What is actually interesting as you think about the recent furor over Rev. Wright and BO's speech on race is the thing Barck won't address.... the breakdown of the family and particularly Black family.

*Nearly seven in 10 black babies are born to single mothers today.

*These children will fail in school at higher rates than those born to two parents.

*They are more likely to become involved in criminal activity. Their poverty rates will be higher.

*And they are far more likely to repeat this pattern by giving birth to or fathering a child out of wedlock themselves.

It's nto isolated to the African-American community, similar trends albeit to a lesser extent exist in the Hispanic and White communities also.

One blogger on a different site points out BO had the great opportunity to do this in his speech when talking about how his Grandmother raised him but he chose not to. Instead he sterotyped Grandma as a closet racist tossing her under the bus.

It's unfortunate that the guy that didn't want to make this election about race has done just that.
