CATS ON TUESDAY - How to handle boredom ?

CATS ON TUESDAY

Since we are back from Italy the weather was absolutely lousy. Rain and only 16°C (61°F).
Arthur took it with composure and slept the whole day.

Rosie handled her boredom by hiding herself and jumped out on everything which moved, a cat, a leg, an arm,

Pookie took care of the telephone

Kim didn't bother, she anyway prefers her tent and stays outside.

But then one day, the rains stopped and they held a meeting on the still wet grass. Arthur of course didn't realize that it was wet, the females are a little more sensible.

Rosie by distraction talked to the fake Arthur

and Arthur tried to teach his stone double how to pee in the grass. It didn't work. Only for Arthur.

In my email box I found this pictures from an English friend. Arthur should welcome us home like this :

I wished Arthur would agree to this outfit. I have everything he would need. But he won't agree !

The very last day at the Garda Lake, coming back from the beach I thought I had hallucinations. Coming out under a quite big gate leading to a well protected private villa, Arthur crossed my way !

When he saw me he immediately came to say hello and turned around my legs, purred and was so really friendly !

I stayed and played a while with him, he was still a young cat about 6 months old but really Arthur's double !

Our Arthur while we were on holidays had choosen a new napping place, which he hasn't used for almost a year. As I didn't know that, I nearly stepped on him because he lays now under my desk and waits until the heat is gone before he visits the neighborhood.

The next day after our return I found Rosie a little strange but thought it was because it was so unusually hot. But then I noticed that she had difficulties to swallow as if she had something in her throat. The next day she tried to eat, but had to spit out the food, even the wet one. It didn't go through. In the evening I ran with her to the vet.

Rosie had a sore throat ! an Angina. I didn't even know that cats could get sore throats !

The vet gave her a shot with a painkiller. I told her that by watching her, I was now able to give shots and had done it into the belly of Mr. Gattino after his operation. She found that very good and suggested that I could give the shots myself, Rosie still needed 4, one each day and this way I didn't have to come back unless there was something special.

Armed with this shot I pulled up Rosie's fur and sticked the needle in. For some strange reason Mr. Gattino had something else to do and couldn't take a picture of me as vet. Rosie didn't even realize and only wondered about this strange thing.

Today she feels good again and I have to give her the last shot this evening, but she eats normally and apparently her throat doesn't hurt anymore either.

To comfort her I bought her two fresh mousies, the once she adores to carry around and let them drop into the food or water.

Pookie sleeps 24 h, ol'Lisa sings the whole day and want to eat and Kim I have only seen twice since we are back. She must sleep somewhere in a shady place.

We are back from Italy and the welcome we got from our abandonned cats looked like this

I found Rosie finally hidden in a bush

Pookie wanted tap water after 10 days of bowl water

and Lisa didn't hear us so I had to great her.

They are all very well. Next time more pictures ! Thank you all for your good wishes. The holidays were nice but it is good to be home !

I am at the Garda Lake in Italy until July 4the. My little darlings are at home and as usual my friend and Neighbour Vivienne takes care of them as she did for the past 30 years !

As soon as our car has left, the cats are standing at her door ! They know !

With all the stories I told about my roundtrip through Morocco, Pookie must have appreciated the most my tales about Harems. Because here you see her rolling around on an oriental rug, playing the luxury cat dreaming to be the favourite of 300 cat dames of the Harem (poor sultan) !

Rosie didn't listen to my stories, she prefers to sit at my window and watch what is going on on the street.

Then she saw Arthur and waved !

He was sitting in the neighbor's front garden across the street and watched some magpies. His friend Gedeon the neighbor's cat has a magpie as friend, it follows him on the street and hopps behind him. I didn't manage yet to make a picture of this strange couple. Arthur too of course wants to have such a friend.

When I opened the window and he saw Rosie he ran across the street and greated with a loud "meow" !

Rosie didn't want to go out, she prefered to stay were she was. It is end spring but still cool and rainy.

so Arthur sat down and was thinking hard to whom he could spend a visit now. If only there would be somebody in a garden !

Before I went to Morocco, I took Kim to the "hairdresser" because again she was full of knots and she always gets a nervous breakdown when we only try to approach with a brush !

But here she feels very comfortable, purrs and is happy, what a hypocrite !

I could make two other cats out of the fur which she combed out ! She must have been a sheep in her former life !

When I came back, Rosie looked suspicious

Arthur the philosopher decided to make a beauty out of himself in my unpacked suitcase

and Pookie slept in there for three days. Good excuse to leave it there where it was.

I saw a lot of cats during my roundtrip and they were not shy or skinny at all. Of course they don't live like our pampered darlings, but they are used to humans and also sleep with them. Cats are loved or liked in Morocco, probably because of the fact that Mohamed loved cats and even cut off his sleeve while he was reading to not disturb his cat.

Thinking what to do next .... dating ??

I can't report about my little darlings of course but I got adopted by a little cat in Marrakech while sitting on a terrace on this big market place

I had just sat down and ordered a Coke when this little cat just jumped on my knees turned around and made himself comfortable

So I kept him and we all laughed until our guide called us and the tour went on.

There are lots of cats in Morocco because cats were the favourite animal of Mohamed.

I was 6 days without Internet connection. In the very south of Morocco the time stood still and now I can't get Mr. Linky. Sorry. I am back in Marakech now since two days and we will return on wednesday.

I am also sorry not to be able to comment on your blogs because it takes ages to load a page. Internet is not yet up to date here in the very south of Morocco. Even in a 5 * hotel !

I will be on holidays in Morocco to discover the beautiful southern part of this country. I will see the Atlas mountains, the desert, and some historical sites too.

We will travel by bus. After the trip we will stay for 2 days in Marrakech to rest at the swimming pool before we take the plane back to Brussels.

Of course I will report if ever I can and show you photos. It all depends on Internet connections.

Next week's COT is prescheduled too !

While Pookie played in the bath tube with a little ball,

Rosie watched Arthur and began to doubt about his mental state. He courted the ceramic cat which stands on our terrace since years ! He had never done this before and I wondered if he needs glasses. Rosie wondered too but wasn't jalous.

Give me a kiss in my neck said Arthur,

and found her little head so sweet

Unfortunately he couldn't hear what the little ceramic girl said (if it was a girl of course)

so he moved a little closer

Do I smell better on this side ? He wondered

Suddenly he realized his mistake, looked around, hoped that nobody had seen him and disappeared !

COUNTING APPLES AND BUTTERFLIES

Arthur was sitting on the table, thinking hard what doing next when he has finished to count the butterflies (that's what I suppose)

While Rosie sitting on the kitchen table counted apples

One thing Arthur hadn't thought of, was his tail ! It hang down from the table !

Which of course inspired Rosie to give up the apple counting and rather pull at Arthur's tail. That's always so funny, she thinks !

Arthur has another opinion about that, got angry finished his grooming and went out.
