I have yet to develop the pictures I took. But it was big and the convention we played for was big too.<br /><br />Think about this: of all the influential people that attended that convention we set the mood and probably served as a focal point that served as a medium for "big talk". But we did well. A gentleman from Guatemala discovered we were a mariachi, with roots and derivations from the indigenous Tonancin people of central America with the assimilation of Spanish, German, and French cultures, and commented that we "return to Mejico where we belong". In reply, I stated "I hope his business flounders". Hehe.<br /><br />That day was exciting because, along with Maya and Samantha, I was interviewed for Hispanics Today- an underrepresented media production regarding Hispanics and what they are doing.<br /><br />Austin meanwhile flirted with a girl who owned a business probably 15 years to his mayor. By the way "Guadalajara" was the best sounding that day. we had a lot of animo.<br />All the girls look hot; I'm always in the back and checking them out, I am guitaron!<br /><br />We practiced at the hotel some songs and ate a cheese steak (for clarificaiton in Mexican) carne asado burron con queso del tipo cualquiera. Its the shizzle and sizzle in downtown Philadelphia, but I still prefer Guero Canelo.<br /><br />The last night we went to a Gala or big party. Before we dressed in our zoot suits. Ramon and Alan were pimping. I was told all I needed was a chain to complete my ensemble. I wore a pinstriped suit and a balla tie.<br /><br />The Gala was situated in a ballroom resembling the size of the TCC ballroom or the like and had about 75 round tables sitting 12-15 pple each. You can estimate there were about 800 people there, but alot of them were 0lder (27 and above). We danced and danced to the music native to puerto rico. Imagine some bongos ,an electric bass, cow bell, marracas and a keyboard, some repetitive lyrics, and you have 5 hours of culture at your disposal. It was fun.<br /><br />When we returned home it was great knowing we had such a great time. I was thinking about Tucson and there really is no place like home no matter what part of the world you visit. Tucson has so much culture its just celebrating that culture in the midst of our hectic lives. I chilled with Victoria on the plane flight home and we learned alot about her bear named Roberto or Flavio...I cant remember.<br />Ramon M.
