Oh LORD, Thou art the only true God. Thou art the living God, the God of mercy whose everlasting love was, and is, manifested in Him Who died for all men. We come to you this day in humility and brokenness for our nation, our own sin, the sin of the people, the sin of our leaders and the souls of our enemies around the world who know not the love, forgiveness, and power of God to transform our lives and the life of their nation. Without your intervention, without a turning back to You, we perish. We have sinned, all of us, everyone, believer and unbeliever, having loved the world and its pleasures more than You, more than our neighbors, more than even those who bore us, and the fruit of the womb. On Sunday, November 2nd, 2008, just two days before the election of Barack Obama as President of the United States, I wrote,

"Tuesday, November 4th, will be a day of deliverance, either into captivity and lamentation, or into the recognition that our ordered liberties come from God; into the twilight before nightfall, or into the glorious light of day after the threat has passed; into an awakening and revival, or the awareness of great loss and evil to come."

Can God's people be counted on to stand up for truth?

A few nights ago Miss California chose to honor God, and take a stand for traditional marriage before a TV audience of millions. The truth - and her relationship with Christ - was more important to her than a temporal, earthly crown. It may have cost her a beauty contest, but in the minds and hearts of millions of Americans, she is 'Miss USA', no matter how the judges ruled.

A few days before, another woman - not as young or attractive - ignored the snickers, sneers and jeers of Britain's pop culture, and courageously demonstrated it was worth pursuing her dream no matter what anyone else thought of her!

If America is to recover from the elevation of Godless secularism over the last 70 years, and the debilitating agenda of the current administration and out of control congress, Christians must do as Carrie Prejean and Susan Boyle did. If we do not, we will find ourselves consigned to an economic, moral, spiritual and political wilderness that one would never wish upon anyone, let alone their children.

That is the challenge to America's Christians. Will we stand, or will we fold? Will we open our mouths, and speak truth, or will we continue to be intimidated by misguided policy makers, the self aggrandizing, the deceived, the intolerant, and the morally challenged? None of these are insurmountable giants to be left to guide public policy for their own pleasures and agendas, especially when America's Christians stand shoulder to shoulder in the voting booth and town councils!

The eyes of faith. . . or the lens of fear

Bob Gass, in the April 21st "The Word for You Today" writes, "When you get right down to it, there's very little difference in people, but the little difference amounts to a big difference, and the little difference is attitude; it determines whether you see life through the eyes of faith or the lens of fear." When those around Joshua and Caleb "saw only giants and wanted to turn back", Caleb said,

"If the LORD delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us.""

When God's people seek His Face, turn from their wicked ways, and live courageously, confidently, and boldly to honor and glorify Him, He honors and blesses them. . . and heals their land! Cf. II Chronicles 7:14

Does our God 'Delight in us'?

When we

Shrink back from honoring Him openly, publicly, and courageously?
VOTE for candidates for public office who openly defy God's laws?
Ignore our citizenship reponsibility to VOTE?
Look the other way when we see evil being condoned?
Choose to wait for the rapture instead of occupying until He comes?
Refuse to speak truth in public meetings, forums, and legislatures?
Remain silent when we should speak up and take action?
Refuse to support and work for candidates who hold our values?
Remove pastors from their pulpits who wish to speak openly and clearly into the culture?

Does He "Delight in us" when we do these things?

Miss California loses for supporting marriage between a man and woman

Christian Science Monitor:

Miss America contest judge Perez Hilton asked Carrie Prejean, Miss California, her views on gay marriage. She answered:

"Well I think its great that Americans are able to choose one or the other," she said. "We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. And you know what, in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there but that's how I was raised and that's how I think it should be between a man and a woman. Thank you very much."

She lost it because of that question," Hilton said Monday. "She was definitely the front-runner before that."
Hilton, who is gay, said he gave Prejean a zero for her answer, and that may have made the difference in the outcome.
Prejean, who attends San Diego Christian College, said she saw the question as a test of her faith...It's her religious beliefs which prompted her to say 'I don't believe in same-sex marriages.'

