It makes me so happy!!! Anyways, tonight's show had two performances that I loved!

Chelsie and Mark danced a hip-hop to "Bleeding Love". Adam Shankman described it as a lyrical hip-hop and it was beautiful. Chelsie had so much emotion and it worked, it didn't look fake. Mark was smoking hot, he is a beautiful man! I loved it....enough said.

Joshua and Katee danced a samba. Okay, I was not a fan of Katee after her vegas fiasco, but since she is paired with my lovely Joshua, I love her! I think Josh is the cutest boy ever, he has the best smile and he makes me smile all the time. I watched their pre-dance package like ten times because it is so hilarious. I was worried about the Samba, but man that guy can shake his hips and his behind looked divine in those pants! When he started shaking those hips my mouth fell to the ground...it was nice!

I can't wait to see who goes home tonight....I think maybe Chelsea Traille and ChrisAliciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08860616788524907708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-313493479602762432.post-36641331674065419012008-06-26T09:36:00.006-04:002008-06-26T10:13:37.773-04:00Wicked Part 2Okay, so it is no secret that I love Wicked! It was absolutely amazing. I am a huge Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth fan so I obviously compare every Elphaba and Glinda to those two (not that I've actually seen them in Wicked live, but it was a dream of mine haha). I was so excited the whole day and driving into Buffalo (or "the big city" as the cute kiddies call it) I felt the need to take some random pics. See below

Okay, so we get to Buffalo super early (like 5:15, show starts at 7:30) and go eat at this pizza place across from Shea's...I forgot the name though, sorry! The place is packed with a bunch of people getting ready to see a band for Thursday in the Square. I'm not sure, but I am guessing it was some sort of emo band. We looked out of place, mildly dressed up for Shea's. So we are just chillin after eating, but we still have so much time left! So we head over to Melanie's, which is a little ice cream place next to Shea's. I look out the back door and what do I see?

Yep, I had to get a picture because I am super awesome. I touched the semi! This is where we saw the cast members but didn't realize it until later.

So we finally get in and I get my souvenirs and totally drop my ticket on the floor....ugh! But I got it and all is good. So pre-show I was so tempted to take a picture of the backdrop but the girl in front of me got in trouble for doing that, so I put my camera away and tried to take a mental picture...click. (In case you were wondering, it is a map of Oz). Pre-show Em and I were talking about how we were so excited for "Defying Gravity". I recommend a video search because it is amazing.

I forgot how bright the set is and the costumes are amazing! I also forgot that it is hilarious in spots such as "What is this Feeling?" and "Popular". It is amazing how detailed it is and will truly make you look at The Wizard of Oz in a different way. Carmen Cusack and Katie Rose Clarke were amazing in the roles of Elphaba and Glinda (by the way, isn't Elphaba the coolest name?). I was weary at first but they truly brought their own spin on the characters. And Carmen's "Defying Gravity" brought tears to my eyes, yes I always cry during that number, but she was truly amazing. I felt a bit dorky at first, but this is the point in the show where you see the Wicked Witch is not wicked at all, but she has to resort to it. As she says "no good deed goes unpunished".

Anyways, I just bought myself a ticket for July 12th. It is my birthday present to myself. I can't wait to go again, yes I am going alone, but I don't care! I want to get some more souveniers, such as this keychain, this magnet, this hoodie. I probably won't get the hoodie, but it is super pretty! I can't wait!Aliciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08860616788524907708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-313493479602762432.post-50976782918156301832008-06-23T09:27:00.004-04:002008-06-23T09:58:03.240-04:002008 Olympic TrialsI love the Olympics and I used to love watching gymnastics all the time. I somehow over the years became less and less obsessed with it and decided to start over! I watched the Olympic Trials this weekend and began to remember why I loved it so much in the first place.

I took gymnastics when I was little so I was always watching it. In 1996 I remember I was so excited when the women won the gold medal; I was a huge Dominique Moceanu fan. I got all the goodies, a movie about the Magnificent Seven, a book, a movie about the 1996 Olympics. I was crazy! After 1996 I loved Vanessa Atler and I was devastated when she didn't make the 2000 team. After that I just wasn't into gymnastics anymore. I did watch the Olympics that year and there were so many problems. The vault was not at the correct height and the All Around gold medalist Andreea Raducan was stripped of her gold medal. In 2004 Paul Hamm's gold medal was also controversial! It's just too much to handle.

