This is the first exhibit and publication to use maps to focus on <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 /><st1:country-region st="on">Guatemala</st1:country-region> within the context of Central America, from both the perspective of “outsiders” in <st1:place st="on">Europe</st1:place> and indigenous and colonial “insiders.” Ninety-nine maps have been assembled, encompassing the various genres of maps of <st1:place st="on">Central America</st1:place>. Guatemala is no exception; we were recently notified that for the time being our flight on the Tikal tour has a US$ 18 surcharge. Those registering after the 1st of August will have to pay the difference on arrival in Guatemala.