"Good for Miss California," said Johnny Franks in The Chattanoogan. She was asked a loaded question by an openly gay judge, and held to her morals when it would have been so easy to "sacrifice them for the crown."

Today - the day after the more than 2000 'Tea Parties' across America - is more important than the Tea Parties themselves.

Our Congressman, Senators, and their aides will pay more attention to the number of phone calls and faxes they receive today from taxpayers opposed to the Obama Administration budget and spending plans than all the Tea Parties and coverage by Fox News combined. If they receive an inordinate number of calls from disgruntled taxpayers, they will consider this a movement they cannot ignore. If they do not receive a significant ground swell of calls, they will consider it an event that will soon be forgotten, and will ignore it altogether as a meaningless effort by right wing conservatives.

Don't miss this important opportunity!

Go to the Restore America Homepage and look up the phone numbers for your Congressman and Senators and place three calls. Politely tell whoever answers their phone why you are calling and state that you do not want your congressman or Senator to support or vote for the Administration's proposed budget, nor any amended budget that does not cut taxes, entitlements, and spending.

In just the past six weeks, a phenomenon has occurred across America. By now you have heard of the Boston Tea Party style of tax protest called Taxed Enough Already (TEA). It is truly a decentralized grassroots movement that has been joined by a wide spectrum of fiscal and social conservative organizations. Such varied groups as American Family Association, FreedomWorks, Resistnet, Americans for Prosperity, the Republican Party and other conservative parties, as well as Concerned Oregonians, have joined with the "engaged and enraged" across America. As you read this newsletter, please identify a party near you where you can join in to make your voice heard!

To add to the occasion, I have written and recorded a humorous tax protest song called "Taxed Enough Already", which you can listen to and read on the ConcernedOregonians.com website. The lyrics are also included below.

I hope and pray all finds you well. In this issue are my reflections on our work, prayer request, information on donations and request for your assistance at upcoming events [Father Pavone is coming!] Please keep up your diligence in praying, writing and coming to events. As the above scripture tells us, this is difficult but our rewards will be enormous.

Reflections on the Last Two Years

Our effort is now over two years old. The movement started on February 27, 2007 at the King Center after a faithful young lady notified her pastor that Portland Development Commission was working with Planned Parenthood to build a very large facility to kill babies. The meeting at King Center was conducted by Willie Brown a community leader with Pastor Hardy of Highland Christian, Assistant Pastor Chuck Lindholm of New Song, Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers of Immaculate Heart and a handful of other faithful citizens including myself.

I want to share with all of you what a blessing this has been. Yes there have been challenges and attacks but the blessings outweigh all of the tribulations put forth by the Evil One. One of the greatest blessings is getting to work with so many people who I did not even know. Thanks to all of you who have worked so hard with prayers, letters, marches, pickets, prayer vigils and words of comfort. I want to encourage any of you who are debating getting more involved to step in and meet some of the most wonderful faith filled people you have ever met. You will also know that deep in your hearts that you are really doing the Lord's work by saving the precious innocents in the womb and the innocence of our youth.

My thanks is not limited to those in the area but to all of the national leaders who have helped us like Jim Sedlack of American Life League, Dr. Alveda King the niece of the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Rev. Clenard H Childress of L.E.A.R.N, Priest for Life and many other pastors from around the country who have helped us. I am also very grateful for those at Oregon Right to Life and Life Support of Oregon.

Special thanks to the religious media including Ed Langlois of the Catholic Sentinel and John Fortmeyer of Christian News Northwest. Ed and John have written many great articles and their papers have produced some sharp ads.

Our movement would not still be going strong if it were not for the churches and the clergy in the area. I am very thankful for Archbishop Vlazny's column on Planned Parenthood and the preaching and support from many churches and religious organizations including: Holy Rosary, Northeast Community Fellowship, Immaculate Heart, Upper Room Church, Holy Redeemer, St. Stanislaus, Our Lady of Va Nang, Life Change, Maranatha, St. Charles, The Madeline, Cathedral, Our Lady of Peace, Ukrainian Bible Church, St. Cecilia's Life Group, various Knights of Columbus councils and many others. Hopefully more of the faithful will get involved.

