In the ending theme, the lyric has a part that says "no rain no rainbow". Kinda cool, because I've only heard until now "no pain no gain".

Was waiting for a rainbow after the rain ... Wondering whether the gloomy clouds will go away.

expanzeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11592290391684592349noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31137737.post-52644712729339131452009-03-19T10:17:00.003+01:002009-03-19T10:25:31.999+01:00bread
When I was in Malaysia I really like to eat the Gardenia bread. You know, with Uncle Slocumm's recipe. Gardenia's bread selling point in my eyes is their softness but full felling of the bread. Eating it with pandan kaya for breakfast is absolutely the ultimate breakfast (along with the long ultimate breakfast list we can find in Malaysia).

When I was in school Gardenia taps into a known teritorry which is the small and already-filled bread and makes it even better. Nowadays we can find a variety from this type of bread. From kaya to red beans, from chocolate to vanilla, from sambal ikan bilis to kari ayam, they have it all. This was quite the popular choice when people want to tend to their hungry pangs.

I don't know when but then came High 5. I guess they do what Gardenia does. We can literally see the similarity in their product line up. Maybe they think they are rivals to Gardenia. But frankly, do Gardenia's people give a flying monkey's fart about High 5? Must ask their marketing people.

Fast forward to 2009. Now I always shop at PLUS despite its status as the more expensive chain amongst the cheap groceries store. Why? Because it's the nearest to my current house. However, I don't really mind. Once I saw a documentary on the idiot box. They compare they price of 30 things people usually buys as their weekly groceries at 4 of these stores; PLUS, LIDL, ALDI and PENNYMARKT. The result was; PENNYMARKT won the race by a humongous 50 cents, ALDI and LIDL have exactly the same price at second place and PLUS came in last by the extravagant sum of, I think, 23 cents or something. Haji Bakhil also don't mind that kind of money.

Oops, got off track. Anyway since I started shopping at PLUS I began to buy their breads and their breads is so soft. Genuss I tell you, genuss! Put little bits of margarine and sugar on top of it. Bake for about 10 minute. Great stuff.

But you know what, nothing beats celuping (dipping) biskut lutut into piping hot coffee on a rainy days watching the raindrops in Malaysia. Now don't ask me what biskut lutut is.

expanzeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11592290391684592349noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31137737.post-88135437147774537792009-01-01T09:58:00.000+01:002009-01-01T09:59:30.309+01:00new year resolution 2009The first post of the New Year … It feel good and cold! It almost 11 p.m. here so I don't have much breathing space here. And with all the firework sound I can hardly concentrate ... Exaggeration max!

Anyway, the tag goes something like this : Write a blog (post) with 10 weird, random facts, habits, or goals about yourself. To write a blog with just random facts of YOURSELF is a bit sick I think. And who would read that. That's sicker.

10. I used to think that by eating prawn, I'll grow moustache. Now everyday eat ayam also grow moustache.

9. I like to collect things but always grow tired of them, like I collect stamps once and got an album full then move on to coins. Then I have an album full of them and I move on to ... You get the picture.

8. I've watched more than 100 title of J-Drama. Want suggestions anyone?

7. I like cheap snacks like the 10 cent keropoks and ice pop that you break in the middle using your thigh.

6. I miss the old school cathay (cinema) in my hometown. We can freaking eat kuaci in there and throw the kulit around. Now it has turned into a food court with a karaoke stage. Yes, they use the cinema screen as the karaoke screen.

5. I like receiving postcards now.

4. I have a bunch of weird friends. One of them said something like this, "Ko ade fikir pasal aku tak dalam bilik air?". Obviously before that person said that I didn't but surely after that I would, for a few weeks. Aiya.

3. I really want to use my time more efficiently.

2. Kish said, "I have never gone camping in my whole life". Me too

1. Now, SERIOUSLY, I don't even know why I took Engineering.

That took me about 15 minutes. So in about 45 minutes the New Year will come to the GMT +1 time zone. Have a jolly good year all!

EINEN GUTEN RUTSCH INS NEU JAHR!!!

P/S: This post would also be my 100th post ... By the way, this picture was taken in the Frischmarkt or like pasar tani in Malaysia. One thing though, they have different place to make business for vegetation, meat and fish. So it doesn't reek of meat and fish if you go only to the vegetation segment. They got vegetables, fruits anf flowers. Walking through the market is somewhat therapeutic for me. That happened thanks to an ancient system of pumping petrol.

Anyhoo, we passed mountain settlings of Magomadass and Medolo, which has kick-ass scenery. (Gosh, I think the word "breathtaking" bored me already.) It's different from the mountainous scenery in Malaysia. The green bush looks like it sprouted out of the limestone. They looked like green scattered face hair of a boy who just reached puberty.

