the more i look at fashion photogaphy, the more i become sick of a superficial complexity that says nothin about elegance, style...fashion.....therefore when i discovered Misty Dawn work, i simply fell in love. i mean u can only feel love, get passionated about a work with such a strong aesthete but in a natural, unpretentious way that make me wanna smile !! yeah i can wait to be able to get holiday pictures as good as this ! and dont u think fashion would be more intense, deep and somehow honest with such artists ?

MAGATEEN ( www.eymagateen.com )! first becuz this upcoming issue, is a Steven Klein exclusive one ! that is to say, we'll get to see his usual sexy situation, gay-moments, maybe even some s&m shots!! but who cares as long as we love it !!!! i also adore the fact that EY has been travelling for each issue, to capture the sexiness, the restless boys....the future every time !! in a new country !! cant wait to see the french one !!!? and well also somethin quite hard right now, due to economic reasons and marketing one but EY is probably one of the rare mag with no ads !! hahaha one more reason to buy it !! thus it's becomin more like an artist portfolio then a soft-gay magazine!!!! i shouldnt say it but BUY IT !!!!

today there's nothin better than sophistication especially when it looks so effortless, so easy, so parisian !! yeah finally Givenchy is back, the french brand at the top !! finally Ricardo Tisci considered as a genius, avant garde dude ! finally again, Paris as the true and real city of fashion. what to say about that first picture of Adrianna Lima lookin absolutely topmodel-esque ! the pose is so fierce, striking new campaign !! yeahh this time it's Givenchy forever !! however i still remember all those critics sayin " we do not understand Tisci eroticism " " his work is between romantic performance and sexy fetischism...but he has to choose between the two !!? " and now it's finally done !! I can see the Vogue Paris team smile over that new crown for french fashion ! in fact, everything looks so good, black isnt just for death anymore ! it's the color of chic people, of this bourgeoisie tryin to hide in the crowd but who knows more what's stylish, who's hanging around with posh people, who's wearing high heels everyday !!!

For all those reasons, i find the new ad absolutely delightfull !! the parisian cliched apartment !! the nice people !! not necessary acting sexy but with attitude !! that's what we love !! yeah they have this je-ne-sais-quoi ! being nude but never vulgar, wearing leather which is in a way the most ugliest thing as it immediately make you look sado-maso !! haha but it's true !! but at Givenchy, there's style, there's mixed of exuberance and sexiness, some very chic manners and good god tastes !! nothin else to add except that we absolutely need some Givenchy for this summer !!! let's save money before the terribly upcomin fashion week !!! im ready to bet it's going to be MAJOR

It seems like the more you read magazines, the more you become indulgent with the content !! first because there's plenty, plenty different mags, from different countries, givin differents news, with different budgets....so at the end you have this pot-pourri of everything from a boring poland mag to some awesome london webzines etc & etc...but at the end, i feel like the most important is the cover as a great metaphor, image that will promote easily the mag spirit, goal and dream ! and yeah so that's why i've picked here pictures from the covers of french magazine Paradis ! conceptually interestin, providing peculiar situations with unic people! it's a new men's magazine !! impressive and commited as if a men magazine meant visually a naked woman showing her boobs !! that's truly wicked !!
ps : they still havent done one cover with a woman ass and fishes jumping on it !! so you have time to check it or purchase it and have your opinion !! but Paradis magazine is the new Purple mag from my point of view

it's definitely becomin trendy striking the pose for designers to promote their brands !!! yeah i still remember ID cover with Devon Aoki and Jeremy Scott together !!! it was brilliant ! i also remember very recently Marc Jacobs nude but with Louis Vuitton graffiti all over his hot body !! soon iconic and now the shy but charismatic Rick Owens !! i love the first picture !!! with his face hidden ! it's always more powerfull !! and sells more !! i cant wait to hear one day people sayin they took a picture of Martin Margiela!! wouldnt it be exciting !!? the man behind some of todays most interesting designs !!! for the moment enjoy those shots by Nick Knight

it's funny how Vogue Italia always managed to create surreal images, being the true fantasy bible..every issue dedicated to somethin abstract, somethin about feelings, somethin interior, somethin related to a big big pleasure or about weakness !! i have to admit that for those reasons, the world is kind of addicted to this dream come true publication... but ive been thinkin recently that if every Vogue magazine is a reflection of it's editor in chief, i have to say that Sozzani doesnt really inspire in terms of personal style ! she's the queen of wearing Alaia with her sister !! both looking gorgeous and timeless !! but i think Anna Dello Russo would look logically more Vogue Italia than Nippon !!!! but who cares !! here i've picked Irina !!! wonderfull and such a true protagonist to me !! i hope she'll be acting also and designin !!!

