Problems with 3-party software and mailing
Sf.net has turned off the mailing from the server. Since sf.net has disable the maling the services on our web page have not an optimal functionality. Mail notifcation from phpBB and bugzilla isn't sent. We are now switching to another host for these services. In mean time be patient.

Well...since it seems that people will actually use it (I'm still sceptical, but...), I opened a paypal account at j_s@telia.com [Click this: https://www.paypal.com/xclick/business=j_s%40telia.com&item_name=DC%2B%2B&no_shipping=1&cn=DC%2B%2B+forum+nick+or+greeting ]. So, if you want to make a donation (for some strange reason I probably will never understand...) to me (No, it will not be split between the other dc++ team members...it goes straight down my beer pocket =), go to paypal and enter that address...oh, and if you sign up for a new paypal acct, set that email as referrer, and I think I'll get $5...hm, perhaps I should open up a special request group on the forum for members who make sizeable donations =)....

Also, my intention is to keep dc++ 100% (ad, spam, $$$, etc.) free, as my main objectives with dc++ are to polish my c++ a little bit and because I happen to like programming...and because it would really be stupid to sit on a good piece of software and keep it to myself, when I have nothing to lose by giving it out...oh, and last, but not least, because the sloppy coding of nmdc really annoyed me...=) (6 comments)

Debug build avaible if you have problems with crashes!
If you have problems with random crashes, you might want to try the debug build of DC++...it will generate detailed bug reports that will help me find your problem (see the readme included)... (2 comments)

ApexDC++ Revealed!
We promised to reveal the logo and features behind ApexDC++ standard edition a few days ago, and here they are. We have a couple of images to show you first, which are the logo and splash screen:

Both logos will be available in the program. One will act as the main icon and the other will be displayed on a new private message.

That's not all we're showing off today. We have been working on the website to prepare a tour of the program, which provide screenshots and features available in the current alpha versions available to donators and testers. Along with the tour page, we've got two other pages to show you. Our links page provides you with our recommended sites, including affiliates and other decent DC++ clients. The second page is our staff page with a list of administrators, developers and testers. Come find out what each staff member does at this site!

As most people will know, StrongDC++ 2.x was released recently. We're hard at work producing new features ApexDC++ based on this and it shouldn't be long now until you're using a ApexDC++ build. Keep checking back for more updates on this. In the meantime, why not comment on the latest images previewed in this announcement?

Released: ApexDC++ 0.1.0 (Preview 1)
It's finally here. After months of development we have released ApexDC++ 0.1.0, the first preview release towards 1.0.0. This preview release is intended to show off the features available in ApexDC++. We still plan on introducing many more features in preview 2 before releasing our stable 1.0.0 version.

1. PeerGuardian: You need to download the plugin and extract it to your program directory, then enable it in settings. Note: You do not need any PeerGardian software installed.
2. Foobar2000 users: If you want to press /w and show what music you're listening to, download this component.
3. Country flags: To show country flags next to users in the transfer window, go to Help > GeoIP database in ApexDC++ and place in your /Settings folder. Restart client.

If you have problems with random crashes, you might want to try the debug build of DC++...it will generate detailed bug reports that will help me find your problem (see the readme included)... (2 comments)

Sf.net has turned off the mailing from the server. Since sf.net has disable the maling the services on our web page have not an optimal functionality. Mail notifcation from phpBB and bugzilla isn't sent. We are now switching to another host for these services. In mean time be patient.

DC++ Weather report - dark and cloudy...
DC++ development is rather slow right now, partially because the real weather's all too good, partially because I've been toying around with a hub for a while, and now, because my development computer died the horrible I've-lost-my-bios-and-can't boot...and I can't afford to get it fixed right now, it needs a new motherboard (that's 1000 $/ + VAT) according to the compaq armada m300 support...so now, I'm even unable to reply to the interesting mails I get (i can still read them now and then, but writing is really a hassle...)...so if you feel you've written an interesting mail (patches of good features, fixes for bugs and so on), you'll get an answer when I get my little pet fixed...(if I get it fixed, that's bloody expensive...) New homepage!
Ok, after months and months of waiting, the new homepage is finally up! Go tell the guys at vinna (pm escapade on the forum or sourceforge) who made it what you think about it...I'm happy because it has a nice admin interface for new releases etc meaning less administrativia for me, and you should be happy because it should be easier to find what you want with the new menus and things...
