Even Stars Sometimes Don't Shine

When wearing a short jacket with a high waist, the bottom of your outfit needs to be carefully considered. In this case, the shape of the jeans doesn't work; a wider leg or a flare bottom is all that is needed. This look, as it is, elongates the torso and shortens the legs to ill effect.

Striped leggings don't work on anyone.

Jumpsuits are tricky. Depending on the proportions, they tend to elongate the torso and shrink the legs, a very undesirable effect.

The right undergarment is all that is needed to let this star shine.

My Grandfather's Chair

The Herman Miller Sale is going on from June 6th to the 20th (2009, of course).

Today, the image I have of my grandfather is in this chair. As a kid, when I would visit my grandparents, my grandfather inevitably ended up in this chair. Was it its comfort? Its good looks? or its location? I'm not sure, but I think it was some magical combination.

It sure was fun to spin around in that chair on those rare occasions, when it was empty.

So when DWR calls this the granddaddy of loungechairs, I would have to agree.

The PS
The "it" bag was not there, but there were many one of a kind pieces from seasons past. Prices were reasonable so the "sell by" date was not a huge factor. There was only one size of each item so this sale is a real hit or miss depending on your size. You have to weed through the items as there is a wide variety, from ball gowns to casual clothes. Some items had stains or minor damage so you have to examine the items carefully.
