and the IRS has been it's bulldog.

The U.S. Federal Reserve Board is an unelected, unappointed group of oligarchs, overseen by international bankers. These international bankers, incidentally, also control the other central banks of the world.

I remain completely baffled by the tepid and apathetic response of Americans to such knowledge. Our liberties and our country are on the edge of the precipice of destruction and nary an outcry, except from those who run around in circles crying out about "conspiracy theorists." Dear reader, when a theorist's theories reveal truth concerning a REAL conspiracy, it is no longer a theory; it is fact.

This is What Happens...

... when you sell your wealth to a foreign country. Good God. Our nation is so very vulnerable, it makes my knees quiver.

Russia May Swap Some U.S. Treasuries for IMF Debt

Russia may switch some of its reserves from U.S. Treasuries to International Monetary Fund bonds, the central bank said today. The comment drove Treasuries and the dollar lower.

...The IMF, which has rescued economies from Pakistan to Iceland in the past year, has never issued bonds before and is seeking more cash to finance loans and aid to member countries during the worst economic slump in the fund’s 64-year history.

Where did I see it posted that The U.S. national debt is over $500,000 on the head of every U.S. citizen?! And the debt just keeps on rolling through! You cannot run a country in this way! This is all some kind of nightmare or a very bad nuphedra review!

President Barack Obama on Tuesday proposed budget rules that would allow Congress to borrow tens of billions of dollars and put the nation deeper in debt to jump-start the administration's emerging health care overhaul.

The "pay-as-you-go" budget formula plan is significantly weaker than a proposal Obama issued with little fanfare last month.

It would carve out about $2.5 trillion worth of exemptions for Obama's priorities over the next decade. His health care reform plan also would get a green light to run big deficits in its early years. But over a decade, Congress would have to come up with money to cover those early year deficits.

...The federal deficit is on pace to explode past $1.8 trillion this year, more than four times last year's all-time high. The record borrowing is credited with pushing up interest rates, which could imperil chances for a recovery later in the year.

Are these people insane? Who is advising these actions? Why are our politicians absolutely hell-bent on killing our country and destroying our currency?! (I realize these are all rhetorical questions; please allow me to vent).

Today's national bills are so grossly exaggerated and we are so indebted that OUR COUNTRY WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO PAY IT OFF. The only way out is to completely eradicate the existing system. It is inevitable, truly. And there are only two choices with this: throw away the Keynesian policy and return to the original intent (gold standard and ditch the Federal Reserve); or, submit to a shared, global currency that is controlled by a select few (our Founders called this "slavery."). Which do you think will happen?

Take It From Us: Don't Do It This Way

The CBS headline alone was enough to make me smirk: Chaos Rules The Day In The Capital District. So how is today any different than any other day since the 1940s?

Aftershocks of the New York State Senate shake up were rippling through the state capital Tuesday. With all the chaos, confusion and hard feelings, many in Albany are wondering who's in charge and what happens next?

Less than a month ago, Democrats and Republicans posed like one big happy family for their class picture, but a dramatic coup to depose Senate Majority Leader Malcolm Smith has left everybody in Albany wondering what's happening next, and has left an awful lot of hard feelings.

"I think it's absolutely distasteful, it was a side show," Smith spokesman Austin Shaffran said. "It was politics at the worst and its something Senate Republicans should be ashamed of."

I don't know about you, but I am very weary of "side shows" being the only national news coverage Upstate New York gets. Nonetheless, it'll make you smile. Unless you are a Democrat, of course. Heh.

I recently asked my friend's little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be president some day.

Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I asked her, "If you were president what would be the first thing you would do?"

She replied, "I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people."

Her parents beamed.

"Wow... what a worthy goal." I told her, "But you don't have to wait until you're president to do that. You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I'll pay you $50. Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where homeless guys hang out, and you can give them the $50, you earned, to use toward food and a new house."

She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, "Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?"

I said, "Welcome to the Republican Party."

