Snippets from the Trans March

I kicked off this Holigay with the San Francisco Trans March. In anticipation for the march, people (and their dogs) gather at Dolores Park to mingle and rally-up. The performance stage captures a willing audience but I spent my pre-march time distracted by all my friends, acquaintances and hot people.

The March began in a fairly typical manner; banners, chanting, fabulous outfits. The magic reached its climax when the Trans March collided with Critical Mass, a monthly bicycle demonstration. People from both contingencies were cheering and screaming. Bicyclists raised their bicycles above their heads. After a few minutes at the convergence on Market and Castro, many bicyclists joined the March back to the park.

Tour of the San Francisco Armory

I hadn't been to Kink.com since they were in the Porn Palace and I finally got a tour of the SF Armory for a Kink.com party for the Cybernet Expo. The space is amazing and the people are sweet. I have a feeling I'll be back there soon.

Fivestar's Podcast

This is a short exercise I did while taking Podcasting 101 at BAVC with Christopher Willits. I wanted to interview him about podcasting but he was too shy. Desperate for content to practice with, I sent a call out to my Twitter followers. Gastronomicdiva came to the rescue with content from Swing Life Style. I ended up laughing a little while reading it in class and there was a formatting problem on the page that blocked the text. Any way, hopefully I'll use these ideas sometime in the future.

I'm still recovering from International Ms. Leather weekend 2008. I met some great hot people, took advantage of their 24 hour play spaces and attended some fun and informative workshops including Brutal Affection: Punching, Kicking, Slapping and Sex... lead by Felice Shays.

The class description reads:

"It ain't about the brawn. Regardless of your size, gender, or physical ability, this highly interactive workshop uses scads of demonstrations to teach you fierce, passionate methods of slam, slap and thud. Learn to use your brain and a multitude of body parts to bring you and your partners to new found levels of physical, sensual, sexual intensity and intimacy. With humor, affection, straight talk, and smarts, Felice Shays will discuss and demonstrate technique, safety, partnered positions, head space, anatomy and helpful items. Also, as time allows, Felice will work with individuals, dyads and other combinations of partners to resolve their dilemmas of inequity of size, status, attitude or muscle. Open to all genders, all physical abilities, and all levels of experience."

Rope Management

I love rope. Tying other people up, getting tied up by other people and self bondage. I've never actually found it necessary (considering my budget) to invest in more expensive and better quality hemp, silk or even bamboo rope. I'm sure its really nice, I just don't have that kind of expendable income yet. (anyone want to sponsor me?)

Instead, I just use regular old nylon rope from the hardware store. I take out the guts (the inside chord) to make it softer and easier to handle. It works exactly the way I need it to. On occasion, I also pick up cotton rope (sometimes branded "Power Rope") at the multitude of 99 cent stores around SF. Since I can find unique and vibrant colors in this type of rope, I use it more for decorative rope "outfits".

In my past 3 or so years of playing with ropes, I've had some annoying and mildly embarrassing moments laundering them. I've pulled out wet wads of clothes tangled around a rope while doing laundry in a crowded laundry mat. I've learned a thing or two doing my best to provide excellent service to some wonderfully deserving Mistresses. This time, I wasn't thinking.

It's not the end of the world, only slightly annoying and somewhat amusing. I eventually untangled the ropes and now they're hanging all over my room to dry. This time I'll be more intentional about the way I store my ropes and follow Monk's advice(see video).

East Bay Dining Out For Life benefits Oakland's Vital Life Services which provides direct services like hot meals, transportation, counseling and massage to people living with HIV/AIDS.

Clips from the Olympic Torch Route

In summary, the Olympic Torch Relay was scheduled to take place in San Francisco today. Demonstrations leading up to the event included the Human Rights Torch Relay, individuals scaling the Golden Gate Bridge and a Tibet Rally and Peace March.

I followed coverage on Twitter and on Olympic Torch SF and used extra time on my lunch break to record video (above) at Third and King around 1pm. Protesters waited while San Francisco leaders rerouted the relay and canceled the ceremony to avoid conflict.

He misled supporters and opponents of the run. Local government action not only silenced the thousands of protesters exercising free speech today but threatens our future rights. We have to hold each other accountable to maintain the rights that allow us to work for justice throughout the world.

I'd like to see the people of San Francisco rally to hold the United States Government accountable for the same human rights violations we accuse the Chinese government. We need to demand our rights as agreed to by the United States Constitution. The call to action has long been made and I fear that if we wait much longer our ability to act will be stifled.

Walk in Death Valley

I spent the past weekend in Death Valley for Simona's birthday party AKA. Smoldering Woman. I took a bunch of video and just a few photos. I had an amazing time, as expected. This video is from a solo walk that I took up the road by our campsite. The audio is an old file I stumbled upon last night of my first dabblings with Garage Band more than a few years back. Changing Landscapes: Fresh Meat in the gallery

Last week, I went to the opening of Changing Landscapes, a Fresh Meat gallery show at Femina Potens. Curated by eddie gesso, the show features work by Jackadandy and Maxx Sizeler.

The site specific work focuses the integration and reconciliation of of identity, time and space. The show lasts through March 30, so check it out if you have a chance.

Tony Buff's Quick Arm Bind

GayVN awards and a few shots of tequila at the Powerhouse, I ended up at mr. Pam's Playhouse with some pretty cool and hot performers including Tony Buff and Derek da Silva. Spontaneously, I got a rope bondage demonstration for a Quick Arm Bind.

Probably with help from the tequila, I was a little confused by the end of the tie at first. Due to the off-the-cuff nature of the video, some of the details of the tie may be hard to catch. Regardless, I'm posting the footage because I think the models are beautiful, the rope is beautiful and it can serve as a good source of kinky inspiration. Hopefully I'll have more opportunities to work with these guys. Thank you both.
