I thought of this quote today when I was again listening to the talking heads describe how Gov. Sarah Palin should shut up and sit down.

These political insiders always sing the same song, and haven't learned a thing yet. When the Republicans were elected, it was under the impression that they were conservative. Yet once in power, these conservatives became giddy children running amok in a toy store. They spent money, trampled civil rights, created departments with little control and nearly unequaled power in American History. They forgot all about the nature of Conservatives, the whole smaller Government fiscally responsible side of us. They felt that constant appeals to our patriotism would keep them in power indefinately.

In 2006, they were shown the door and a new group took control of congress with the same old song. Fiscal responsibility and an end to secret deals and more open and responsive representation. So far, this new bunch has outdone the old in doing the exact opposite. They've out spent and out demogogued the old guard.

So am I saying the Republicans are better? No I'm saying they're both corrupt and they sing the same song. Once elected, those promises go out the window.

So what is happening now? The Conservatives are rebelling. So what are the Republicans doing? The same as always, claiming moderates are what give us our strength. Pfui.

Houston just elected a Homosexual Mayor, who ran as a fiscal conservative. So much for the Conservatives are all homophobic and racist.

The Conservatives are rebelling against the big government big brotherism of both parties. When will the parties wake up?

Health Care Reform

House or House MD is a fictional show, which interestingly enough is a good example of what is wrong in our medical world.

In real life, House would not be a Doctor. He couldn't get any malpractice insurance, no one would insure him. His medical license would be revoked, and he would be stuck flipping burgers, with lawyers following him to make sure he didn't so much as advise someone to take an aspirin.

If you've never watched the show, it goes something like this. A patient comes in and has a strange set of symptoms. The Doctors start testing, and coming up with theories, and they start treatments based upon the diagnosis. Inevitably the patient gets worse, and by the time House stumbles on the right answer, inevitably a very rare condition or disease, the patient is knocking on the door to death. In the end, they almost always make a full recovery, with a few notable exceptions.

After the fictional Doctor House treated his first patient, in real life, he would have been sued, and had people screaming for his license. A slick talking lawyer like John Edwards would have convinced a jury that House was a renegade and failed to follow proper precautions and established normal practices. The jury would have awarded millions on the basis of this slick talking lawyer, and House would have been effectively out of a job.

So the question is this. What is malpractice? In my opinion, it's not when the Doctor is doing his very best to try and help/heal you. If he removes the wrong leg, that's malpractice. If he ignores symptoms and perform even a cursory exam, that's malpractice. If he thinks you have one disease, and treats, only to find you have another far more rare condition, that's not malpractice. Sometimes, you play the averages. The average citizen who speaks to you and says they have flu like symptoms has the flu. As close to 100% of the time as you can imagine. There is no need to put them into a full quarantine procedure because the symptoms could also be early stage Ebola.

Fever, aches, some stomach discomfort. You have the flu, especially if it's in your neighborhood or place of employment. You have the flu. No need to see a specialist to determine that it really isn't Ebola. Once in a while, someones not going to have the flu. They're going to have a rare condition or disease. There's a reason we're not looking for that, it's a rare condition. Ebola is very rare, and I would object to suggestions that I had contracted it if I had flu like symptoms.

The trick is for the Doctors to work hard to try and heal you. The other half of that coin, is for you to admit that Doctor's aren't supposed to be perfect, and it might take a few trials and errors to get to the point where you are again healthy or whole. So if you're ever on a Jury in a Malpractice trial, ask yourself this. Is it reasonable to assume the Doctor was trying hard at the time the so called "Mistake" happened? Was he using his best judgement and all of his knowledge and experience? If the answer is yes. Then we have nothing more we can ask of a person. We can't ask that they give us more than their very best.

Team Scazzafava endorses the other Democrat

In a huge blow to the RNC and the RNCC the hand picked far left wing RINO endorsed the other Democrat in the NY 23 race today.

Gee, what were the odds of that?

Hot Air has a quick post from Captain Ed. It's like they have their heads shoved up a certain smelly part of their anatomies.

HotAir, one of my favorite sites, has a blogger named AllahPundit. Allah is a Republican First, tone down the Conservative Rhetoric kind of guy. He's one of those who would easily support McCain, and Republicans like that. He supports Republicans, because they're more moderate than Democrats. Allah likes to make this one mistake though. He thinks other people are just like him. I don't. I think people are either ill informed, or haven't considered the issues if they don't, generally speaking, think along the lines of Conservative principals.

The reason I say this? I've spoken to hundreds, perhaps even a thousand people. In nearly every single situation, I've been able to sway the opinions of the people. By pointing out the lack of logic, and the lack of honesty inherent in the "liberal" or Democratic position. That by the way is only one guy who is chatting people up here and there. People instinctively want to follow the Conservative idea's, and once you get past the all conservatives are racist hate filled evil people nonsense, you get to the point of discussing the issue logically.

What do I do about the Racist hate filled demagoguery? Simple, I point out the Conservatives who are not white. I point out that every single one of them achieved their position through, hard work and education. I point out that President Obama achieved his position through hard work and education. Then I ask why Michelle Obama would tell people in the "hood" not to do what she had done, that is get an education that gives you greater odds of success? Don't become a corporate lawyer she said.

Interesting isn't it? That Michelle as a Corporate Lawyer made six figures a year, and then tells people not to go into the line of work she did?

Why not point to those who have succeeded through hard work and education, and inspire children to emulate them? What's wrong with offering kids the chance to become Astronauts?

To become one, they'll need lots of Math classes, science classes, and good marks in school. Going through pilot training at one of the military branches would held tremendously. Inspire the people, show them what hard work and education can get you. Show them what they can accomplish, if they have the God given talent, and work incredibly hard.

This is a conservative principal, that anyone can accomplish anything, regardless of race, creed, color, religion, or gender. Only Liberals tell you that it's impossible, or nearly impossible, so don't bother trying.

Conservatives celebrate the accomplishments of people, Liberals deride those accomplishments.

Look at the NASA page for the Astronauts, pick a few to read. You'll notice something. They've all got high educational degrees, Most have Master's degrees, and a few have Doctoral Degrees. A vast majority of them are fairly highly ranked from the Military, and all of them are in excellent physical condition. Now, why not inspire your children to reach for the stars? Why not tell the kids that this is possible, but the path is astoundingly difficult, and achievable for a very elite few who work for years to get there?

