أعادت المطربة اللبنانية إليسا تصوير أغنية " لو تعرفوه" وهي من ألبومها بستناك وأخرجها الفرنسي يانك سايلت ومدير التصوير هو الإنجليزي جوردون سبونر اللذان جاءا خصيصا إلى لبنان لتصوير المشاهد في أماكن مختلفة في بيروت، كي تظهر أن لبنان لا يزال كما كان بلدا جميلا ومشرقا. الكليب استغرق تصويره يومين متواصلين بين منطقة وسط بيروت والأشرفية وفندق فينسيا وقد شارك إليسا التمثيل العارض التشيكي كاريل نيكل. المعروف أن إليسا كانت قد صورت نفس الأغنية مع المخرج سليم الترك ولكنها رفضت عرضها وأعادت تصويرها مرة ثانية.

عن ذلك قالت إليسا: لم يعجبني الكليب لأن المخرج سليم الترك استخدم فيه تقنية جديدة ولم تنجح، ومن حقي كفنانة إذا لم يعجبني أي شيء يتعلق بي أن أرفضه، لأن كل شيء محسوب عليّ، ولقد قمت بإعادة تصويره مرة أخرى مع مخرج أجنبي على نفقتي الخاصة، وليس كما أطلق بعض الحاقدين والمغرضين، أنه تم تصويره على نفقة شركة روتانا وليس معنى استعانتي بمخرج أجنبي أن سليم الترك مخرج سيئ، بالعكس فهو مخرج جيد وأنا أحبه واحترمه وقد نجحنا معا في أكثر من عمل، لكن الصورة التي ظهرت فيها في كليب لو تعرفوه لم تعجبني.

ونفت إليسا ما أشيع حول أنها ارتبطت بعقود سينمائية خلال هذه الفترة مؤكدة أنها تلقت عروضا سينمائية كثيرة للمشاركة في أفلام سينمائية لكنها غير مستعدة حاليا للسينما وليس لديها وقت، حيث إنها مشغولة ما بين التحضير لأغنيات جديدة وأسفارها إلى الدول العربية والأجنبية لإحياء حفلات، بالإضافة إلى انشغالها في تصوير أكثر من إعلان، كما نفت إليسا كل ما تردد أخيرا حول إجرائها عملية تجميل وقالت بغضب: كل هذه شائعات مغرضة لأنني لم أقم بأية عملية تجميل فلست في حاجة إليها.

وعن علاقتها بالسياسة قالت إليسا: لطالما نصحني والدي بعدم الحديث عن المال والسياسة، وكل ما أقوله عن المال إنني مرتاحة ولا أحب إثارة هذا الموضوع.

وأضافت: إذا كان لبنان ضعيفا، فواجبنا أن نقويه ونظهر وجهه الجميل في كل مكان. وتؤكد إليسا أنه لا وقت لديها للحب والزواج نظرا للمسؤولية الكبيرة المعنوية والمادية الملقاة على عاتقها بعد وفاة والدها لدرجة أنها تشعر أحيانا بأنها ليست امرأة. ولكنها رغم ذلك مصرة على الزواج وبناء أسرة وإنجاب أولاد.

وتتمنى أن يكونوا بنات لأنها تحب البنات أكثر من الأولاد. وعن الرجل في حياتها قالت: عندما يتقدم الإنسان عادة في السن يتطلب مقومات إضافية من الشريك الآخر وأنا لا أتطلب من الرجل الكثير لأنني فقط فنانة.

وأشارت إليسا إلى أن الشهرة لا تزعجها ولا تغيّر من حياتها ولم تأسرها في بيتها “فأنا أعيش حياتي بطريقة عادية”. وفي النهاية أكدت إليسا أنها لا تشغل بالها بالشائعات التي تتناولها لأن ذلك من شأنه أن يضعف مسيرتها الفنية ودائما النجاح مرتبط بالشائعات ولكنها لم تفكر يوما في الرد على منتقديها لأنه أحيانا يكون النقد بناء يفيد الفنان كثيرا عكس المدح.

“وأنا سعيدة لأن جمهوري أطلق عليّ لقب مطربة الحب ولذلك أنا مصممة على أن أفجر كل طاقاتي الفنية وأظهر للناس ما بداخلي من مواهب، فأنا لا أطمح للشهرة بقدر الوصول إلى قلب الجمهور.

تحيي النجمة اللبنانية إليسا اليوم حفل "ستار أكاديمي"،والنجم مساري (للمرة الثانية) في هذه الدورة ليل اليوم الجمعة وذلك بوجود طلاب الأكاديمي المتبقين وهم مروى محمد قماح، و كارلو، و شذا.