So I start watching again on Saturday and I learn that the top 2 women will be named to the 2008 Olympic Team and 12 others will go to Marta Karolyi's selection camp. The scoring is also very strange now, and while I will miss the days where a "10" could be rewarded, I think the new scoring system actually makes sense. Call me crazy.

Here are just some random thoughts:

Raj Bhavsar broke my heart. He came in 3rd all-around and didn't make the Olympic Team, only as an alternate. Throughout all this, he stayed so positive and is truly inspirational. He didn't make the team in 2004 and spent 2 years in turmoil. He turned it all around and gained a positive perspective, created vision boards and envisioned make the 2008 team. He didn't make it, but there is a chance. If Paul Hamm in unable to compete because of his hand, will they place Raj on the team? I think a lot of people were rooting for Raj and it is unfortunate that his dream was not realized yet.

How cute is Jonathan Horton? I think I love him :) He is a little short for my liking, but when he is on tv I can pretend he is 6 feet tall

Am I the only person who doesn't think Morgan Hamm should have made the team? I didn't think he was particularly impressive at these trials. Paul Hamm didn't even compete, should he have made it? I guess I agree with Paul, but did they only put Morgan on the team to keep them together? I think Raj should have Morgan's spot, period. I can't elaborate anymore.

I pretty much agree with the rest of the Men's 2008 Olympic Team

I though Chellsie Memmel was amazing at the trials! She blew me away and I would love for her to make the team. I mean, she is a World All-Around champion and that is an amazing honor! USA gymnastics would really benefit from having her on the team.

I also want Alicia Sacromone to make the team as well. Her story is similar to Raj's except she didn't even qualify for trials in 2004 and almost gave up. I would love to see her realize her dream...and she has a fabulous name.

Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson made the team. Good for them, but I was so sick of everyone saying that they would be 1 and 2 in the trials. Were they overscored just to keep them in the top 2? Nastia had a terrible uneven bars routine last night and scored pretty high. I just can't get behind her, to me she seems arrogant. In last night's competition Chellsie Memmel truly kept up and I think she should have knocked Nastia out of second place. Shawn Johnson is adorable and bubbly and I agree with that decision. Her beam routine left my jaw on the ground, it is unbelievable how she attacks her tumbling on those 4 inches!

July 20th feels very far away for the selection camp. I hope they name Alicia and Chellsie and I have a feeling they will name Samantha Peszek should be the fifth person on the Olympic Team. The sixth spot, to me, is still up in the air.

Anyways, I am super excited for the Olympics :) I will most likely have comments during the Olympic Games and after the selection camp.Aliciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08860616788524907708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-313493479602762432.post-37368491907790364932008-06-20T09:06:00.004-04:002008-06-23T08:26:30.521-04:00Wicked Part 1I remember last March when Nani got her flyer for the upcoming season of Shea's and Wicked was listed. I think I screamed for about 2 hours! Anyways, June 19th finally came and we went to see it! This is my second time seeing Wicked; the first time I saw it was in Toronto. Now I am a huge dork and the first time I saw it I cried. I only cried when it first started because I was just so excited to be seeing Wicked. I thought I would be fine throughout this show, but I cried about 12 different times (more on that in a later post). Emily and I sat 4th row center at Shea's and it was even more amazing close up! I of course got a couple of souvenirs, this and this.

For those of you who don't know about Wicked, I would recommend checking out the website or reading the book. The book is amazing, yet totally different than the musical. Wicked is the story of the witches of Oz and what happened before Dorothy came along. It's an amazing concept and will make you look at the Wizard of Oz in a completely different way. It is so touching that I even saw other people crying. I highly recommend it!

I have some pictures of the tour bus, so I will have to post those later on. But it was funny because Emily and I saw the bus/semi and I had to go take a picture. There were some people walking past us talking about how it would be funny if they came out in their full costumes later. Of course by the time our slow brains figured it out, they were already inside :( Oh well!

I am going to post my pictures later on and also a more detailed review :)Aliciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08860616788524907708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-313493479602762432.post-87168984805802583442008-06-14T09:15:00.003-04:002008-06-14T09:18:57.864-04:00Conversation with GraceI had the cutest conversation with Grace yesterday; this conversation did not involve name calling of any sort! Grace saw I had a new color on my nails (cream - boring I know!) and decided I needed to paint her nails. This is not unusual as she usually has about 3 colors on her nails at one time. So she goes to pick a color and she picks out this beige-ish creamy color.....