I can defend Conservative ideas. I can't defend Socialist ideas, because they're morally and logically bankrupt. They tell people that achievement is impossible, despite mountains of evidence to the contrary. This is why I'm an unapologetic Conservative, and why I'm starting to grow annoyed with the Newt Gingrich/AllahPundit/GOP leadership. They would rather apologize for Conservatives, instead of explaining why Conservative principals are superior. They would rather tell the Conservatives to abandon their principals, in favor of the more moderate, unenlightened, easier path of pandering to the uninformed.

Educate them, walk the people through the truth, and then stand back, and let them learn more.

We can't educate the entire country, but I honestly believe we can educate more than 60% of the nation, perhaps even 70% of the nation. Let's do that. Let's tell people why we're conservative, and give the moderate pander masters above the choice. Join us, and bring the GOP with you, or abandon politics, and take the GOP with you.

The Republican Party was formed out of the ashes of the Whigs. We can form the Conservative Party out of the ashes of the Republicans too.

President Obama considering channeling Hitler.

Before you scream that I'm calling President Obama a Nazi, shut up. I'm not. I'm about to explain the title, and if you'll calm down long enough to read it, you'll see what it's about.

The situation in Afghanistan is complicated. The Military experts want one course of action, the politicians want another, and the left wants a third. The problem here is that President Obama is a politician more than a leader. He's a manager, and those folks tend to govern by consensus.

Now let me explain why I said what I did in the title if you don't mind. It has to do with the defense of the "Atlantic Wall" by Germany.

Now, in 1944 Rommel wanted the tanks right down on the beaches, especially Normandy, to repel the attack. He believed that leaving the tanks further inland was suicide because they would be targets of Allied Air Power. They would be destroyed before they could be brought into action at the hands of Allied pilots.

Von Rundstedt on the other hand believed it was paramount to keep the tanks back, where their mobility would be a factor. Besides he argued, putting them on the beach left them open to Allied naval firepower, and they would be destroyed before the Allies came ashore.

In a way, they were both right. It was madness to put the tanks on the beach, they didn't have the mobility they needed to survive combat for more than a few minutes. However, the Nazi's had already learned that they could only move their tanks at night, or they would be destroyed by raiding P-51 aircraft. However, at least with the tanks inland, you had the option of using them to block a break out of the beach head by the Allies. On the beach, they were easy targets of Naval Gunfire.

Hitler made a political decision, giving some tanks to the shore defense, and holding others in reserve under his personal command. Thus the famous sleeping pill incident, where Hitler couldn't be woken to allow those troops to move, giving the Allies a precious few hours to get a toe hold on the Continent.

He split his forces, and that was a blunder of epic proportions. He took the political plan, instead of the militarily smart plan. Rommel was a great field commander, but not on defense. He was a great maneuver General, not a defensive General.

Now, to tie this in with President Obama. The Military wants more troops, the Politicians led by Vice-President Biden want less on a strictly Counter-Terrorism plan.

He's thinking of doing both, increasing the troops, but limiting them to a counter terrorism battle plan. This is madness. It sacrifices soldiers to the image that the President isn't weak on National Defense, while being weak on National Defense.

The White House is trying to craft a plan that is acceptable to all of the different groups. He's trying to show he's reducing activity to the Left wing nutroots on the DailyKos, while he's showing he's tough on National Defense by increasing the troops there. In trying to satisfy all, he'll satisfy none, and the people who pay the price will be the troops left in Afghanistan. They'll be increasingly targeted, as the Islamic Extremists and Terrorists sense weakness in the Americans, and know that victory is near at hand.

In a way, this is how Viet-Nam dwindled to a close, with tens of thousands of troops dying while the Politicians dithered around trying to save face and declare victory. You can't have victory fighting a defensive war. I don't care how good the defensive line is on your football team, if you can't score a touchdown either because your offense sucks, then you'll still lose.

So Mr. President, while you're working towards a political plan, please make a decision first. Do you want to win? If you do, then political half measures are a sure way to lose.

Punish the rich, a very bad populist idea

What made Ronald Reagan unique among Conservatives was his ability to teach us why he believed what he did. It's a trait that is absent in so many of our current Republicans that I wonder if they know what they believe.

You see, if you believe in something, God for example, you'll have no problem telling someone why you believe in God. I believe, because the nature of the Universe screams that God exists. I could go into more detail, but it isn't really germain to this discussion.

Punish the rich we hear all the time. Force them to pay higher taxes, punish them for stealing money from us. Pfui.

What do the Rich do for us the moronic populists scream. Well, they buy things, like Jet Airplanes from Gulfstream. When they don't have money, they don't buy things, like Gulfstream jets. Before you snort and demand to know why they need a jet. I'll offer this, so they can come to your work place half a country away, and figure out how to make the factory, store, or distribution plant more profitable. Or for meetings, or just for vacation getaways. The point is this. It's their money, and they can spend it how they want, if they have it.

Let's talk about those jets for a moment. Those pretty Gulfstreams that we see now and then zipping across the sky, or at airports. Gulfstream makes a darned good jet, arguably one of the best you can buy. People work on those airplanes, making them in the first place, and servicing them, and even flying them. They get paid good money to do so. Just about everyone involved is a union employee.

When the rich aren't buying airplanes, those people employed in building them, are out of a job.

Well, that's too bad right? Sure, 1200 good people are unemployed, but millions all over are, and that is the economy the rich got us into right? WRONG. It's the economy that Washington DC got us into. The FED and the Tresury wanted more power, and they got it, by scaring the people into the recession, and now depression we're in. However, the question of how we got her can be argued later. For now, let's talk aobut how to get out of it.

Ronald Reagan argued, properly, that economy improves when money is in motion. In other words, if the Rich are buying airplanes, then people get hired to build airplanes. Those people buy cars, furniture, TV's etc. All of which has to be manufactured, transported by truckers, who have to be hired to drive it, and salesmen at the store who sell it. So those 1200 employees who were laid off, aren't buying Furniture, Cars, or anything else. Now, the car makers are losing money, and guess what, they're laying people off too.

We've heard how trickle down economics doesn't work. Apparently, Trickle down recession does.

We've all seen it, every community has been hit by it, and it's trickled down and continues to trickle down with each week's unexpectedly high unemployment numbers. Every week we hear how unexpected it is that there are more unemployed.

Why unexpected? Did you think that someone else would buy that Gulfstream Jet? Did you imagine that someone else would need cars? Who? So we watch the experts utterly surprised every week when the numbers are unexpectedly high. You may expect them to go down, I expect them to go up.

You can read a million people's opinion on why Reagan was wrong. You can see for yourself, in your community, that he was dead bang right. So why aren't the Republicans educating the people, the way Reagan did. Explaining, and showing them the truth would go a long way to realistically being able to deal with the problem. Instead, we are fed this populist tripe about the rich needing to pay their fair share.

