It's getting Closer

The day for Olivia's surgery is coming closer and we still don't have a time for her surgery yet though. I almost feel like their going to tell me to be there with her at 7am which isn't bad at all because most of the time I'm in Rocky Mount by 7:15am anyways. It's crazy but she's becoming more anxious as the date arrives. I know that I'd be scared too but we're going to make sure that she has her stuffed animals with her that she wants to be there and her blankie has to be there too. I'm just happy that she's going to get tubes put back in her ears and hopefully we will see a big difference with her ears getting infected. Hopefully we won't have this problem again. So just keep her in your prayers this week while we get ready to endure this surgery.

Surgery

Olivia had an appointment on Monday with her ENT and we found out that she has to endure another surgery this coming up Thursday. She'll be getting her third set of tubes although she is excited and scared at the same time. She honestly is ready to get better because she has been dealing with an ear infection for over a month now. She's ready to have some summer fun as well!

Well other than planning the surgery we have really been up to nothing. I'm trying to see if my brother will bring over his daughter, Keali so that Olivia and I can take her out and maybe even go take some pictures of her at City Lake and another place. I know that they would have a good time doing it too. Plus to have those pictures as keepstakes then I'm all for it!! Well we're still out of AC upstairs but hopefully will be having that fixed sometime next week. It's like when it rains it pours at our house. I ended up going to Lowes and purchasing a new ceiling fan because mine was on it's last leg. LOL. Here is what it looks like:

Other than that life is just staying busy. Planning on going to Kings Dominion again soon after Olivia's surgery. :)

Ever been to TX?

I've never been to Texas but I have a great uncle who lives in Texas. He has a cattle farm and is very successful in the business. He's my grandfathers brother and with them both growing up on a farm this was the perfect business for Grady to go into. Well I can't remember where exactly he lives but I know if he lives near Plano then he could check into a very successful Plano Dentist. Then he could make sure that he has all his options covered although I'm sure he already has a dentist. But others who may live in the area may want to take a look at this dentist. They might be pleasantly surprised.

The good thing about living in North Carolina is having access to going to the beach. We have several beaches that we can go to and I've been to many of them already. But still one of my favorite beaches to go to is the Outer Banks. The one thing that I love about going to the OBX is getting to drive your vehicle on the beaches. It's awesome. Plus makes for a fun day as well.

Since beginning work 3 months ago, I've gained between 10-15lbs and so I'm looking to lose those pounds and more than that. Well I've often thought about doing a google search looking for the best diet pills out there but haven't found any that I've actually liked. But I am going to start back to doing Weight Watchers and having a good time with that. I need to lose the weight and get to feeling better about myself and the way that I look as well. I do want to have fun doing it so it looks like my mom is going to get into doing it with me. And for any others who wants to join in please do...we are beginning on this coming up Monday.

New Fixtures...

Lately I've been doing some thinking and that is to replace the bathroom sink fixtures with some new Kohler faucet. Kohler has a lot of new and modern faucets that I'm actually liking. Then the next thing that would be replaced in the bathroom would be the light fixtures which I've chosen a few select ones out as well. Then the other thing that needs to be replaced in my room would be to get a new ceiling fan with lights seeing how mine is completely bitten the dust..or so we think. So it looks like there are a few new expenses to think about getting and I guess I better stop going out and spending money on different things like clothes for Olivia and games for the wii.

Life is Good!

Last weekend Olivia and I went to Myrtle Beach where we had a great time there. We realized that Olivia loves the pool and doesn't care too much for the ocean. Who knew right? We also found out that the campground we stayed at has so much for kids to do that we are planning on going back next summer for at least 1 week (I'll have enough vacation time to do that). They not only have Kids Club but they also have putt putt, the hippo slide, paddle boats, canoes and bike rentals there. We had the best time there for sure!!! Then we came home and had a good overall week. And another thing...the underwater camera rocks too!!!

Today, Olivia and I went to Kings Dominion and had a great time. We rode the Scooby Doo roller coaster 3 times, and rode the Log Flume twice. We did a lot of walking and we just had a fun time. Plus the thing that I enjoyed the most was the fact that we didn't have too many meltdowns while there. Given the fact that Olivia didn't have a nap at all and we didn't take the stroller. Next time we go we'll be sure though to have more people with us so that I can ride some adult rides as well. I love having the season pass too because we didn't have to pay for parking. How sweet was that? Kings Dominion Rocks!!! I haven't put any of the pictures from the trip today on here but here are a few that I took of Olivia this week. Enjoy!

