After practice and a late dinner, Brewer returned home and went to bed, where he suffered an apparent heart attack. CPR was performed and Brewer was rushed to Jewish Hospital in Kenwood. He was pronounced dead early Friday morning.

"This is a tragic loss. Bill was, more than anything, our friend and my brother. He made everyone around him better. The change has breathed much-needed life into both the offense and defense. In their past four contensts, they scored put 104 points on the board and have allowed just 28. Eshman completed 48 of 84 passes for 703 yards and six touchdowns since taking over under center.

Campbell County picked up a big win last week over Simon Kenton and Ryle, who lost earlier in the year to Simon Kenton but beat Campbell County, fell at home to the first place Boone County Rebels. It set up a three-way tie in Class 6A/District 6 for second place.

Ryle currently leads the tie-breaker standings with 18 points. Campbell County and Simon Kenton each have 11 points. But the Camels could reduce that margin with a win in Friday's game against Newport Central Catholic at Newport Stadium, according to the KY Post.

Dan Clasgenshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13930363596998991164noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31915903.post-15023204614221611982007-10-24T15:54:00.000-04:002007-10-24T16:07:26.026-04:00Cincinnati Hills League comes down to thisIndian Hill and Wyoming are both heading to the playoffs, but one of them is going to be wearing the Cinicnnati Hills League crown when they get there.

The two teams square off on Friday night at 6PM at Paul Brown Stadium undefeated in league play. Rod was instrumental in the Redskins' huge win last week at Glen Este as he completed 14 of 15 passes for 302 yards a 4 TDs and ran for two more scores. Anderson didn't punt one time in the entire game. Nice job Daniel! For his efforts he will receive a $25 gift card from Dick's Sporting Goods...remember every season starts at Dick's!

Dan Clasgenshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13930363596998991164noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31915903.post-60649457793807839052007-10-19T17:25:00.000-04:002007-10-19T17:27:52.998-04:00More "Hoovergate" NewsUSAToday.com
The Hoover (Ala.) school board accepted the resignation Thursday of assistant principal Carol Martin, named in an investigation for her role in grade changes of star football players. They are clearly the best two teams in NKY right now.

The Rebels furthered the case on Thursday by running all over the Colonels. Farris, who in my opinion is the best running back in NKY and perhaps one of the best in the city, totaled 319 yards on a punishing 42 carries. The Rebels' air attack was potent as well as wide receiver Mercier Doucette tallied 217 yards on two catches. The duo combined for five touchdowns, in what prove to be something of a shootout.

The Colonels' offense made some big plays, but once again it was costly turnovers and mental mistakes that did in Tom Spritzky's crew. Those are characteristics that you wouldn't expect for a senior-laden club like the Colonels. They will try to right the ship next week when they play county rivals Scott. A win there and Dixie could rebound to take the #2 seed in District play, a third straight loss and there playoff hopes could begin to diminsh.

Dan Clasgenshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13930363596998991164noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31915903.post-90122077843309426872007-10-12T16:54:00.000-04:002007-10-12T16:56:48.588-04:00Way to go James Miller! We like to send a big congratulations out to Holmes' QB James Miller and congratulate him and the Bulldogs on a big victory this past weekend over the Dixie Heights Colonels. The danger of these injuries is that much greater when coaches, often the first ones to assess athletes for concussions, do not know how to spot them or what to do when they happen.

Officials at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are so concerned by the potential danger of head injuries – about 300,000 athletes suffer from them each year – they have started an aggressive campaign to teach high school coaches their symptoms.

MUST READ TEAR-JERKING STORY ABOUT CODY LEHE

Dan Clasgenshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13930363596998991164noreply@blogger.com0