Standing In The Gap?

The events of the last several months reveal the reality behind contemporary American culture. Stephen Williams of Prepare The Way says,

"These are sobering times. The rate at which our country is moving away from a Biblical worldview is increasing dramatically. In all cases, we find ourselves on a culture train going the wrong direction, fast."

Gary Bergel, in his March Prayer Commentary said, "I believe it can be summed up in one word, "corruption," and points us to Ezekiel 22.

Ezekiel 22 - The Parallel of our day

Six times in the first 13 verses of this passage on God's judgement of Israel, the shedding of blood is given as the primary reason Jerusalem and the nation of Israel were under judgement.

"Now thou son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the bloody city?" vs. 2
"The city sheddeth blood in the midst of it, that her time may come, and maketh idols against herself to defile herself." vs. 3
"Thou art become guilty in thy blood that thou hast shed; and hast defiled thyself in thine idols which thou hast made; and thou hast caused thy days to draw near, and art come even unto thy years: therefore have I made thee a reproach unto the nations, and a mocking to all countries." vs.4
"Behold the princes (rulers/leaders) of Israel, every one were in thee to their power to shed blood." vs. 6
"In thee are men that carry tales to shed blood: and in thee they eat upon the mountains: in the midst of thee they commit lewdness." vs. 9
"In thee have they taken gifts (bribes) to shed blood;" vs. 12
"Behold, therefore I have smitten mine hand at thy dishonest gain which thou hast made, and at thy blood which hath been in the midst of thee." vs. 13

Immediately, and in summation of the people's bloodguiltiness, defilement, and corruption, the God of Israel said. . .

"Can thine heart endure, or can thine hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with thee? I the LORD have spoken it, and will do it." vs. 14

Will we endure in the days that God deals with us?

The time for America's judgement has been determined by the people of America, as it was in Israel. We-the-people are responsible for our decisions to participate in sin, as well as choosing Godless and dishonest leaders, both spiritual and governmental.

God said the people of Israel had 'caused thy days (of judgement) to draw near,' and 'art come even unto thy years' (the fulfillment of the time of their judgement), for her wanton disregard for life.

Because of our slaughter of 50 million innocents since 1973, and daily murders of every kind; choosing leaders who tolerated - even encouraged - the slaughter, moral depravity, and the worship of pleasure and money, God has made us, as He did with Israel, a 'reproach unto the nations, and a mocking to all countries.' We have become 'dross' to the God of heaven and earth, to be melted in the furnace for His purposes.

"The house of Israel is to me dross...As they gather silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it, so will I gather you in mine anger and in my fury, and I will leave you there, and melt you." vs.18, 20

We have no one to blame but ourselves for our 'corruption' and for what is coming upon America. He has withdrawn His hand of protection on America and all who do evil, from the lowest amongst us to the highest officials in government who refuse to humble themselves and honor God in their decisions. vs. 13

"And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord God."

Ezekiel 22:30-31

Our Father, our hope is in You, and in no other, neither in ourselves. We have forgotten You in the good times and looked the other way as Your eternal truth has been ignored for the convenience of men. We beg Your mercy as You heat the furnace of your fury to melt us, remove the dross, and draw us to you in humility and brokenness. Forgive us LORD for taking Your grace so lightly. for believing that we could slaughter the innocent, engage our lusts, and elect those who would look the other way. Lead us back to you in repentance, and obedience. Reveal to us now oh LORD, how we can 'stand in the gap' in the days and months ahead with courage and conviction. Lead us in our heavenly and earthly citizenship to Your glory. May You once again be exalted, and may many come to You that they might be saved. In your Name we pray. Amen.

* There are those who say the Old Testament is not for our day, that the New Testament supercedes it. I Corinthians 10:6, written of the Jews in O.T. times, says, "Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted." God does not change. He is the same yesterday and today, and will deal with sin in His time.

Reviving Oregon's Amazing Roots (R.O.A.R.)

