It is a magnificent facility. But, beyond the climate, it is not a taste of Costa Rica. It is the world of "Four Seasons". We did visit the Palo Verde National Park while we were there, taking a pontoon boat tour. We were appalled by the un-eco-consciousness of the park. Fabulous species of birds, crocodiles, and iguanas were visible amid garbage and filth along the shoreline and in the trees. A huge crocodile sunned itself next to an empty 2 liter coke bottle. Tattered plastic bags hung tangled in tree branches. If this is the state of a national park, how awful must be the environment in the rest of the country? Our experience in Costa Rica totally belied the label "ecologically, environmentally conscious" that the press, including USA Today, links with Costa Rica. The country's public relations/marketing agency sure does work. But it isn't true.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