All of us who are laid off, really appreciate that approach. It means we won't have to worry about our jobs, because even more of us will be unemployed next week. I bet it's just a big of a surprise as the last years worth of surprises.

Same song, same jukebox.

Conservatives are rebelling, because the Republican Party leaders continue to tell us that acheiving the majority through moderation is the most important goal we should have.

Newt Gingrich is using this as his reason for endorsing the liberal Republican (RINO) Scozzafazo in New York. Yes, a Majority is important. What is more important Newt is the principals that the Reagan Republican party once stood for. Lower taxes, less Government, oh yes, more individual liberty.

So let's take a look at some of the great conservative accomplishments that the Moderate managed Republican party has had shall we?

Bankruptcy reform. The lie here was if we reformed the system, credit card rates would fall. Have they fallen? No. What we did was make a system where companies could wipe debt out, but individuals couldn't. That seperate but equal problem has yet to work out.

The PATRIOT ACT which trampled the 4th, 5th, and 6th Amendments. What a victory. Yes, Democrats voted for it too. However, no Conservative should ever have proposed it, nor have voted for it.

I could go on and on. Look at the history in this blog. I have posted often about my disgust with the Republicans.

The question is what are the Republicans going to stand for? Socialism just like the Democrats, but only slower? That's not a principal I can get behind. Nor is it a principal that anyone should get behind.

The Democrats are running towards pure Socialism as fast as they can, while the Republican Moderates, those whom people like me call RINO's, suggest we can get there better jogging. I don't want to get there at all. Not running, nor jogging. I want to head in the other direction. Smaller Government, less Government intrusion, and more personal liberty.

So the Republican party is once again suggesting that we play along, and support the Moderates, and really understand that we can't do anything unless we have the majority. What are we going to do? Slow the sprint to socialism to a jog?

This is why the Repubicans are out of power. They campaign as sort of Conservatives, populist conservatives, and rule as Democrat Lite. I don't want Democrat/Socialist principals. I want Conservative ideals and principals. So no, I won't contribute to the national parties or committee's. The national party is full of loonies who think that Democrat Lite is the way to win.

We tried that, we had John McCain, the Maverick, the loved by the Liberals, so long as he's beating up on Conservative Republicans. He was the RINO's dream candidate. He believed in everything that Obama does, just not so stridently. He was a Democrat Lite candidate, and was soundly trounced.

So what have the Republicans learned? Nothing. Jack Squat to quote the SNL joke. The candidates that did well, ran as conservatives. The candidates who ran as Moderates didn't do so well. So we've learned, we need more moderate candidates.

The Democrats are going to get their wish, the Republicans are going to self destruct. While trying to get the NY Times and MSNBC to like them, they're going to keep the Voters pissed at them.

You think some of them would have learned that the Moderate approach is a failure every time it's tried.

Perhaps we should become more like Europe.

I have long scoffed at the idea of becoming more like Europe. I have long derided those who think we should do just that. However, I may have been wrong, and I may have to reconsider.

What event you might ask, has made me want to reconsider my position on Europe being essentially socialist and far less free? The answer is this. Stockholm Sweeden is burning Bunnies to generate heat for the population.

Now, I for one have eaten rabbit, and I found it to be rather tasty. I've never considered merely burning the rabbits to generate heat though. It's not a dirty old petrolium product, and they certainly reproduce faster than trees do. Apparently I haven't considered this, but Sweeden may be on to something here. The perfect energy source. Rabbits breeding as they do. The old phrase like rabbits comes to mind. We could easily establish some areas for them to do just that, local parks and similar areas comes readily to mind. Talk about your renewable energy source. It almost boggles the imagination with the possibilities doesn't it?

Of course, it does also turn the stomach, and evoke a visceral response of Ewww.

Well Liberals, is this a practice of Europe's that we should emulate? Perhaps this is how they help pay for that universal health care they "enjoy". Perhaps this is how they establish compliance with that Kyoto thing. Burning rabbits to generate heat. A renewable energy source I'd rather not become familiar with.

Sweeds, check this out mate. You can eat the rabbit. They are very good to eat. I am not opposed to hunting, I just think you're supposed to eat what you kill. Not merely burn it for warmth.

Long time, no blog

For many months, I haven't been blogging. There are a number of reasons, personal and professional, which I won't bore you with here.

What I will say is, I wanted to blog about this subject, Guns. Mayor Bloomberg of NYC is hoping to close the "Gun Show Loophole" with his investigative report. His argument is like this. Roughly 30% of the firearms acquired by criminals are gotten through private person to private person transfer, the so called loophole, and thus we must close this loophole.

Mr. Mayor, forgive me, but that is the lamest argument that I've ever heard. Let's be honest for a moment shall we? Criminals rarely consider the law, which is why we call them criminals. By your own statements, at least 70% of the criminals who get their hands on guns, aren't doing so by this loophole. Obviously, this loophole is a major problem, because then 100% of the guns that criminals get would be via the other means, stolen, black market, etc.

This however is a great example of how Government always loves the plan that doesn't work. Let's see how other restrictions and bans have worked. Drugs, illegal, are they still redily available? You bet. We restricted the sale of psudophed in an effort to curb the production of Crystal Meth. The result? According to the DEA, a 518% increase in Meth production. Yes, it increased five fold thanks to the ban limiting access to the vital chemicals.

So we arrest grandmothers who have a husband and daughter get ill about the same time, but we haven't done much to reduce or eliminate Meth production. I bet granny learned not to flaunt the law. How about those meth dealers though, have they learned? Yes, they have. They've learned to get their drugs from Mexico, and they've learned to avoid law enforcement traps. We catch grandma, but we don't catch the criminals.

The reason is simple. We don't punish law breakers when we catch them. If we were serious about some of these laws, we'd attach the death penalty to possession of, or distribution of, many of the drugs. Let's face it, a dead guy can't sell the drugs. We aren't serious though, because we keep restricting those of us who use it legally, but ignoring those who don't.

Perhaps I'll start blogging more frequently again, but this couldn't be passed up. Mr. Mayor, bust the people who break the law, and leave the rest of us alone.

Octopus arms reaching for your arms.

The danger of the octopus is not only that it has a strong arm, but that it has eight such arms to grasp it's prey with. IN this case, the giant Octopus is the Government, and it's prey, is your guns. I've previously blogged on the comments of the Attorney General who said that the Administration would implement the Assault Weapons ban. You know, the ban that didn't reduce violence in the nation? Yeah, that ban. The one that prohibited scary looking weapons, since Fully Automatic Weapons have been banned for seventy years.

