The latest version of windows(Vista) provide the <a href="http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/features/details/sidebargadgets.mspx">sidebar</a> that contain <a href="http://microsoftgadgets.com/">gadgets</a>. <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desktop_Gadgets">Desktop gadget</a> can also be created by the <a href="http://desktop.google.com/dev/gadgetapi.html">Google api</a>, that works with Google desktop. <a href="http://widgets.yahoo.com/workshop/">Yahoo widget api</a> can also be used to create desktop widget.</p><p>Recently, I got chance to work with gadgets, Basic implementation of google gadget was simple after reading the tutorial they have provided, but our requirement was slightly different.
