The problem is of course that most companies travel only one way and if you rip that up, there's no place to go. Here in Rhode Island, we're providing an alternative path. The concept: come to RI, rip up your road, experiment with building a new one, and oh, by the way, you can keep your old road intact while you figure out a new way of doing things. Many people continue to mollify their concerns over the business imperative for innovation with superficial and soft approaches to the issues that must be faced. By doing so, they avoid the hard work of tearing up the road to rebuild the foundation of how they approach their product or service business from the strategy formation, product design, and whole product delivery perspectives.