First, the Department of Defense changed policy to require that all brass from fired shells be mutilated as part of the surplus sale. What this means is that the Military Brass, which is never reloaded for Military use, is sold to other companies that do reload, for civilian use. Those uses include law enforcement and marksmanship training programs. This brass is valuable, worth about $2.40 per pound as long as it is in the form of usable shell cases. As just scrap brass, it's worth about $.20 per pound. Yes, you read that right, the Military recoups some of its expense by selling things it can't use anymore, like these spent shells.

I want to take a moment and confirm that these are empty brass cases, not live ammunition. They have to be reconditioned, and reloaded, before they are live shells again.

So why would the Department of Defense change policies on this profitable sale and instead require all the brass to be mutilated to the point it couldn't be reloaded? To create or exacerbate an ammunition shortage in the civilian market apparently.

This policy after being brought to light and some questions being asked, has been reversed, but why was it put into place in the first place? Could it be symptomatic of a Second Amendment Detesting Administration? It could.

After the attacks on September 11, 2001, the people of this nation took almost a year to convince the Government that we wanted the pilots to have weapons for their own, as well as all of our defense. The Department of Transportation objected, and they looked asinine as hell explaining how dangerous it would be if a Terrorist was able to get his hands on the gun secured in the cockpit of the aircraft. Yes, the danger is that after the Terrorist has taken over the plane, he might shoot out the window of the plane as he flies it into a building.

Yet, since taking office, the Obama Administration has essentially shut down the training and certification process, thus leaving us again at the mercy of the terrorists. Why would they do this? Is their hatred of an armed populace so great as to cause them to demand we're all defenseless from the slobbering beasts who want to fly our planes into buildings killing 3,000 of us? This program was the last line of defense, and was voluntary for the pilots, not required.

Now, it's gone, and with it that last line of defense that we as citizens fought so long, and hard, to get. Adios last line of defense, I hope that the Terrorists are tripped up by the "Have you packed your own bag?" question at the screening point.

Ok, so what else on the civil defense front could give us all pause to consider? How about Military Police Soldiers being sent by no one knows who, to do no one knows what, in the streets of an Alabama town. Yes, I know, Posse Commitatus. They can't do that, but guess what, they did. The Provost Martial was apparently also there, commanding 22 soldiers of the Fort Rucker Military Police in the streets of Alabama during the publicized shooting spree there.

The Military has no authority outside of the Fort. They have no jurisdiction. The whole reason for the Posse Commitatus act was to prevent some Military Jaunta from firing up.

Now, for the Conspiracy Theory minded among you. Is it possible that someone jumped the gun, deciding that the shooting spree while a horrible tragic event, was really phase one of some insurrection and the Military executed prepared orders for such an event?

It is as plausible an explanation as any that is being offered by the Military. That explanation is that they don't know who sent them, and they don't know who requested them, and they have no idea what 22 soldiers, who may, or may not have been armed, were doing securing any civilian areas in a small Alabama town.

The arms of this Octopus are pretty big, and seem to be reaching everywhere.

American Auto Industry is doomed.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I make that announcement convinced of it being absolutely right.

The American Auto Industry has announced that they need $4 a gallon gasoline as the average minimum price across the nation in order to sell the mandated automobiles from Washington. Yes, you read that right. If the minimum Gasoline Price is not at least $4 a gallon, people don't want those Hybrid cars that Washington Politicians legislated onto the company. If people don't want the cars, then Ford can't build more, because they have thousands of cars they can't sell now. Why build more that you can't sell?

Obviously, you can't sell them, so you have no reason to build them. While Washington may think it's a good idea to mandate such cars, apparently the consumer, that would be you and I think that the hybrids are too expensive and not worth the trouble. Despite the promises to the contrary about how simple and easy they are, we the average people with common sense know that when you combine two technologies like this, you merely double the probability of something going wrong, and double the number of things that will eventually break.

Michael J. Otherwise, Americans will continue to favor big vehicles, not matter what kind of fuel-economy standards the government imposes on auto makers. Four dollars a gallon, he added, “is a good start.”

Mr. Jackson’s stand – in the past he’s called for increasing gasoline taxes 10 cents a year for 10 years – elicited some support at the conference, which examines issues affecting business and the environment.

Mr. Jackson, the problem isn't that the gasoline is too cheap, the problem is that Political interference in the operation of a business is making it impossible to be in business.

It's time for the business's to start closing, so that the Politicians are faced with angry mobs of voters who demand that we repeal the legislation making it impossible for companies to manufacture products that the people want.

Don't Enlist. Do Not Re-Enlist

When I was in the Army, we were taught the mistakes we had made in the past, and the policies that these mistakes have led to.

We don't leave our injured or dead behind. We take them with us, we leave no one behind period. We will not have any unaccounted for casualties period. This is a direct result of the Missing men from our historical wars, including Viet-Nam.

Another policy, we will take care of our troops. We will care for one another, and we will not tolerate anyone who does not care for the soldiers in command. When I enlisted, and even when I re-enlisted, and when I got my Honorable Discharge after nine years of service, I believed that the Army would care for their troops. I believed the country would care for their troops. I left to pursue other opportunities, to make way for the younger, hard charging troops that I had led as a Sergeant.

I have advised several young people, male and female, to consider the Military. Telling them the truth of my own service, and my own experiences. Now, for the first time in my life, I am advising people NOT to enlist. That's right. The military should not be an option for you dear citizen reader. It should be rejected as a potential for post high school employment or career.

My advise is simple, don't enlist. Don't re-enlist if you're now currently in. Run, don't walk, from the Military as quickly as you legally can.

Now, I know what my fellow conservatives will say. They will say I've betrayed the code of Conservative thought. That I am supposed to love, and defend this country. I do, and I have defended this country. I'm supposed to love our troops, the men and women risking life, and limb to serve this nation. I do love and respect them. That is why I feel morally bound to advise this extreme course of action. Don't enlist, and don't re-enlist.

My reasons? I am troubled by the reports that President Obama wishes to submit our troops to the International Criminal Court. That however is not enough to cause me to make the above recommendation. No, that is not enough by far.

Today however, I've read enough, and therefor I must, must make that suggestion. Hot Air highlighted the reports earlier, that the US Government wanted to bill private insurance companies for treatments given to Vet's for service related injuries and care. Yes, you read that right. The Obama Administration want's to throw our troops under the bus, and leave their long term care to the whims of an insurance company while we as a Nation even now consider Universal Health Care, but apparently not for the bravest among us.

Like you, I found this so amazingly ill conceived, that I imagined it was a trial balloon, floated just so it could be shot down. I was wrong. Hot Air followed up on this story by highlighting the meeting of the Commander of the American Legion with President Obama. The report, you bet Obama is serious about this, he thinks he can save the taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars.