Me: Grace do you want a different color maybe pink?
Grace: No, I want to be like you

AWWWWW! She is just too cute for words, not to mention good for my self-esteem!Aliciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08860616788524907708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-313493479602762432.post-42517205421880346032008-06-13T08:43:00.002-04:002008-06-13T08:47:41.886-04:00A Conversation with KyleYesterday we went to go visit Jake, Kyle and Grace. Kyle was watching Jake play the Wii so I went to talk to him and we had a little conversation that went something like this:

Me: Tomorrow is Friday the 13th, thank goodness it's Friday
Kyle: Today is Thursday, not Friday
Me: I know
Kyle: You said it was Friday you dumb bitch

.....ummmmmmmm what!? Seriously, I had a moment of shock! He said it very nicely (he has the cutest voice) so I wasn't sure if that is really what he said. But I knew when Jake burst out laughing that he really did just call me a dumb bitch. He felt bad afterwards and was trying to retract the statement but Jake and I were just laughing too hard. I had tears falling down my face I was laughing so hard. Then he got mad at us! He kept saying "guys stop it!". Then he was super nice to me the rest of the day.

I know it is the total wrong thing to do (laughing when a kid swears) but it was so freakin cute and kind of hilarious because he used it in the correct context! Every time I picture him saying it, I get a big smile on my face and laugh all over again!Aliciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08860616788524907708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-313493479602762432.post-57396276483951967442008-05-12T09:36:00.004-04:002008-05-12T09:43:07.945-04:00Long TimeWow! I haven't updated this site in a long time; I guess I was being lazy! Anyways, I have no new knitting news. Kyle's blanket is still not finished (!) and all my other projects are on hold. It seems that once summertime is near, I can't knit! I need to break that mindset.

In baking news, I made 2 cakes :)

This cake was for Nani's birthday! It was homemade chocolate cake (which was very moist and let to the crummy frosting!). The frosting made me a little mad because of the crumbs, but it tasted wonderful! The frosting I used was left over from Kyle's birthday cake (See below), I just added some more coloring to the frosting.

Kyle's cake is also chocolate (from a box) and I used the wilton cake pan. Number 18 is his favorite drive and he drive the M&M's car. This cake took forever, but it came out pretty well!
Aliciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08860616788524907708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-313493479602762432.post-74000283540953287742008-03-31T10:20:00.002-04:002008-03-31T10:22:10.323-04:00What's On My Needles...Week of 3/30/08-4/5/08This week on my needles I have:
1.) Cashmere Baby Wrap
2.) Striped Scarf
3.) Cabled Pillow

I made progress on the baby wrap. I finished the back panel and the left tie, and I plan on working on the left front panel and right tie today. I think I can finish this sweater by the end of the week. I am just waiting for the yarn for Kyle's blanket and then I have to knit like crazy because his birthday is in less than a month. When I finish Kyle's blanket I will post pictures of his and Jake's and give a link to the pattern. Overall, I am happy with Jake's blanket, however, if I make one for myself I will probably make it longer than the pattern calls for. I also want to get a baby blanket started since I have all the yarn for one!Aliciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08860616788524907708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-313493479602762432.post-34803450453215578962008-03-03T08:43:00.003-05:002008-03-03T08:47:47.857-05:00What's on My Needles...Week of 3/2-3/8/08This week on my needles I have:
1. Cable Knit Pillow
2. Cashmere Baby Wrap
3. Striped Scarf

I finally finished Jake's blanket! All I have to do is weave in the ends and possibly iron it and then I will post the final project on here. There are some projects that I need to start! I need to start Kyle's blanket and a baby blanket. I just need to get the yarn for Kyle's and I will be good to go :)

Aliciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08860616788524907708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-313493479602762432.post-29164709368978099282008-02-29T14:56:00.006-05:002008-02-29T15:56:59.923-05:00Devi's BirthdayFor Devi's birthday I made mini cupcakes :) White cake, with chocolate peanut butter fudge frosting per Devi's request. They were delicious and yummy, although the frosting was not working very well. It was a little too thick and I should have added more water...oh well!