The founding principles of our state and nation expressed through the celebration of Oregon's Sesquicentennial (150th anniversary of statehood).

The R.O.A.R. Line-in-the-Sand tour is a series of 42 patriotic celebrations designed to revive Oregonians' commitment to their sacred heritage and the constitutional principles of Oregon and our nation.

The message of this tour is:

1. Americans have an honorable history of standing for the sacred principles of freedom, despite enormous obstacles.
2. Devotion to God, family and country are essential to the survival and prosperity of our society.
3. Patriotic Oregonians need to unite in support of the principles and values expressed in our founding documents, including the Constitutions of the United States and Oregon, and the Declaration of Independence.

The time-tested values of American patriots include:

· Reverence for the God of the Bible and the Ten Commandments.
· Respect for the original intent of Constitution, and the Declaration of Independence.
· Devotion and Loyalty to God, family, community, and country.
· Servant hood, duty, self-sacrifice, obedience, charity.
· Humility and modesty, honesty, courage.
· Wisdom and sound judgment.

Our founding fathers recognized that morality was the foundational support for our constitutional republic. They agreed that government, "...of, by, and for the people..." required that citizens practice biblical virtues such as self-control and personal responsibility, critical preconditions to self-government. Their views of morality and the nature of man were drawn directly from the pages of Scripture, so that our form of government was designed with necessary checks and balances of power. The challenges to life and liberty that we face today as a nation, are the direct consequence of the breakdown of private and civic virtues; our shared commitment to live moral lives.

By emphasizing the virtues and principles of patriotism, as expressed by our forefathers, we have an opportunity to speak to a majority of citizens in a familiar language that is empowering; one that has a deep spiritual significance to them. Concerned Oregonians is committed to joining with many conservative organizations to reawaken the principles of patriotism and reclaim our constitutional heritage as a government of the people. The sesquicentennial tour is just the first step in a statewide revival of liberty.

Sesquicentennial Invitation Friday, February 6, 2009

As you may know, February 14, 2009 is Oregon's Sesquicentennial. It's kind of a difficult word to pronounce, but we've been hearing it a lot around the Capitol. Just like the 1976 Bicentennial was our country's 200th Birthday, the Sesquicentennial is Oregon's 150th Birthday.

A big celebration is planned at the Capitol (after all, the Sesquicentennial only happens once). The Capitol will be open to the public; there will be a free lunch and activities for families and kids of all ages. There will even be commemorative sessions of the Senate and House of Representatives.

This is my personal invitation to you to join me here in the Capitol for this exciting event. I know it's a bit of a drive; but this will be a fun celebration. I'll be opening my offices in the newly-remodeled House office wing so that you can see our new working environment. I'm looking forward to the opportunity to visit with you in person without the press of legislative business intruding.

Oregon's Sacred Heritage

2009 is the 150th anniversary of Oregon statehood. All true American patriots have much to celebrate, as the expansion of the United States to the Pacific coast brought with it the blessings of God. The Constitution of Oregon included and expanded upon the rights and freedoms described in our Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution. These biblical notions of the rights of man and his relationship with his government and his fellow man, acknowledge that all of creation is subordinate to a sovereign creator God, who is the author of our inalienable rights.

This was demonstrated in the first Independence Day celebration held in North America, west of the Rocky Mountains. It was inaugurated by an American naval Captain named Wilkes and the missionaries sent by Jason Lee from Salem mission. Oregon Territory was then under the 1812 joint occupancy agreement of USA and Great Britain. The celebration was held July 5th, 1841 at Nisqually (near Tacoma). They revered the Lord's Day as more important than the 4th, therefore moved the celebration to the 5th. Captain Wilkes described it as follows:

"There were present on this notable occasion over five hundred people, viz.: About sixty persons embracing naval officers, missionaries, and men from the Hudson Bay Co. trading post; one hundred marines, and about four hundred Indians.

