While these criminals are almost more than Spidey can handle, his real struggle becomes an internal one. The stress is enough to drive a high school Super Hero over the edge, but making mistakes and learning lessons is all in a days work for the Spectacular Spider-Man!

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced the July 28th release of The Spectacular Spider-Man - The Complete 1st Season, coming on 2 DVDs for $25.95 SRP. This collects all of the content previously released on single-disc titles, and adds two "all-new behind the scenes Spidey features". Running time is 299 minutes, with anamorphic widescreen video, English 5.1 audio (and a French 2.0 option), English subtitles and closed captioning for the hearing impaired. The new featurettes are titled "Spider-man: Re-Animated" and "Stylizing Spidey". Scooper 'Wolf' tried to follow up with him on Saturday and here's the result:

I was over at the weekly comic book show Frank & Son over in Industry, CA, and while I was walking around with my uncle we suddenly ran into Michael Papajohn. I wouldn't have noticed him except for the pictures he had all over his signing desk. He's a real funny guy - trying to sell us autographs and telling us about how the Lakers beat him out of the main table. Anyways, I asked him about Spider Man 4 because of the rumor I read that he was going to be in it. He said "I can't talk about it, but who says I died in the first one?" My uncle asked him again and he quipped "if I tell you I'll have to shoot you." Jokingly, of course. That's all I got.

Source: SuperHero Hype!

GreenieGobbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10427768442887648923dylan_bargas@yahoo.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31473526.post-19684237843151201602009-06-20T21:48:00.000-07:002009-06-20T21:53:27.862-07:00Michael Papajohn Returning for Spider-Man 4?<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 116px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_A7x5uJ8RW28/Sj28gZkEk5I/AAAAAAAAAFs/NdUmy1PLt8M/s320/papajohn.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5349639197190034322" />
Scooper 'Cassassin' sent us the following note today about Spider-Man actor Michael Papajohn:

During a Q&A with Ted Raimi and Michael Papajohn at Wizard World Philadelphia today, Papajohn (aka the carjacker/original killer of Uncle Ben from the Spider-Man films) said that he would be reprising his role for Spider-Man 4. Well that's because I don't have time to, but eventually I will. But I want to announce that I will also review most of my Spidey comics from my collection on here. And I got a LOT of them too, so each of them will take awhile. I also got some new issues too that I probably will review first. So stay tune, I will post the reviews up soon. Thank God summer is here. =D

Also in that pic of Spidey comics is my collection. That's not all of them, but most of the ones I keep in a plastic container. Try to see what issues I got! It's obviously still very early in development, but that didn't stop the New York Post from asking Sony producer Todd Black a few questions in order to clear up some of the rumors that have been circulating.

In the article, Black confirms that Kirsten Dunst is definitely on board, but that there are no plans to have a wedding between Peter Parker and Mary Jane in the forthcoming movie. He also squashed the rumors that Morbius the Living Vampire will be the villain in the movie, but that the villain will be very New York centric.

This is what he told the Post about the potential villain: "We're just coming up with who the villain's going to be now. We'll be shooting in New York again. Trust me, people will appreciate who we pick, because it'll be a big part of New York."

So who do you think the villain may be? In the article, they speculate it could be either Kraven the Hunter or the Kingpin, although one should probably assume the latter is still owned by Fox as part of the "Daredevil" deal. Still, maybe it will be some sort of New York City mob/crime storyline in the next movie, and there are plenty of Spider-Man villains that fit the bill like Hammerhead and The Enforcers. It is indeed fake and no official artwork has been released yet for the movie.

(Click on the image on the right to enlarge it.)

So stay tuned, hopefully we will get some kind of artwork soon for the May 6, 2011 release.

Source: Superhero Hype!

GreenieGobbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10427768442887648923dylan_bargas@yahoo.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31473526.post-38696458457187026312009-05-21T20:36:00.000-07:002009-05-21T20:45:17.211-07:00Spider-Man 3 Actress Found Dead<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 137px; height: 200px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_A7x5uJ8RW28/ShYe4b71xTI/AAAAAAAAAE0/czw4AjPtvW4/s200/lucy+gordon.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338488363214554418" />
Reuters reports that British actress Lucy Gordon, who played reporter Jennifer Dugan in Spider-Man 3, has been found dead after apparently committing suicide.