Her parents still aren't speaking to me.

Thanks to Patriot Post for another good chuckle.

FFQF: Witty Ben

I haven't been on vacation, haven't been absorbed in the latest, fascinating XBox games (as nice as they are); nor have I fallen off the earth. Benjamin Franklin

"By removing the Bible from schools we would be wasting so much time and money in punishing criminals and so little pains to prevent crime. Take the Bible out of our schools and there would be an explosion in crime." Benjamin Rush

I have been accused by some of being "against" public schooling. On the contrary, I believe public schooling to be a beneficient institution, when instituted correctly and justly. But our current public education system is neither correct nor just; it is a corrupt indoctrination camp for the social engineering of the masses. The government runs the schools to rear little robots agreeable to this system of tyranny that the government has created. That, as well as the hostility toward Christianity and the blantant acceptance of the secular humanist religion taught in the schools, gives me reason to stand fully and confidentally against the American public education system.

I remain completely baffled at Christian parents who, seemingly blind to the natureof this schooling system, continue to send their children to these camps. Some are completely arrogant in their "decision," warning other Christians not to "judge" them nor criticize them with facts. And it is not merely Christians that I criticize: I would think that any loving parent would thoroughly investigate the philosophy and policy of these government-run schools before sending little Susie out on the school bus. But I would especially expect this of Christians. Sadly, this is not so.

I attribute this stupor to the fact that most of these parents were probably reared by the government in said government schools, and therefore, they naively believe that sending out the next generation to the same institution is harmless. But parents-- the public school of your youth has radically changed. It would do your children well if you peered a little into the philosophies of the schools. Such a course would take a little more time than skimming, say, magazine-style diet pill reviews; one such book I can recommend is Marlin Maddoux' America Betrayed. It's an older book, written in the 1980s when the exposes first started rolling. It's an eye-opener. Or you can do an Internet search on John Dewey, the father of our modern education system, or look up the very enlightening articles and books written by Dr. Samuel L. Blumenfeld. Or you can simply open up your children's textbooks and start reading. There's some disgusting lies, propaganda, and smut being pushed on kids today.

Many of America's founding fathers were homeschooled, merely because their region lacked a formal school district at that time, or Indian raids and wars made travel difficult. They were not against public schooling, per se; but if they knew of the indoctrination and of the barring of the Bible and prayer in schools, without a doubt they'd spell out our nation's demise in a moment. And this is no doubt what we are witnessing today.

Founding Father's Quote Friday is hosted at Meet the Founders blog

Good Gracious, All These Accidents

Accidents and "human error" abound these days. He cited estimates that a ballot can take up to 13 days to reach an overseas voter.

Oopsie! Most military persons tend to vote Conservative, by the way. Gosh darn it, we'll just have to DO something about all this human error.

Buffalo Plane Crash Linked to Pilots Fatigue

The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board's inquiry in Washington focused its attention on pilot fatigue as a possible contributing factor to the crash of Continental Airlines Flight 3407, which killed all 49 people aboard and one person on the ground.

Co-pilot Rebecca Shaw, 24, was working out of Newark Liberty International Airport and had complained about having a cold on the day of the Feb. 12 crash.

The night before the crash, she flew overnight as a passenger from Seattle, investigators told the hearing. The trip required her to change planes in Memphis en route to Newark.

Uh huh. Well, what about the PILOT of the plane, an experienced pilot who was making three times more than the co-pilot (which of COURSE means that he was not fatigued nor inexperienced)?

Renslow reportedly had little hands-on experience with a stick-pusher — a critical component in a system used in emergencies. It automatically kicks in when a plane is about to stall, pointing the aircraft's nose down into a dive so it can pick up enough speed to allow the pilot to guide it to a recovery.

According to flight data records recovered from the crash, the captain put the stick-pusher in the wrong position when the plane began to nose dive. Renslow pulled back on the plane's control column, apparently trying to bring the aircraft out of the sudden dive by raising the nose up. Pushing forward to gain speed is the proper procedure.

