I fell in love with this old barn where we did the Anderson family portraits. When I see old barns and houses, I often wonder about the lives that were lived in that very spot. And the fact that the weathered textures and colors create great backgrounds is a plus!

Senior May Moments

For the month of May only, we are waiving senior portrait session fees! All rising seniors who book their portrait session before midnight on May 31st will not have to pay a session fee -- savings of $150! The session must take place by September 1st. The senior portrait session can be in studio or on location, or a combination of both. There's no limit to the number of wardrobe changes, so have fun with it!

The first rising senior to contact us to book a senior portrait session in response to this post will get a preview party at the studio! Bring up to 10 of your friends to preview your images and we'll provide the pizza or Chick-Fil-A -- your choice.

I did this shot in flipflops last night when it was 22 degrees. When you spend most of your life in Southern California and make "snowmen" out of tumbleweeds (seriously!!), I guess you do crazy things when the snow falls.

We are located at 110 Depot Street in Toano, Virginia 23168. From Williamsburg, take Route 60 towards Toano. You'll pass Equilibrium, a workout studio, and the Post Office. Depot Street will be your next immediate right turn. We are the second driveway on the right. Our studio is in a white 2 story house that sits behind a one story white house. The previous contests have been fueled almost exclusively by word of mouth. So to reward you for spreading the word about our studio, we will give you a $10 portrait credit for each mom that mentions your name when she books a session with us!

February 21 - March 13, 2009: Capture Your Bebe Contest 2009

We are beginning sign-ups for the 3rd annual Capture Your Babie Contest. The contest is open to children newborn to age 5 and you can sign up online by clicking on this link.

The contest begins Saturday, February 21 and runs through Friday, March 13. This is our first attempt at online scheduling so please bear with us if there are any quirks.

This is also our first year of doing the contest at our studio and if you've participated before, things will be slightly different. There is a small session fee of $10 per child to participate and that entire session fee will go to the Maggie Smith liver transplant fund. I'll post the blog link soon and you can read all about Maggie's incredible journey. She lives in York and has been through quite a bit in her young life!

You will still receive a complimentary 5x7 image for each child who participates. We will not be posting images online to order this year so when you sign up for a session, you will also need to sign up for a portrait preview session with Sara and she'll help you pick your contest entry as well as walk you through the ordering process.

Capture This Moment Photograpfie is excited to have an exhibit at the First Friday Cafe at Grace Covenant Church on Jamestown Road tomorrow night at 7:00PM. The First Friday Cafe is a fun family event with exhibits from a few local artisans as well as music and coffee (of course!).
