Congratulations to everyone who participated in the PAWG Colorguard/Drill Team Competition and congratulations to those who placed. The day was awesome. The Cadet and Senior project officers did an outstanding job also.

      Emphasizing core values etc...
      FC's Spend time discussing what each means and how to apply them to CAP
     D&C Standards
      To insure uniformity D&C goals will be mapped up. C's are to accomplish these goals, in order, at the speed of their flight.
     Smaller Classes
       A rotating schedule is being developed to cut down the class sizes. This allows more personal attention and hands on learning.
      Down time during testing on Saturday will be used by the FC's to do hip pocket training or allow their shadows to give a class. Topic is up to the FC. Due to testing not all cadets will be present.
     Shadow classes
      New shadow classes include Public speaking and problem solving
    Staff
      Kitchen staff is still needed. (This is a really fun job) Kitchen staff will act as tutors/mentors when needed and be under the command of Capt Ski.
      Staff prep meeting will be held at the May Gp 3 North meeting. This is meeting is important - details will be wrapped up, questions answered etc...

A few cadet program reminders for group 3:

1. The annual wing CAC meeting will be taking place on
January 11, 12, 13. The activity begins at 0900 on
Saturday January 12th. It will end early afternoon on
Sunday Jan 13.

2. There will be elections held for both group 3
positions and wing positions on CAC. There will be a
separate group 3 CAC meeting sometime during the
weekend.

3. On Saturday beginning at 1000 hours senior members
may attend a workshop on aquiring DDR (Drug Demand
Reduction) funding for your squadron. Representatives
from National Headquarters will be instructing.

4. SQUADRON COMMANDERS-----Please send at least 2
representatives from your squadron to this weekend.
CAC positions are held for a term of one year. Please
offer this opportunity to all interested cadets.
Cadet commanders are also encouraged to attend.

5. Both new and old CAC representatives may attend the
weekend.

6. Bring with you: notebook, paper, pen, sleeping bag,
personal items, casual/dressy civilian clothing for
evening dance, blues for selection board interview,
small amount of spending money.

BDU's will be worn during the weekend.

BCOP Debriefing

Awesome weekend guys - I'm proud of everyone :) I've heard nothing but good things from both the seniors and the cadets who attended. Two observations and areas for improvement: We REALLY needed a staff meeting Saturday night. Cadets had a lot of down time Sunday afternoon during testing - this could be fixed with another optional/fun activity. All staff that has extra study guides or outlines hold on to those and bring them to the January CAC meeting - or give them to your CAC reps to bring. All comments, Ideas, suggestions, messages etc. can be posted in the forum. The more feed back about this weekend the better the next one will be. See you in January - C/1st Lt Littleton

Staff Shadow Program:

Things just keep getting more interesting……
The newest edition to the ever expanding BCOP training weekend is the “Staff Shadow Program.” Four high speed cadets will be given the opportunity to shadow the more experienced flight staff for the purpose of increasing their leadership skills and prepping themselves for an awesome CAP career.

Before BCOP, Shadow staff will be required to 1) write up 3 mini classes (subject of their choice) on 3X5 cards and 2) choose a historical leader or someone they know who possesses a leadership trait they would like to emulate. (Be prepared to explain choice.) On Friday evening these class outlines will be discussed and modified if needed.

Once at the weekend they will follow a modified class schedule (below), perform the duties that their commanders assign and act as mentors to the cadet basics.

Shadows will also be expected to attend the CAC meetings prior to weekend and take place in planning.