I made Devi a scarf for her birthday. Since I used a variegated yarn I did a simple stitch so that the pattern could show up naturally. I did a K2, P2 ribbing throughout the entire length and then I added fringe. It was a simple knit, but I am pleased with the final product. I used Bellezza Collection Cosetta Yarn: Purple ( 3 skeins)

Eileen got Devi a cool pair of rubber gloves from Gloveables and they are so cute! Read all about it below :)

Tuesday, February 19th: Day of Departure....aka my first time flying ever. So we get to the airport about two hours early and go through security and see that our plane is on time. We are thinking to ourselves, awesome this is great. The only glitch is that instead of stopping in Atlanta and letting people off the plane, we now have to switch planes. Doesn't seem like too big of a deal and the gate attendant said he would explain it. We get on the plane, we are on time. I am all buckled, Jake and Emily have calmed me down with minimal tears from me. The flight attendant comes over to ask our names and we tell her and she goes oh you are on the plane. Okay...she leaves and comes back and tells us that there are no seats for us on the next plane and we should get off this plane so that we aren't stuck in Atlanta....okay all the people on the plane and she makes us get off. Then she asks us how old we are in this voice that makes us feel like we are like 10 years old, so we told her and she goes oh. Maybe I should have pretended to be younger? So we get off and this other girl comes running down telling us to get on the plane and there is a better chance of getting us a flight from Atlanta. So we get back on, put our carry-ons back up and buckle up. Then we get booted AGAIN, and like literally they slammed the doors behind us and took off. I think they left skid marks on the roadway. So now we are stuck in Buffalo's airport without knowing when we can get to Alabama. We are on standby for a later flight, it's too full. We are on stand-by again for another flight and they put us on first class, woohoo :) So the rest of the flight was pretty uneventful and we made it to Mobile around 8:00 or so, relieved to be in Alabama. So we missed about half a day in the Alabama sun :(

Wednesday, February 20th: We started out the morning walking along the ocean looking for shells. Then we went swimming and hot tubbing and worked on my (non-existent) tan. Then we went up for lunch and I read on the balcony. Then we drove to Fort Morgan, it was amazing to see all the damage that is still down south from the hurricane. We went to the local library to get a movie (The Chronicles of Narnia) For dinner we went to Sea n' Suds which was a short walk away from our condo. I felt rushed so I just had the cheeseburger...boring I know!

Thursday, February 21st: RAIN!!!! It downpoured...I think the weather channel said there was like 5 inches of rain or something. We had a pretty lazy morning. We did a little souvenir shopping and then drove over to the outlets where I got a cute tote bag :) Then we went to Lambert's Cafe (aka Throwed Rolls) They come around and throw rolls to you (fresh from the oven) and they bring over all sorts of side dishes. I had the fried chicken with a baked potato and green beans (yum) they brought over some fried okra and fried potatoes as well. It was all really good, but there was so much food! We ended the night with a dip in the hot tub in the rain. Em, Jake and I went upstairs to have a party in the Jacuzzi tub (in our bathing suits freaks!) and then watched our movie and drank some cran-apple deliciousness. It was very relaxing.

Friday, February 22nd: Fog and some rain. We drove out to the library and post office to send out our postcards. We went to Bahama Bob's for dinner. It was a cute little bar/restaurant that was bumping at 7:30! My goodness. I had the fish po' boy which was mighty yummy! And then I listened to the women next to us talk for a good 10 minutes about why they hate Hilary Clinton. It was a strange feeling being in a red state, that's for sure!

Saturday, February 23rd: We took the ferry to Dauphin Island and went to the Estuarium. It was a cute little aquarium and we had a lot of fun looking at the different animals.
Then we drove over the bridge where that man threw his kids off. I don't really like bridges or ferries so this wasn't the best part for me. We had planned to go to LuLu's for dinner but the wait was crazy long so we went to the Gulf Island Grill instead. I got a family sampler which had chicken fingers, buffalo mango shrimp and fried pickles. Huge amounts of food but it was all sooooo good, even the fried pickles. I ended up having so many leftovers and now I can say that I tried fried pickles :) The day ended with swimming and hot tub :)