Pardon me, but as unfamiliar with a stick-pusher as Renslow may have been, as an experienced pilot with at least some hands-on experience, it's pretty obvious that he would know which direction to move the stick. I mean, I've never even been in a cockpit, but even I've seen those old Sky King shows.

The entire crash is suspicious, and should be treated as such. It's by Dr. Mercola at the Natural Health Center, based in Illinois. He gives resource links to the article, and presents a well-researched and intellligent discussion. It is a lengthy article, but a MUST READ: Critical Alert: The Swine Flu Pandemic.

In the article, Dr. Mercola addresses the fear-mongering:

I suspect you have likely been alarmed by the media's coverage of the swine flu scare. It has a noticeable subplot - preparing you for draconian measures to combat a future pandemic as well as forcing you to accept the idea of mandatory vaccinations.

On April 27, Time magazine published an article which discusses how dozens died and hundreds were injured from vaccines as a result of the 1976 swine flu fiasco, when the Ford administration attempted to use the infection of soldiers at Fort Dix as a pretext for a mass vaccination of the entire country.

Despite acknowledging that the 1976 farce was an example of “how not to handle a flu outbreak”, the article still introduces the notion that officials “may soon have to consider whether to institute draconian measures to combat the disease”.

The 1976 Swine Flu scare:

My guess is that you can expect to see a lot of panic over this issue in the near future. But the key is to remain calm -- this isn't the first time the public has been warned about swine flu. The last time was in 1976, right before I entered medical school and I remember it very clearly. It resulted in the massive swine flu vaccine campaign.

Do you happen to recall the result of this massive campaign?

Within a few months, claims totaling $1.3 billion had been filed by victims who had suffered paralysis from the vaccine. The vaccine was also blamed for 25 deaths.

However, several hundred people developed crippling Guillain-Barré Syndrome after they were injected with the swine flu vaccine. Even healthy 20-year-olds ended up as paraplegics.

And the swine flu pandemic itself? It never materialized.

The real numbers and level-headed account of the current disease:

According to the World Health Organization's Epidemic and Pandemic Alert and Response site; as of April 27, there are:

* 91 laboratory confirmed cases in U.S. -- 0 deaths (reported by CDC as of April 30)
* 26 confirmed cases in Mexico -- 7 deaths
* 6 confirmed cases in Canada -- 0 deaths
* 1 confirmed case in Spain -- 0 deaths

Additionally, nearly all suspected new cases have been reported as mild.

Personally, I am highly skeptical. It simply doesn't add up to a real pandemic.

But it does raise serious questions about where this brand new, never before seen virus came from, especially since it cannot be contracted from eating pork products, and has never before been seen in pigs, and contains traits from the bird flu -- and which, so far, only seems to respond to Tamiflu. Are we just that lucky, or... what?

There are very reasonable suspicions about this disease, and it's extremely unusual origin and characteristics:

Not one to dabble too deep in conspiracy theories, I don't have to strain very hard to find actual facts to support the notion that this may not be a natural mutation, and that those who stand to gain have the wherewithal to pull off such a stunt.

Just last month I reported on the story that the American pharmaceutical company Baxter was under investigation for distributing the deadly avian flu virus to 18 different countries as part of a seasonal flu vaccine shipment. Czech reporters were probing to see if it may have been part of a deliberate attempt to start a pandemic; as such a "mistake" would be virtually impossible under the security protocols of that virus.

The H5N1 virus on its own is not very airborne. However, when combined with seasonal flu viruses, which are more easily spread, the effect could be a potent, airborne, deadly, biological weapon. If this batch of live bird flu and seasonal flu viruses had reached the public, it could have resulted in dire consequences.

There is a name for this mixing of viruses; it's called "reassortment," and it is one of two ways pandemic viruses are created in the lab. Some scientists say the most recent global outbreak -- the 1977 Russian flu -- was started by a virus created and leaked from a laboratory.