So what would be the result? Veterans would become poison pills to companies already buried under rising health care costs, and they would not be hired if anyone else could be found for the job. Veterans would be leading the unemployment lists in other words.

The fact that we're turning our backs on our Veterans is incredible, and we're doing so pretending it's the smart thing to do. It is absolutely wrong. It is absolutely immoral, and unthinkable.

So the nation chooses to break faith with the Military men and women, then the Nation is not deserving of their sacrifice. If I am untrustworthy, you would be ill advised to be my friend. If I have promised to betray you in the future, you would be unwise to work for me.

My friends, I'm sorry to say, but if you join the Military now, you will, not may, will absolutely be betrayed by the Government you swear an oath to risk your life for. They have just promised to do that very thing, betray you.

If you are in the Military now, please begin to consider options for your future careers out of the military. If you are considering joining the Military, please consider other employment options. Consider a trade school, or a skill training program. Please don't allow yourself to be betrayed by the Government that may ask the ultimate sacrifice from you.

I am writing this, and saying this because I do respect the service you give to this nation. I respect the level of duty that you feel towards this nation. I understand the desire to serve this nation, and it's people. They would be worthy if they lived up to the promises given in the past. Instead, I believe they will live up to this new promise, using you like a rag, and then throwing you away.

I can't just sit here mute. I feel honor bound to tell you of my advice in this matter.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://maxconservative.blogspot.com/2009/03/dont-enlist-do-not-re-enlist.html' title='Don't Enlist. Encourage them to do more.

Finally taking a break from screwing up the economy, or paying off political campaign debts to contributers, the Congress has passed a resolution I can for one, get behind. They passed a resolution recognizing March 14th, as Pi day. Yeah, that circle thing, 3.14 is pi right?

Now, you may wonder why I am so happy about this, and want Congress to do more of it? Simple. The fixes they have proposed to screw up the economy, and to destroy the health care industry are incredibly moronic. Yet, they have the power to do just that. Ban firearms? You betcha they want to. However, if they spend all their time doing terribly chic and utterly inconsequential things like this, then they won't be screwing up the nation any more than they have. So I am encouraging the Congress to do just this, pursue all the little things you want, that don't screw up the country. Put Porculus II on the back burner, we have other things to consider, like ATM fees, don't we need another round of hearings on ATM fees? It's been a long time since we considered those types of things hasn't it?

How about Campaign Finance Reform? I mean, it's been almost eight years since we passed McCain Feingold, don't we need to consider Campaign Finance Reform? Isn't that far more important to the American People than say giving the workers of the nation over to harassment, intimidation, and coercion by Union Thugs via Card Check?

Come on Congress, keep this kind of thing up, and we just might survive the Jimmy Carter second term under President Obama.

Of course, since Vice-President Biden is now in charge of Recovery, Accountability, and Transparancy, including a newly named panel, or board to help him oversee it. You know it's going to be a whole new Government right?

Yes, Vice President Biden is now in charge of the RAT board. You can't make this kind of thing up. Apparently they are so busy in Washington creating new departments and panels that they never stopped to consider that one for more than a second.

Now you know why I want more things like Pi day out of Congress. While stupid, it does at least make us as a nation look less like a collection of short bus kids than the RAT board headed by VP Biden.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://maxconservative.blogspot.com/2009/03/house-passes-good-resolution-encourage.html' title='House Passes good Resolution. I included that so the Liberals couldn't complain that the first link went to Townhall, and that means it's merely right wing propaganda. I included both links to show it's across the spectrum of News Organizations.

Moderate members of the Taliban. Isn't that like trying to deal with Moderate Members of the KKK? Or Moderate Members of the Nazi Party? Isn't that like trying to deal with Moderate Members of any extremist fringe organization? How do you find Moderate Members of an organization like the Taliban? Do you find ones who don't think educated women should be stoned to death for being educated? Do you try and find the ones who think that acid attacks on school girls may be a bit extreme?

Do you try and find the one guy out of a thousand who thinks that women aren't property?

Where do you start your definition of Moderate regarding the Taliban? This group is barbaric, inhumane, and frankly more closely resembles governments in history that were banished by the combined efforts of many nations. What kind of Moderate Fascist can you hope to find?

The Obama Administration explained away their thoughtless behavior concerning the arrival of Prime Minister Gordon Brown of England by telling the English Paper's that they were simply in over their heads right now. Seriously, and if that is the reason they embarrased all of us in the nation, regarding our special friendship, that apparently ended when President Obama was elected, then I have to wonder how much thought they put into this.

The real views of many in Obama administration were laid bare by a State Department official involved in planning the Brown visit, who reacted with fury when questioned by The Sunday Telegraph about why the event was so low-key.

The official dismissed any notion of the special relationship, saying: "There's nothing special about Britain. You're just the same as the other 190 countries in the world. You shouldn't expect special treatment." The apparent lack of attention to detail by the Obama administration is indicative of what many believe to be Mr Obama's determination to do too much too quickly.

Yeah, nothing special about England, who's always had our back, and we've always backed them since World War One? It's probably the same dolt who told England that there is nothing special about our relationship with them. In the mean time, we're trying hard to re-establish ties with the bankrupt nation of Cuba, to normalize relations with them, while we're taking a dump on our friends from around the world. Great move Mr. President. Get your enemies to hate you a little less, but still hate you, while your friends move from like, to dislike.

Apparently, the Change we could believe in, was letting the amateur hour winners move into the pinnacle of prime time slots. All I can say is, how humiliating for me as an American.

Gordon Brown, the Prime Minister of England, who has all the economic troubles we have at home, brought what can only be described as absolutely thoughtful gifts.

Mr Brown’s gifts included an ornamental desk pen holder made from the oak timbers of Victorian anti-slaver HMS Gannet, once named HMS President.

Mr Obama was so delighted he has already put it in pride of place in the Oval Office on the Resolute desk which was carved from timbers of Gannet’s sister ship, HMS Resolute.

Another treasure given to the U.S. President was the framed commission for HMS Resolute, a vessel that came to symbolise Anglo-US peace when it was saved from ice packs by Americans and given to Queen Victoria.

Finally, Mr Brown gave a first edition set of the seven-volume classic biography of Churchill by Sir Martin Gilbert.

Well Liberals, guess what the One gave in return? Guess what thoughtful present to reaffirm our special relationship with England could have possibly be given by President Obama, the most loved President of our era?

A box set of 25 DVD's of classic American Films. Yes, I kid you not. Apparently, the President is a Prime member of Amazon. His thoughtful gift to the Brown Kids? Models of the Whitehouse, straight from the Gift Shop, probably with the price tag still on it.

