I generally have bad luck with ferns, not sure why because I follow the instructions. Can this fern be saved or is it well and truly dead? When I saw it was starting to die, about a week ago, I set it out on the balcony thinking it needed more sun. It quickly deteriorated to this.<br /><br />This blog entry written by <a href="http://mspmedia.net/about.html">Trula Breckenridge</a>. We lost power late afternoon, and the power was out until early afternoon today. We watched the storm from the balcony until it got very bad and we had to go in. The wind speed got as high as 70mph, and it was very scary to see and hear large branches breaking off of trees. Some of the smaller trees actually bent over from the wind. and to think this was just a little bit of the full impact of the hurricane! Above are some of my balcony garden plants, I brought my peppers and cherry tomato plants in. <br /><br />I brought my peppers and tomato plants in off the balcony but forgot all about my hanging tomato plants. This one survived with minimal damage!<br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/trula/2860690589/" title="Tailwind of Huricane Ike Hit Northeast Ohio Hard September 15th 2008 by .Mercury, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3148/2860690589_fe5ae3be19.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="Tailwind of Huricane Ike Hit Northeast Ohio Hard September 15th 2008" /></a><br /><br />The corn and sunflowers are totally trashed, but it was about that time to take down the corn plants anyway. <br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/trula/2861518338/" title="Tailwind of Huricane Ike Hit Northeast Ohio Hard September 15th 2008 by .Mercury, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3032/2861518338_b86ca73400.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="Tailwind of Huricane Ike Hit Northeast Ohio Hard September 15th 2008" /></a><br /><br />The tomato plants in the garden fared really well. A lot of the tomatoes got torn off due to wind but many did not (mostly unripe ones), which is total coolness. <br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/trula/2861518448/" title="Tailwind of Huricane Ike Hit Northeast Ohio Hard September 15th 2008 by .Mercury, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3109/2861518448_e0cb4cb3c8.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="Tailwind of Huricane Ike Hit Northeast Ohio Hard September 15th 2008" /></a><br /><br />This blog entry written by <a href="http://mspmedia.net/about.html">Trula Breckenridge</a>. I set the potatoes growing in the can a while ago and completely forgot about them! Whew the plants were nearly to the top of the can. I folded them in and covered with another layer of dirt. We will see what happens, by and by.<br /><br />This blog entry written by <a href="http://mspmedia.net/about.html">Trula Breckenridge</a>. The boys snack on these a lot all summer. Now the only apples that are left are on the top branches, high up in the tree. To get them I stand on the balcony and throw a basketball at the tree to knock some apples down. Usually 5-8 at a time. ^_^<br /><br />Here is T-bop getting ready to eat some :)<br /><br />This blog entry written by <a href="http://mspmedia.net/about.html">Trula Breckenridge</a>.