She was found in her flat in the 10th arrondissement of Paris on Wednesday, two days before her 29th birthday.

"We confirm the death of Lucy Gordon in an apparent suicide," police said.

Media reported she had hanged herself.

R.I.P Lucy Gordon

GreenieGobbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10427768442887648923dylan_bargas@yahoo.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31473526.post-23419672805900418102009-05-20T20:19:00.000-07:002009-05-21T20:46:35.750-07:00Sam Raimi on Returning to Spider-Man<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 179px; height: 200px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_A7x5uJ8RW28/ShYbuMyzE5I/AAAAAAAAAEs/XBfKYR-uKGQ/s200/sam-raimi.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338484888816522130" />ComingSoon.net/SuperHeroHype.com interviews Sam Raimi on his return to the "Spider-Man" franchise and his plans for the future of the series. While we can't talk just yet about what we saw, we did get to spend a good 45 minutes with the film's co-writers and executive producers, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, both cool guys who are clearly fans of genre. With that in mind, it was exciting to know they were working on the first draft for Sony's planned "Spider-Man" spin-off movie Venom, and we had to try to get in a few questions about that.

The duo actually went to Sony with a pitch for their take for the popular Spidey villain, but couldn't really say too much about it due to the usual non-disclosure agreements anyone involved with such a high profile project for Marvel would probably have to sign.

"Venom is something that we're very fired up to be writing," Reese told us. "We have turned in a draft and are waiting to hear back, so it's early in the process. But it's a thrill to be writing 'Venom' for obvious reasons."

As far as what Marvel is looking for, Reese did say that they had to follow "certain parameters" or the "47 rules" as Wernick called them.

"Obviously, with a character like Venom there's a ton of stuff to draw from," Reese told us. "Then they had specific rules about the villain and the backstory and stuff like that, so there were certain things they wanted us... certain parameters they gave us. But largely we pitched them something and they liked it but they had changes, so we worked on the outline for a long time and then we wrote the script. So with Marvel and Sony and us it's definitely very, very collaborative."

They couldn't talk about whether they were going to ignore everything that happened with the character in Spider-Man 3 or start fresh for reasons mentioned above.

They're also working on a project with Universal called Earth vs. Moon, which also sounds like an exciting idea for a film. "We have to make the release date, and on all of these pictures, the 'Spider-Man' films--and I'm sure it's the same as with many of the other bigger-budgeted films--they have release dates far in advance of a screenplay," he said. "They really gave me a tremendous amount of control on the first two films, actually," he said. "But then there were different opinions on the third film and I didn't really have creative control, so to speak."

He added that "The best way for me to move forward on films, is that I've got to be the singular voice that makes the creative choices on the film. I love Spider-Man so much that I'd like to continue telling Spider-Man stories. This game was pretty awesome, and different. I own this game for my Xbox 360, which doesn't mean anything for the other copies for the different platforms (Wii, PlayStation 3, etc.), but I thought I should mention that before hand.

The plot is very interesting, and it has a much darker tone to it too. It starts off with Spidey in the symbiote invaded New York City, regreting what had happen in the past few days. He tells the story of how it all started, and the choices that you have to make in order to save the city once more from Venom's evil plan to take over it.

The voice talents in this game were okay, but I like the guy who plays as Wolverine in this game. He is what soles the story and the more convincing role too. The voice of Spidey is OK, he just got a little annoying at times, but at least this time he is more funnier at his one-liners. That was great!

And the black suit and red suit choices is pretty cool too. I played through the entire game twice, first time red, second time black.

I am playing it for the third time now, and I am getting all of my upgrades, and making random choices that will alter the en

ding. This could be a hint, that Morbius could be one of the villains in "Spider-Man 4". Along with the rumored villain Lizard, which Dr. Curt Connors was shown in the previous movies, played by Dylan Baker, as maybe one day he will turned into the green scaled reptilian villain. Hopefully Dylan Baker returns to reprise his role as Connors, and maybe the role as the Lizard. Who knows?

