The much anticipated 2009 Nordstrom Anniversary sale starts today, July 17th. Every year Nordstrom works with top designers to offer the latest in fall fashion at incredible prices for only a two week period in July. It’s rare for any sale items on hot fashion items to be left when the event is over, but if there are, items are marked back to full price.The sale features six Corky coats, but only two are online in infant sizes as shown below.

From July 17th to August 2nd the Corky Coats pictured here are going to be on sale at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. How can anyone know sun protection better than an Australian designed company like Baby Banz? Admittedly in Pennsylvania it's a problem we deal with for a few short months of the year. But I recently had the opportunity to check out the Baby Banz bucket hats and can tell they know how to protect kids from the sun's harmful rays. With an extra wide brim and a UPF rating of 50+, my son's camouflage hat is also adorable with an underside fabric which looks like the tropical paradise in which I wish I lived. Best yet, like my favorite baby bibs, the hats are machine washable. Protecting our kids from the sun's harmful rays is easier with products like Baby Banz sunglasses and wrapz, but the bucket hats, are my favorite as an essential part of kids' summer wardrobe. Fergus Ferry: An Australian Adventure the Kids Will Love

I reviewed the Fergus Ferry Box Set of Books 1-6. These books are delightful, rhyming, animated stories about a ship's adventure in Australia. Fergus Ferry is a ship and its always rushing to save the day! My three year old daughter loved looking at the pictures and reciting the rhymes. We enjoyed all of the books in the set but our favorite was "Fergus Makes a Difference". In this exciting story Fergus helps both an oil tanker and a tug boat. The Fergus Ferry website has excellent age appropriate resources for children as well. The site provides coloring, games, and a sneak peak at the books and is fun to navigate around as you learn facts about Australia. The interactive adventure is just as fun as the book series itself, and I would definitely recommend both.

Waboba Ball: Water Fun for the Entire Family

Vat19, Purveyors of Curiously Awesome Products, brings us one awesome product without an assuredly curious name, Waboba Ball. A pretty cool ball that bounces on water, we recently tried it out in the pool and sure enough, just like the video shows, it bounces around in the pool as if it were concrete. Getting the technique down to make it bounce super high is no kids play, but the kids had fun just watching it bounce around and throwing it at each other (yikes). When floating around gets boring the Waboba ball spices it up a bit in the water. Take it with you to the lake or ocean and amaze onlookers with the handy little product. For now it's our new favorite thing to do in the pool!

Kidorable Raingear for Kids: What We Love Right Now

Cool Baby Kid readers can always see what we love right now by checking out the sidebar under that title. These items include products we are currently using ourselves that are favorites of ours. The newest addition to "What We Love Right Now" is Kidorable; the name fits! The most adorable raingear for kids including coats, umbrellas and boots with themes such as ladybug, fireman, dolphin or frog, Kidorable is cutter than anything you've seen at a local department store. Specializing in kids raincoats and childrens raingear, they also carry (which is top on my list for winter) knitwear with the same super cute patterns.

My son's new pirate raingear was an instant his at the caregiver's with his little pirate flag sticking out the top of the new umbrella. Luckily it rained the very next day after we received the set; likely I would have made him wear it anyway. The pirate hood/hat and sword-like handle on the umbrella are my favorite touches. Table Topper by Neat Solutions: A Young Toddler Must Have

After using the Table Topper from Neat Solutions I kicked myself...twice. I'd seen them in my second home since having a baby (Babies R Us) but never purchased them. A plastic table topper which adheres to the table via sticky strips, I could see its value for dining out with a toddler. But since they are expendable, and we dine out a fair amount, I imagined having to re-purchasing them too often for my liking. Big mistake. I spent much of my daughter's babyhood scrubbing dirty tables with antibacterial wipes and still feeling uncomfortable at her eating off the table or convincing myself she was ready for a plate when, of course, this was not the case. *Crash* Not so with baby #2. This time I take out the Table Topper, watch my son eat without worrying about germs, and then repacking the topper for a 2nd and or 3rd use. Yes, they are re-usable! And because I wish someone told me sooner to use these, I'm doing you that favor. Use Table Topper every time you dine out and the plate will no longer be used like a Frisbee.

Melissa & Doug: Our Favorite Puzzle Pick {+ Giveaway}

If you've been a parent or grandparent for any length of time you already know about Melissa and Doug. Educational toy designer and manufacturer, the husband and wife team have been designing puzzles, plush toys, arts and crafts for over twenty years. I recently had an opportunity to test out one of their classic Messlia & Doug wooden puzzles, the Large Farm Jumbo Knob Pu zzle which is perfect starter puzzle for one year olds and up. My son who is 14 months was extremely proud to have a puzzle he could navigate on his own, and his big toddler sister was happy to make the animal sounds too. (This was pre-throwing the puzzle pieces and big sis grabbing them while saying her new favorite word..."Mine!") Educational toys always make me happy, and I could actually see my son's brain at work trying to put these easy to grab pieces together. My own personal future purchase will include puzzle storage as I look for a way to get our growing puzzle collection in order.
