I think I heard once that summer is supposed to be a "slower" pace. Well, that doesn't seem true anymore!

We rearranged our summer schedule to have one meeting in July, but with only 3 people available to attend, we canceled that.

The next meeting will be the picnic on August 7. 6:30pm. Location to be determined. Pot Luck, so start thinking about your favorite dish to bring and share. Family members or close friends welcome!

Jack Canfield recording presented on 1-9-07

Barb Gordon shared a training recording courtesy of Arbonne International. Jack Canfield was the speaker on the recording. The 30-minute talk contained a lot of information. Jack authored the book, The Success Principles.

The recording covered a few of those principles such as:

Take 100% responsibility for your life. E+R=O Events plus your Response equals the outcome. You are presented with a cake (event). You eat it (response). You gain weight (outcome). How could you prevent the weight gain? Change the response.

Act as if everything in your life is controlled by you. You can control what you think, imagine, do and say. Your experiences are a result of what your choices and actions.

Clarify what you want. Write down your goals. 3% of people write down their goals. The likelihood that you will reach a goal is increased 200% if you just write it down.

Visualize your goals. Dream Big (BHAG).

Take Action. Obvious action and inspired action. Ask for what you want.

December 5, 2006 will be our only meeting in December. We will elect officers. I will email a slate of candidates prior to the meeting.

January, 2007: Since the first Tuesday in January is the 2nd and the month has 5 Tuesdays, we will meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesday, for this month only. January 9th and 23rd.

Tentatively the rest of 2007 is: Feb 6, 20. Mar 6, 20. April 3, 17. May 1, 15. June 5, 19. July 3, 17 (suggest only meeting on the 17th). Aug 7, 21. Sept 4, 18. Oct 2, 16. Nov 6, 20. Dec 4, 18.

October 14, 11:00 - 3:00: Health Awareness Day @ West Glen Town Center
We will be doing baking demonstrations of healthy treats for your pooches, as well as sampling healthy treats. We will have a Massage Therapist demonstrating massage techniques you can use on your pooches.

October 20, 5:00 - 7:00: Santa ‘n Paws @ West Glen Location
Bring your four-legged friend to pose in a Christmas photo with Santa. You may purchase photos and cards in packages or as a la carte items. Please sign up for an appointment by calling Arl Main at 515-262-9503.

October 22, 1:00 - 3:00: 9th Annual Dogtoberfest @ Valley Junction Location

Valley Junction merchants will open their doors as the entire neighborhood sparkles with a fantastic light display. A vote was taken at our meeting today. It was decided to hold meetings at noon on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. After meeting at 7am for the first 2 months, we think attendance and participation may increase if we switch to noon. We encourage members to pick up their own lunch on the way to the meeting.

Do you remember when radio disc jockeys used to be trusted friends?
