Apparently, some of their bottles, from only one of their glass suppliers (1% of supply), were detected to have very small amounts of glass in them. The bits are about the size of a grain of sand.Boston Beer is doing everything they can to fix this issue. I have always been a sucker for these kinds of beer because they remind me of all the things I love about Christmas plus Beer. I had a few that were good and some that were awful, the Abita one tasted rough, but overall it was not my favorite year for seasonal/winter/christmas brews.Since I was a lazy Stephenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01812252078625913661noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3138059366469094731.post-8801087003511832122008-01-22T13:38:00.000-05:002008-01-22T13:51:14.287-05:00Cold and Drunk in RichmondI recently assisted my girlfriend on an excursion to Richmond. We arrived around 9:30 at our hotel in downtown and found nothing to do in the building. So what do you do when it is 20 degrees outside but nothing to do in your hotel? Well, my most awesome girlfriend had already researched the nearest pub (she doesn't like beer, so she is extra awesome). It has been a long time coming but I am back on the site. I had some things happen in my personal life that turned me away from writing. My father passed away in October and it has taken me a long time since to motivate myself to care about this site. However, I have a new twitter subscriber who I respect so I thought I'd post something new.Thank you for you patience and let theStephenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01812252078625913661noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3138059366469094731.post-43486442779801506122007-08-09T16:29:00.000-04:002007-08-09T16:37:25.983-04:00Where has the beer idiot been?Recently, I have been involved in a number of activities which have kept me from writing for the blog. Seeing as I don't have any other writers other than my brother, the blog doesn't get written until I can get to it. I would like to get to it as soon as possible but family complications and applying for design school have moved to the forefront of my life.I hope to have a post up for the siteStephenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01812252078625913661noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3138059366469094731.post-61402407539056297932007-07-23T12:02:00.000-04:002007-07-23T08:34:27.282-04:00New Logo!I guess I can call it new, I mean it is, but there wasn't one that preceded it. One, for example, was Killian's Irish Red. Everyone's favorite Irish beer other than Guinness, was known as a slightly smokey Irish Red Lager, not ale as the original recipe calls for, that you could always count on when you Stephenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01812252078625913661noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3138059366469094731.post-82983986965275737242007-07-13T19:16:00.000-04:002007-07-23T00:06:21.435-04:00Where'd the Beer Session go?So I came back on from spending time with family and friends on Monday and noticed that there was nothing posted on this blog about the July 4th Session. While they begin to choose more specialty beers, it tends to waiver on the side of one offering from each brewer; and not even the best offering at that. I heard of it about five years ago, saw a beer can chicken roaster(why?) about three years ago, and found I good looking recipe for it today. Obviously a great label can sell a beer. So can the can(Foster's). Foster's redefined the industry by selling their beer in the 'oil can.' At 750mL, that's a bit of a whopper; and while the taste/quality of the beer is arguable, it's always fun to drink one. But now, my opinion has been swayed.I was in Manhattan recently when I Stephenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01812252078625913661noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3138059366469094731.post-37078930263939599692007-06-17T21:38:00.000-04:002007-06-19T19:20:01.989-04:00Alternabrew -SorghumI am sitting here trying my first Sorghum based beer(ie. Gluten Free) and while it isn't a micro brew, it ain't half bad. I'm trying Redbridge from Anheuser-Busch. For those looking for IPA there are many brews, but Dogfish Head stands out as one of the premier breweries in the US for classic IPAs.
