P is Wife of H. For us (H,P,R,Pr and Me) Sunday treat is Movie, kootanj Sooru, laugh loud by pulling either one of us or someone from office. Last Sunday after a tough time of preparing lunch, we sat for lunch... this incident (accident) happened.

This repeated thrice... and this was disturbing the movie... getting on to every ones nerves.

My first shoot with Shaam. He is been taught with lot of slogans. the best part about kids is their mazhalai... funny pronunciations. Shaam talks alot, it is tought to answer his questions and if he run out of question.. he loops it back, but his mazhalai makes it more interesting.. Check this video of he saying the Raghavendra Slogan. I love the firangi accent in this..

A gift to my dad to keep him busy these days.. Sony DCR-SR62, the Hard Disk model slips into your palm.. this is my first Camcorder, so gonna explore this for the next few days.. On the first go, i liked the docking station, remote, 1MP quality frame and touch sensitive screen, 30GB capacity with 400 to 600 min recording time. Even the Photo taken from it came good. Shot couple of movie with Shaam and Miruthubhashini.. Can any one suggest me a good editing software, Sony doesn't bundle any good s/w with this. The Picture Motion Browser is pathetic. Can somebody

This post was shelved in draft for a long time. It is out today for kavi. Do not get me wrong after reading this. I am just a normal frustrated person that day.

Scene :
Me and H returning to take our bike in KBR park after the morning
A brand new Blue Estilo was parked in the middle of parking entrance, not allowing any car to get in to the parking area.

H : See this bugger, the way he has parked the Car.
Me : *Got *
on seeing the car parked in the middle of parking entrance, not allowing any car to get in to the parking area.
H : Ivanalam namma officela panramathiri pannanum

In our office we have lot of jack *** who park their car in the middle occupying two slot.

H : would write either in the front or rear glass of the car as
"Did you park your brains at home? Guess what you forgot to pick it up"
"Do we hire morons?"
"LKG admissions are open, they also teach driving"

Me : The car was fully mucked up with dust. Wrote "Ass Hole" on the front glass. When i was about to finish the "E". Heard Queek Queek, never realized the sound of car. Turned around tapping my hand dusting out the muck from my hand, a middle aged man came near to the car.
Me : Vidu Jutieeess.. I doubled up towards my bike. Turned around, saw the guy trying to read letter by letter as he was reading from inside... pochuda..

At bike parking area
Lifted bike stand, ignited engine, saw a lady so elegant that morning with beautiful big bindi and a lovely smile blocking my way.

Me : Excuse me aunty
A : Sorry Son
Me : I really liked the aunty's gesture, Good Day aunty
A : you too son.
Me : H took the back seat.. crossed the road.. saw the car stopping by aunty and she hopped in.

Felt embarrassed Awwwww....
what would aunty think of me, though the guy has done mistake. How she would have felt on reading the words... (guess the guy is really dumb.. he drove his car until my sight with the words on the glass.. can't his brain think of whipping with his whipper?)

PS : I do not abuse like this. Something went wrong that day and few discussion the previous day made me to do so. Guess i never woke up my brains that morning.

Every Year, I would go to my home town for Pongal Holidays. But this year decided to spend here in Hyderabad in Goltu istyle.

Sankranti Subhakankshalu.

In Andhra Pradesh, the festival is celebrated with a special color kolam (Rangoli) at their house, cooking food with the harvested rice and flying kites.
On demand prepared sakkarai pongal and Venn Pongal and it did came well.

I actually don't remember my childhood days of flying a kite. Deal, Maanja, pattam yellam nan konjam weak. Avi invited me for celebrating sankranti at his house. tappu tuppu duum was at avi's house by 12 noon. I really enjoyed the day by flying kites. vekkakedu.. learnt to put the thread, flew kite, lost many kites, total TP. Ppl here enjoy the whole day by flying kites. Every one of the house from thatha, paati, Cousin, ladies to kids assembled at mottai maadi. Aaratai, mokkai, loud music, cut others kite and then shout like mad, murruku and seedai are the repeated activites. Finally at around 5 o clock, when the wind was better we decided to fly the dragon kite gifted by ganesh. A huge, pro kite from US. Way back home stopped by necklace road, was zapped to see the whole enthu hyderabhadies flying kite there.. It was an awesome view, were you see thousands of kite flying in different colors at different heights. Different experience, another good day in my life.