Sunday, February 24th: Zoo day! We decided to go the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo which is a little zoo. We didn't know it but the Animal Planet actually did a documentary about this zoo. It was the cutest zoo ever and very exciting. The animals were cute....especially this guy.
He saw the food in our cups and he wanted us to feed him, and he was all over us. He kept getting so close that I thought he was going to kiss us. Good thing he was friendly. The goats were funny too. They biggest goat tried to steal Emily's cup of food....we have the bite marks to prove it ;) The highlight of the zoo trip would have to be the alligator's daring escape.
I made that sound really scary! In the picture above there are three alligators where there should be four. Earlier in the week I guess there was a flood and the gate under the gift shop received a nice hole where 3 of the 4 gators escaped into a different pond. When we were there they were trying to wrangle up the final alligator (which was kind of cool) and it took a lot of people! Jake even got to touch it....ew. After the zoo we went to LuLu's for lunch. This is Jimmy Buffet's sisters' restaurant. It was so cool there. I just had a greek salad but it was very filling because we were all picking off each other's plates. Emily got a side of mac and cheese to share with me and it was so good! Real southern cooking! It was really fun there and I recommend it for anyone who goes down to Gulf Shores! After lunch it was time for some mini-golf! We went to Pirates Island Golf which is just Pirate themed mini-golf. I do have to say that I had a hole in one (total fluke); I should also say that I lost by 17 points :( I tried though and I thought I rocked it! That was a really full day, so we ended it at the pool (of course).

Monday, February 25th: Our last day :( Today was our day to kind of veg out...Emily, Nani and I went outlet shopping woohoo! I got a cute scarf from Old Navy and a wallet from Coach for only $32. I save $117.10 according to the saleswoman...go me! After that, Emily, Jake and I went to the ocean. I read my book while Emily and Jake went searching in the ocean for shells. I only went up to my ankles though :) That night, Em and I made our memory bottles by collecting sand and putting some of our shells in them. For dinner we went to Sonic! Emily had wanted to go for awhile so we thought we would try it. It was a pretty cool drive-in restaurant and the perfect end to our vacation :)

Tuesday, February 26th: Travel again :( We had to wake up at 6:00 to get ready because the airport was about 2 hours away. We get to the airport and it is small (only 7 gates). We then go through security where they proceed to ransack our bags, I mean empty the suckers out after our careful packing arrangement. Of course, they didn't put anything back in the right place! Buffalo's airport didn't do this! So this is the beginning of our crankiness. We then have about a 40 minute layover, which is okay. We were just worried about getting to Atlanta with enough time to get our other plane. So our plane arrives and it is a small little piece of equipment and I hated it. The ride was so bumpy and traumatizing. So we get to ATL where we are all cranky apparently. We start heading to Gate D36 and Jake and I tried telling Emily we were going the wrong way but she was cranky and snappy and finally realized we were right. So we get to D36 where we find out that our gate has been moved to E35 (aka far away) so we get to E35 where the board says that our flight is at D36, so we ask and luckily it was only at E33. Ugh! Our flight is delayed about 1 1/2 hours. So about an hour later there is an ambulance right outside our gate! Well some women fell off the stairs (where the stairs and the gate connect) flat on her face. I mean that is a good 10 foot drop onto cement! So we got moved again, but that was awful. When we go to board this plane, we get ticket errors. So we get new boarding passes, still an error! Of course it is our tickets! So the gate attendant goes and fixes it somehow and tells us we can get on. We were literally the last people on the plane (small again) and we had to like walk outside and up the stairs. We were greeted in Buffalo by a lot of snow, but we were grateful to be on the ground! I cried tears of relief to be alive!

In summary: the vacation was awesome, the flying was not! It seemed like everything that could go wrong did!Aliciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08860616788524907708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-313493479602762432.post-5116522335890625542008-02-17T10:58:00.005-05:002008-02-17T11:20:53.383-05:00What's on my Needles....Week of 2/17/08-2/23/08This week on my needles I have:
1. Cable Knit Pillow
*did not work on this project at all this week (or the past month).
2. Cashmere Baby Wrap
*knit a couple of rows on the back section.
3. Plush Throw
*I have about 37 inches knit right now, I didn't work too much on it this week. I have to have it done by March 4th which doesn't give me much time. I am almost done though and if I knit a lot today and tomorrow I can get a good chunk done before Alabama. Once I am home I should finish it with no problem. I love the way the colors are blending right now and I cannot wait to block it!

4. I made chocolate cupcakes (from a box) and peanut butter frosting. All I did for the pb frosting was use 1 cup of peanut butter, 1/2 cup of butter, 2 cups of confectioner's sugar and 3 tbsp. of milk. Nice and simple....and yummy of course.

I tried the candy cups for the cupcake liners. I like the way they look, but it took me awhile to perfect the amount of batter placed in the holders. Anyways here are some of the goods I got :)

This is a Cupcake Button Pendant from Whimsy Love. I originally bought this for my mini Christmas Tree. I added some silver thread to the hook and now it sits in my rear view mirror. It is so cute, and I know that no one else has that in there car. She also sent me a super cute little cupcake notebook :) Adorable!