Im never afraid of posting pictures from Numero magazine when i feel like i have to, as im always very disappointing by them ! Actually it feels like every issue is dedicated to the same photographers, models, clothes and brands ! yeah there's nothing new even tough the pictures are jaw-droppin sometimes ! but yeah it's lacking content, point of view, ideas and references !! however i feel like this issue with Magdalena is worth buying ! in fact, i think showin Magdalena with that arctic blonde hair is such a good thing ! it seems to me models are bleaching more and more as if blonde was the new it-thing ! Behind every publication, there's an INSPIRATION, like US Vogue and Anna Wintour, it's also possible to be about HOPES and DESIRE behind, like god with Jesus
and the Bible or simply a kind of MOOD, Olivier Zham at Purple magazine for example. Therefore, if a magazine is a dream, let's say im HAPPY getting inside the mind of the one who created Fanzine 137 and Electric Youth. With his UNIQUE taste and vision, love for ART and BEAUTY, Luis Venegas offered this exclusive moment! My appreciation: WONDERFULL !

I’ve typed your name on Google and found more informations about your recent project, Electric Youth magazine than Fanzine 137. How do you explain that? Would you say sex sells more than anything?

L. V : Undoubtedly sex is a great selling weapon... And you're right, EY! is -among some other things- a very sexy publication... But I guess EY! has been more present on the internet more than Fanzine137 because of different reasons. First, when I started Fanzine137 nobody knew me, so nobody really care about it at the very beginning. Now, after years doing Fanzine137 I've gained some kind of notoriety -even thought I think it's a very small one-, so it helped to get more excitement and press interest around the launch of EY!... and it means more reviews everywhere. Also I like to think about Fanzine137 as the "best kept secret" in publications... I like it be just for a cult elite, I don't like it to be for everybody, that's why I only print 1137 copies and I sell it at some specific exquisite shops around the world. EY! is also a special magazine not for everybody or to be found at every newstands, but you can find it at American Apparel shops, for example, and it means it's somehow more "mainstream"... I use that word, even thought I'm very conscious I don't print enough copies to be as "mainstream" as most magazines we know...

The first issue was about Spanish boys, then the UK issue and now it seems like you moved to the American dream. So when are we gonna get a chic peek inside Paris hottest boys ? Or at least please reveal in which new country have you decided to land for the next issue?

L. V : Oh, of course there'll be a Parisian issue! I love Paris' boys... They're sooo cool and sexy... They look refined, classy and edgy. I like the very masculine ones, but also those ones who look like fresh little flowers... So, I'm sure the Paris issue will come soon! About the next issue's chosen country... Well, Ray, this is an absolute scoop for you: issue 4 will be published in May and will be about Argentina -or ArgenTEENa, as I like to say-... And it will be entirely photographed by the great Steven Klein. I'm so excited about it!

By the way, you’re one of the first who believed in youth power, restless teenagers, gifted twenty something lads…..therefore, would you also say as Steven Meisel in Vogue Italia February 2009 issue : “ so young, so cool ”?

L. V : Absolutely. Oh, I love that Vogue Italia issue... Ash, Cole, Luke, aren't they amazing? I love young people... and I also love very old people. There's something exciting about those who are beginning to do stuff and something fabulous about those who know a lot about what they do. I think there's a connection between those two ages. At the beginning you don't care about anything and you're able to take on anything, and when you get older is probably the same... Your life is made and you don't have to prove anything to anyone, you've sen it all and you've done it all... I feel both are moments of great freedom: the beginning and the end of your life.

I must admit you’ve already done many amazing things. I just look at the people in Electric Youth, from it-boy Prince Pelayo, to Brazilian male supermodel Evandro Soldati or London greatest models Luke Worrall and Ashley Stymest, only nice and fabulous people actually !!! How come !? Are you this kind of Spanish Andy Warhol like-artist, only surrounded by amazing creatures?