Spicy South Indian Shark Hash - Sura Puttu / Non Veg Recipe

This is a post on the ways to cook Sura Puttu (Shark Hash) purely on south indian amma ishtlye.. so Veg ppl take diversion.

posting this not only for my friend, but for Myself as I keep forgetting the procedure and process to cook this dish and then a major line from Amma, dei phone kaasuku nee kadailayae poi sapadalam. [For the money you spend on Telephone, you might as well have at a Restaurant.]

Ingredients :
1. Shark (700gms),
2. Onions (3 big ones)(the more you take, the more the content and the taste),
3. Garlic cloves (handful - same logic as for onions)(Do not use the paste available in the market)
4. Ginger (half the size of little finger)(paste is ok here)
5. others [Turmeric powder, curry leaves, Green chillies, cloves, DalChini, Bay leaves, pepper powder, salt and oil]

Procedure :
1. Boil water in a vessel with water level just to immerse the shark in it. Once it starts to boil, drop the cleaned (with turmeric and salt) shark and let it get cooked for 10min with the lid closed. 10 min is sufficient, peel the skin (just like potato peeling - Easy one). Do not leave it in water for a longer time as it would make the puttu as a paste. Remove the inner middle bone, shred and smash the shark flesh with pepper powder (red chilli powder can also be used), turmeric and salt.
2. Vessel + oil + burner on, season the oil with cloves, DalChini, Bayleaves, green Chilli, curry leave. Awesome smell it would be at this time.
3. Add the onions to fry, add the garlic and ginger smashed in mixie. Fry to golden color.
4. Add the smashed shark, keep frying for 5 mins until, the smell of turmeric disapears

Ready!!

Heaven it would be when Servered for a Sambar or hot Tomato Rasam.
Server hot with love and affection on a banana leaf. If your guest is a fish lover and a big lazy *** like me, sure they would love it.

Jarugandi Jarugandi - Yup this is the Tirupati Trip Travelogue.

In Short the trip started at Nanganallur (Anchi), Tada Falls, Srikalahasthi (Eeshwar), Tirupati, Chandragiri Fort, Kanipakkam (Pilliayar Appan), Tirumala (Venky), Srinivasa Mangapuram (Elder Venky), Talakona Falls.

Rule : I will select one place of my choice for each place of visit by my parents.

Nanganallur : (15th Dec) Daddy and Amma Came to Nanaganallur. Me, Sis and Sham joined them to visit Anjaneya. We lived there few years before, place has changed a lot. Nostalgic!! reminds me of lot many incidents. Prasadam at this place is awesome :p.

Tada Falls : Back on NH7(3pm), Steered to Tada falls. The Falls is actually 20 km from Tada. Reached the foot hills by 5PM. Environment wasn't favoring, have to drop the plan.
Points to Remember: Go in a Group, you need to drive on ~3km of rough road (actually no road) to reach the stream, then would need to trek for 5km to reach the Waterfall.

Srikalahasthi : This place is famous for the Rahu Kethu Sarva Dosha Nivarna Pooja. If you are planning to visit tirupati, Pilgrim can get their darshan booking here itself. One round of night darshan and me started clicking some shots. Asusual amma behind me pothum da yara thitaporanga.
Ko(matha) Puja : Woke up early morning to attend Ko Puja. It is believed that each organ of a cow represents different god, goddess and devargal. The sacred cow of the temple is decorated and is worshiped.