This is the Cutie Pie Cupcake Ornament from VWire Creations (right now she has a shoe ornament that I have my eye one, but will try and refrain!) . I got this around Christmas too. It is a cute little wire decoration with beads, after Christmas I brought it to work and hung it from my filing cabinet for a little extra pizazz.
These are my cupcake magnets from pinkpresent. I originally got these because they are cute and they were extremely cheap! Anyways, I got two for the price of one (yay!) and they now rest on my lovely filing cabinet at work :)
Up next we have my Cupcake Keychain from Gearbunny. I figured it was time to decorate my keychain with cupcakes, since my phone already has had the treatment :) I love the fact that it is pink too, it is as if this keychain was calling my name. Love it! I couldn't get a good picture of the keychain, so this is from the Etsy site. It looks good on my keys, I have to admit!
This is my glittery Cupcake Magnet from Edgy Petal. I love it and the glitter. This is also going on my filing cabinet at work....I have many magnets on my filing cabinet (everyone probably thinks I am crazy!!) She also has this great Glinda necklace that I crave on her store's site!!!! Oh my goodness, I think I should get it!!!

Finally we have the Cute Cupcake Stickers that I found on From Japan with Love's store. These are awesome stickers that are kind of puffy. I love them, they bring out the kid in me :) Who am I kidding? Everything brings out the kid in me!

Aliciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08860616788524907708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-313493479602762432.post-2109177680164176862008-02-13T09:39:00.002-05:002008-02-13T11:55:00.945-05:00What would Riggins do?<img src="http://www.bestweekever.tv/bwe/images/2008/02/savefnl_wwrdTL.jpg" alt="What Would Riggins Do? So I thought that this year I would share my thoughts on the 2008 Grammys. Already a winner before the show even starts is Carrie Underwood (yay!) for Best Female Country Vocal Performance-"Before He Cheats". Pshh, no contest.

Some quick love to the Sabres....wooooo 5-3 over the Florida Panthers (not to be confused with the Dillon Panthers). Although Richard Zednik took a skate to the neck....ewwwww!

Alicia Keys is an amazing performer with an amazing name. I didn't like her performance here though. Um what is with her hair? I was hoping for a little "No One" action, but no such luck!

Carrie Underwood....AMAZING! Seriously, I swear I am not biased, but she was amazing and I love her. That performance was unlike anything I have seen from her and I am excited that she is trying new things. I mean you can only hear "Before He Cheats" so many times, but she really made it look good! Her outfit was amazing too, those boots were so sparkly! I mean if I had those legs, I would probably wear that outfit every day...her arrivals dress was gorgeous. I didn't think I would be a fan of the floral print, but she really pulled it off. The cut of the dress was really flattering on her as well.
Alicia Keys wins Best Female R&B Vocal Performance and I agree. "No One" is an amazing song and I am glad she won...the only other nominee I know is Mary J. Blige so I was okay with Alicia Keys winning.

Rihanna rocks, her dress did not. I love "Umbrella" and "Please Don't Stop the Music", it was an awesome performance...the ending was odd though. Who was that guy?

Not too crazy about the Beatles (sorry) so I kind of ignored the next segment. Although I did catch the "Let it Be" ending and it gave me goosebumps. Amazing.

Miley Cyrus and Cindy Lauper present Best New Artist. Geez Cindy, let Miley talk. Miley looked really good, but much older than she actually is. I think she needs to dress a little more age appropriate and not wear sooooo much makeup! Amy Winehouse won, and can I just say that I am over Amy Winehouse. I really do not understand the fuss and I think she is WAY overpraised. I mean that song isn't that good anyways and she is a trainwreck! Ugh! I was hoping for a Taylor Swift victory, she is the only artist that I really knew in that category and she really deserves it.

We're back with Kanye singing "Stronger"...wtf is up with his glasses. I don't like Kanye so I am not going to comment on him.....we get a crowd shot after...HI Carrie!

Fergie and John Legend are next, and I also do not like Fergie sooooo I'm ignoring that performance! After the extremely short performance they present the award for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media (long title) and it goes to Love....whatever.

Up next we have the highly anticipated Beyonce and Tina Turner duet. Beyonce is up first....what.the.heck....that was strange. Okay, Tina Turner is way too old to be wearing so much silver and so little bra....enough said. Now for the duet...oooh Beyonce looks sparkly! Is it strange that now when I hear "Proud Mary", I immediately think of that teenage boy on American Idol?