Captain Wilkes was the officer of the day. Prayer was offered by Dr. Richmond. The Declaration of Independence was read by the sergeant of marines. The Scriptures were read by Captain Wilkes. Two songs were sung, viz., "The Star-Spangled Banner"
and "My Country, 'Tis of Thee",..."

The following oration was delivered by pastor and former Illinois legislator, Dr. Richmond:
"...We entertain the belief that the whole of this magnificent region of county so rich in the bounties of nature is destined to become a part of the American Republic...

The time will come when these hills and valleys will be peopled by our enterprising countrymen, and when they will contain cities and farms and manufacturing establishments, and when the benefits of home and civil life will be enjoyed by the people... They will assemble on the 4th of July as we have done to-day and renew their fidelity to the PRINCIPLES OF LIBERTY EMBODIED IN THE "DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE", that we have heard read to-day... The future years will witness wonderful things in the settlement, the growth, and development of the United States, and especially of this coast...

In this new world there is sure to arise one of the greatest nations of the earth...

The illustrious founders of the American Republic declared against the union of the Church (any specific denomination) and State; in this they did well, yet it is undeniably true that the world's civilization of to-day is inseparably connected with the religion of Christ, and it could not survive if the Christlife and Spirit were eliminated from it...

Our mission to these children of the forest (Indians) is to so teach them the truth of the gospel that they shall be fitted for the responsibilities of intelligent Christian citizenship... We are here also to assist in laying the foundation stones of a great American commonwealth on these Pacific shores."

In his 1907 book, "The Conquerors" Rev. A. Atwood goes on to point out that this frontier christening was significant because it recognized that our country came into existence because it put God first. It further acknowledged that the Oregon Territory was first established for the Gospel, and that as long as it continued to do so this land would be "fitted for the responsibilities of intelligent Christian citizenship".

With this statement, Mr. Atwood reiterates the overwhelming theme of God centered government found in quotes from the great majority of the 250 founding fathers of our nation. The more we study the history of our state and nation, the more we discover the providential emergence of a nation based on biblical ideas of equality, freedom, and divinely appointed rights of man. Thomas Jefferson asked, "CAN THE LIBERTIES OF A NATION BE SECURE WHEN WE HAVE REMOVED THE CONVICTION THAT THESE LIBERTIES ARE A GIFT FROM GOD?"

No government is perfect, due to man's sin nature. A government founded upon the acknowledgment of that fallen nature recognizes the need for the rule of law and the balance of power between different branches of government, to protect man's inalienable rights. The United States was the first national government to acknowledge these realities and implement constitutional protections based on government of the people, by the people, and for the people.

Our founding fathers often said, our constitutional protections are only as solid as our individual and collective commitment to Christian moral principles and civic virtue. "The virtue which is necessary to preserve a just administration and render a government stable, is Christian virtue, which consists in the uniform practice of moral and religious duties, in conformity with the laws of both God and man. This virtue must be based on a reverence for the authority of God, which shall counteract and control ambition and selfish views, and subject them to the precepts of divine authority. The effect of such a virtue would be, to bring the citizens of a state to vote and act for the good of the state, whether that should coincide with their private interests or not." Noah Webster

Without these restraints on our self-serving impulses, our Constitution is subtly perverted into a "living document" open to contemporary reinterpretation by 'progressives", resulting in the inevitable loss of our rights and liberties, as we are now experiencing. This is the process through which God is replaced by government and tyrants ascend to power. William Penn declared, "YOU MAY BE GOVERNED BY GOD OR RULED BY TYRANTS. "... choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve..." Joshua 24:15

New Portland mayor Sam Adams admits past homosexual

August 8, 2008, Mayor Adams (then commissioner Adams) was asked about that site and he stated that he supported all aspects of Planned Parenthood including the use of youth in sexual situations and their abortions. John Doussard, Director of Communications for the mayor, also gave his approval for all of Planned Parenthood activities.