Another example of the less sterling integrity of Big Pharma is the case of Bayer, who sold millions of dollars worth of an injectable blood-clotting medicine to Asian, Latin American, and some European countries in the mid-1980s, even though they knew it was tainted with the AIDS virus.

So while it is morally unthinkable that a drug company would knowingly contaminate flu vaccines with a deadly flu virus such as the bird- or swine flu, it is certainly not impossible. It has already happened more than once.

But there seems to be no repercussions or hard feelings when industry oversteps the boundaries of morality and integrity and enters the arena of obscenity. Because, lo and behold, which company has been chosen to head up efforts, along with WHO, to produce a vaccine against the Mexican swine flu?

Baxter!11 Despite the fact that ink has barely dried on the investigative reports from their should-be-criminal "mistake" against humanity.

According to other sources,12 a top scientist for the United Nations, who has examined the outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus in Africa, as well as HIV/AIDS victims, has concluded that the current swine flu virus possesses certain transmission "vectors" that suggest the new strain has been genetically-manufactured as a military biological warfare weapon.

The UN expert believes that Ebola, HIV/AIDS, and the current A-H1N1 swine flu virus are biological warfare agents.

Dr. Mercola's article is very comprehensive and informative. Please read it before you take heed to anything the media is saying.

Let's Play P.I.G.

After sitting back for a few days, watching the media (and pharmaceutical companies) go absolutely ballistic about this "swine flu" thing, I have my strong suspicions that not only is the hysteria man-made, but this "virus" just may be, also. The rate of speed with which the virus appeared and traveled, not to mention its combination of viruses very unique in the flu pool, have made any thinking person very wary.

Of course, I'm not saying that it IS man-made, but that it is very possible. Even that seem anathema to some ("Of COURSE our government would never do this!" they say. Rrrright-- this isn't teen acne we're talking about here, people). The government has a record of abusing people as guinea pigs to get what they want...

And if the governments of North America were so terribly concerned about a "pandemic," why haven't the borders been closed? Unless, of course, the governments of North America are desiring a pandemic.

Jean, a fellow blogger and a NY Examiner, has had some excellent articles about this issue of pandemics. With all this information, something smells that there has been a media blackout of very important (yea, critical) news reports. And why the laissez faire attitude by the governments? Containment of the virus has not been in their agenda at all-- but control of the populace is. That makes them immediately suspect, in my opinion. We'll see how things develop. But realize that the government is looking for any tiny excuse to shut down our communications with each other, to suspend the Bill of Rights, and enforce martial law. Upstate New York seems to be the petri dish, too.

A recently proposed but little-noticed Senate bill would allow the federal government to shut down the Internet in times of declared emergency, and enables unprecedented federal oversight of private network administration.

The bill's draft states that "the president may order a cybersecurity emergency and order the limitation or shutdown of Internet traffic" and would give the government ongoing access to "all relevant data concerning (critical infrastructure) networks without regard to any provision of law, regulation, rule, or policy restricting such access."

Why would they shut down the Internet? Why not the newspapers, magazines, radio, and television? Because shutting down the Internet is shutting down the people.

All very suspicious.

FFQF:Perpetual Debt As A Means of Slavery

When we think of slavery, we often think of white man vs. black man, as it has been ingrained into our brains since elementary school. But truly, this is a perverted view of slavery.

slav·er·y (slā'və-rē, slāv'rē)
n. pl. slav·er·ies

The state of one bound in servitude as the property of a slaveholder or household.

The practice of owning slaves.

A mode of production in which slaves constitute the principal work force.

The condition of being subject or addicted to a specified influence.

A condition of hard work and subjection: wage slavery.

We must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt.

We must make our election between economy and liberty,

or profusion and servitude.

If we run into such debt, as that we must be taxed in our meat and
in our drink, in our necessaries and our comforts, in our labors and
our amusements, for our calling and our creeds...