Chandragiri Fort: Got AAD tickets for 17th morning Dharshan at tirupati and decided to visit Chandragiri Fort built during Vijayanagara rule. It is a good relaxing place with a museum displaying the sculptures and culture of Vijayanagar. There is also a Sound and Light Show with Amitabh Bachan's voice as its voice over, taking the audience down the history lane. The fort has the ruins of Raja and Rani Mahal.
Tip: Best time to visit this place is before dusk.

Kanipakkam: It is ~60km from tirupati by road. The God here is a Swayambhu Pillaiyar. The Myth goes like this. A def and a dumb trying to dig a well for water, hit a stone which started to bleed and and is believed to be god Ganesha. It is also believed that the blood is still oozing and shown to privilege pilgrims. (Yennagada dei..) But as such the temple is good, nice place to visit. Visit to Kanipakkam and back to tirupati would just take max 5hrs.

Tirumala : I was eagerly waiting for this drive. The Road uphill is awesome. I enjoyed the twist and turns of the road. I was lil speeding, but fun. It was pitch dark when i started to drive. During each turn your ears starts to block, temperature drops, clouds pass by, suddenly you are in the middle of mist, shearing thro it. I enjoyed each and every moment of it. In less than 30mins reached the toll gate at 22hrs. Got the Stay at GNC. Went out for a walk with A630. Our stay was not equipped with hot water supply. Mentally prepared for a cold bath, suddenly daddy said there is a hot water Room available. with just the only bucket, filled it with fuming hot water. Over Confidence. One mug of water on my shoulders. ****. Not willing to waste the hot water, took it slowly. Venky vellaiya katitarudooi.. Ketathu mellayae roombha koduthutaaru.. Unusually the Que was smooth till the praharam, after that Jarugandi Jarugandi thaaan. Then another Jarugandi Jarugandi at laddu counter. It was the first day of marghazhi mathan and thirupavai was sung in the temple. It is a different experience.
Tip: If you want to have a relaxed venki darshan, go to the temple on a Tuesday/Wednesday 10pm.

Srinivasa Mangapuram: Started to drive down the hill by 8 AM(17th Dec). It is ~10km from Tirupati on the way to Talakona. It is believed that God came here before going to Tirumala. "The Kalyan Venkateswara is a replica of the main deity of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala". Technically he is just 1" smaller than the one in Tirumala. But he looks big with the allangarams and pilgrims are allowed to have darshan much closer.

Talakona: Usually Daddy would take navigator seat, but he went back saying my driving is scary. A frisking office working for TTD asked for a lift to tirupati. He was the guy who gave me all the above stories and tips of the place. Based on his comment decided to go to talakona. 45km from tirupati out of which 25 on Ghats and the rest in forest. "Talakona is noted for its scenic beauty comprising lush green vegetation and a perennial waterfall which cascades down from a height of 270 ft." This is true. After a 2km drive in Sri.Venkateswara Sanctuary, one need to trek more than a km to reach the water falls. The water is so cold that it took my breath away for a sec, but then it was total fun.
Tips: Friends/Food/Gang is a must. Water Proof camera. Be there just after the monsoon rains. Beware of our ancestor.

New Year Resolution - Tagged Again

I have been tagged by Anoop "tale of a lone wolf" to list my new year resolution. Thanks Dude :)
In my first Year of my College, A New Year resolutions is just a crap idea; it’s simply setting yourself up for lots of disappointment later on. So the new year resolution 1996 was "Not to take a New Year Resolution during New Years". Felt proud and stood for the Resolution.
But later i understood life without goals was like sailing without a destination. Happily broke the resolution and started to list the objectives for my life.
Looking back on this year goal

Save Money - Accomplished.
Morning Walk - Except for 4 months of Knee Rest - I made an attempt to reach KBR park.
Reduce Thooppai (Tummy) - On Going, but considerable accomplishment.

Now the Tag - New Year Resolution '08.

Get on to Oracle Applications Consulting.
Improve fitness level.
DIY project every month, starting january a small studio in my room.

There are lot more i thought but not sure i would be able to keep it up.

