What were you doing 24 years ago today??? I was watching Live Aid all day long. It was for Ethiopian hunger relief. That was the summer that I was OBSESSED with Madonna. I taped all of her songs off the radio on to one tape and played them over and over. Borderline being the favorite. Still is. And hasn't my world come full circle. In the next year I will be going to Ethiopia to adopt one of those beautiful children. Madonna and I have always loved Africa.

I don't recommend the kidney stones.

This photo is just fun. My scrappin friends. It looks better in black and white...but I'm having some trouble with my new installation of photoshop. Need time to work on it.

So I went to the hospital on Sunday...and after many tries to find my stupid little veins by poking my freakin arms a gazillion times...and giving me 2 huge glasses of some white chalky citrus drink and nausea medicine...and apparently morphine...me passing out in the hospital...I apparently had a kidney stone. Felt better the next day...but the 3 leading up to Sunday sucked. I think I'm a riot in the hospital though...I was asking the doctor if I was in 'Nam and to hit me again with the morphine. Obviously I'm feeling fine now.

Outside my window...The sun is shining and it looks like it is going to be warmer than it has been.

I am thinking...that I need to probably go to the doctor to have this pain in my side taken care of.

I am thankful for...new windows tomorrow.

Around the house...it's semi-clean as we prepare for windows and some renovation to the kitchen.

One of my favorite things...is catching up on some movies like The Family that Prey's and Tropic Thunder.

A few plans for the rest of the week...Hoping I feel better because we need to work on the kitchen.

I've already finished a couple of books off the summer reading list...this was one of them. Very good.
And I can't wait to go to this world....Alice in Wonderland...with Johnny Depp and Tim Burton...be still my heart.

I need to get my Florida girls weekend pics up soon. It was a really great time.

I'm pretty sure I have an addiction to this place. Polar pineapple is my fave.

I've had enough of these things!! It sucks to live by the lake for a few weeks out of the year when the midges come out. They cover the outside of our house and swarm you when you go outside. They will be gone soon. And I will be happy.
I have been scrapping.
My summer reading list....keeps expanding. This is what I have so far. Can't wait to dig in.
Today was my last day of school!! I shall rejoice and take a nap. I might go see the movie "UP" tonight. If not tonight, then sometime this week.

Been super busy lately and counting down the days until school is out. Can't wait for the summer. Went to the Indians game on Sunday. They lost. Hate when the Tribe sucks.

Been chillin with my favorite girl in the world. She looks so sweet here. We've been catching up on some shows. I'm super behind on Grey's and Heroes and Fringe. Tonight is the Lost finale. I'm so excited. Who wants Sawyer and Juliette to be together? (me, me!!!) My favorite line from last week was of course Ben "What John, do you think I'll stage a coup while your gone".
Last weekend we went to Cinci and ran in the Flying Pig Marathon. All the cousins did the relay. My part was 6.5 miles. It wasn't bad at all. It was fun to hang with everyone.

Making stuff from thrift store finds.
Patti Lapone and Mandy Patinkin. Kind of boring, but Patti can sing her Arse off.
They are putting a bubble tea and snow cone place in down the street. Sweet.

All of this fun stuff at Target makes me want to garden.

I made this shirt for Earth Day. I found the shirt at the thrift store and added the letters with fabric that I got from Laina's mom. I also wore it with a few earth friendly buttons.

I made this cute little fabric added onesie for a sweet girl I know, but she is already too big for it...have to give it to someone else. I got the idea from my favorite girls at Stitch Cleveland.
Found these fun signs in the Target dollar spot. They'll be up in my classroom.

I love when I find new things to add to my things to do in life list. I added one today. I want to be part of a flash mob. They make me laugh. I haven't seen one in real life, but I love to watch them on youtube. And I am completely in love with improv everywhere. Look them up.

One of my Wreck This Journal pages is going to be hard. It is postage from letters I get. I don't get any letters, so if anyone wants to send me mail....

I thought Adam Lambert was so fantastic on Tuesdays American Idol. I love that song...but it makes me sad.

That's all. Just wanted to post something. Happy 4 day weekend. Go Tribe.

I saw a few more movies at the Cleveland International Film Festival this week. Thanks Karen for the passes and the good times! We went to see "The END of the World As We Knew It". Anyone who was around Cleveland in the 90's remembers waking up and hearing the R.E.M song playing for 24 hours straight. So this guy made a documentary about 107.9 The END. It brought back college memories, especially going to the first END Fest and getting pulled over with Stephanie and Kelly. I loved The END and it was really cool that they had some of the original DJs in the audience and answering questions. It is really sad how radio went down the tubes because of corporate buy out. Cleveland International Film Festival

I saw two of the movies at the CIFF today. Prom Night in Mississippi was GREAT! How did a school have a segregated prom until 2008? Well done. The director and producer were there to answer questions. Check it out on HBO next month. Children of Invention was also GREAT. I love going to film festivals. Plan on checking out a few more shows this week. I'm on Spring Break, so I'll be hanging out all week.

Spring Awakening

This weekend was super busy. Saturday afternoon I went to see Spring Awakening. Thought it was fabulous. The music is so great. It is not for children just in case you were thinking of bringing kids.

