~~Kumquat~~ Carin faces the same dilemma every other woman in the world struggles with, clothes shopping! Nice clothes, date-appropriate clothes. And she found some, somehow. There must have been magic in the air or something.

On The Needles
- Carin is making short Monkey Socks. She finished spinning and plying the merino silk and finished spinning the Vesper Jolly Rodger. She remembers that she has to make a baby sweater for a coworker.
- Miss Violet is still working on the Dr. Who scarf and it's not all that big but it's perfect mindless knitting, especially in the summer heat. Ew.

Yarn Pr0n
- Microcosm - Knitted/Woven sculptures. It reminds Miss V. of Knitting Art.

ACTUAL LIME in this week's Lime & Violet! Tangy goodness and she brought booze!

On The Needles

- Lime is nearly done with the Boxed Sweater from Knitty. It needs a bit of end weavings. And Hugo Weaving...oh wait nevermind. But yeah, it totally does wonders for Miss Lime's silhouette.

- Miss V mentions, um, ball gags. That isn't on the needles but it was on the door and in the picture and, well, that's all she said. Oh wait, then there's the Prayer Beads bag thing. Google it, it's awesome.

News
- Miss Lime's ghosts put on a performance for the temp roomies, playing with remotes and knocking on walls. If I were a ghost, I'd probably do the same sort of thing out of sheer boredom. "Dude, the afterlife sucks. I'm gonna screw with people's heads." Of course, maybe Amy Weber could help out but Miss Lime has to send pictures first.

- And just everything else like the Ringy Dingy Lady and shearing men.

And then there is drunken slurring and talking and Miss Lime is welcomed back to the fold and will attempt to come up for yarny air once a month. Hooray!

Where Gwen and Carin sound a lot alike, tangents go all over the place, particularly going boldly where Miss Violet never wanted to go and there is more Yarn Pr0n than you can shake a stick at.

On The Needles

- Carin is SLACKING OFF, OMG! All she did was ply the merino silk. Oh well, you're off the hook. Just barely.

- Miss Violet got a few repeats on the Road Not Taken scarf from A Fine Fleece and some of SSH's Santa Cruz Hoodie from Knit 2 Together got knit. It's in Bershire Bulky from Valley Yarns found at WEBS. And a mile-long Dr. Who scarf. And the Hydrangea Scarf in Ravenscroft. She also crocheted a Barrel from Nightmare Before Christmas Amigurumi. I think it sounds absolutely awesome.

- Carin is stalled on the Incredible Shrinking Violet Monkeys but she finished the Austermann socks. And there's also an adorable finished blue Tulip Sweater! <3 She's got some merino silk from Blue Moon to spin and some Vesper roving in Jolly Rodger merino tencel. She also got a gorgeous jewelry box made of found wood at Boxnmor. :D

- Miss V has the best excuse ever that she got no knitting done. She's done a little though, like the cashmere scarf.

On the Needles
- Carin's finished a sleeve on the Tulip Sweater, though it took a dip in the Frog Sweater. She started Monkeys in Rockin' Sock Club: The Incredible Shrinking Violet. She's spinning the Merino Silk frog-hair thickness.

- Miss V's knitted a toe on a sock trying to use Judy's Magic Cast-on. She's filled three full bobbins with her spinning. Yarn Pirate in OMG A MOTH FLEW UP MY SKIRT--Forever. It's 100% BFL and spun thick and thin. Then there's the one made of 12 different roving. She is also knitting the Tentacle Of Productivity (sorry, there's no link to a pattern or anything).

- Carin is still working on the Tulip Sweater, got the sleeves left but it's been hibernating. She's also finished her Monkeys and it's back to the Rivendell Socks. She plied her llama spun stuff. She has a 5 1/4 ounces of 50/50 merino silk fiber to spin from Blue Moon Fiber Arts in the color: Sea. Branching Out was a pattern suggested when she mentioned it would be spun real thin.
- Miss V. is working on the Duchess Bag from Exquisite Little Knits or Inspired Knits (not sure which) in silky Malabrigo that *flops*. And then there is so much soap and acrylic sex swings.

Episode #60 - Yenta-ing Show Notes

Carin had a daa~aate! A group liquid breakfast sort of date and just listen if you want all the gorey details, yum yum!

On the Needles

- Carin finished the first Monkey sock! In Turquoise light-weight STR and she started the second one. And she knit the I-cord for the neck of the Tulip sweater. And finished spinning the 12 oz. of the llama fiber!
- And Miss Violet is working on IT. IT seems to be a Sock, because it has a heel, though I don't know, it could be pants and she's just using funny terminology for it (oh, okay, I'm just being silly now). And then she is also working on some Rainy Day Socks which you can also find as a free download over on Ravelry. There's not much else since it's gotten so warm other than dyeing Nanner Yarn and making Perfume Oil/Soap.

- Michele (MonkeyPal on the Chum) went to the Black Sheep Gathering and wrote up a review for Lime & Violet's Daily Chum and talked to the Blue Moon Fiber Arts booth. The ladies there talked her into making a purchase, so she got some Rare Gems for Miss V! Very generous.

Episode #59 - Estesian Appendages Show Notes

Carin went to Estes! She stayed in the fantastic Alpine Trail Ridge Inn and then headed to Estes where you could hear the woeful wailing of her credit card as she: got llama fiber to spin at Rock-n-M Llamas and a Ladybug Spinning Wheel to spin it with that she did NOT get at Bountiful Spinning and Weaving. She stopped by Traci Bunkers to say hello from Ms. V. Then there was the 2 lb Alpaca Fleece from Green Acres Alpaca Ranch that looked just like Phoebe! She's going to get it processed at The Shepherd's Mill, Inc. Sounds like she had a very good time.

And in other news, there is Plurk. There are a LOT of people on Plurk and it's like an online S&B. Make a Nanner sock! Order Nanner yarn from Lime & Violet and if you use the word "Plurkette" and add your username, you get free shipping! Also, notice that I didn't use my invite code for the Plurk site. Miss V. can lick me. ;)

Good news, Malabrigo is back in production, yay!!! Our eczema woes are over! Miss V headed to her LYS where the friendly LYSO talked her merrily into getting some Malabrigo silk for her R. Kathryn Bag from the Inspired To Knit book.
Alcariel is still working on the Turquoise Monkey sock and got the whole body of a Tulip Sweater done, but most of her effort has gone into the 4 oz. llama fiber that she spun up.

Then there was a slight conversational detour that took us all through the horrifying medical quandary and if you're queasy, SKIP THIS. I found it hilarious but I'm also a nurse and I'm crazy weird.

Violet is suffering from air allergies and Carin doesn't want to bring her work to the studio. Poor thing has been doing her exam so she can add extra initials to the end of her name and she doesn't need more hassle without pay raise.

Carin's finished the Turkish Stitch String Bag and got her Envirosax and they came with her when she went out to Estes (if you didn't see her, sadly, you missed her). She is also knitting Monkeys and spinning llamas.
Violet is working on finishing up her Monkeys made out of Socks That Rock - Henpecked. And she almost went to the Iowa Sheep & Wool but it got rained out. Sonuvagun. And by "Oz", we mean the Emerald City, not down under. Hooboy.

Miss V is suffering from bronchitis. Thus, she's leaving the show notes to AdminKit this week, since her brain is kinda squirmy and a little bit squishy.

There is yarn, a tornado warning, and giggling this week, though. So it's pretty typical. :)