Seriously, can you think of anything more tacky? I completely understand why the Prime Minister didn't want to say anything about it when he got home. Imagine his humiliation. He got snubbed, no Rose Garden or major presser. Just a hi how are you to the Press with the President, and then this.

I understand if our Special Relationship suffers a bit during this administration. I hope Sec State Clinton is smart enough to issue some instructions to the Ambassador we have in England right now. With a little luck, we can hope that the State Department was able to intercept the Walmart Gift Card I'm sure was in there somewhere. Although I'm sure that the Obama's, big labor friends that they are, wouldn't give that upon due consideration.

You know, the egotistical people that the Obama's are turning out to be, I would have expected them to at least shell out enough money to get the Brown's one of these. Tacky, yes. However, not nearly as bad as a set of DVD movies. I mean, he didn't even give an autographed copy of his own book to the Prime Minister.

Come on Mr. President, all those book sales, you decided to recycle an unwanted Christmas Gift?

Liberals, I ask you. Is this a huge diplomatic blunder of nearly epic proportions? Good lord, what's he going to do next. The New New Raw Deal is likely to prolong the Depression just as it's namesake, the New Raw Deal did in the 1930's.

Like Nixon, he's created an enemies list, and actively works to marginalize the people on that list. Now, I have to ask our Libs out there. Are you happy with what Obama is doing? Is this the Change you Hoped for?

In the first two months, he's done everything you accused the Bush Admin of doing over a period of eight years, not less than eight weeks, and still you support him? He's using tactics that History has panned, denigrated, and denounced. Yet, you still back the President in these activities?

This isn't about race, and the color of the President's skin. This is about policy. Policy that is good for America, or Policy that is bad for America. Having a President who maintains an enemies list and puts people on it that are vocal about the mistakes and excesses that the Government takes is not Change, it is the old school Chicago Thug style of Politics. The Change would be in leaving that behind.

President Jimmy Carter had a higher Approval Rating two months into his administration than President Obama has now. President Carter, generally considered to be one of the Worst Presidents in History, had a higher approval rating than President Obama does now. Do you realize what that means? It means that this President is in fact, Historic. We're going to see new lows of performance by an administration, and new highs of public discontent.

Anyone who opposes the Policies of the President is labeled an enemy. Not just Rush Limbaugh either. There are others, who oppose the economic policies of the President, and have been targeted by the ultimate Bully Pulpit for destruction. Again I ask the Liberals who view this, is this the Change you Hoped for?

As we slide towards Socialism, I have to wonder what we hope to gain? Not a better economy, Venezuela is demonstrating yet again that a centrally planned economy is a guaranteed failure. It succeeds only in making everyone equally miserable, and apparently hungry as well as bereft of electricity.

We elected the most Socialistic of the candidates, and we're getting the change we were warned about. I'm not surprised, are you?

Of course we're coming for your guns. With people boggled at the audacity of hopelessness in a proposed $1.15 Trillion deficit for the year 2010, you want to go after "Assault Rifles" today?

The Obama Administration is off the chain already. They're losing it already. Even Clinton waited until 1994 to go after guns, and spent two years trying to sell it to the American People. The fact that the hype was all lies, well that's another story right Socialist Libs?

Well, good news is the Republicans have a rallying cry to get the Conservatives and Gun Owners up in arms and out to the polls on election day in 2010. In Fantasy Land, you get equal outcome, regardless of effort or talent. This Fantasy Land is populated by people who think that Marx had it right on economic policy, that the value of a thing depended only on how many man hours went into it. The product was merely the sum of the labor put into it.

President Obama lives in Fantasy Land. A recent commentator lives in Fantasy Land.

Now, I've read the Obama Speech to Congress. I'm also not surprised that the legislation proposed is exactly what I expected, more big government spending, the New Raw Deal II. The original New Raw Deal being the FDR policy that extended the Depression for a full decade.

So what does the world think of our New President? They love him. He's so charismatic. He's also living in Fantasy Land.

In order to save our children from a future of debt, we will also end the tax breaks for the wealthiest 2% of Americans. But let me perfectly clear, because I know you'll hear the same old claims that rolling back these tax breaks means a massive tax increase on the American people: if your family earns less than $250,000 a year, you will not see your taxes increased a single dime. I repeat: not one single dime. In fact, the recovery plan provides a tax cut - that's right, a tax cut - for 95% of working families. And these checks are on the way.

But the Math doesn't seem to hold up. Economists warn that even taxing all earnings over $500,000 at a rate of 100% would produce less than 1/3 of the total Federal Budget. Now, what would be the outcome of such a tax increase?

Let's take the recently panned private jet ownership shall we? Gulfsteam makes Personal and Corporate jets. They make very good ones. Arguably the best in the business. No one is going to buy a jet if they are earning a paltry $500,000 a year. That means hundreds of jobs at Gulfstream are lost. Gulfstream would not be alone. Many jobs producing luxury items would be lost, and servicing those items, like the Gulfstream jets mentioned above? Consider it about 5% of our well paid workforce, good jobs for people, lost.

Liberals love to live in Fantasy Land, because they don't have to deal with reality. So I'm sitting back, and enjoying the march to Socialism, knowing that soon enough, the economy will collapse, as all Socialist economies must. The Soviet Union has demonstrated it, the British Economy demonstrated this undeniable fact. Yet, for some reason, it's the first answer we rush to when Washington is involved. Apparently, Liberals are in Denial.

The Obama plan. Higher unemployment, turning a recession, into a Depression, and extending it for a decade or more. If that's not his plan description, it will certainly be the result.

So this is the change we can believe in? Recycling the old ideas, and pretending that they're new, and they work, despite the fact that they've never, not once, worked in history.

Democrats and Republicans are to blame, because they love to spend money. We need a new political party. The cheapskate party, the one that spends only when they must, and practices thrift in their lives, and their governing.

Parental Rights versus Rights of the Child

A UN Treaty that President Clinton signed, but the Senate failed to Ratify languishes in limbo but is about to be resurrected by Senator Barbara Boxer. This document gives the Government absolute authority in raising your children. Of course, the Liberals in Government who love Government answers to problems, are in favor of this.

The main reason to ratify this? Why Somalia and the United States are the only nations who haven't, and that's embarrassing.

I must be old fashioned. I believe it's not only the Parents right, but the Parents duty to teach the children not only the difference between right and wrong, but the moral foundation that is the foundation of those ideas of right and wrong. This is one of many problems I have with experts in rearing children. Those experts confuse fuzzy headed wishful thinking with logical common sense truth.