L. V : Oh, I don't think I could be at any level of comparision with Warhol, I wish I could! But you're right, I love being surrounded by handsome people and beautiful things. I'm addicted to beauty. I really deeeeeeeeeeply enjoy a good photo, a good movie, a nice Lladró figurine, a good magazine, an amazing kiss... I take all things I like in a very personal way.

So if I was the genius of the lamp and I could make one of your wish come true, what would you ask me to do?

L. V : I would like to have Spiderman's superpowers.

On Wikipedia I’ve typed your name again but nothing…..as if the world was denying your amazing first publication “ Fanzine 137 ”. Tell me how and why you started this amazing but difficult project.

L. V : Fanzine137 is about all things I like, about people I admire because of different reasons. Every little thing on each new issue is there because I like it... At last, it's a magazine about me throught the things I like, throught the artworks of amazing artists around the world that I admire. I like to think if someone likes my magazine is very possible that person will like me also... Does it sound strange? I started to publish it in sSeptember 2004, but I wanted to do it since always, because of my endless love to magazines since I was a child. I collect special magazines since I was 12 years old. From Vanity Fair to rare issues of Avantgarde, for example... So it was my dream to make my own special magazine... And hopefully earn money doing it!

I just adore the concept of your book, mixing the work of famous and well-known visionnaire with young and promising artist. Was it easy doing this ? I mean everyone knows it’s better playing safe as the economy isn’t going really well !? the crisis……do you care about that?

L. V : I prefer not to think too much about it... I mean, of course I have to be realistic and be awake to make things happen harder than 2 years ago, but I trust a lot on my own enthusiasm. So I'm sure my magazines will survive. Think the team behind my mags is my computer, my phone and me... Maybe it's harder for big mags which have to fire their employeees, but my structure is so little...

So you’ve been showing the work of duet photographers Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin or Juergen Teller, some designers like Tom Ford or Christian Lacroix or some editors like Stephan Gan or Jefferson Hack!!! OMG how are you doing this!!? How much money to you spend!!? In French, there’s an expression that says if I translate it “you have to have sex with people to succeed”! True or False?

L. V : Ray, do you know it by your own experience? I'm joking... Well, I love sex, so I've always done it without expecting anything in return -at least farther than pleasure-... So I wouldn't care to have sex if it would mean an investment in success! Unfortunately, it never happened before and luckily I've never needed it.

Ps : what about having Carine Roitfeld in your book ?!! not interested ? And what about working on a new way of showing your book like Visionnaire and their funny ways of approaching the concept of publications?

L. V : Carine Roitfled on Fanzine137 would be as exciting for me as his son Vladimir on my bed. I mean, it would be great! I think she's doing the best Vogue nowadays -together with the American edition by Anna Wintour-... And about Visionaire, it is also a magazine I deeply admire, and endless source of inspiration. I also have to say Stephen Gan, Cecilia Dean and James Kaliardos -and all the rest of their team- are extremely kind and very supportive with me. I like them a lot! I like to change the format of my Fanzine137 and try new things, but I'll never be as radical as Visionaire is... why? Well, that's what they do, and they do it so great that I never would dare even try to imitate it.

Well I’ve sweared I wont give up trying to get to know you more thanks to the internet. So after few minutes on various blogs and websites, I found that you’ve been working with Thierry Mugler!!! You’re so lucky! Please tell us how he is and what do you think about the return of his brand to the menswear fashion week in Paris?

L. V : I was an stagier at Thierry Mugler for 7 months from December 1996 to July 1997 and assisted him to his Couture shows, during that amazing season when Galliano did the first Dior, McQueen did Givenchy and Gaultier did his first Couture show... It was an extraordinary experience for me... Mr. Mugler was very strict and occasionally rude with most of his team, but at the end he took care about every little detail and was nice. I did the stage with another Spanish friend and we had lots of fun, working hard but also singing and laughing all time and he seemed to like that... I keep a wonderful memory of those days... And I would love to meet Mr.Mugler again and include him on forthcoming issues of Fanzine137!About the return of his brand... Well, it is a powerful brand, so I understand its comeback. Is Thomas Engel Hart still doing it? I think he's good... But Mugler was A-MA-ZING, and it's so complicated to fight and win against such a great legacy...

I also noted that (according to a french website) you’ve worked at Acne paper, Butt magazine and Dazed & Confused and at El Pais and at Marie Claire. What an eclectic journey. Those mags are just so different and unique, which may also explain your taste for various artists and creators. Would you say this is your force, a great background ?