Naot Shoes

Everyone must know that I absolutely loves buying shoes and sandals and flip flops. I'm an addict for them and I must say that I've gone broke trying to buy them before (of course it was before I had Olivia). Well while doing some searches online last night I came across this neat site that has Naot shoes and have to say they are awesome. I like the way the sandals look and some of the shoes look. They look very comfy which in my eye is all about that. Except for when your going out with your friends and you want to look hot then you have to have a pair of killer high heel shoes. Then that explains it all. Anyways if you want to look at some cool looking shoes then check out that site.

Covers for Motorcycles

I used to have an uncle who had a Harley Davidson and honestly his bike was freaking awesome. But if I were ever to get a motorcycle then I would make sure it was a Harley. I think they are amazing and the sound of a Harley is even better. One thing I would make sure to have if I did have a bike is to have some motorcycle covers to protect that thing. Who would have ever guessed that I'm interested in getting one. Just want to make sure that Olivia is much, much older when I get one though.

What's been Happening Our Way?

I know I haven't been on top of updating this blog often but honestly since I started working it seems like my life has become super busy. What's new right? Well since Olivia has been out of school for 1 week it seems like life has become more calmed down a bit. I still get her up early in the morning but she seems to be adjusting very well to the changes and even has been included in the field trips for daycare for the school aged kids. It's nice for her because she wants so much to be apart of the older crowd and wants to keep up with what her friends are doing. And since she's going to be in Kindergarten this year I think she's ready to go on field trips. Today she went bowling and tomorrow she will be going roller skating. How much fun is that going to be for her? I do miss doing things with her but I'm glad that she is getting to have fun. This summer I have a feeling will be great!

We have also been dealing with her ears again. It seemed like last week she was yelling and screaming because she said she couldn't hear anything. Finally on Friday night she started crying because it was hurting her so bad and so Saturday morning I contacted the pediatricians office and they got her in. Come to find out her left eardrum was severely swollen and red so bad to the point they have no idea if her tube is still in her ear or not. So they prescribed her some Amoxacillin (sp?) and said that should do the trick. Well here it is Thursday evening and it still hasn't done the trick. I called the doctors office again today and they decided to call in a different medicine and add ear drops as well onto the daily regimen. So we'll see how she does. If she is not better by Monday then we'll have to call again and get her in by then. It's just a little frustrating for her because I know how much she wants to feel better. This evening she talked to her daddy and asked for him to please pray for her ears to get better soon. She's so tired of not feeling well. Plus we need for her to get better because we're going on a mini-vacation next weekend. More about that later though. :)

Then I decided that I would sell my Blackberry Curve (you know the one I had to have) and instead purchase a new small camera. The Blackberry wasn't really for me and plus I didn't want to have a huge cell phone bill either. I like my little bill just fine. LOL. Well the one that I purchased was the Olympus Stylus 850 SW. It's 8mp and it's also Waterproof, shockproof, and freeze proof. How awesome is that? My cousin has a different model of this camera but absolutely loves it. So this way I can go down on the beach and to the pool and not have to worry about protecting my Canon Camera. Now I'm still going to take that camera but it's only to take some pictures of my parents, Olivia and myself on the beach. :) I'm so excited about getting the camera. Plus I paid under $200 for this camera because normally it would cost me around $250 for it. I got about $100 off the camera. :) Yeah!!! I'm praying that I'll have the camera before I leave for the beach next week. yes that's where we're going next weekend and we can't wait either! Then the next Friday I'll be hoping to go to Kings Dominion since I have that day off from work. It's our holiday day for work. Yeah!

Nothing else has been happening. Just trying to stay calm and have fun and stay cool this summer. I can tell it's going to be hot but fun hopefully!

Moving

I've often wondered what it would be like to live in a different state that I've never lived in on the West Coast. OK so I've never lived anywhere close to the West Coast but still it would be interesting to find out how much it would cost to live there and also to find affordable moving companies Los Angeles. I don't think it would be hard to find the moving company but living I might have a little trouble there. First off yes it would be close to where the stars live but then again I'd be over 3000 miles from my family. So it looks like just for now I'll have to stay put but maybe one day I can at least visit!

