I've decided to not return to Disney Cruise Line, but i have had a few people email me who like the idea of taking my place. I hope a year from now i can try working in the parks for a summer through a school program, but that would not be for a good long while. If anybody would like to contribute to this blog, feel free to email me and I'll be more than Jeremy Milnehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06137307108410896509noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32439180.post-1163496699873375582006-11-14T01:31:00.000-08:002009-01-15T21:17:54.098-08:00Blog Theme Changed for the Time BeingDue to my schedule for schooling in Vancouver changing, and my retunring to vancouver, I won’t be able to post personal posts on this site for a good while. In the mean time, others have volunteered to share their day to day lives and adventure with Disney. If you would like to join this group of people contributing, please feel free to send an entry through my contact page.Jeremy Milnehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06137307108410896509noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32439180.post-1163059956665838112006-11-09T00:11:00.000-08:002007-03-17T19:49:27.115-07:00Yahhh Barfy! So much to update! Here we go…A few days ago we had my first rocky seas, yahhhhh!!! The ship kept at full speed to reach Florida even with the 20 foot waves. I sat in the crew bar watching them move up and down while nursing a Corona (which if done in excess is almost as good as friends). I ended up feeling bit barfy (is that a word?) and went back to my room early. Today I was able to get off Jeremy Milnehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06137307108410896509noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32439180.post-1162444587663784392006-11-01T21:08:00.000-08:002007-03-17T19:49:27.115-07:00Makes Me Feel like a PirateSt. Thomas is this seedy little store port in the Virgin Islands where every second shop carries jewelry. I found my way through most of the stores before I ran into Edson who was phoning family and friends while in port. It was both a relief and disconcerting to see the amount of security around the shopping zones; all the high gates with security booths on either side of them. I think of all Jeremy Milnehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06137307108410896509noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32439180.post-1162322496528318102006-10-31T11:17:00.000-08:002007-03-17T19:49:27.116-07:00Pumpkin Day!WHAT A NIGHT!! I’ve been to some parties with huge budgets that did not even come close to last night. There is something to say for having entertainers run a party. They gave it this amazing “Rocky Horror Picture Show” theme. I ended up going as a kid who escaped from the deck five children’s zone wearing footed Pajamas. Some of the youth counselors were kind enough to register me in the kids Jeremy Milnehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06137307108410896509noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32439180.post-1162184035288509982006-10-29T20:40:00.000-08:002007-03-17T19:49:27.116-07:00Island BoundFinally pictures! Yesterday on my way to the crew beach on castaway key, I was able to get a few snap shots of the floating juggernaut that I live on. And yes, it is as big as it looks. Along side it was the infamous “Flying Dutchman” from the movie “Pirates of the Caribbean 2”. I don’t suppose they are using it for the new movie as that it has been parked there for quite some time, though I Jeremy Milnehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06137307108410896509noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32439180.post-1161532730174476432006-10-22T08:55:00.000-07:002007-03-17T19:49:27.117-07:00Getting Use to This Floating Theme ParkThe whole thing seems a lot like a dream. Don’t get me wrong, by no means is it 100% what I wanted; but something feels fake about it all. Almost like it’s a movie and I’m waiting for the fade to dark. To start, my work itself is a British comedy, I’m one of the few without a British accent (for now). My Welsh boss, the typical straight man found in every comedy routine, resembles a well muscled Jeremy Milnehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06137307108410896509noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32439180.post-1161452116198592512006-10-21T10:30:00.000-07:002007-03-17T19:49:27.118-07:00First WeekBack Online and Ready to Start Blogging. Here are my updates so far....Oct 14th 2006This morning I woke up, only to hear knocking on the door and the noise of a key being jammed into the handle. My roommate, Noel, had decided to spend his last night bar hoping at the parks. But what accompanied him was the screams and yells of the mob of those that I had trained with. I’m going to really miss Jeremy Milnehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06137307108410896509noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32439180.post-1160801462524014662006-10-13T21:51:00.000-07:002007-03-17T19:49:27.118-07:00Final Day And Ready To GoToday was my last day of orientation, and as I sit here alone realizing that out of the 40 people I trained with, only 7 or so will be going to the same ship as me, I’m kind of sad. There were some really good people in that group. It really was an international experience; every corner of the globe was represented. They should send their “Traditions” crew to the united nation. Maybe it would Jeremy Milnehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06137307108410896509noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32439180.post-1160711429769340452006-10-12T20:46:00.000-07:002007-03-17T19:49:27.118-07:00Days Are Just PackedAnother good day, but as a matter of honesty I must admit, I have some healthy fear going into a new position. Though I think for the time being and out of respect for my contract, I would rather not mention what I do; I will say I am one of the cogs in the entertainment department. I know I have tons of experience doing what they need, but there is always that little voice in the back of Jeremy Milnehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06137307108410896509noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32439180.post-1160613808824641412006-10-11T17:42:00.000-07:002007-03-17T19:49:27.119-07:00The Smell of Burnt ToastSo I got in later than normal; about 10:30pm. I had a little trouble figuring out how to find my shuttle to the hotel. Lucky for me there was this great guy at the airport shuttle desk for Disney named Joe. Thanks a ton Joe! If you ever read this, you rock! I have to say, it turns out that the first day of “Traditions*” was kind of fun. Maybe it was just the group that I went through it with, Jeremy Milnehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06137307108410896509noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32439180.post-1160600950789499832006-10-11T14:08:00.000-07:002007-03-17T19:49:27.119-07:00On My WayMy last dinner at home came the way of Chinese food; accompanied by the traditional fortune cookie: “Being the first to try something new will bring you prosperity”.This was a far better sign than my flight’s feature movie: “Poseidon”. This is only one step up from watching “Alive”. Am I the only one who gets on a plane and pre-selects which passengers would be best for eating in the case of a Jeremy Milnehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06137307108410896509noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32439180.post-1155714447195452682006-08-16T00:43:00.000-07:002007-03-17T19:49:27.119-07:00Count DownOH!! HAPPY DAY!! That’s right kids, come October 10th, I’m going to be knee high in the gooey magic that is Disney. Until then, every day will be a small aneurysm of whimsical, constipating anticipation. Please keep in mind, if you're looking for some behind the scenes exposé, or political blog, you have come to the wrong place; this will be less about my work, and more about my destinations, the Jeremy Milnehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06137307108410896509noreply@blogger.com0
