During peak a.m.
hours, a bus is positioned at the Old Town Transit Center. During peak
p.m. hours, a bus is positioned on Villa La Jolla Drive north of Nobel
Drive. MTS will monitor 150 route capacity and if additional capacity is
needed, it may run articulated buses on selected trips. To improve
service, MTS has also expanded route 30 to replace route 48/49 and
increased service to every 15 minutes in both directions. For more
information on the Free Bus Zone program, visit
http://blink.ucsd.edu/go/bussticker

UC San Diego Shuttle Service Changes

To save Coaster riders from paying MTS' Coaster Connector fares, UC San
Diego has added a new Coaster Shuttle route to provide east and west
campus service, including the La Jolla Medical Center and Torrey Pines
Center. The expanded service provides connections with southbound
commuter trains in the morning and northbound trains in the afternoon.

The Hillcrest/Campus Shuttle schedule has expanded evening service. This
route now provides continuous service from 6:00 a.m. to 9:55 p.m.
between the Hillcrest and La Jolla Medical Centers.

The Campus Loop Shuttle now serves the discontinued Torrey Pines Center
Shuttle route and operates year-round.

In response to campus bicycle commuters' requests, Transportation and
Parking Services has equipped many UC San Diego shuttles with new bike
racks that carry three bikes instead of two. Triple racks are now
available on Mesa, Hillcrest/Campus, Coaster, Arriba and Nobel routes.

For detailed shuttle and bus information, visit
http://blink.ucsd.edu/go/shuttles

These critical improvements represent our continuing efforts to reduce
campus energy use, greenhouse gas emissions, and regional traffic
congestion. We appreciate your continued support of sustainable
transportation.

Customer service is vital to everything we do at Transportation and
Parking Services and we value our customers' opinions. If you have ideas
for improving our services, please e-mail TellTPS@ucsd.edu.

Brian d'Autremont
Director
Transportation and
Parking ServicesPaul Jamasonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09035593929726848778noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31158667.post-31319503572832252842008-09-25T00:31:00.000-07:002008-09-25T00:31:00.000-07:00I stumbled on this blog thru a google search, but ...I stumbled on this blog thru a google search, but still thanks, this has been very helpful for the one UCSD student that read it.Travis Wainmanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06469634849500153856noreply@blogger.com