Learn to say 'No' (Yennada rombha nallavanu mattum thappa nenaikadeengo. Will not say no, but do what i wish only)
Shred a bit of lazyness

No more using my laptop for watching movies. Convert DVD,.avi,.mpeg to .mp4, sync with your iPod and directly plug on to your Home Theater / TV. Not sure how many in India know this cool accessory available for Video iPod (5th Generation and above), as for many of my friends an iPod is just a mp3 player and video player during travel. After testing this Cable, I am personally satisfied by the TV - WideScreen Output and the clarity you get on an 29" TV. iPod AV Cable is a healthy cable, bought @ the Apple Store is lil costly, but one could find many more in the gizmodo.com, Amazon and google for a cheaper price. I sync'd couple of Video podcast from NatGeo Website and podbazaar.com and with this cable "I am totally Loving it" :)

NFS(Office Name), 'Full Throttle' is my Rule. Can't drive slowly. Crazy about driving. My fav lines are

Knowing or unknowingly, i get influenced/inspired by people i like the most or with the people i mostly talk to. Be a Song, a word, a slang or a habit, sometimes this make me feel i am not real.
Can cook my own Food rite from Breakfast to Lunch to snacks to Dinner, but offcourse i need my mom's sambar podi and online support from the chief chef or the lil chef.I love cooking for my friends. Atleast one or the other week, we cook/party at home. Known to friends as Aada Bala (south indians should know the Aada Dish, in hyd they call pesaratu)

Have patience to baby sit a kid and especially if it is a girl, i enjoy wasting time with them
Tends to take advantage of people i live with, mostly will make others to wait. Never seen a movie in theatre from the first scene.
Car Habits : Play loud music, open doors for the females, atleast a flower for my friends (Yellow Gerberas is my Fav)(Guys and south Indians think bad about this - becoz we are conservative). I like doing this for my friends. Picked up this habit from hari
Fitness Freek .. naaaaaa... Can't be after listing the above, but walk daily 5kms and workout for 1hr. Thanks to my friends who drag me.
Music (mostly i tag a person to each of my fav songs), Photo, Friends, Flickr, A Call Home inspires me.

Hyderabad 10K Run [24644] Nov 25th 2007

Actually it wasn't a 10K Run, but a 10K walk this time.
Not Bad 1hr 40 mins (100 Min), as i thought it would take 2hrs for a person who got ACL reconstructed just 6 months before. Myself and Srikanth decided to walk the show and would pull off on discomfort. We reached Gate 4 and got ourselves registered (hmm vekka kedu - blackla). Registration forms got over and counters were closed, a random dude shared his (never turned) friends registration with us. So finally 24643 (Sriks) and 24644 (balu) along with Renga, Jawahar, Sarat and Pandey (I Guess) started the walk/run by 7.18 AM. The crowd for me seems to be less when compared last two years. But one could see mom cheering kids, guys cheering gals, rock band stalls cheering the participants, corporates, schools, handicapped on the track. Hats off to each and every one who participated in the run irrespective of whether they finished or not. Not sure what we chat, it started from fitness to food to bloggers to flickr to camera to Office practice and what not, in the middle at sight of 7,6,5,4,3 km to finish we kept on encouraging each other as "Not Bad Maaan". We finished the Run and the clock ticked 8.38 AM. Another final "Not bad Man" we did it in an hour and 40.
Felt proud, as usuall Minerva BreakFast and a Good Sleep .
What else i require on a Sunday. Another Good Day in my life.

This post is for my onu rendu தமிழ் blog readers.. n this is not a movie review.

'Happy Days' - இது ெதலுங்கு படம், not a peter padam. Titleaa parthu first confuse agitaen, then knowing it the movie directed by Sekhar Kammula, book pannitaen. Godavari is my all time fav movie of him. Abt the movie - proper sekhar kammula ishtyle movie, rombha nalla hero, kurumbhu ponnunga, real life dialogues, casual jokes, oru lala music (athuthaanga theme music), heroineooda expressions, etc yellam orae saayal. But i kinda liked his style. Music is good. More on the movie read here.