Maybe some Remodeling...in the Kitchen

Lately my parents have asked my opinion on several things in the kitchen that could use to have some remodeling done. One of the things is to get new cabinets in there and to have new counter tops down as well. While we're having that redone we might as well look at getting an undermount sink because I think they are so stylish and classic looking as well. Very sleek in my opinion. Another thing that we'd love to have done is new flooring and get a new oven and fridge. Yes I'd love to have the double doors that open up top and the freezer on the bottom...but that's just me. hehehe. I guess one day I'll get that in my own house but it's just a dream really.

Trying new things

Recently I've been trying to get Olivia to try new things at dinner like different veggies and fruits. Last night was the first time that I actually got her to eat something new that she actually likes. It was cantaloupe which happens to be one of my favorite fruits to eat in the summer. Another thing that we have been trying is to tell her to take 2 bites of the new food on her plate without the whining and after she is finished with that and doesn't like it then we won't force her to eat it. But if she does whine and make a fuss at the table then she will be excused from the table until she can act like a nice little girl again. It worked last night with the cantaloupe and I'm so glad too because she realized that it's not that bad after all.

Today I went to work and had a pretty productive day. Again tomorrow will be productive as well and possibly the rest of the week. So that will be nice. Plus I'm not too sure if we are planning on going to Kings Dominion or not this coming up weekend. I'd love to go since we have purchased season passes so we'll see at that point if we go or not. Praying that we will be able to go!!!

Jogging

Since I've started working at the Chiropractic office and getting my back and neck adjusted it's like night and day with the way I walk and the way I feel. I feel so much better and plus the fact that I feel like I could some days go for a little jog. Well since Olivia is much too old to fit into a baby jogger stroller I could always see if I could maybe watch my niece Keali instead. I know that it would be nice to take her out and spend some time with her. Maybe even get Olivia in the action as well.

Changes

Today I went out with one of my best friends and had a good time. We ate lunch at the local favorite Chinese food place and then headed over to the mall. When we were at the mall we walked around for a bit. Then we went on over to have my hair cut. And I mean cut. I decided that since it's summer it was time for a change. I got it cut short and it's stacked in the back. It's really cool feeling and it's really cute too. I absolutely love it!!! Plus it's going to be quick and easy to do in the summer as well. :) Yeah for changes! I am still loving my new job and still saving up for a nice down payment on a car. I'm looking at getting a Chevrolet Malibu so it should be super cool. :) I promise that I'll post pictures of my new do in a little bit. Have to take a good picture of it though.

Slimming Down

This summer I'm looking forward to wearing a swimsuit, going to the beach and getting a tan. Another thing that I'm really looking forward to is to hopefully slimming down by either using some diet pills or by just working out since I've gained 15lbs since starting work. Gah! Anyways, I'm also excited about hopefully getting a nice used car too. I'm really looking at getting either a Honda Accord or a Chevrolet Malibu (which I'm leaning towards more). I'm also looking forward to spending more time with Olivia and also hopefully going to Kings Dominion more often.

Cruises

I have to say that I'm so excited for my sister because in the next couple of weeks she and a few of her friends are going to be going to Europe to go site seeing and traveling. Wow! I'm so happy for them too. Liz can't wait either. I know they are going to have a blast but for me I'd love to travel to Germany or to even look into some European cruises. I've always thought that taking a cruise would be so awesome. Well enough about me but I'm excited for Liz going to Europe and being able to site see. Hopefully she'll come home with awesome pictures from there.

Mudcat's Game

This past Sunday I took Olivia to the Mudcat's Game. We got tickets from the doctor I work for and we had an absolute blast!!! Olivia did very well for it being her first game ever. She really didn't get super fussy until around the end of the 6th inning and so that was the time we decided to leave. Olivia was given some money for her to use to purchase anything she wanted while at the game and just after we got there she purchased herself a Pink and purple hat for her to wear at the game we were in the 2nd inning when she decided it was time for some ice cream. I ended up running into several of my patients while there and had a good chat with them. I have to say that I love my job for sure!!!