PRECIOUS CHILDREN OF PORTLAND, a local group of parents, teachers, pastors and school bus drivers, have been pointing out Planned Parenthood’s activities to churches and businesses. Bill Diss, Director of PRECIOUS CHILDREN OF PORTLAND, acknowledges, “Most people do not know that Planned Parenthood has made over $1 billion, has so much graphical-sexual information for youth, and has such a surplus of cash.” He adds that others, “do know, and also do not seem to be bothered by, Planned Parenthood’s long and deep ties to race control. Even now, a Black Baby is almost 500% more likely to killed in the womb than a White Baby, and a Hispanic Baby is almost 300% more likely to be killed in the womb than a White Baby!” Diss and others also concerned ask: “Since abortion is the leading cause of death in Oregon, why does Portland Development Commission and Planned Parenthood have the need to increase access to it?”

Obama to Allow Federal Funding for Overseas Abortions

University Reverses Policy and Allows Religious Clubs to Base Decisions on Religion

Gator Christian Life (GCL) a religious student organization at the University of Florida, lost its status as a registered student organization last fall when it refused to include the University's anti-discrimination policy in its constitution. The University policy prohibited religious groups from discrimination on the basis of religion. The University has now reversed its position, posted an announcement of the policy change on its web site, and sent a letter to GCL confirming the new policy and inviting it to register as a student organization again.

PORTLAND COMMUNITY TO MARCH FOR LIFE

Portland, OR -- PRECIOUS CHILDREN OF PORTLAND will join in a march tomorrow to denounce plans for an increase in abortions in NE Portland.

Pastor Isham Harris of Upper Room Church in northeast Portland is organizing a March For Life on Saturday, January 24, 2009. The march will start at 12:00 pm at Alberta Park on northeast Killingsworth St. & 20^th Ave., and end at Life Change Church on N. Williams and Beech St. Participants will pause at Beech Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. for a short prayer at the proposed site where Planned Parenthood plans to build a 45,000 square foot facility that will contain, “a state-of-the art Surgicenter designed to increase access to abortion.” [Quote from Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette Annual Report 2005-2006].

Pastor Harris has grave concerns of Planned Parenthood’s plans to increase access to abortion in northeast Portland, “The children being killed in the womb are innocent.” He shares one of his favorite passages that shows this innocence, “For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;” (KJV Romans 9:11). Pastor Harris emphasizes that killing our future children is very sinful and can be dangerous to the survival of our city and nation; “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.” (KJV Proverbs 14:34)

Pastor Harris is not the only pastor in northeast Portland who has concerns for the precious children in the womb. Pastor W.G. Hardy of Highland Christian was present at the recent ground breaking of Planned Parenthood’s center to give solace to grieving neighbors. Pastor Hardy testified at both Portland Development Commission (PDC) hearings in 2007, and pointed out that many of the aborted children would be Black, Hispanic and poor. Pastor Hardy and others tried to change the hearts of the PDC members who appeared to be more concerned with the financial power of Planned Parenthood than the pregnant mothers and their children. Four of the five commissioners did decide that the financial gain outweighed the human loss, and voted that the urban renewal land could be used by Planned Parenthood to increase access to abortion and for their other services. The commissioners also did not seem to be concerned about how the small-white population of Portland could be even more threatened by the increase of abortion in an area of Portland that has many Blacks and Hispanics.

The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported in June 23, 2008 that the Planned Parenthood headquarters in Portland, “would include space for candidate forums and phone banks.” The financial strength of Planned Parenthood was also highlighted, “Flush with cash, Planned Parenthood affiliates nationwide are aggressively expanding their reach, … the nation's largest abortion provider, reported a record $1 billion in annual revenue in its most recent financial report … The nonprofit ended the year with a surplus of $115 million, or about 11% of its revenue, and net assets of $952 million.” The article acknowledged, “Even as the total number of abortions in the U.S. has dropped, the number performed by Planned Parenthood has grown steadily, to nearly 290,000 a year.” The WSJ article added that even with this increase that Planned Parenthood’s president, Cecile Richards, “has encouraged more Planned Parenthood clinics to offer abortions.” Planned Parenthood now has 16 centers in Oregon and 47 in Washington.