Watch n enjoy the movie, out n out entertainer. In abt 2 hrs it kindled my "god knows" buried memories of my 4yr college life.

2nd yr 'Nanga Seniors'!!! had fun with our juniors, but we were nice seniors. paakatha paadam yenna pogatha theatre yenna? mid night chai/bisci.. mottai madi mokkai, birthday bashs, new year wish pannranu we stopped all buses, mid night la police patrol kita thapichi "Yellarum Ner kotula Oodungooo Campus kulla", group study mokkai, appo appo valli mallai, amrithi forest, naduvula katpadi chennai rail snegam vera.. thirutu thanama aunty veetularunthu cable signal thirudi patu ketpoom..
3rd yr Sandai with Seniors - Adi dhai la, strike, etc.. konjam busy with NIIT.
4th yr po(a)rupu pasanga - project, culturals, sports meet...
then life serious. Except for the romance, intha sweet days aa oru padamaa yedutha, nothing but Happy Days movie - Nostalgic

Do watch it with "friends" my friend.

Prakash Raj is gonna remake this movie in Thamizh.

Chithiram Pesuthadi (::. Nagarjunasagar & Ethipothala .::)

On 07-07-07, not even a month after my operation, decided to do the nagarjuna sagar drive as everybody (me , ravi, prakash, hari, priya, karthick and karpagam) were either pissed, bored, kadi, kadupu.. hmm what all not...
Tha main objectives were
1. get out of hyderabad
2. should not be reachable
3. actually nothing else to do...
The things we did.. we visited.. we played.. we relaxed are in the movie form.. njoy the play.. (my first trial.. its not all that gr8.. but guess u will njoy.. added muzic bits to make it lil funny and njoyable...)

Yennada Surprise nu oru postnu pakkareengala... Just thot would share some of the surprises of my life. Yella surprise sollita nalla irukathula .. so let me let you my latest and the best surprise in my life.
Latest June 19th night 23:50 hrs
Shaam : mamma vaanga saami kumbhadalam [Shaam calling for prayers]. Remembered chandramukki's dialogue "Yenna Kodumadai da Saami". So decided to move out of my bed and stepped out to the Hall. It was dark. Usually my sis will not allow me to walk in dark, wet floor - was surprised to hear she calling me "Vaanga Saar". A cake and two lighted nice smelling candles [which sis was having for a long time waiting for an occasion].
Priya : So thats it
Shaam : Aaaapy Bhooorthday... remaining videola
Thot this birthday would be peace, no friends, no phone call, no email, no msgs.. no bear party.. but shaam, priya, jay mamma, appa and amma surprised me with cake and gifts. itha thaan aarularuthu aaruvathu varaiyo [Is this what 6 to 60's]. Definitely it was a surprise which i never expected.
Shaama pathi sollalayae.. nautanki, cuttie, loving kid, Amma payan (appa kita sandi pannumbhodu), Appa payan (amma kitta dishum dishum bhodhu). Avanunku mazhai vantha lord krishna vararaam. If you light something, it is only for prayers. Now you know why he invited me like that. Thalaivar rocks in patasala. Still in mazhalai paruvam. Everybody would love his company with his mazhalai.

I guess it was 2004 new year, when i was pathu kozhapavadhi.. [ippo mattum yennanu kekatheenga]. Badly in need of a change. Yenna pannalamnu thinking!!!.. Sathy@ asked me come to a restaurant and asked me to wait there... namma thaan sonnnatha panra parambharaiyae illyae... went to the nearby pullareddy sweets. I parked the bike, got the sight of RAT. Deeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiii..... for a sec couldn't belive... Maaaan thats the surprise!!!! Actually thats the time when RAT/Arun/Kanthi all left and was feeling alone. Sathy@ spoke with RAT/Arun and we had a good blast that new year. I forgot the year but the Deeeiiii sight is still fresh...Hats off to Sathy@ definitely thats my besttuuu..