[we will] have no time to think,

no means of calling our miss-managers to account

but be glad to obtain subsistence by hiring ourselves
to rivet their chains on the necks of our fellow-sufferers...

And this is the tendency of all human governments.

A departure from principle in one instance
becomes a precedent for [another ]...

till the bulk of society is reduced to be mere automatons of misery...

And the fore-horse of this frightful team is public debt.

Taxation follows that, and in its train wretchedness and oppression."

-- Thomas Jefferson. Source: Letter to Samuel Kercheval, Monticello, July 12, 1816

We're always hearing of that "separation of church and state" quote by Jefferson-- with progressives swinging it around like Samson's donkey's jawbone, but what of this quote above mentioned? Or hundreds of others, where he vehemently warns and admonishes us of homosexuality, heavy and undue taxation, and secular public education all of which are the darlings of progressives?

Nonetheless, undue taxation (and its largesse deemed on worthy sectors of society) is a means of enslaving those who are governed. Heavy and undue taxation by government is forced. It is never an "oops, I did it again!" event. It is FORCED. It is PURPOSEFUL. It is the enslaving of the next generation, as well as the present one, to a lifetime of labor to pay off the public debt. It is a CRIME.

You do not have to be a poor black man to be a slave to someone. Your entire life and that of your descendants is one of perpetual labor, working for the Machine that has been purchased and is controlled by that distant government.

How could it be that, before the Emancipation Proclamation, hundreds of thousands of black people never resisted their chains and bondage? How was it that so few tried to escape? Because the Massa' had brainwashed the slaves into thinking that they could not live without him; that everyone they loved and needed was here in chains, too; that the world beyond the cotton fields was a frightful place. And obviously, most of the slaves believed it so, simply because the Massa' said so.

Our government will never halt the slave trade while the slaves are happily chained. I will not believe that this system of indentured servitude for the past 100+ years is accidental. Even a cursory look at history tells me so. And this system of slavery is much more than IRS codes and being taxed by income, purchases, etc. It is a belief system, whereby we are convinced to believe that the government takes care of us-- they clothe us, regulate and manage our farms, feed us, educate us, protect us, bail us out after hurricanes, etc. It is a belief system taught and propagated from our earliest memories-- in the education system (managed, coincidentally, by the government) and constantly promoted to us by the mass media (influenced, coincidentally, by the government). It is this belief system that must be challenged and removed. Because even if the burdens of taxation are removed, and we remain dependent on the Massa', we are still wearing the chains of slavery, and it will be only a matter of time before a heavier burden is placed on us.

Founding Father's Quote Friday is hosted at Meet the Founders blog

This post will incur an extra 13.25 years in U.S. Concentration Camp Facility.

FFQF: The Power to Destroy

"An unlimited power to tax involves, necessarily, a power to destroy; because there is a limit beyond which no institution and no property can bear taxation."

--John Marshall, McCullough v. Watts even covered it all; but his point is made.

Taxed
Enough
Already

And it isn't merely the taxation that is the most disturbing; it is the "power to destroy." Through burdensome taxation, the government is given more and more power to meddle in our lives, legislate and regulate everything we do, accumulate and store our personal information, and more. Our government is in serious need of some appetite suppressants or something. Taxation, while extremely burdensome and easy to finger as a problem, is not the only issue at hand. We must be alert to the larger picture; that is, of tyrannical government so forceful and intrusive in its measures that it swallows us whole.

Founding Father's Quote Friday is hosted at Meet the Founders blog

Obama Just Hates Competition

What a bigot. What a narrow-minded, religious kook. Yeah, Barack Obama. he can't handle the "IHS" symbol in a church, so he ordered the symbol to be covered in black.

Amidst all of the American flags and presidential seals, there was something missing when President Barack Obama gave an economic speech at Georgetown University this week -- Jesus.

The White House asked Georgetown to cover a monogram symbolizing Jesus' name in Gaston Hall, which Obama used for his speech, according to CNSNews.com.