هذا ومن المتوقع أن يكون الحفل غدا ساخنا جدا حيث يشهد مغادرة إما المصرية سالي، أو العراقية شذا والقرار سوف يكون للجمهور، كما غادر الأكاديمي الحفل السابق السعودي علي السعد، واللبنانية تينا يموت، وذلك بعد حصولهما على اقل نسب تصويت من الجمهور في مقابل المصري محمد قماح، الذي أنقذه الجمهور بحصوله على أعلى نسبة تصويت وتقدر بـ55،61%.

الجدير بالذكر أن حفل الأكاديمي السابق قد شاركت فيه النجمة اللبنانية هيفاء وهبي بأغنيتها " حلم عمري "، حيث شاركتها في أداء الأغنية سالي، كما حضر الحفل المطرب الجزائري الشاب خالد، الذي رافقه كارلو في أغنية " عيشة " أما الطالبة شذى فقد شاركته في أغنية " ماس ولولي"، بالإضافة إلى مجموعة من اللوحات الفنية المميزة التي اشترك فيها الطلاب .

Prominent Lebanese singer Elissa is in Dubai to hold a special performance for the launch of the new line of products by the popular international sunglasses Vogue. The singer has been named the new face of Vogue for the Middle East, and a press conference will be held later on this week at the Emirates Towers Hotel.

The big event is in cooperation with the company Luxottica, which had previously signed with Elissa to be its star for Ray Ban sunglasses. At the event, a photography show that was shot in Milan Italy, will be shown for the singer.

According to the London based Elaph, after the event, Elissa will head off to Kuwait, where she will be participating in the annual music festival 'Hello February', verifying her particpation after numerous rumors that stated otherwise.

Elissa will be holding her concert at the festival on March 7, alongside prominent UAE singer Ahlam, Lebanese singer Fadel Shaker, and young Kuwaiti singer Bashar Al Shati, who was a recent contestant on the popular program Star Academy.

Elissa revealed that presently she does not have time for love or any type of intimate relationship. The singer said that as the sole provider for her family, after the death of her father, she has too much responsibility on her hands to make a real commitment.

Despite the outstanding success of her most recent concert in Egypt for Valentine’s Day at the City Stars Intercontinental Hotel, Lebanese singer Elissa was outraged with the concert agent.

The singer was very angry with the organizer of the event due to the fact that he did not comply with all the conditions of the contract she signed with him. The agent had previously sent Elissa samples of the advertising posters, but upon her arrival she was shocked to see a completely different design of posters in the streets of Cairo.

Elissa has conquered the number one spot at being the most paid for singer to perform on Valentine’s Day with a wage of almost 75 thousand US dollars, the highest wage paid to a singer to perform on the special occasion. The singer was given that amount to perform at the City Stars Intercontinental hotel in Cairo.

Young singer Mohammad Hamaki will be performing alongside Elissa and will be receiving a wage of almost 85 thousand Egyptian pounds.

بأجورهم الخيالية .. عمرو دياب و إليسا يشعلان عيد الحب

بمناسبة الاحتفال بعيد الحب اشتعلت الأجور بين عدد من نجوم الغناء في الوطن العربي، وخاصة بين النجمين عمرو دياب وإليسا التي رفعت أجرها لـ 75 ألف دولار.

هذا وقد تقاضي النجم عمرو دياب مقابل غنائه ساعة واحدة في فندق "فورسيزونز نايل بلازا" في القاهرة نحو 200 ألف جنيه مصري. ومن المقرر أن يغني دياب عدداً من أغاني ألبومه الجديد "خليك معايا" الذي ينوي طرحه في الأسواق الليلة.

كما احتلت المطربة إليسا قمة أجور المغنيات في " عيد الحب" إذ تعاقدت إليسا على إحياء حفلة كبيرة في فندق "سيتي ستارز انتركونيننتال" في القاهرة مقابل نحو 75 ألف دولار، وتعد هذه هي المرة الثانية على التوالي التي تحيي فيها إليسا حفلة "عيد الحب" في مصر، حسبما ورد بصحيفة "الحياة".

ويشارك إليسا في الحفلة المغني الشاب محمد حماقي الذي تقاضى وفرقته الغنائية أجراً يقدر بـ85 ألف جنيه . أما الراقصة الاستعراضية دينا، صاحبة الفقرة الأخيرة في الحفلة ذاتها، فستتقاضى 70 ألف جنيه لتقديم فقرة استعراضية - لن تزيد مدتها على الساعة ونصف.