L. V : Probably. I feel lots of curiosity for maaaaany things. I have no prejudices. I can find joy and fun -almost- everywhere.

By the way, if you could work today at the magazine of your choice, which one would you choose and why ?

L. V : How difficult! I guess I would love to see Vogue USA from the inside... But I really can't say I would love to work there... I love so much my own freedom...

I also read that you’ve been working for the brands Loewe and Carolina Herrera. So tell me what you have learnt from this experience and how it affects your present in your choices ?

L. V : Working with big brands is so exciting! I like to see the other side of the business, that one focused on marketing rules, selling lots of products... I've learned a lot about business. Maybe it could sound too naïf, but I think it's not difficult at all to learn fast about those things. You only have to use common sense.

Oh and is it true that you’re a teacher? What are you teaching? Where? And yeah why?

L. V : Yes I am... I teach Contemporary Culture at the main Fashion Institute in Madrid. I looove doing it! It helps me to re-fresh my own knowledge... And I love to be in front of an audience and entertain them for 2 hours... It's like being a performer! Also, it help me to get in direct contact with younger people and better understand what new generations like or dislike... And honestly, most of them need sooo much to learn sooo many things!

When I’ve typed on Yahoo.com your name, I’ve found articles related to a music composer or a football player!!! Not really glamour or arty right!? So tell me if you could control what people say or write about you what would you like to hear?

L. V : I really don't care... But I love games, so let me try the ideal sentence I would like to read about me... It would be something like "the sexiest, funniest and cleverest independent editor and creative director alive is a very kind, lovely and normal person"... :-p

You’re ready to release one new issue of Fanzine 137 “ Ladies & Gentleman volume 2 ”. So first tell me why this very classic name? And then it seems so fashionable right now doing cross-genders things no!!? So tell me, are you one day gonna do one issue called “ trashy-trans ” ?

L. V : Who knows? In fact, this 2nd volume of Ladies & Gentlemen includes a long interview about the story of wonderful hairdresser Jimmy Paul, who started working in NYC as a drag queen... Possibilities are endless and I like to celebrate them all, talent doesn't care about gender!

Then I’d like to know what are your upcoming projects ?

L. V : Oh, next 2 issues of EY! and next Fanzine137... and open to many other possible projects.

What can I wish you ?

L. V : Happiness, always.

Finally my very favorite question, today what is stylish ?

L. V : Irving Penn's work always... Japanese women. Brazilian teenage guys... I also find stylish all actresses who style themselves and don't any stylists to dress them, like Diane Keaton.

That's always a pleasure with ID and their conceptual covers !! Miuccia, the italian genius, the smart lady, subtle artist, goddess of style....whatever !! we love her right !!? ahh thanks to ID magazine for this awesome april cover !!! i just dont think, no matter what people says that its a reference to Mona Lisa !! not at all !! but yeah there's somethin surrealist, very Duchamp, or an hommage to the dada-ism for prada !! yeah it's more somethin like that fellas no !!? So apart from that, i am lovin those covers, as an ode to the creator, the artist...instead of just doing the apology of the clothes and of the models ! wouldnt it be amazin seeing soon Nicola Ghesquiere from Balenciaga on Vogue Paris !!? Donatella, Valentino and Armani dressed as clowns for Vogue Italia by Meisel !? or Vivienne Westwood naked in Dazed & Confused !!!! yeah im kind of worry, seeing because of the crisis, all those immense talents dying !! we have to support the artist and their truly innovative visions, love and passion for creativity !!

oops im sorry !! yeah that's the first thing i thought when i saw this picture ( above ) with Ymre for Vogue Paris by Demarchelier !! absolutely amazin no !! i love the french vogue sense of humor ! so chic! yeah i really think it's a kind of stereotype for young fashionistas to believe avant-garde fashion or visionnaire daring looks have to look fancy, to sound breathless or be visually stunnin but no...........everything here is just so perfect, so easy, so effortless !! and what a statement !! mixing couture clothes with the best farm animals !! Carine Roitfeld who styled it, gave us somethin truly nice, unique once again and so french !!!! yeah what a peculiar but funny way to depict as we say in french " la france profonde " with farmers, pigs and a little boring life that we imagine, in the mountains!!? i love that paradox and a fashion magazine has definitely a social role to play and isnt just about superficiality !! thumps up for them

