I have always felt the the ship like nature of the bridge lended itself to the rust. The stone is not a good solution. On the way to work earlier this summer ...Thank god. On the way to work earlier this summer I saw the stairs and I cringed at the fact they were only a few years old and rusting. They reminded me of the DIA stairs around the parking garages; those things are horrible looking. Is it just failure by enigneers and architects to foresee painted, metal stairs rusting?