I would love to see both of these characters as the villains in Spidey 4, maybe a team-up can be possible. I really like the Morbius character, although I wished he was chosen to be in one of the Blade movies. But that's not happening anytime soon, since that series ended with Dracula nearly killing the vampire slayer. So I don't know. I don't know what Raimi is thinking about for the fourth installment. All I know is what I heard in this article (click on the provided link). Hopefully we get something soon about this, I am so excited right I can't explain how much I am excited about it. I am basically speechless. Well, if anything new pops up, you know that I will report it here on my Spidey Blog.

Source: Link

GreenieGobbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10427768442887648923dylan_bargas@yahoo.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31473526.post-22522341672047638092008-10-31T21:24:00.000-07:002008-11-08T21:30:06.791-08:00David Lindsay-Abaire to Pen Spider-Man 4Playwright David Lindsay-Abaire (upcoming Inkheart), who won a Pulitzer in 2007 for his drama "Rabbit Hole," is in final negotiations to write Spider-Man 4 for Columbia Pictures, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire are back as director and star, respectively, as are series producers Laura Ziskin and Avi Arad. But what about Kirsten Dunst?

“Kirsten, I’d love to work with her again,” Raimi explained to us this week, making it sound as if current plans to include Dunst for “Spider-Man 4” and “Spider-Man 5” are still up in the air, despite recent statements that she wants to remain with the franchise. “I hope she’ll be written into it. I couldn’t imagine making one without her, and I think she’s an important part of the movies.”

Nevertheless, Raimi admitted that the very nature of an episodic series requires that characters come and go. “I wish I could work with James Franco again,” said the man who directed the first three hit movies. “But his character died in the last one; same with Uncle Ben. Fortunately, we’ve been able to bring back all the dead characters [like Willem Dafoe as Norman Osborn or Cliff Robertson as Ben Parker]. I can’t let them go, in each and every picture; but it gets harder and harder.”

Now things are about to get hard yet again for Raimi, as he’s making plans to continue the cinematic tale of Peter Parker. “I’m really excited about Spider-Man, and I’m hoping to direct it,” he cautioned. “I don’t have a script yet, but production would start probably by March of 2010, I’m guessing. It sounds like a long time away, but we need a script first, and a lot of pre-production has to take place.”

The filmmaking legend also revealed to us that there is a lot of truth behind rumors that he might shoot the next two “Spider-Man” films at the same time. “That had been talked about,” he said, deferring to the head of his studio. “It’s Amy Pascal’s decision. I don’t think it has been decided yet, and she’s the one that’s really going to make that decision; I’m really curious myself.”

By his own admission, “Spider-Man 3” was an exhaustive film to shoot, but Raimi is confident he can handle the double duty. “It would be a real endurance test, probably only Peter Jackson knows how hard something like that would be,” he marveled, hinting that “4” and “5” would be very closely linked in storyline. “If Tobey and me, and all the producers, like the story for two pictures and Amy wanted to do it, then we would do it. It just hasn’t been written yet.”

Finally, Raimi offered comment on the wishes of fans (and yours truly) to finally let Dylan Baker’s storyline come to fruition. “He’s a great actor, and I think one day The Lizard’s story will be told,” he teased, referring to Baker’s Curt Connors character. “I don’t know if it will be this one or not. I just don’t know. I’m definitely hoping to work with Dylan in the picture. I just don’t know who the villain is yet.”

Which characters do you feel need to return for the next two “Spider-Man” films? Mary Jane, The Lizard, or neither?

Source: MTV's Splash Page

GreenieGobbiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10427768442887648923dylan_bargas@yahoo.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31473526.post-8011469447012500572008-10-10T18:09:00.000-07:002008-11-08T21:34:18.897-08:00The New Spider-Man: Web of Shadows Trailer!Activision has provided us with the new trailer for "Spider-Man: Web of Shadows"!
