However, it is not necessary that you PAY these huge fees, I and all my friends did our diplomas evaluations through Educational Credentials Evaluations organization www.ece.org

I will cost you just 85 USD to get the general evaluation which will be good for most purposes (unless you are a health professional, in this case the fees are a bit higher). There are also some specific reports that they put together and fees are very transparent and reasonable.
Hope this information helps you!

EMAdvice Consultantnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2917582820007255207.post-6070946587404857602009-06-03T11:59:00.001-07:002009-06-03T12:05:21.738-07:00Business After Hours networking eventHere is a good event for people living in the subirbs of Chicago for a change:

WHAT: Business After Hours Networking
WHEN: June 23, 6.30 - 9.00 pm
WHERE: D.O.C. WHAT YOU DO IN THE FIRST FEW DAYS IMPACTS WHETHER YOU ARE LOST, MERELY SURVIVE OR THRIVE IN YOUR NEW JOB!

In order to get ahead of the learning curve and become more productive more quickly, you need to look at your new job from your employer’s perspective, so you can prepare to go above and beyond their expectations.

Recently I came across a company that organizes webinars for new employees: it is called Novita and it is based in Chicago. I think the webinars they organize may be especially useful for foreigners because they definitely need to know how to adjust to an American employer.

Here is what their regular 60-minute webinar covers:
The ideal new employee: what every employer wants and expects
Why companies so poorly “onboard” a new employee
Getting ahead of the new employee learning curve
Questions you need your manager to answer, and what not to ask
Your job begins now – preparing for the first day
Before the weeks fly by – objectives for your first month
Top 10 resources to search out (you’ll need them!)
Befriend these people! The author is a Chicagoan who is discussing why the best people have left big companies. If you are thinking about working in a big company or already do this will be interesting for you. The author traveled in 78 countries, and was a senior exec at GE, Citibank and Kawasaki.