On we go and we reached the city of Caglieri after driving along the coastal road. Caglieri is a very small city hidden between the hills and the ocean. It's a no brainer why we can find a lot of beach here. But since we practically had ocean all over us, we didn't plan on stopping here until ...

I saw a wonderful back of a young Sardinians (17, maybe 18) through the viewfinder (How ironic?) of Pek U's video camera. Immediately I said to Pek U, "U, baju merah tepi tu smart, blake la tapi. Tgk muke smart dok ...". We turned around after we passed her (Pek U forgotten already that he's supposed to drive.) and our blood shoot up! We go like "ZOMG! ZOMG!" because she look way better from the front. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better. From the cloth she wears, I guess she's going to the beach and we're gonna have a field day.

Needless to say, we change our plan and stop at the beach where Maria is headed to (Pek U conveniently gave that name and I don't know why. After that we sang "Maria Ave Maria" from the Korean movie 200 Pounds Beauty for one full day). And "Yes!" we said to ourself when we saw her there lying elegantly with a book and doning a white two-piece with pink tribal motive to make the bikini looks cute. A comical Japanese would have nosebleed right away.

With a sight like that, what else do young mens to do but other then making a fool of themselves and walk from one beach end to another many, many times. After we figured out that it's too obvious, we did a sightseeing of a cliff nearby (If only I have an army bino, I can skodeng from there some more *lol*) and as a result we lost here. Feeling down, we headed to our Twingo to continue our journey to Oristano.

And yet again Maria appeared looking tanner and still stunning. We lost her because she was going home. That makes sense. And again Pek U missed the scene. Not satisfied with that, he made an emergency u-turn (With screeching and stuff) but by then Maria has made a turn for her house. Of course, isn't it?

But frankly speaking, if you open your eyes wide enough and give it some time to think, you'll see that the world is fair indeed.

Okay just let me give you an imaginary example. Say in a class, there were a NERD and a TREND SETTER. TREND SETTER was always mean to NERD. Sticking gum at the seat of NERD, sticking pages of NERD's book with glue and hitting hime here and there to get some money. You know, the usual bully stuff. Now, NERD was a bright student but given the age cannot think far enough so he always thought that God wasn't being fair. 15 years after that, fueled byhis passion of physics and adrenalin rush, NERD becomes a roller coaster designer, creating many for amusement park around the world. TREND SETTER has becomed an average guy with an average job. Not really a trend setter anymore. He always bring his kids to the amusement park that has NERD's roller coaster.

Now, this example maybe a little bit far fetched but my point is, the world is fair. You must give it time and think about it. The 3 or so bucks NERD gave when TREND SETTER hit him back in their schooling day are given back to him in multiple in the form of admission fee to the amusement park. No need for hitting or taunting.

If you're feeling that the world in unfair or you're being treated unjustly, be patient and see the world from a different perspective. Maybe you'll be feeling a whole lot better.

expanzeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11592290391684592349noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31137737.post-3417826317276840862008-03-24T10:50:00.000+01:002008-03-24T10:57:51.310+01:00falling downI woke up to falling snow.

I, for one, was always a fan of watching things fall down. Back in Malaysia I enjoyed watching rain (From inside the warm safety of a home or room, obviously.) and hearing the sound of raindrops crashing to ground. There's also a distinctive and particular smell during rainpour. All those combined and minus the mosquitoes searching for safehaven make me feel calm and comfortable. Add a windchime to the equation, it can be a blissful experience engineered by nature. And after all that (And maybe after some piping hot fried rice or a cup of malaysian mix coffee and biscuits, the rectangular one ...) maybe a rainbow will appear to make a grand closing to a great experience.

In Germany, it rarely rains so hard. Rain always come in an unmotivated trickling. So I rarely get the chance to enjoy a heavy downpour. But in winter, sometime I do get to enjoy snowfall. Now snowfall is another experience all together than rain. Swowfall (Not snowstorm!) is a calming experience. All about it is calming. First of all, the air becomes sort of cleaner and a pure bliss to breath in. You can lose yourself in the slow and random motion of the snowflakes. And after that, snowfall leave your surrounding white making you feel pure. (Okay, don't be so curious like Rawai or you won't be feeling so pure :p )

So people, enjoy the force of gravity =)

expanzeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11592290391684592349noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31137737.post-23834035257811146112008-03-04T14:37:00.000+01:002008-03-04T14:43:11.590+01:00are you sure?Have you ever come around to a situation where you snapped at people for asking an obvious question. Depending on the people I sometimes do. Talk about double standard *sigh*

That aside, I bet most of us have gone through this situation, more or less.