Other pastors and groups are also concerned with the services offered to minors. Muslim Imam Muhammad Najieb leads a group of faithful Muslims who happen to be located right next door to the proposed Surgicenter for abortion. Imam Muhammad Najieb stated at a rally at Irvington Covenant Church on May 20, 2007, “Anytime that they are allowed to handout such explicit materials displaying certain sexual activities and things, we all should be against that. This is something that affects all of us. “ More recently, Planned Parenthood of Columbia Willamette released a website targeted at children called, TakeCareDownThere.org. The website shows teenage children in various sexual situations including a young male performing oral sex on another male and a young girl discussing going all the way by masturbation.

Many are offended by the nature of this website and other educational services used by Planned Parenthood. When some of this information was presented at the April hearing in 2007, there was a dead silence in the chambers. But, Commissioner Charles Wilhoite of Willamette Management joked about it, and later stated that he thought this education is good. Commissioners of PDC are not the only ones who seem to enjoy viewing of teenagers in sexual situations. On August 8, 2008, Mayor Adams (then commissioner Adams) was asked about that site and he stated that he supported all aspects of Planned Parenthood including the use of youth in sexual situations and their abortions. John Doussard, Director of Communications for the mayor, also gave his approval for all of Planned Parenthood activities.

PRECIOUS CHILDREN OF PORTLAND asks the faithful to pray that the builders and promoters of this abortion center place life over profit, and refuse to be involved in this deadly project.

Advent Film Group, under the Direction of George D. Escobar (left) and crew have given the film making industry and the Planned Parenthood organization a hard pill to swallow.
Come What May is a great and inspiring movie that will have you laughing on minute and crying the next.

Local Planned Parenthood Events to Promote the Culture of Death
Faye Wattleton a past president of Planned Parenthood of America and the receipient of Humanist of the Year 1986 will be in town later this month. Many of the leaders of Planned Parenthood have gotten awards from the Secular Humanist. If you want to know how an organization can kill millions of harmless and innocent babies check out their "Scripture" Humanist Manisfesto. Planned Parenthood also continued its inroads into churches this month as it presented information at Ainsworth United Church of Christ (2941 NE Ainsworth St., Portland 97211).

Special Needs, Good and Bad News
Please contact your churches this week to see if they will lend some drivers and vans for the march on Saturday. It would be great to take people back. One can also take Tri-Met (Bus 33 to Bus 8) and end up very near 20th and Killingsworth. We would also like to have some wheelchairs as many elderly have asked for this.

The permits and insurance for this march are extremely expensive. Please, please donate money to help with this and for brochures that we have bought for the many events this month.

Bad News: "Real" construction is now taking place on MLK Jr. Blvd. Piles of dirt can be seen.
Good News: 99% of those at the rally on Jan. 18th will now get involved by coming to the march writing companies, help with phone calls, etc. We will update the website this week to show all of the companies that are currently involved. One company wrote back in late December and told us that they would not be working on the center. Praise the Lord!

Bad News: Planned Parenthood filed a complaint against me the Oregon teacher licensing bureau.
Good News: We must be having some effect as they keep trying to stop my "day" job. Please pray for me.

Thanks to those who came to Tribute Day to Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Many attended the event today at Highland Christian. Here are a couple of quotes from Rev. King and some call to action quotes from the brochure we used today.

Rev. King wrote in his letter from Birmingham Jain in April 16, 1963.

One may well ask: "How can you advocate breaking some laws and obeying others?" The answer lies in the fact that there are two types of laws: just and unjust. I would be the first to advocate obeying just laws. One has not only a legal but a moral responsibility to obey just laws. Conversely, one has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws. I would agree with St. Augustine that "an unjust law is no law at all."

Now, what is the difference between the two? How does one determine whether a law is just or unjust? A just law is a man made code that squares with the moral law or the law of God. An unjust law is a code that is out of harmony with the moral law. To put it in the terms of St. Thomas Aquinas: An unjust law is a human law that is not rooted in eternal law and natural law. Any law that uplifts human personality is just. Any law that degrades human personality is unjust.