I really don't like Nelly Furtado as a blonde. This part is weird, that Rosalyn Sanchez didn't get to say a word! This was for Song of the Year (Songwriter's award) I was really hoping Josh Kear and Chris Tompkins would win for "Before he Cheats" but (shocker!) Amy Winehouse won. Boo, GET OVER IT PEOPLE!

The "My Grammy Moment" winner is Ann Marie Calhoun (violin). What happened to the girl that won last year? The Foo Fighters sounded amazing and I really like the orchestra in the background.

OMG! The previews just showed the Chris Brown clip where he is wearing a Sabres hat...yay!

So George Lopez babbles on and introduces Brady Paisley. Love him, he is a great performer. I am secretly praying for an "Oh Love" duet with Carrie but of course, my wish has not been granted. Brad Paisley...holy ugly facial hair. Is it weird that I am obsessed with his guitar? It has like a sparkly glitter paisley pattern, I honestly cannot stop staring at it! Yes I am a loser.

Hello Chris Brown...normally I love you but what are you wearing! SIDE NOTE: Did you know that his song "With You" was meant for me? Seriously, it was haha. And also, way to totally walk in front of Solange haha. Oh Akon...hello lover, you are looking nice tonight! Anyways they are presenting for Best Rap Album and it goes to Kanye West "Graduation". It appears that he has the word MAMA shaved into his head....strange. His outfit is weird, the sunglasses are awful and it appears he has lights on in jacket. Those are some bad sparkles! Oh my gosh he totally told those producers off. I really hate Kanye, he is so full of himself. I understand he wanted to say something about his mom, but he knows that you only get a certain amount of time up there. ugh...vent over. Oh I soooooooo hope he doesn't win Album of the Year.

Ludacris! Oh he looks so handsome in his tux, I like the white tie on black shirt combo. He introduces Aretha Franklin and some gospel singers....kind of ignored that. Although, I can say I did not care for the color of her dress!

Dierks...what are you wearing, I can totally see your package and you look like a UPS driver! Also, you don't look as cute as I remember. Oooh, hi Carrie! Where is Chace btw? So Feist is singing. She is much better than Amy Winehouse (who I just realized has my initials...aw). But her performance is boring and so is her guitar. Plus, does it bother anyone else the way she counts 1,2,3,4,5,6,9,10. What about 7 and 8 Feist? The good thing is, the girl is Canadian. I love Canada. Canda is responsible for my lover Tim Riggins (aka Taylor Kitsch). Let's take a moment of silence in appreciation of Canada.

Thank you for that moment. Go Canada.

Next up, not so sexy Kid Rock and Keely Smith with the gross flirting...ewwww. Her shoes are hideous. And they present Best Rock Album to the Foo Fighters...boooo I wanted Daughtry to win but I am okay with the Foo Fighters.

Stevie Wonder is introducing Alicia Keys in a nasty leopard print shirt and does a little "No One" for us...amazing. Alicia Keys performs and her hair is much better! Her dress is so sparkly (I love it), earrings are awful and leggings are weird. She sounds amazing though and then....John Mayer! Cue to me screaming like a preteen. Just kidding, but he does look sexy tonight. Normally I don't like him, but he is on tonight. I am excited by this because of his little youtube video where he sings "No One". That performance was amazing! On a side note, I really should have stuck with those piano lessons when I was 10. It could be me and Alicia Keys performing together because I have such an amazing voice (haha).

Vince Gill wins Best Country Album and makes a joke to Kanye about how a Beatle presented his award. Haha, go Vince Gill!

Okay, two people I don't know are on now so I will go pack my lunch. Seriously, I am exhausted. Can we get on with the show people! You know Amy Winehouse will close the show because she is so freaking special.

Taylor Swift and some guy present Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. What an odd pairing for this award, and holy Taylor Swift is tall. Rihanna and Jay-Z win for "Umbrella" yay! I am hoping Carrie runs up onstage to sing her version that can be heard at her concerts with Keith Urban. Nope, that didn't happen :( boo BTW, nice bow-tie Jay-Z.

Amy Winehouse is on right now. Her hair makes me want to vomit. And what is with the eyeliner. That is all she gets from me. She also wins Album of the Year...shocker.