The gold "IHS" monogram inscribed on a pediment in the hall was covered over by a piece of black-painted plywood, and remained covered over the next day, CNSNews.com reported.

What's even more amazing is that the bishops covered it! And left it covered for the next day! (Perhaps they wanted to keep it up in case Obama made a second advent or something?)

Funny. Remember when John Ashcroft had a nude statue covered by a sheet while he gave a speech in front of it? How the liberals cowled and crowed, accusing Ashcroft & Co. of "censorship." A vitiated state of morals, a corrupted public conscience are incompatible with freedom." Patrick Henry

"(If a) people (are) so demoralized and depraved as to be incapable of exercising a wholesome control, their reformation must be taken up ab incunablis (from the beginning). Their minds (must) be informed by education what is right and what wrong, (must) be encouraged in habits of virtue and deterred from those of vice by the dread of punishments, proportioned indeed, but irremissible. In all cases, (they must) follow truth as the only safe guide and eschew error which bewilders us in one false consequence after another in endless succession. These are the inculcations necessary to render the people a sure basis for the structure of order and good government." Thomas Jefferson

Certainly, sports, sports gifts, entertainments, and amusements have their place in society; there is nothing wrong with earned leisure time and fun. However, when amusements and leisure become the absorbing activities of a narcistic society-- beware, the chains of slavery are soon to be clapped. Our politicians have become so assured of our entertainment-doping that they are exceedingly bold with their plans. As Hitler published Mein Kamp yet his plans were virtually ignored by the Germans, so the Federal Reserve and the Fascist Government of the United States has outlined their agenda. Too few are awake enough to rise from the stupor to see.

Founding Father's Quote Friday is hosted at Meet the Founders blog

V.I.C.T.O.R.Y.

NYRI Quits; Power Line Project DEAD.

FFQF: E Unum Pluribus?

I'm going to cheat somewhat here, as I am copying and pasting a quote delivered to my email inbox today. It is inexplicably relevant to the topics I've been discussing of late (and of which has been the topic of discussion amongst liberty lovers for years).

"The several states composing the United States of America are not united on the principle of unlimited submission to their general government; but by a compact under the style and title of a Constitution for the United States, and of amendments thereto, they constituted a general government for special purposes [and] delegated to that government certain definite powers and whensoever the general government assumes undelegated powers, its acts are unauthoritative, void, and of no force. To this compact each state acceded as a state, and is an integral party, its co-states forming, as to itself, the other party. The government created by this compact was not made the exclusive or final judge of the extent of the powers delegated to itself, since that would have made its discretion, and not the Constitution the measure of its powers."

-- Thomas Jefferson
(1743-1826), US Founding Father, drafted the Declaration of Independence, 3rd US President

Source: in his draft of the Kentucky Resolutions of 1798 which were written in response to an attempt by Congress to expand the criminal jurisdiction of the federal government through a set of laws entitled the "Alien and Sedition Laws."

As much as I admire John Adams and dislike Thomas Jefferson, I believe Jefferson was within Constitutional boundaries when he rejected Adams' Alien and Sedition Acts and wrote the subsequent Kentucky Resolutions of 1798. The issue of State's Rights is sticky, but Jefferson is perfectly correct that the binding force of the Union is not the federal government, but rather the Constitution and it's limited powers. For this, I stray from being considered a complete Federalist. It doesn't take a technical and vocational schools guide to see that the states are sovereign for their own affairs:

Tenth Amendment:
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

I could never understand why Federalists clung to the Elastic Clause, particularly considering the wording of the 10th amendment.

The Kentucky Resolutions brought their own abuse, I realize, fueling the secessionist fever that led to the Civil War. I am one of those who count Abraham Lincoln as being in the wrong by asserting dictatorial powers for preserving the Union. Slavery is wrong, always was wrong, but so is tyranny; the Civil War concerned much more than the issue of slavery. At it's basest, the issue was about State's Rights. Certainly secession was and is deadly to the Union. Equally, so is federal tyranny. I suppose the real question is, Which is worse?