Brothers and Sisters, laws that allow a multi-billion dollar industry to kill millions of innocent babies in the womb are unjust. Laws are unjust that allow Planned Parenthood to drug little girls and to cover rapists. Planned Parenthood sees nothing wrong with fornication and has websites for children and invites them to their events. This is not right!

History was made at Pioneer Courthouse Square this Sunday, when over seven-thousand cold, but warm hearted pro-lifers gathered for Oregon Right to Life's Annual Roe VS Wade Memorial Rally. There might not be any media coverage, so enjoy these pictures sent to me by Cheri Crocker of Salem.

Gayle Atteberry, executive director of Oregon Right to Life, spoke to Christan News Northwest before the event: "We see God's sovereignty in this.....Our board made the decision that we wanted to make it bigger and take it to the heart of downtown Portland. They need the message of life more than any other city in the state of Oregon. We made this decision early in the year, but in retrospect, with the results from the election, I'm happier than ever that we made it."

Coming into Portland did bring a little confrontation, but this too was expected and showed stark contrast to what the saving the pre-born children is all about. Maybe hearing the speakers made a small conversion in their conscience. One sign said "God is invisible"...held by a young woman...let's pray that she "saw" him in those at the rally.

All human life is a gift from our Creator that is sacred, unique, and worthy of protection. On National Sanctity of Human Life Day, our country recognizes that each person, including every person waiting to be born, has a special place and purpose in this world. We also underscore our dedication to heeding this message of conscience by speaking up for the weak and voiceless among us.

The most basic duty of government is to protect the life of the innocent. My Administration has been committed to building a culture of life by vigorously promoting adoption and parental notification laws, opposing Federal funding for abortions overseas, encouraging teen abstinence, and funding crisis pregnancy programs. In 2002, I was honored to sign into law the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act, which extends legal protection to children who survive an abortion attempt. I signed legislation in 2003 to ban the cruel practice of partial-birth abortion, and that law represents our commitment to building a culture of life in America. Also, I was proud to sign the Unborn Victims of Violence Act of 2004, which allows authorities to charge a person who causes death or injury to a child in the womb with a separate offense in addition to any charges relating to the mother.

America is a caring Nation, and our values should guide us as we harness the gifts of science. In our zeal for new treatments and cures, we must never abandon our fundamental morals. We can achieve the great breakthroughs we all seek with reverence for the gift of life.

The sanctity of life is written in the hearts of all men and women. On this day and throughout the year, we aspire to build a society in which every child is welcome in life and protected in law. We also encourage more of our fellow Americans to join our just and noble cause. History tells us that with a cause rooted in our deepest principles and appealing to the best instincts of our citizens, we will prevail.

The office, which President Bush created at the beginning of his administration, has been sullied by criticisms from a former agency head and a former staffer, who charged that the White House had used the office for political reasons.

Folks there is a real danger that the Freedom of Choice Act, or as it should be known, "Freedom to Kill Act," could become law. Please read the following and pray and fast. If this law is passed it will remove any and all restrictions on abortions and will force hospitals of all faiths to do abortions.

Local Planned Parenthood Events to Promote the Culture of Death
Faye Wattleton a past president of Planned Parenthood of America and the receipient of Humanist of the Year 1986 will be in town later this month. Many of the leaders of Planned Parenthood have gotten awards from the Secular Humanist. Planned Parenthood also continued its inroads into churches this month as it presented information at Ainsworth United Church of Christ (2941 NE Ainsworth St., Portland 97211).

Church Members Threatened with Citation for Sharing Gospel in Park

Today, Liberty Counsel is filing a federal lawsuit against the North Carolina Division of Parks and Recreation, alleging that the state policy used by park officials to threaten citation of members of Grace Baptist Church in Wilson violates their right to freedom of speech.

While church members enjoyed a picnic in a state park, they shared about Jesus with other visitors. A park ranger warned the pastor that the members would be cited for a park rule violation if they did not stop.

Liberty Counsel sent a demand letter on behalf of the pastor and church members to the Parks and Recreation Director informing him of the unconstitutional treatment, but the director defended the permit requirement.
