(Study to show thyself approved and be a doer of the Word) 5 As the bridegroom was delayed, all of them became drowsy and slept. (this is the world awaiting the Messiah's return) 6 But at midnight there was a shout, "Look! Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.' 7 Then all those bridesmaids got up and trimmed their lamps. (this is when Jesus returns) 8 The foolish (lukewarm saints) said to the wise, (true believers) "Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.' 9 But the wise replied, "No! there will not be enough for you and for us; you had better go to the dealers and buy some for yourselves.'(a lot of people will suddenly go out and try to learn about Jesus) 10 And while they went to buy it, the bridegroom (Jesus) came, and those who were ready went with him into the wedding banquet; and the door was shut. (God's elect will be raptured in the great tribulation) 11 Later the other bridesmaids came also, saying, "Lord, lord, open to us.' 12 But he replied, "Truly I tell you, I do not know you.' 13 Keep awake therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour. I’m going to post several prominent people that had an influence over masses of people, who voiced their opinion on God.

London’s “Evening Standard” newspaper published an interview with Beatle John Lennon on March 4th, 1966, in which he remarked:

‘Christianity will… vanish and shrink… We’re more popular than Jesus Christ right now.’

Full quote:
“Christianity will go. It will vanish and shrink. I needn’t argue with that; I’m right and I will be proved right. We’re more popular than Jesus now; I don’t know which will go first - rock and roll or Christianity”

In a news conference in Chicago, August 11th, 1966 he said:

You know the story of Adam and Eve and how they were deceived, but who were they deceived by? Movies and pictures have always depicted a snake or serpent as we know them today but the Bible says that the serpent was more cunning than any beast.

The Oxford dictionary’s definition of cunning is: • adjective 1 skilled in achieving one’s ends by deceit or evasion. 2 ingenious. 3 attractive; charming. noun 1 craftiness. 2 ingenuity.

Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD
God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, 'You shall not eat of every tree of the garden'?"

This scripture goes hand and hand with what Jesus said about false prophets: " Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. (Matthew 7:15)

So the LORD God said to the serpent: "Because you have done this, You are cursed more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you shall go, And you shall eat dust All the days of your life. (Genesis 3:14)

You have to be careful on who you listen to. In the world today, there are more false teachers than true teachers. Eve was talking to a cunning upright creature that made her do something that God commanded not too. Don’t we do the same! But thanks be to God for Jesus and the Bible. Scripture can back up any Christian teaching you hear. If the teaching has no scriptural backing, then it’s not the true Word of God.

Look out for all the snakes in the world!

law versus spirit

Now that the Messiah, Jesus, has come, it is said that we are no longer under the law which is true. But this only comes if you under the law of the Spirit, which ways and understandings, if followed, would have you as a model citizen and the laws wont apply to you because your spirit would not break them. Paul describes it in the passages below:
Galatians 5:16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. God and the scientist

One day a group of scientists got together and decided that man had come a long way and no longer needed God. So they picked one scientist to go and pray to Him that they were done with Him.

The scientist prays to God and says:

"God, we've decided that we no longer need you. We're to the point that we can clone people and do many miraculous things, and we figured out a way to create life out of nothing. We can now do what You did in the beginning."

God listened very patiently and kindly replies, "Oh, is that so? Tell Me how..."

The scientist says, "Well, we can take dirt and form it into the likeness of you and breathe life into it, thus creating man."

God says, "Well, that's very interesting...show Me."

So the scienist bent down and grabbed himself a handful of dirt and starts to mold the soil into the shape of a man.

God just looked at him and said, "No, no, no. Get your own dirt!"

God's Word empowers us to do and to accomplish His will for our lives.

20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

Sunday's message at Bethel Gospel Tabernacle was about resurrection Sunday and the message was based on these scriptures.
These were the main points:

1) We have Jesus presence to surround us. (this comes with believing, goodness and mercy)
2) We have His peace to secure us. (we have to know the Lord to glorify Him correctly. A true peace only comes from God)
3) We have His power to strengthen us. (when its needed, God will rise up in your situation and give you your breakthrough)

Because Jesus lives today, we have His promise to satisfy us.

The only wisdom in life that will matter in eternity is the wisdom of God and faith through Jesus Christ. Knowing the truth will put a sweet taste in anyone who accepts it. Pursue it and watch the floodgates of heaven open up for you!