with the crisis invading my house, my home, my self, i feel like there's nothin to entertain me anymore !! sad end right !!? no no no i cant let myself like that !!! that's probably why im posting such cute shots ! but the real reason is that i've been really laughing looking at that spread, especially on the styling !!? how to describe it fellas ?? simple, casual quite classic !! yeah and when u look at those shots you definitely feel different, maybe fancy, too galliano-esque for your taste ! but that's not my problem now !! yeah i think it's pretty genius ! we dont have money to afford Dior couture or Lanvin cocktail dresses...so let's be inventive !!! we can mix jeans and those simple white shirts and look lovely !! but dont forget to pluck flowers from your neighboors :!!!! plus they wont ask for money !!!! now all fashionistas would be running for priceless, pricefree items ! yeah that's the new glamour ! back to reality, back to glamour !!!

This season the most amazin show i've been to was Comme Des Garçons !! yeah i had the chance to get in at the last minute !! even without being invited !! god im the best at this !!!! everything was perfet, poetic, soft, but dramatically intense, the make up, the models, the music.....and at the end, we've been waiting for Rei Kawakubo to get out but nothin !! which means next season i have to get in again ! i wanna meet that amazin woman !! but first was Kris Van Assche show !! i have to admit i feel sad for him, workin so hard and everybody blames him for everythin, for his Dior homme collections, for his lifestyle, for the campaigns etc etc !! so lame !! after all he's talented !!! no matter what we say !! so i was sitting front row at his show !! lovely no !?

I've been to the Isabel Marant show !!! lucky me !! i've seen Lara Stone live, walkin the runaway !! with her very peculiar way of catwalking but why not ! who cares !! she's sensational !! and amazingly beautifull !! i have to admit that all the big models were there !! Isebali Fontana, Freja Beha, Natasha Poly, Daria Werbowy, Eniko, Anja Rubik or Anna Selezneva.....etc but the most amazin was Carmen Kaas !! fave model from all time ! what a great and memorable moment i swear !! however the clothes were boring, so predictable, not fashion forward enough to me !! but the models seem to enjoy, a fast show, cool music, lovely girls !!! ahhhh yeah more more more please !!!!

It's funny how im not necessary a fan of Bruno Pieter work but this season there was somethin special, a truly unique taste....plus the show took place at the musée de l'homme in paris which is gonna be closed for three years as it's gonna be under-construction ! so i had frills, the wonderfull Iekelene Stange opened the show, so what else ?!! the cuts and shapes and colors were highly intense, deep music and a lovely crowd around !! i also think the fabrics and some outfits were very impressive in terms of quality !!! yeah if i could afford one coat, i'd definitely offer myself one!
ps : i've seen later that night Iekelene at a party !! she's so flawless !! that's insane !! oh ad Myf was also doing the runaway show !! please i wanna book her !! amazin beauty

what to say when u'r lucky enough having one good friend workin at Alexander Mcqueen !!!!? yeah i've attended this show !! i've done lots of other shows as well !! but fashion week is killin my body, our bodies !! yeah we dont eat, we run, we wait in the cold, we see the clothes and then back in the car, on a bus for another trip.....from 10 am to 10 pm for seven days !!! oops yeah !! i know my skin is suffering and my feets are also hurt !! but who cares when u see this result !!? who wouldnt suffer for that !!!?
ps : it seems to me that McQueen meant with this collection " fuck the crisis " !!! even Galliano at Dior didnt wasted as much money as before !! hell lame :!!!!!!!!

what's fashion when u'r just copying, stickin to somethin u've seen or heard or read .....? well to me, fashion means nothin when it's not personal, when it has nothin to do with what u really are, with what's true about yourself !!? yeah fashion is a reflection of what we are, the mirror of the soul, a part of the body !! and if the pictures dont make any sense to you, it does to me !! yeah i think Vogue Italia is definitely the only fashion magazine pushing the borders, not just delivering models with cute clothes in sweet shots !! yeah it's deeper and sweeter ::) when the models start becomin boring and like everyone and the girl outside becomin the pecualiar one, the strange lady !
ps : finally i bet we would all love to be that amazin lady, that fab person, rockin star or glam people !!! but we all wouldnt like to become nobody