Asking an obvious question sometimes isn't so obvious. Depending on the situation and current mood people can react differently. Say two women meet each other at a shooping mall. They're just got to know each other through a common friend and don't know much about each other. Let's call them Miss Single and Mrs Pregnant.

The scene is always the same. Mrs Pregnant was using the escalator downstairs and saw Miss Single oggling some blouse. Mrs Pregnant asks Miss Single, "Ah hi Single! Shopping? Are you alone?". Now come the situations where Miss Single would answers differently.

Situation A: Miss Single thinks this is just a stupid question and just answers "Yes" indifferently (Snapping at a person you just know seems kinda inappropriate.)

Situation B: Happy to see a new friend, and that is what is she doing anyway, she answers "Yeah, I'm looking around and maybe buy a few!" happily.

Situation C: She said no and adds, "I'm looking around to get inspiration for my design. I told you I'm a fashion designer, didn't I?.". She beams with a smile.

If you consider situation C, the question is not so stupid and obvious anymore. "There's no stupid question, just stupid answer." is right after all.

expanzeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11592290391684592349noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31137737.post-40375042025797859142008-02-21T07:54:00.007+01:002008-02-21T08:09:11.631+01:00collecting, fansubbing and stuffI like collecting stuff since I was small. I had a stamp albim, coin album etc etc. Nowadays my interest has taken a turn but nevertheless I'm still collecting stuff (I should gave up some though), like EURO coins, magic cards, novels and dramas to name a few.

My drama collection has expanded exponentially during the past years but it has been quite stable for a while. Maybe use becanow I'm a bit choosy and I've finished all great past dramas. To make up for it, I join several fansubs as a freelancer. I'll list down the drama and the link to d-addicts at the end of the post.

Fansubbing world has too many enemies. Although fansubbers don't make a penny out of their pocket (Sometime they give out their OWN money because of server mantainance, among others.), they're under the constant threat from the media and entertainment company. On the other hand, there are a bunch of stupid people and opportunist who grab their work and sell it on the net. Mind you the works of fansubbers are top notch and pawn official translators anytime.

One example is this GUY/GIRL. I hope you guys don't buy from him/her and spread the words. That person even has the guts to update the series as fansubber release their work. Now I'm working now One Pound Gospel with a team and that site *almost* had the same update with our team. Someone has buy some of the dvd there to confirm the content and it's true. For people who likes questioning and don't believe reasoning like "Someone has ..." (I know a person *lol*) and the like, you can try downloading and tehn buy it to make a comparison (Though I'm not encouraging it, that's pure waste of money.)

I think I'll stop down before my post becomes a rant. Signing out and may you found a great drama to make up the boring life here in Hardbreadland *gloomy*.

Dream Again (Complete)
Hardsub
Raw
Softsubs

One Pound Gospel (On going)
Hardsub
Raw
Softsubs

expanzeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11592290391684592349noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31137737.post-46469225757669059612008-02-19T23:31:00.002+01:002008-02-19T23:32:01.698+01:00haruhi mouse play

Suzumiya Haruhi is a very famous manga and anime in Japan. What do you guys think. It looks like the Wordpress theme but I change the color theme. This took sometime *fuh* I think I won't install a shoutbox because it'll disrupt the simplicity of the theme. Or maybe I'll dedicate a page for shoutbox alone. Mal gucken. What bothers me is the little dot on the letter "S" on the banner. Blogger won't take no title for an answer. So whoever knows XML, please tell me how to get rid of that little bugger. I gave up after my computer hanged and my kepale got a headache.

Talking about giving up, I realized something significant. I was so used to giving up, I can barely realize when I gave up now.Starting with going to boarding school until now. I gave up my time with my family, with my childhood friends, with my hometown. That cost me friendship. I hardly contact an indian friend of mine now who once I considered my best friend. We talked a lot and shared the same passion in primary school.

I gave up the joy of studying in a familiar place to come to a foreign place. 'Twas gloomy. One thing leads to another and I give up pretty easily nowadays.

On the bright side, I exchange my childhood friendship with great high school friends. The 5 years in SEMESTI was the time of my life, without a doubt. I can confirm that faster than you can bat your eyelash.

The gloom of Germany is the price I pay for the experience. Experiencing foreign land is exciting and inspiring.

Giving up is a skill. Everybody must learn to give up, but not easily. You must know when to give up and what other things you can achieve when you give something up.

I gave 10 years of ups and downs. I hope I'll find something new and interesting.

expanzeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11592290391684592349noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31137737.post-23648942856340343122008-01-18T10:36:00.000+01:002008-01-18T10:37:16.028+01:00wastin' timeOMG ...
