Went to an Art Retreat in Grapevine

An online group I am in has an art retreat each year for 4 days, it's such fun getting together and laughing and creating art ..... the theme this year was GIRLFRIENDS ... anyway these are some photo's of the projects we did ..... the corsage on the front was one of the small projects then the book was the big project (I am only posting 4 of the 7 spreads) and then we did a German glass edged slide that went into the book (the lady that showed us how to do it gave us each one with our name on it and I put mine on the front of my book), the back has some of the stuff from the weekend - my bunny slipper tag, a large decorated tickets for entrance to a party one night (we all decorated these tickets and then blind drew them after the event and I got this super one) .... we made an autograph book and each of us signed it , I am posting the front cover ... we also made this wonderful little pin nib butterfly and the background is Glimmer Mist .... and then this AWESOME wand was a drawing prize and I won .... enjoy .....

well this is what I have been spending all my time doing lately ..... expecting a first Grand baby is so exciting I am sure each one will be but since this is our first I will have to wait to know ..... the nursery is still in progress .... the window is missing it's shelf rod to drape the swags and hold pretties, the rocking chair, in which the baby's Great Grandfather's rocked her mother and her uncle, corner is missing the chandelier; the changing table wall (which there is no photo this time is missing the shelf above it and the curved changing pad and the pretties for the shelf; the crib wall is missing the shelf above it (these shelves are antique from the baby's Great Grandparents mantel of there home) and the things that will go on it .... the colors didn't come out good in all the photos but the walls are lavender, the shears and recovered the rocker and stool (we did these) are soft lime, the black design on the walls I cut with the Cricut in vinyl and it was sooooo easy to adhere to the walls ... I will post more photos when it get finished ....

Chandalier for Nursery

ok so you know I will alter anything ...... so guess what I did ... I took this baby chandelier and added the colors our daughter chose for her baby's nursery, lime and lavender .... I may still add some more to it but this is how it stand right now .......

You remember the Wand I posted earlier well yesterday I got my swap wand in the mail and this is it ........ The title of the wand is "Time Flies" don't know if you can tell but the ribbons and feather are flying in the wind ......

The spoon is from the mingle I did my two spoons for .... it's so awesome ... the lady that did it knows me so well she used an Elephant and the main color is green - it's me all over ......

Now I am waiting for my second one and I will post it when it arrives ..... click to enlarge ...

Wand Swap

This is my "Queen of the Maypole" ... I am in an online swap and we are doing wands ... Maypole celebrations go back long ago in history ... in the 18th century it took the form from traditional and 'art' dance popular in Italy and France ... these were exported to the London stage and reached a large audience, becoming part of the popular performance repertoire ... adopted at a large teacher training institution, the ribbon maypole dance then spread across most of central and southern England and is now regarded as the most 'traditional' of May Day's traditional characteristics ... click to enlarge

Well you have been watching the page's I have created for others and you saw the cover and such about 9 months ago BUT now you will see my book .... I still have to receive one page and tag to have it complete but it SOOOOOOOOOO very close .... my theme was houses, birds, Victorian and colors scheme was peach any shade of, antique linen, slight touch of walnut ink and since my fav. color is green it could have a little of that .... This is the last of the RR it's been so much fun working on everyone themes and color choices ... needless to say it has stretched me some and I have found out there are a few things I probably won't do again ...... when I get my book all put together I will post it ...... this theme was birds and vintage fairy children ... the color scheme was forest blue/green with sepia/browns ... click to enlarge