أما المطرب محمد فؤاد الذي عاد أخيراً الى الساحة الغنائية، فسيحيي حفلا بهذه المناسبة في فندق "جراند حياة" الذي اعتاد ان يغني فيه، مقابل 120 ألف جنيه، وهو الأجر ذاته الذي تقاضاه الفنان اللبناني فضل شاكر الذي تعاقد على حفلة ينظمها أحد نوادي الـ "روتاري" قبل ليلة أمس، في فندق "جي دبليو ماريوت"، على ان يذهب عائد الحفلة وجزء من أجره لصالح "مستشفى سرطان الأطفال" المصري.

وعقب انتهاء أزمة شيرين مع منتجها نصر محروس و "نقابة الموسيقيين" المصريين التي منعتها من الغناء أكثر من 6 أشهر متواصلة، بدأت استعادة نشاطها ولديها عروض عدة لإحياء أكثر من حفلة غنائية للمناسبة، فرفعت أجرها الى 180 ألف جنيه، بعدما كان 110 آلاف سابقاً، ومن المقرر أن تشارك النجم هاني شاكر في حفلة "عيد الحب" بفندق "غراند حياة".

وفي أول ظهور له بعد انتهاء ازمته ويعود اليوم المغني الشاب تامر حسني الى جمهوره مجدداً من خلال الحفلة التي تنظمها محطة "ميلودي" الفضائية وشركة "فوادفون" معاً، وذلك بعد أكثر من 8 أشهر ابتعد فيها عن عالم الحفلات بسبب دخوله السجن على خلفية تهربه من أداء الخدمة العسكرية. ورفع حسني أجره الى 140 ألف جنيه. ومن المقرر أن تبدأ الحفلة التي تقام في الحديقة الصينية بمدينة نصر، في السابعة والنصف مساء اليوم، وتنتهي قبل الحادية عشرة مساء، حسب اتفاقه مع الوحدة العسكرية التي يقضي فيها حالياً فترة تجنيده.

النجمة الجميلة اليسا تشارك في اسبوع الموضة الباريسي

سافرت النجمة إليسا إلى فرنسا لحضور "أسبوع الموضة الباريسي"، وكعادتها حضرت عرض أزياء المصمم الللبناني العالمي إيلي صعب وعدداً آخراً من عروض الدور العالمية. وقالت إليسا: "عادةً أحرص على المشاركة في هذا الأسبوع لحضور عرض الصديق إيلي صعب الذي أفتخر أنه لبنانيّ". كما اغتنمت الفرصة لتقوم بالتسوّق في العاصمة الباريسية.

بعدها أحيّت إليسا "مهرجان الشاطئ" في سلطنة عُمان، والذي تشارك فيه للمرة الثانية، وقد حضر المهرجان "أكثر من 168 ألف شخص"، على حسب ما ذكرت جريدة "الوطن".إليسا ستلتقي جمهورها المصري يوم عيد الحب في "سيتي ستار"- فندق "انتركونتيننتال" في مصر نهار الأربعاء 14 شباط، بعدها ستتجه مباشرةً إلى دبي لتحيي مع الفنّان وائل كفوري في فندق "ستار روتانا" حفلة عيد الحب نهار الخميس الواقع فيه 15 شباط، وفي 22 شباط، ستقدّم حفلة خاصة في البحرين لصالح "Young president organization". من جهة ثانية نفت إليسا ما يشاع عن مشاركتها في مهرجان "هلا فبراير"، وأشارت أنّها لم تتلقّ دعوة للمشاركة.

خرجت المطربة اللبنانية إليسا عن صمتها ودافعت عن نفسها بشأن اتهامها برشوة المسئولين عن جائزة "الميوزك أوورد" لكي تحصل عليها عام 2006.

وقالت شيماء إبراهيم المستشارة الإعلامية لإليسا في تصريح خاص لموقع FilFan.com : "إليسا تحترم المطرب حسين الجسمي كثيراً ، رغم قوله إن المسئولين عن الجائزة طلبوا منه مليون دولار لمنحه الجائزة لحصوله على أعلى نسبة توزيع ألبومات ، تم تم تخفيفها إلى 350 ألف دولار ليرفض في النهاية الأمر برمته".

