One of the holiday traditions in the Candy Critic household every year is the advent calendar. What could be better than celebrating the holidays 25 days before the holidays with a chocolate every day? This year was made even more awesome because our advent calendar was provided to us from the lovely people at Madelain Chocolates.
These little doors not only have chocolate in them but the chocolate is wrapped up like a cute little gift. Also, I’m sure to please Allison more than me, each little door has a cute little Christmas poem written on it as well.

Bad Idea

Found this site called ‘put some polka dots on it’ with a fun little collection of candy failure, or as the kids call it candy fail. Apparently “ure” is too much to say for these young kids today. Now I’ve got to go and chase some younglings off my lawn.

Seal Meal

It appears the leaders in my country decided to have a meal made up of seal meat. I agree that the seal hunt is not a bad thing, but I’m thinking that sticking it other places that feel it’s wrong isn’t a very nice thing to do.

Pomegranate Disaster

Man I love pomegranates. I wish there where more pomegranate flavoured treats out in the world. I also wish that the ones that did exist tasted more like pomegranates and less like cherries and other berries. Unfortunately with a crash like this the price of these fruits might go up and we could see a pomegranate shortage forever.

Rather Disturbing

First of all I wouldn’t recommend that anybody even remotely squeamish watch this video. I’ve heard about restaurants that cook live fish and keep them alive and to be honest it just doesn’t seem right. I understand the need for freshness but really this just turns me off and I’m fairly adventurous with food.