I fell in love with the character of Moritz. Blake Bashoff played him. He was absolutely fabulous. All of my LOST fans would know him as Karl.
Getting Caught Up:

Went bowling Friday for scholarship fundraiser.
Scrapped with a bunch of ladies on Saturday night. I didn't do a whole lot.
Sunday was my niece's birthday. Always good to eat ice cream cake.
Had to go home sick today. I hate being sick.

Busy doing nothing.

Took some photos of the my BFF last week. Waiting for this sweet little girl to arrive.

Our computer has crashed. We're hoping to get it fixed. For now I'm using my laptop from school, which is hard to use for photos because the software is not great. I don't have a scanner hooked up, or any of my photos or music available. I'm hoping they are not gone for good. That's why I haven't been blogging a lot.

So here's what I am loving right now:

Lost. It's religious themes are so well written. Who the heck beat Ben up? Is John suppose to be Jesus like?
Heroes. Getting very good. Have I mentioned that I love Sylar?
Trader Joe's Very Green juice blend. Looks like crap, tastes amazing. It's got algae in it.
Zumba. I have such a blast when I go. I'm starting to get the routines down, which makes it even more fun. Went on a Friday night. I officially have no life!
Qdoba food. It's an addiction.
I haven't drank pop in 3 weeks.
Having all weekend free.

First week of February...Nothing going on.

This is Lee. I met with Mara this week for some dinner and she brought me her sweet Cabbage Patch doll. I think it's the sweetest gift ever. He does have a few scratches, but that just gives him character. I think it's even funnier that she walked into the restaurant before I got there and asked for a table for two and she had to say not for me and the doll.
The hubs and I went and saw Coraline today. We both thought it was very good. I advise if you have kids you might want to think twice about taking them. It's very dark. Very emo child.
Other random thoughts:

I can't wait for Star Trek to come out. I'm so excited. I love Zachary Quinto (Spock and Sylar on Heroes)
I was not overly crafty this week, but I thought about being crafty, which counts.
I went a whole week without pop (soda for the rest of the world).
I've picked my favorite for American Idol...hope he makes it to the next round.

Last week of January

I didn't post for the last week of January. So I'm gonna catch up. A lot of ladies met on a cold afternoon for a little "hooky scrapping". It was a lot of fun hanging with all the girlies. Marie was in town, always an excuse to get together. Aren't Marie and Missy the cutest.

We had a snow day. It was crazy snowing and I stayed home and caught up with a bunch of cleaning and watching shows. Perfect.
And look at this little purse I made! I took a couple of sewing classes so I could learn to read patterns (much harder than it sounds). I LOVE the material and I love going to Stitch Cleveland. The ladies are so sweet and creative. So now I'm gonna try to make the bigger version of this. And check out their website...Heidi (the owner) is making this quilt that is amazing. I'm gonna copy it. Yes. That's right. I said it. I'm gonna make a quilt.
Randomness this week:

What the heck? Charles Widmore is an other?
Really enjoying reading Wally Lamb "The Hour I First Believed". Nowhere near finished.
Sweet Spuds closed. That sucks. I loved being a part of their DT.
I'm not designing for Scrapmojo either. I loved being a part of it, too, but I've been there a year and it's time to move on to some other projects.
I feel as if it's a really good time for me. I like learning new things and starting fresh.

Historical Week

This week was incredible. Watching the inauguration was a defining moment of my life. It was amazing to see the number of people and the emotions that were expressed. This is a photo of me while watching it at school. Lucky it was exam week and I was done for the day.

Slumdog Millionaire was really really really good. The poop scene is beyond memorable.
I really have to give up soda. I do. The time is now.
I'm only blogging once a week. I think I can do that. I've been doing a good job so far.

Here's a new WTJ page...I hand stitched with some embroidery floss.

I did this little wall hanging for above my CD's. I used the Sweet Spuds January kit. It came with an album cover that I cut up.
This photo was taken in the Bed Bath and Beyond last night...we were off to see a movie, but everything was sold out, so we went into BB&B to get out of the cold and ended up sitting in the massage chairs for about 30 minutes. This is me having way to much fun in the chair.
My BFF had a surprise baby shower at a dinner theater last week...isn't she gorgeous?
I'm very excited about the inauguration this week and thought I would leave with a quote that's up in my class.

Just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas (If that's what you celebrate...).
We'll be spending the holiday with family...I'm really excited to hang out with everyone! Tonight of course, we spent the evening with friends watching "A Christmas Story". It makes my heart happy.

Can't Believe...

Yes...I can't believe that it's been almost 2 weeks since I've blogged...not sure if anyone reads this thing anyway! But I also can't believe that next week is Christmas! I also can't believe that this months Sweet Spuds kit was so freakin amazing and this is all I had the time to do. I will get some more done...and hopefully take LOTS of photos over break. So many people to see and fun things to do. I haven't been feeling very creative or very festive...hope that changes.

A month ago today I decided to become a vegetarian. I did this page for the Scrapmojo challenge which was to express yourself or take a stand...whatever.
I saw 'Twilight' today. I wasn't disappointed because I did not have super high expectations. It was better than I thought it would be. The characters were not disappointing. I liked Edward way better than I thought I would. I look forward to the second one. New Moon was a little more exciting, so it will be really good. Have a great weekend!