وتابعت شيماء : "إن لجنة التحكيم الخاصة بالجائزة محايدة ، وتضم فنانين وموسيقيين عالميين إلى جانب فنان عربي واحد ، وهى جائزة غير مدفوعة وتستند على احصائيات شركة "إي إم آي" EMI لمبيعات الشرق الأوسط ، وحسين الجسمى لم يكن أعلى توزيع على مستوى الوطن العربى ، ولكنه كان الأعلى على مستوى دول الخليج ، وهذا ما أكده سالم الهندي المدير الإقليمي لشركة "روتانا" منتجة ألبومي إليسا والجسمي".

وكانت إليسا قد حصلت على جائزة "الميوزك أوورد" عن تحقيق ألبومها الأخير "بستناك" أعلى مبيعات في الوطن العربي عام 2006 ، كما كانت قد حصلت عليها عام 2005 عن مبيعات ألبومها "أحلى دنيا".

تستعد المطربة اللبنانية إليسا لتصوير الدويتو الجديد (حليلي دنيايا) الذي شاركها الغناء فيه الشاب مامي وطرحه المطرب الجزائري في ألبومه ، كما تعتزم إليسا إيضاً طرحه في ألبومها الجديد.

وتذاع الأغنية حالياً على إذاعة نجوم. اف. ام ، ويعد هذا ثاني دويتو تقوم به النجمة خلال مشوارها الفني حيث شاركت منذ فترة المطرب اللبناني راغب علامة في دويتو (بتغيب) والتي كان سبب شهرتها في الوطن العربي.

رغم حصول المطربة اللبنانية إليسا علي جائزة الميوزيك أورلد للمرة الثانية علي التوالي لتصبح المطربة العربية الوحيدة التي حصلت عليها مرتين،

فإنها فضلت الاختفاء تماماً بعد أن تسلمت الجائزة ورفضت الاحتفال أو حتي عقد مؤتمر صحفي في مصر أو لبنان مثلما فعلت العام الماضي بعد الحملة الشرسة التي أثيرت ضدها،

خاصة مع تصريحات حسين الجاسمي بأن الجائزة مباعة، اختفاء إليسا بدأته بالصمت ورفض الحوارات الصحفية وإحياء حفل رأس السنة في لندن للجاليات العربية،

وبعد فترة اعتكاف طويلة قررت إليسا العودة مرة أخري للساحة الفنية بقوة بعد أن أعدت خطة العودة وجدولاً متخماً بالحفلات الخاصة والعامة وتصوير إعلانات وكليبات والإعداد لألبومها حتي تلحق موسم الصيف.

بدأت إليسا جولتها بالسفر إلي فرنسا لحضور عرض أزياء مصمم الأزياء العالمي إيلي صعب وكعادتها حضرت أسبوع الموضة الباريسية واستقرت إليسا بشكل نهائي علي تصوير أغنية «لو تعرفوه» فيديو كليب ونفت ما أشيع مؤخراً عن تصويرها الأغنية مع المخرج «أميل سليلاتي»

وأكدت أنها سوف تستعين بمخرج أجنبي لتصوير الأغنية التي تؤكد أنها ستقدم بشكل جديد ومعاصر علي مستوي التصوير والإخراج واللوك الجديد الذي تظهر به من خلال الكليب ومن المقرر أن تبدأ التصوير خلال الشهر المقبل ليتم عرضه عل قناة روتانا بداية شهر مارس المقبل،

كما تستعد إليسا لاختيار كلمات وألحان ألبومها الجديد المقرر طرحه الصيف المقبل وتصل إليسا للقاهرة خلال الفترة المقبلة لاختيار كلمات وألحان الألبوم عن طريق المنتج الفني «سعيد إمام»،

والذي تعاون معها في ألبومها الأخير «بستناك» ويعتبر ألبوم إليسا الجديد هو الألبوم الثالث لها مع روتانا وبه ينتهي عقدها، ولكن إليسا حجزت مقعداً دائماً لها في روتانا نظراً لتحقيقها نسبة مبيعات عالية.

أما علي مستوي الحفلات فمن المقرر أن تشارك إليسا في مهرجان «الشاطئ» بعمان في نهاية يناير الجاري وسبق لإليسا أن شاركت فيه لتعود بعد ذلك إلي لبنان لإحياء إحدي الحفلات الخاصة وقد وصل أجر إليسا إلي ٥٠ ألف دولار في آخر حفلاتها التي شاركت فيها.

وقالت الإذاعة إن الاستطلاع هو الأكبر والأول في سوريا .ووفقاً للمدينة اف ام جاءت الفنانة اللبنانية إليسا في المرتبة الأولي عن فئة أفضل مطربة عربية بنسبة 37%، وحاز جورج وسوف علي المرتبة الأولي عن فئة أفضل مطرب عربي بنسبة 43% من إجمالي أصوات المشاركين في التصويت.