Cleaning

So many people these days are trying so many different ways to keep their bodies healthy that I too am trying different things. I have often thought about using Colonix to try and clean out my system too but not too sure how much that will help out? See every time that I eat chinese food my body gets cleaned out too but still it could help out with the weight loss as well for me. I haven't thought too much about that. Plus it will help get out that toxic waste that my body has seemed to build up. I know it might be a little TMI but still if you are one of the people who like to do cleanses of the body you might want to try it out. What do you have to lose right?

New TV Soon?

I've been thinking about getting a new LCD TV for the living room as a gift for the family. I'm hoping and praying that maybe I can find a good deal soon so that we can get one. Since I'm working full time now and love it, I know that updating something for the family would help out so much. I don't have a house payment or car payment at this time, just a credit card payment and a cell phone bill payment so getting something big and nice like this for the family would be awesome. Plus being able to just look at the nice tv would be great too. I guess we'll see if we make the goals for the next quarter so that I can get a good bonus. :)

Our Trip to DC & MD

This past weekend Olivia and I ventured up to Maryland and DC to spend time with one of my best friends and her family. Friday night we didn't get there until around 11pm or so. Of course after the kids went to bed we broke out the alcohol. I had a really good Strawberry Margarita. The next day we all got up early and got the kids ready for the trip to DC and the zoo. We made breakfast and ate then headed on the road. We had to travel to Silver Spring (which I did use to live there too when I was younger) and then parked the van for the metro station. We took the metro to the zoo and the kids had an amazing time on it. They all behaved themselves too. Then we walked 4 blocks to get to the zoo. Overall we had a good time and plan on going back to DC next time we're up there and taking the kids to the National Mall. It should be fun again. Sunday we went over to Lauren's Moms house and had a good luck party for her sister who was leaving for basic boot camp this week. We played volleyball and let the kids play on the slip and slide. Monday we drove back home. I wish we had a Wawa here because I have to say they have some of the best coffee out there besides Dunkin' Donuts.

I can't wait until we plan for our 2nd trip to Maryland. It's going to be great. We will have a lot of fun for sure!!! I do have a few pictures posted on my facebook account but have to get them over to here. Will plan on doing that later on though. Have to get dressed and ready for a doctors appointment. I have seemed to have gotten sick while away. Oh well...I still had an awesome time up there!

I have my new Blackberry Curve phone. I got it yesterday in the mail and wow I love it!!! I have to say that I can't believe I actually have one. I never thought I'd actually get one but my dreams have come true for so many things this year. Like getting a new job that I love and getting a blackberry and just having money to take a trip to Maryland. I have to go to the bank tomorrow while on lunch and deposit some money into there and take the van to get more gas in it. Come to find out I have to take the van to Maryland and I'm not so happy about that but oh well can't control my parents decision about using their car. I'll be so happy when I can afford my own small car and not sure what I'm going to get. I have a few choices that I like but I still have over a year to decide. I'm putting money away in my savings account for it. Anyways, enough blabbing. I still have the rest of my laundry to do and praying I won't have to stay up real but it looks like I'm going to have to. That's a whole other story. Well let me run. I'll write more after my trip to Maryland. I leave tomorrow right after work. :)

Health Insurance

Since starting my new job I've often thought about purchasing some new health insurance like going through Blue Advantage like so many people in North Carolina go through. I've read online that the quotes really are affordable and hopefully I could get a good plan without having a huge deductible. Honestly I never realized how much a high deductible is. Before I worked at the Chiropractics office I figured it was nothing to worry about but honestly it is. So many people have such high deductibles that they have to pay for each visit and each visit could range. So it will be ok once I can get some affordable health insurance for both Olivia and I.

Still trying to lose it

I'm still on the hunt of trying to lose the weight that I've gained over the past 5 years. I have tried Weight Watchers which really actually worked except I hated to count the points and all that fun stuff but since I'm getting a blackberry curve I can maybe do it online using my phone. Well then there's always me trying something else like a pill of some sort. I've been reading online several phenphedrine reviews and checking others out but might actually try something out called Solo Slim which has been recommended to me by several friends. But I'm going to try out everything that I can.

Go Vegas...

Lately I know a few people who have been traveling to Vegas. I wish that I could go but I guess the closest that I'll ever get for know is looking at their pictures. LOL. But if I ever do go to Vegas then I'll be sure to check out several Vegas hotels for the best deals out there because I don't want to spend a lot of money on my stay. I'd rather spend it on gifts for myself and for friends and family. hehehe...I love to shop! Can you tell?