Some guy is talking now and it is past 11:00 so it is now bedtime and I will stop my Grammy coverage. I know I am going to miss Josh Groban, but I am okay with that.
Well that was the Grammy's, they were pretty boring this year. Where was all the country music? Highlights of the night were Carrie Underwood and Alicia Keys...that is about it.

Aliciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08860616788524907708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-313493479602762432.post-74903487802957790112008-02-10T13:55:00.000-05:002008-02-10T14:10:33.997-05:00Friday Night Lights....a pleaWith the writer's strike coming to an end (we all hope) the future of my favorite television show hangs in the balance. Friday Night Lights is quite possibly one of the best shows ever (besides Friends). The acting is excellent, the stories are excellent....why isn't anyone watching it! This show is so real, everything about it is just perfect (especially Taylor Kitsch...yum). It just goes to show that everything I love gets canceled. Examples: Wonderfalls, Reunion, Daybreak, Life as We Know It, Windfall and some others. Surely I am the kiss of death. I can handle the fact that the awards show is snubbing the awesome cast and crew, but I cannot handle cancelation!!!!!!!

These past few weeks I have been watching Season 1 of FNL on DVD and I laughed and cried throughout the entire season. Season 2 just had the finale and is anticipating a DVD release on April 15th but what about a Season 3, or the other 7 episodes that were picked up for Season 2 before the writer's strike? Articles like this, this and this make we want to cry a little, but at least there are campaigns out there to save it! Seriously, right now I am just hanging on and hoping for a Season 3. What will I do without Matt Saracen, Tim Riggins, Landry Clarke and Coach Taylor? I love them all!!!! Here is hoping that something good happens to this awesome show!

Now that I have been very dramatic, I am going to google me some Taylor Kitsch :) and probably watch Season 1 again.Aliciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08860616788524907708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-313493479602762432.post-43237588743299336682008-02-10T13:48:00.000-05:002008-02-10T13:54:18.768-05:00What's On My Needles? Week of 2/10/08 - 2/16/08This week on my needles I have:
1. Cable knit pillow
2. Cashmere baby wrap
3. Plush Throw
4. Cotton stockinette scarf

This past week I have been working mostly on the plush throw for Jake's birthday. I am using Jiffy Yarn in Rust and Paprika and the colors are blending really nicely. It is also a really easy and fast knit (for a blanket) and I have about 30 inches knit so far! I have less than a month to get this blanket ready but I think I can do it if I knit all week and I knit after my vacation like a crazy woman :)

I have also been working on a little scarf for moi, it is really cool looking and the colors look great. I am u sing Lily Sugar'n Cream yarn in Rosewood and it is a striping yarn. I love the way it looks and I have about 10 inches knit up but I think I am going to rip it out and start over...I dumbly did the scarf in stockinette and it is curling so I might have to add a garter border...unless I decide to block it or something. I am still undecided though :(Aliciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08860616788524907708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-313493479602762432.post-75119782153078559372008-02-06T21:24:00.000-05:002008-02-06T21:42:05.544-05:00I am a Winner.......SeriouslyThanks to Michelle at All Lacquered Up for making me a winner! I have been on a bit of a polish binge lately (which has been unkind to the pocketbook) and her blog is really awesome and makes me want every color possible! Seriously, every time I see her new color swatches I make a list of all the polish I want and then I search for it. It's a bad habit :) Anyways, I was one of the winners for her Fanatic Feedback 2007 and I won some amazing things!

First up I received the OMG! 2bHot and 2bKewl collections. I was so surprised when both of these sets arrived, I almost cried....yes I really did, I had been eagerly anticipating the release of these colors! These are the new colors from China Glaze and the are amazing. The 2bKewl collection better suits my skin tone, but I love all these colors anyways..... and if that wasn't enough

Another package arrived! In this bundle we have lots of good stuff! There is Vaseline Cocoa Butter, Vaseline Aloe Fresh, PediSaver (pedicure socks), Zoya Minicure, essie Winter '07 Collection Minis and a Nocti polish collection. I was very excited to see the Nocti colors because my nails like the bright colors right now, they are very unexpected and fun. Plus with my vacation coming up in less than two weeks, brights will put me in the summer mood. I am also excited about the pedisavers because my feet always freeze when I give myself pedicures and now I can keep them warm without ruining the polish.

I am so thankful for this great prize, it is truly amazing and I will honestly use every item received. Thanks so much again to All Lacquered Up!Aliciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08860616788524907708noreply@blogger.com