ونال أيضاً المرتبة الأولي عن فئة نجم سوريا لعام 2006 بنسبة 53%، فيما حصلت المطربة أصالة علي لقب نجمة سوريا لعام 2006 بنسبة 66%.أما أجمل كليب فكان إحساس جديد لنانسي عجرم بنسبة 29% من إجمالي الأصوات، فيما حاز ألبوم إليسا بستناك علي المرتبة الأولي كأكثر الألبومات مبيعاً لعام 2006.

وجاء ألبوم هي الأيام لجورج وسوف في المرتبة الثانية، وألبوم حياتي للمطربة أصالة في المرتبة الثالثة، وألبوم نانسي عجرم يا طبطب في المرتبة الرابعة، وألبوم فضل شاكر الله أعلم في المرتبة الخامسة.وعن فئة أجمل أغنية صوت المشاركون، علي ذمة المدينة اف ام، لصالح أغنية المطربة أصالة أكتر ، وتلتها أغنية حبك عذاب للمطرب اللبناني وائل كفوري، فأغنية لو تعرفوه لإليسا أيضاً، ثم يا حبيبي لجورج وسوف.

Elissa films clip for a second time

Elissa is preparing to film the music video for the song “Lao Ta’rafouh” (If You Knew Him) for a second time. The singer had previously filmed a clip for the song under the direction of Salim Turk, but was unsatisfied with the outcome and so decided to redo it once more.

Elissa had requested that production company ‘Rotana’ not air the video for the song stating that it is not up to her standards.

Elissa announced that she will no longer work with directors Salim or Saeed Al Marouq after both men publicly criticized the singer and never apologized.

The singer revealed that she will be working with a foreign director and is also considering filming a music video for the song “Kirmalak” (For You), which is written and composed by singer Marwan Kkoury.

Elissa is currently holding work sessions to prepare for her upcoming album produced by ‘Rotana,’ to be released in the summer of 2007.

On a different note, after her cooperation with the company Luxottica by doing commercials for Ray Ban sunglasses, Elissa has become the new face of Vogue sunglasses, which are part of the same company.

Elissa headed off to Milan Italy to film a special ad for Vogue with Italian photographer Carlo Miari Folcerz, who had previously filmed international stars like George Clooney and David Beckham.

The singer stated that Vogue is new international product and she is proud to be the new representative for them in the Middle East and North Africa.

تقول النجمة اليسا " اهتم كثيرا بمتابعة كل جديد في مجال الموضة ، لكن في النهاية

اختار ما يناسب ذوقي الخاص حتى في الحفلات والمهرجانات ، لا اسمح لاحد ان يفرض علي أي شيء لا اجد نفسي فيه ، لاني اقتنع ان الملابس جزء مهم يعكس شخصية الانسان وخصوصا اذا كان هذا الانسان شخصية مشهورة وفنانا يقلده بعض جمهوره .

لذلك احرص على ان اكون قدوة وواجهة لبنات جيلي. وهذا ليس شيئا سهلا, لذلك "الشوبينج" شيء اساسي في حياتي وافضل الاماكن بالنسبة لي هي باريس بلد الموضة والجمال . اما ماركتي المفضلة فهي "كريستيان ديور" ، ايضا افضل ديور في النظارات الشمسية.

وفي حياتي العادية افضل ارتداء الجينز والملابس "الكاجوال" من ماركات " دولشي جابانا" و"دي.جي".

الكثيرون منا لاحظوا العلاقة الحميمة بين اليسا ووائل كفوري حيث اللقاءات الكثيرة في كافيتريات ومطاعم , لدرجة ظن البعض انهما في حالة حب حقيقية .. ولكن اليسا تقول لا تربطني بوائل علاقة حب , ولكن رغم ذلك انا احبه كصديق.

تقول اليسا : " وائل انسان طيب جدا وشبعان وصادق وليس خبيثا , لا يغار , ولديه ثقة كبيرة بنفسه ناهيك عن الموهبة الفنية الكبيرة التي يمتلكها . وأنا دوما عندما أحيي حفلات بالإضافة لأغنياتي أقدم أغاني لوائل وللفنان فضل شاكر لأنهما يشبهانني بنوع الأغاني التي نختارها. كما وأحب أن نكون سوياً في الحفلات. وقلما نرى فنانا يطل في مشهد مماثل كما فعل وائل في فيديو كليب لو تعرفوه , وقدّم لي وروداً. فهذه هي قوة وائل ودلالة على مدى ثقته بنفسه.

