Zoom on the option "Split File"

The Media-Convert option "Split" allows you to split files into smaller pieces.

You can definite the parameters for this application. A file can be split into a maximum of 20 pieces.

Here are a few examples for using this option :

- You've tried to send a voluminous video or file by e-mail to a friend but you failed as your file was in excess of the 3 Mb maximum size allowed for sending or receiving e-mails.

In that case, activate the option "Split", selecting a size of 3000 Kb. If your video size is 30 Mb, it will then be split into 10 pieces of 3000 Kb that you'll be able to send one by one separately to a friend, by e-mail.

-Your internet connection fails during the downloading process, you had to try many times before downloading a 50 Mb Media-Convert converted file and each time you lost an hour !

Activate the option "Split", specify a size of 2500 Kb per piece. Once converted, your video will be split into 20 numbered pieces. Then you'll be able to download each piece one by one. If your connection fails, you'll only lose the donwloading time of a single piece.

How to join the pieces back together?

I can't properly use Media-Convert : once my file sent, nothing happens !

Your browser may not be totally compatible with Media-Convert processing system.

How to convert office documents

You sometimes can't download software either because you're not at home or just because you're afraid of virus. "media-convert.com" let you convert and download a lot of different kind of files. Chose the file you'd like to convert. For example we chose a short text. Its type is Document Microsoft Word.

Now go to http://media-convert.com/convert/ Chose "File", clic on the right box to show the way to your file, then in "Input format" if the automatic detection didn't detect your file format , select it manually.

In "Output format" select the format for your conversion. You can see all the possibilities depending on your input format. Select "I accept the terms" Clic on "Convert"

Convert & crop a music file

Step 1 : select format and upload

1. Click on "Browse..." and choose the file to convert on your computer.
You can also convert a file located on the web : select the URL checkbox and enter the URL http://...
2. If the format of your file is not automatically detected, select it in the list.
3. Select the output format.
4. If you want to crop the file, select 'Split' in the options box.
5. Check "I accept the terms". Click on the link if you want to read the terms.
6. Click on "Convert" to start.
Your file is now transmitted to Media-Convert.

Step 2 : crop

Go to step 4 if you choose the convert the whole file.
1. Use this flash panel to play the file and find the split points (start and end time to crop).
2. Give the start time.
3. Give the end time.
4. If you think the start and end time is ok, click "Convert" and go to step 4.
5. If you want to listen to the extract before, click "Listen".

Step 3 : crop (listen)

1. Use the 2 flash panels to play the file and the extract.
