Well well well.

Where have I been in the last five months?

Oh you know, here and there.

...It's been a long, long time.

The project fell apart (as I suppose you can gather from the absence of videos and things).

Lots of things have changed and are continuuing to change.

I'm currently very nervous about a job interview I have in two hours. Very, very nervous.

But life is good.

That's an understatement.

In any case, there will be a video in the next couple days! Stay tuned. :)

I'm excited and scared at the same time.

Spring break...good stuff.

Spent most of today playing Lego Star Wars on the PS3 and transferring music on to my computer.
Have lots of new things to listen to.

079/365: Things to Accomplish Over Spring Break

1. Record my album! Or at least a majority of it.
2. Get the rest of the songs in my head out.
3. Ride bikes!
4. Spend lots of time with friends and family.
5. Rest. Sleep and relax and attempt not to jump out of bed in the morning but enjoy a few minutes of awakeness while still in bed.
6. Catch up on any and all homework that might have been overlooked or procrastinated on.
7. Spend some time just laying in the sun.
8. Go up to Boulder and walk around Pearl Street.
9. Go up to Greeley to play boardgames with Christine and Michelle!
10. Learn some new songs (Rush, most likely :P And some bluesy stuff)
11. Relax to the point that the rest of the semester won't be stressful.
12. Choose classes for the summer and the fall.
13. Look for places to do gigs at.
14. Practice for the Talent Show a bit(?)
15. The Can't Buy Me Love video (maybe)
16. Make some really awesome vids.
17. Have some good conversations.
18. Bake some cookies.
19. Laugh.
20. Neglect all things serious. This is a week to have fun! :)

075/365: Epic Fail of a Morning

I sort of wish this morning came with a rewind button.

I'm sure later today will be awesome, but this morning just needs to disappear so I don't have to think about it.

Forgot my wallet, forgot my keys. It's probably a good thing I don't have a phone for a few days because I'm certain I would have forgotten that as well. Almost forgot my lunch, which would have basically been a disaster if I had also forgotten my lunch. I suppose I'm thankful that didn't happen. 'Twas close, though.

Don't know what I'm going to do when this morning's cup of coffee wears off...

Should have brought my laptop.

I wish I had gotten more sleep last night, but I suppose I'll make up for it next week, once Spring Break rolls around. Four more days.

Off I go to class in hopes that this morning is better (and my professor won't have to look at me like he doesn't know my name)....

So this is how this works, you pick a song for every year of your life (or if that's too much) for each part of your life that was significant. - Organic Chemistry!!!!!!
- DDR with Vanessa and just general best friend stuff.
- Possibly checking out the 12 string acoustic guitars, but I think I might have to wait a couple months for that...
- Catching up on my sleep.
- Figuring out the next year of my life (classes-wise, for the summer and the fall)
- Writing a letter or two.
- Who wants a postcard? :P I randomly feel like sending out a bunch of snail mail.
- Rerecording some songs.
- Recording some new songs.
- Watching A Hard Day's Night and story-boarding the entire "Can't Buy Me Love" scene
- Doing lots of stuff and having fun. Hopefully.

It's going to be a fun weekend, I hope.
One more week of school and SPRING BREAK. Cowabunga, dude. :P

066/365: What's Really Important?

So I've been pondering quite a couple things lately, which upon seeing The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, have been brought to my attention.

My head and my heart have been pondering. I have been trying to figure out what's really important in this life. It has been bugging me a bit lately. The last three movies I've seen in the last couple weeks have really got me pondering. Along with seeing The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, I also got a chance to see Slumdog Millionaire and watch Into the Wild again. They bring out a lot of questions, but the most important one is:

What's really important?

Is it money?

I'm convinced money isn't what's really important. I'm not saying this just because the economy is bad. As a child my allowance would burn a hole in my pocket if I didn't spend it. Now almost every single dollar and every single cent is considered before it is spent. Money is a challenge. It seems like it is one of the most important things in the world because of all that it facilitates: college, food, shelter, the things we need, and the things we want. I earn it, and it disappears, or at least this is what it seems like. I'm not even paying bills on a monthly basis yet, and I am already worrying about it.

What I can't seem to wrap my head around is just how much money goes into everyday life. Is everything really all that necessary? What is and what isn't? Could I live without television? Do I really need to keep all of these books? Why do I have so much clothing if I barely wear half of it? Why do I have so many different backpacks if I only alternate between two? Why do I own purses if I hardly ever use them?

I tend to think of myself as not very materialistic. However, upon moving my furniture a couple weeks ago, I realized just how much stuff I actually have. So many books, so many old papers and things. So many old markers and pens, colored pencils that I have had since I was 5, old yearbooks. So many of these objects have sentimental value, but the rest is there, I don't know how it got there, and I'm not sure how to get rid of it.

Because I don't want all this stuff.

Because I realize that material items are of little to no importance in the end.

If it's not money, and if it is not in material possession, where can we find the things that matter most?

Is it knowledge? Does the gaining of knowledge either through school or experience make a difference in our lives? I think it does. We learn hundreds of things everyday.

Are relationships the most important? There are people that come and go in life, like books that remain on a shelf never to be opened again. I think once you start considering relationships as important, you get closer to what is most important.

Love. Ah, that's the rub. I think that even in search for this - which I think is most important, and ties in everything else (except money and things), is the place where so many people have found peace and comfort in. However, some have made mistakes and fallen here. So where do we go from here?

Perhaps what's most important is to grow and learn and love and let people, not money and things, fill your heart. To experience life, not worry about it.

Maybe the fact that we only have this one life, and this one chance to screw up, or to make it worthwhile should be the driving factor in everything we do.

Maybe careers and money aren't all that important.

Maybe it's worth going on a spontaneous trip every once in a while.

Maybe it's worth to make memories and live and love.

Perhaps someday we will realize this, and parents will get a chance to spend time with their children instead of having to work all of the time. Perhaps one day a priority will be put on how much love a person gives as opposed to their salary.

I just want to stop worrying all the time. I want to know that these are the things most important to me, and I want to work on them. Money is not a factor in love or peace.

There are just some things that must be pondered.

Goodness, I'm tired of staying up late.
I suppose today I had a good excuse. I thought my extremely computer-savvy skills would allow me to do an assignment in a jiffy - instead it took me almost three hours to figure out.

My head hurts.