وعن عمر صداقتهم , تجيب اليسا : " نحن على معرفة وطيدة منذ سنوات طويلة، منذ أن كنا مشتركين في برنامج
"استوديو الفن". وبمرور الوقت توطدت صداقتنا. وكان وائل يوصلني بسيارته الى مسرح Théâtre de 10 heures، مسرح الساعة العاشرة حيث كنت أمثل في فرقة "الشانسونييه" مع الممثل الراحل وسيم طبارة. ولم تنقطع لقاءاتنا بمرور الوقت.

وهل تطلعينه على أسرارك الخاصة ؟ .. تقول اليسا :

"لا. ليس الى هذه الدرجة. هو صديقي فقط. ومؤخرا لبى دعوتي الى العشاء بمناسبة عيد مولدي الذي احتفلت به مع عدد من الأصدقاء خارج المنزل".

بعدما قامت بإبلاغ (روتانا) بعدم رغبتها في عرض كليب (لو تعرفوه) للمخرج سليم ترك لإنه وكما وصفته دون المستوى الفني، أعلنت النجمة اللبنانية إليسا أنها قررت عدم التعامل مع كل من المخرج سليم ترك، وكذلك المخرج سعيد الماروق الذي انتقدها في وسائل الإعلام ولم يعتذر لها، وأيضاً الملحن جان صليبا الذي قررت خلعه بعد أن صرح لوسائل الإعلام عدم رغبته في التعامل معها، معلناً تبنيه للمغنية ميليسا التي تحاول تقليد اليسا، حسب صحيفة البيان..

من جهة أخرى، بدأت إليسا عقد جلسات عمل لتحضير ألبومها الجديد مع شركة (روتانا) المقرر طرحه في موسم صيف عام 2007

وقال المؤلف والملحن محمد الرفاعي انه تنازل بالفعل عن ثلاث أغاني قام بتأليفهم إلى إليسا ، وتم الاتفاق عليهم أثناء تواجدها مؤخراً في مصر.

إليسا سافرت إلى ميلانو- إيطاليا لتصوير الإعلان الفوتوغرافي الخاص بالنظارات الشمسيّة، مع المصوّر الإيطالي العالمي كارلو مياري فولسيز الذي سبق له أن صوّر نجوم عالميين منهم جورج كلوني وديفيد بيكهام وذلك خلال يوم كامل في أحد استوديوهات ميلانو.

وتقول إليسا: " Vogue منتوج عالمي جديد أفخر أن أكون الصورة الإعلانية له في الشرق الأوسط والدول العربية والمغرب العربي".

من ناحية أخرى، وقعت إليسا مع شركة فرنسية عالمية من أجل المنتج العالمي الذي يحمل اسمها والذي سبق لها أن أعلنت عنه سابقاً.

وفي سياق أخر، ستلتقي إليسا جمهورها في البحرين في فندق "الخليج" يوم الأربعاء الواقع فيه 3 كانون الثاني 2007.

In the presence of Mr. Salem Al Hindi, President of the music production company Rotana, and in the presence of the Lebanese media, Rotana organized a special honoring ceremony for Lebanese singer Elissa.

According to the Qatar based daily, Al Raya, the celebration was for the great achievement the singer achieved when she was presented with an award at the World Music Awards 2006 for being the number one Arab artist.

“Our message as artist is to sing beauty, freedom and love” these were the words that Elissa expressed her honor at winning an award for the second time at the World Music Awards 2006 as the Best Arab artist for her latest album “Bastanak” (I’m Waiting for You).

Elissa’s album received the highest sales throughout the Middle East and North Africa region, marking her second time, the first being last year with the album “Hubbak Waja” (Your Love is Painful).

With this victory, Elissa is considered to be the only Lebanese to win the award. The singer is portrayed as having reached international fame with her unique style that in no way resembles that of other singers.

Elissa said while giving her acceptance speech at the event in London that she is very happy and honored at receiving the prize for a second time in a two-year time and presented the award to her country Lebanon and its people, who has suffered so much in the recent months.

She also dedicated the award to her late father and family, in addition to HRH Prince Al Waleed Bin Talal, owner of Rotana, and everyone who has backed her throughout her career.

Elissa’s album “Bastanak” sales reached as high as 350 thousand albums, indicating a decrease in the number of album sales for the singer compared to last year by 100 thousands.