I have wondered for years how much truth there is to the idea that Psychology and Sociology exist to make the immoral normal. From my observations of the so called experts, I think there may be a bit more truth to that than I did before. The idea of this Treaty being given more than a cursory glance and then rejected out of hand is asinine.

The idea that President Clinton actually signed it is even more foolish, and the idea that President Obama would consider signing it, and there are actually supposedly wise people who want it signed demonstrates we are beyond the line de-marking the end of foolish, and living in stupidville.

Liberals, answer me this. What good does this Treaty do? It gives a panel of UN "experts" sway over raising our children. It could make it a crime to communicate the morals and ideals you hold as sacred and absolute.

Let's for example, consider this. You consider the consumption of meat to be immoral. You communicate this to your child. You convince your child that you are right, and the only moral answer is to become a Vegan. Some doctors agree that you are wrong, and the Government takes your children from you because the law says they must. The Government spends years telling the children that you are insane and dangerous to them. When you finally get to visit you child, they want nothing to do with an insane person like you. Impossible you say?

Then show me a law that has never been abused. The AMT, or Alternative Minimum Tax for example. This tax was intended to target 155 households that paid little or no tax. An outrage according to the Liberals, that 155 households out of more than 200 Million people were using the tax laws the Government passed to pay little or no tax. We had to pass a law to punish those people who were playing by the rules.

Now of course, tens of thousands of households are subject to the AMT, and this is one example. Giving power to Government is never a wise choice. Signing and ratifying this Treaty is such a colossally bad idea, it will probably happen in the next couple months.

Obama's speech

I didn't post about it, because I didn't watch it. Nor did I watch Governor Jindal's response. Horrible of me? I don't think so.

I expect more of the same from Washington. I'm still convinced that if we had elected John McCain we'd have pretty much the same policies we have now. That was his platform.

I've just about decided that there isn't a dimes worth of difference between the parties. The Democrats have become socialist, and the Republicans have become Democrats. The end of that road isn't even in doubt, it's socialism, and the only choice we're given is how fast we get there.

Sometime today, I may read President Obama's speech. I honestly don't think I'll be surprised at anything. The argument that his speech was to be Reaganesque turned me off long before the speech was given. Reagan was a conservative, who believed that people had the keys to greatness themselves. Obama is a Socialist who believes that Government holds the keys to the people's greatness. How do you claim one is like the other?

Government in danger of falling in Mexico

Things are bad in Mexico, the drug cartels are really running the country. Kidnappings for ransom are on the rise. More than 700 in 2007, and while I don't have the numbers for 2008, they were on the rise in the early part of the year.

The Mayor of Juarez Mexico has moved his family to El Paso Texas, and is reported to be sleeping there. Imagine that if you will, your local Mayor is so threatened that he can't stay in town, and in fact, has to go to another country to sleep at night with a moderate amount of safety.

The Governor of Chihuahua was attacked, but it's claimed that the attack on his convoy was a disagreement between his bodyguards and some random armed gunmen.

First, that the Governor needs a Convoy to travel, a convoy of armed men to protect him is disturbing. Then to seriously claim that the attacks are merely the result of minor disagreements with random roving bands of men armed with automatic weapons. Hello? Does anyone but me find that a little thin?

Then the Gang Violence is spilling over into the United States. I suppose this is a plus for the Open Boarders gang, but for the rest of us, it's proof positive that an open boarder is very dangerous for AMERICANS.

The Homeland Security representative agreed that the Violence from the Drug Cartels continues to rise in the United States, and that is international in nature. Yet, for some reason no one says it's time to close the boarder with Mexico and seal it tight.

The Government wanted a Virtual Fence. I wanted strands of Barbed Wire, Razor Wire, Minefields, and men in towers with Machine Guns. I wanted the DMZ from North Korea transported to the United States to protect our citizens.

I also want ways to cross that boarder, legally. I want Ellis Island like processing stations where immigrants can be health screened and background checked and then welcomed to the United States as Resident Aliens on the path to Citizenship.

In short, I want to protect the citizens of the United States, and the Government seems to want to protect the good working relationship we have with the Mexican Government.

Here is the problem, the Government in Mexico, isn't really in charge. They are elected, but the Cartels are really running the show. It is as if Mexico embraced the hype of Chicago during Prohibition, and the gangs really are in charge. Would you want Al Capone to be the one calling the shots in your town?

Reforming the Immigration Process to streamline and more readily welcome immigrants, coupled with closing the boarder is the only answer that could possibly work. Why aren't we doing it?

Conservative Truthers on Display.

Truthers, the often maligned, and properly maligned, group that claims that 9-11 was an inside job to help the Military Industrial Complex get another war going have found friends on the Right. These people believe that President Obama is not an American Citizen, and thus ineligible for the Presidency.

This time, it's an Army Officer who is refusing to follow President Obama's orders because of the constitutional question.

A U.S. soldier on active duty in Iraq has called President Obama an "impostor" in a statement in which he affirmed plans to join as plaintiff in a challenge to Obama's eligibility to be commander in chief.

This Lieutenant, much like Lieutenant Watada, should spend more time learning his trade as an Officer. The Constitution, nor the Military Regulations, gives you the authority to question such things.

First of all, President Obama is the President of the United States. End of discussion. The argument is silly beyond that. If as the proponents of this theory state, President Obama was not born in the United States, then it is still not relevant in my humble opinion. The laws in force at the time may indeed have said that his Mother was too young to transfer citizenship. However, the laws were asinine then, and have since been corrected.

I railed against Lieutenant Watada because of one simple thing. It is his sworn duty to obey his orders, providing they are legal and lawful. Trying to find some asinine loophole is stupid. Illegal orders are usually pretty obvious, because soldiers are taught what is legal, and what isn't. Firing on a group of civilians is illegal. Firing on a group of people in civilian clothing with weapons who are making hostile moves towards you, including aiming and or firing at you is absolutely legal.

Lieutenant Easterling will be charged under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, and found guilty, for making disloyal statements, and conduct unbecomming an Officer, and probably failure to obey the lawful orders of his commander in chief. He'll be discharged dishonorably, just as Lieutenant Watada is destined to be.

The Watada case is currently in Legal Limbo, because the Federal Court has decided it has jurisdiction. It doesn't really. There is no grounds for the claim of the Federal Court. A mistrial is just that. Some violation of the rules has made it impossible for a jury to make a decision. The case is retried, and essentially the case is done over.

That is normal, and no mistrial before has ever been ruled to be a double jeopardy violation. That comes from being found innocent, and then being retried for the same charges. Additionally, the Federal Court is not part of the appeals process in the Military. It goes from the Courts Martial, to the Commander, to the Court of Military Appeals, and then to the Supreme Court, and is judged not by Civilian Law, but by Military Regulations.

