today i went with my sister to see the Frida Kahlo exhibit at the SF MOMA. even though it wasnt a weekend, it was still insanely crowded in the exhibit.  i was familiar with some of her works, they had been ones i had seen in books, but it is much more exciting to see her paintings in person.

so renegade was pretty cool, i was happy to share a booth with wrenay of shopwhimsy and stephanie of beetlelady books. when it was slow, i browsed through almost all the vendors, it was pretty overwhelming at times, the size of the festival pavilion is huge!

its been 3 weeks in peru - which has been amazing, i ate a ton of yummy food, explored the streets of lima, took a train  and climbed up to see machu picchu, flew on a little airplane to see the nasca lines, took a boat out to see the Ballestas Islands - where birds and penguins and sea lions live. i am making a zine soon about this trip...

after the meetup, me and nadine (theseawithin) headed over to the east bay and went to explore ikea and the east bay reuse depot!

1. i am going to peru! its finally confirmed - from may 24 to june 14 :) it will be my first time in south america, i cant wait to see peru...

2. i have a big project: a non profit called writerscorps, which teaches creative writing to youth in san francisco is celebrating their 15th anniversary this year.

i've been revisiting sabrina ward harrison's book spilling open which is simply her mixed media journal of trying to find herself and exploring her identity. i love how raw and expressive her  pages are. i keep finding new inspiration from her work.







i am also reading her 2nd and 3rd books - brave on the rocks and messy thrilling life, which are simply a continuation on spilling open.
