hi moo, i agree that we need services like auto repair shops, but take a drive along adams in normal heights and you'll see that they don't all have to look like crap - some are well-maintained, others are a mess. when businesses don't care about their exterior appearance they have a negative impact on the neighborhood and how people feel about it.

i'm sure the nutek folks are nice but haven't they had plenty of opportunity over the years to improve the appearance of the business? and why should the community have to help them with it - are they struggling? now they're getting some good money for their property, we're getting rid of an eyesore, a grocery store comes into an area that needs it, and there are still plenty of other repair shops in the area to choose from. not too bad of a result.

I just did a google search to find my FAVORITE auto repair shop, and found your north park update describing it as 'the hideous nutek auto repair shop'. Mr Jamason you obviously have never tried their services. They are wonderful people and maybe with a little help from the neighborhood, the appearance could be improved. It doesn't work merely to dispose of your eyesore. Having neighborhood services is important - a wide range - not just boutiques, coffee shops and fancy restaurants.