The Courts Martial of Lieutenant Watada will pick up, and he'll be found guilty. The Courts Martial of Lieutenant Easterling will start before long, and he'll be found guilty. The basic facts are not in dispute, and that means that the Officers in Question did knowingly violate the Military Regulations.

People, let this nonsense go. We have a ton of issues that really deserve our attention. We have issues that go beyond our political parties, and we're left squabbling about nonsense while the real damage is done to our nation.

English meet French below the waves.

In an oops of epic proportions, a French Ballistic Nuclear Missile Submarine collided with a British Ballistic Nuclear Missile Submarine. Yes, you read that right. Two nuclear powered submarines carrying Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles collided in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

Now, I would normally chuckle and shake my head at this and then move along, however the comments from the Sun's Defense Editor made me hesitate and reconsider my planned inaction regarding this story.

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: arial; The submarines in question are the very epitome of silence. They are so quiet that listening for them has been likened to trying to find a lightbulb by sound underwater. That's because we don't use active sonar, that's the classic ping sound that the world war II movies have trained us all to believe is standard practice on submarines. It isn't. The reason is that like a cop with a flashlight, he can see a way, but we can see him a hell of a lot farther off and avoid him.

The Boomers as they are called are literally designed and built to be utterly silent, because their mission is strategic deterrence, and God Forbid, delayed launch of Nuclear Weapons.

If they were easy to find, then they wouldn't deter anyone from attacking us would they? No, not when a third of your nuclear capability can be destroyed by any old dolt with a fishing boat and a miracle ear.

Now, a wannabe statistician in the comments of the story said that he considered it highly unlikely that two Submarines would be in the exact same place at the exact same time. Improbable, doesn't mean impossible. If a thing can happen, it will eventually. It need not be given some hidden sinister motive to be real. It was an accident, and they will happen from time to time.

The nature of international relations are such that we must have a big stick ready to smack people with to protect ourselves. Sad but true, and I don't see it changing anytime soon.

These are strategic as opposed to tactical assets. Now, if you must have it explained to you the difference, then I will try. Tactical is a short term gain, like sinking an enemy warship that is threatening your fleet. The tactical advantage is shifted by that action. Strategic is larger, more lasting importance. Bombing the repair facilities that are required to fix your enemies fleet. If you can't fix your ships, then your fleet ceases to be effective rather quickly. Boomers are strategic, in other words, they are meant to do long lasting damage to an enemy, not tactical, as in tracking and shadowing other submarines.

It was an accident, that's all. Thank God no one was hurt. They happen, life is risky, and service is even more risky. That is sort of the point you know, to have people who think your nation is so awesome that they are willing to risk life and limb to protect it.

The purpose of a Military is not bragging rights, the purpose is to defend your nation. This accident won't make me think any less of the British Navy. Nor will it make me think that they are less than competent. Accidents happen, and we should learn from them, and try and figure out how to avoid them in the future.

I salute the British Navy, you have long held my respect.

Paul Krugman: It's all the Republicans Fault.

Certainly, that's been the subject of nearly every Paul Krugman piece ever written. If only the Republicans would just shrivel up and die, we could move this nation into the waiting arms of properly planned socialism and be done with this fantasy of capitalistic individualism.

Liberals like Paul Krugman like to believe that a Centrally Planned economy works. Despite the long and demonstrable evidence to the contrary, the Liberals insist it will work, this time. After all, Marx said that all value is derived from the worker.

Paul Krugman is really upset right now. Because the spending bill known as Porkulus isn't big enough. We don't know what would be good enough for Mr. Krugman, I shudder to think that nearly $800 Billion isn't enough wasteful spending for him.

He is very upset indeed, because the Republicans didn't play along and slobber over the collection of special interest pork and vote for it like they were supposed to. Seriously, despite the win, Krugman wanted the same thing that President Obama wanted, which was the ability to blame the Republicans for voting for it when the mid-term elections come up, and the economy is still in the toilet.

For while Obama got more or less what he asked for, he almost certainly didn't ask for enough. We're probably facing the worst slump since the Great Depression. The Congressional Budget Office, not usually given to hyperbole, predicts that over the next three years there will be a $2.9 trillion gap between what the economy could produce and what it will actually produce. And $800 billion, while it sounds like a lot of money, isn't nearly enough to bridge that chasm.

Officially, the administration insists that the plan is adequate to the economy's need. But few economists agree. And it's widely believed that political considerations led to a plan that was weaker and contains more tax cuts than it should have - that Obama compromised in advance in the hope of gaining broad bipartisan support. We've just seen how well that worked.

Yeah, it's just not big enough right Paul? Sorry, have you heard that the national debt is now larger than the total amount of money that will be earned by every single person on earth this year? Let me go ahead and publish your response to that. Just scare mongering from the vast right wing hate machine.

One of the biggest disagreements that Conservatives have had is the lack of fiscal responsibility that the Republicans have made their own during their time in charge. Of course, the Democrats are bound and determined to show the Republicans how to really print money, wholesale.

Paul, where does all this money come from? Why is it you Liberals never understand something so basic. You can't spend something you don't have. Money does not grow on trees, and the fact that it's printed on paper doesn't prove that is false. Just because we can move it across the internet, doesn't mean that it is all created by Al Gore.

Money is earned, by the sweat and labor of the people. It should be collected by the Government regretfully, and spent most cautiously. We shouldn't chide Government for not spending enough, when they already have more debt than there is money on earth.

Federal Deficit exceeds world Gross Domestic Product

Yes, you read that right. The total Deficit of the Federal Government now exceeds the entire earned money of every single person in the world. Hello? Who is dumb enough to extend credit to us when we already owe more money than has ever been made by the entire world?

OK, you've followed the link, and you've read the article. You now understand that if the Government used the same accounting rules and regulations that every company in the nation has to use, they would be locked up for life. However the old joke seems to apply. It's my ball, my bat, and my rules. At least, that seems to be what Washington DC is telling us.

So how do we get out of this? I don't think we can. I think, like Rome, the Weimar Republic, even the Soviet Union, we may be beyond rescue.

When a person spends more than they earn, they are called irresponsible. When a corporation does it, it's called the same thing. The end result is Bankruptcy for the entities involved. When a nation does it, it's called creative accounting. You can't just print and spend money, history clearly shows what happens. The term, economic collapse comes to mind.

So what should we be doing right now? Funding ACORN and pushing Abortions of course, the Liberal idea of Stimulus.

You can call it creative, but I think I know what History will call it.
