Not only was this time-consuming, but it was unsatisfactory in terms of data reliability and security.

Webanywhere agreed to provide the schools with a web-based Management Information system designed in-house called ‘SchoolMi’®.

Using SchoolMi a teacher could now take a class register online, using a laptop in the classroom. The attendance data would then be immediately available to the attendance and other administration staff in the offices of the ‘home schools’ of all the students in the class.
In addition, any comment the teacher wishes to make about a student’s performance, whether praise or concern, can be appended to the student’s individual record, and is immediately available to administration staff and, indeed, to the teacher of the student’s next class.

The benefits of this solution quickly became apparent. Administration staff were able to make good use of the time they saved, support staff no longer needed to ferry paper registers back and forth, and the improved accuracy and availability of registration data made monitoring attendance easier and more accurate.

Learn more at:

www.schoolmi.com

WebAnywherehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06791253583919143032noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3151989400985246524.post-75605776637418978382007-11-12T08:56:00.001Z2007-11-12T09:11:07.977ZWebsites of the Week NovemberCommon Road Infant and Nursery School -
www.commonroad.org.uk

Wylde Green Primary School - Every year for the last 23 years the Danny Ryan committee has organised a charity dance to raise funds for award winners. Alongside other fundraising efforts the committee decided to place a PayPal online donation button and a "Buy now" button onto their school website. The result was fantastic. Many people who could not attend the dinner dance made generous donations online whilst other people simply used PayPal to buy tickets!

Step 1.

The PayPal donate button can be seen below - parents and supporters of Danny Ryan click the button to make contributions safely and securely (PayPal is used by millions of eBay users every day).

Step 2.

Once the PayPal donation button is clicked the users are taken off to a secure connection on the PayPal site where they can use their debit/credit card or PayPal account to make payments.

Step 3.

Once the transaction is completed the end user is returned back to the school website to continue browsing.

<img src="http://www.payschool.co.uk/casestudies/images/danny_thankyou.GIF" height="377"