Founding Father's Quote Friday is hosted at Meet the Founders blog

The Good Ol' Days of Josef Mengele

Saw this in the UK's Independent:

British scientists to create 'synthetic' blood

Human embryos will be used to make an unlimited supply for infection-free transfusions

A major research project is to be announced this week that will culminate in three years with the first transfusions into human volunteers of "synthetic" blood made from the stem cells of spare IVF embryos. It could help to save the lives of anyone from victims of traffic accidents to soldiers on a battlefield by revolutionising the vital blood transfusion services, which have to rely on a network of human donors to provide a constant supply of fresh blood.

The multimillion-pound deal involving NHS Blood and Transplant, the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service and the Wellcome Trust, the world's biggest medical research charity, means Britain will take centre stage in the global race to develop blood made from embryonic stem cells. The researchers will test human embryos left over from IVF treatment to find those that are genetically programmed to develop into the "O-negative" blood group, which is the universal donor group whose blood can be transfused into anyone without fear of tissue rejection.

Funny thing is, there are no human "donors" here, and no "synthetic blood" being manufactured at all. The concocted blood soup is a replication of blood extracted from HUMAN EMBRYOS. I haven't seen any embryos raising their hands to participate in this experiment.

The aim is to stimulate embryonic stem cells to develop into mature, oxygen-carrying red blood cells for emergency transfusions. Such blood would have the benefit of not being at risk of being infected with viruses such as HIV and hepatitis, or the human form of "mad cow" disease. The military in particular needs a constant supply of fresh, universal donor blood for battlefield situations when normal supplies from donors can quickly run out.

But developing blood made from the cells of spare IVF embryos will raise difficult ethical issues for people not happy with the idea of destroying embryos to create stem cells. It also raises the intriguing philosophical question of whether the synthetic blood will have come from someone who never existed. In theory, just one embryo could meet the nation's needs.

The comments to this article are just as enlightening as the article itself. It sheds a lot of light on the debauched and darkened mentality that "science will save us," and "it's just a glob of disposable tissue."

Gosh, I'll bet these people are lamenting the good ol' Nazi days, aren't they? They probably have regrets, getting rid of Hitler and his famous mad scientist, Dr. Josef Mengeles. Because those guys with all their knowledge and daring-do could have been SO USEFUL in this day and age. Are these people stupid, or smarter than we are?

Tax Town USA: NY's Staggering New Budget Unveiled

Proposed $131.8B Tax-And-Spend Plan Has Critics Howling; Average Family Of 4 May Be Shelling Out $5,000 Additional

Get ready to pay up.

The budget crisis in New York is so dire lawmakers are planning tax hikes on some of life's necessities, as well as some simple pleasures.

From bottled water, to beer, cigars and electricity, the cost could be going up for all of these and more.

Governor David Paterson said the new state budget is shared sacrifice, but its a tough sell.

If you live in New York City and suburbs there is only one thing you can do in reaction to the new state budget – gasp.

"This is not a happy budget," Senate Majority Leader Malcolm Smith, D-Queens, said.

No kidding. Critics said there are so many taxes and fee hikes the average family of four in our area can expect to shell out an additional $5,000 -- for now.

"I would like to tell you that this budget brings to an end our fiscal crisis, but I can't do that. That would be intellectually dishonest," Paterson said.

The budget puts an added income tax on households earning over $300,000 to raise $4 billion.

New York politicians seem hell-bent on pulling out the rugs from beneath us. What do they really want from New York? If Paterson was truly, truly serious about wanting to make ends meet in this state, he'd fire a good 35% of the adiminstrative bureaucrats that clog the state payroll, slash and burn the billions spent on pensions for retired state workers, and lower taxes to draw people to the state. But that's not even an option.

Ya gotta wonder, why not?
